It's a small little store, with incredible efficiency. Turned around a hem for my daughter's recital in 3-hours. They took me as a walk-up, which I thought would be easier since they could see the dress in question, however I'm sure a call would also have been fine. Dress came out exactly as needed, nice clean hem and they even gave it a little press. read more

I needed to get pants altered and came here to do it. Two older ladies were there working. They both seemed friendly. The hem cost $10 and was ready 2 days later. Cash only. read more

I recently had to bring dress pants to get hemmed. This place did an excellent job and was able to finish it in a reasonable time for a fair price. Bonus points to the fact that they held onto my pants longer than I intended! read more

'did a great quick fix to my husband's jeans that were too small in the waist, and only charged a dollar! Highly Recommend! read more

Great experience. $20 to hem a pair of jeans with original hem. Complete in less than five days. Easy free parking out back. Will definitely go back! read more

There just aren't enough of these little places anymore: personal service with a smile, reliable and dependable, and affordable to boot. I recently visited here to have a uniform for my kid taken out-- the lad grew seven inches taller during the PandaMacNCheese, and it was comical watching them measure up his hemlines and sleeves. Still, the nice gals here professionally got him set up, and had the alterations done in ONE DAY. Who offers one day service? Well, Mike's does. Kid looks sharp, price was right, and everyone is happy. read more

Mike's Tailor Shop - The room where it happens. - Sewing & Alterations Near Me - Arcadia, California

Had two pairs of dress pants tailored and was very impressed with the service. The turnaround time was fast, and the quality of the alterations was excellent. I'll definitely be returning for future tailoring needs. Highly recommend! read more

I got my pants hemmed and it was perfectly made. Stitches were perfectly straight. Added plus that it was given in a hanger and that the lady was very nice and accommodating. read more

I paid $410 in cash and gave it to an employee . Either the employee took the money or the owner is lying. Either way, someone pocketed the cash The owner boasted she won and the daughter posted falsehoods about me and tried to harass me on the phone I am setting up a neighborhood hotline in order for folks to complain about dishonest and rude businesses. The lesson is ALWAYS ASK FOR A RECEIPT - FOR MONEY AND GOODS GIVEN OVER We try to use local businesses as much as possible. So it is especially egregious when a business owner is rude, obnoxious and nasty. We try to use local businesses BUT we can always take our business elsewhere read more

We have been coming here since our previous people retired, and we have been really happy with everything we have had done. The ladies are so sweet and friendly, the turnaround time is fast, and the work is excellent. The one time that the alterations didn't come out quite right they were so responsive, and had it completed to our satisfaction within an hour. The cost is more than fair, too. We are really happy we found this place! Please do keep in mind that holidays, prom, graduation, etc., are busy times and factor that in to your expectations. We have always had our items completed within a week at the busiest times. read more

Fast, correct, and friendly Tailoring. They've nailed every special request I've asked for!

Came here on a whim. Needed a gown altered for my daughter for prom. Was very nervous as it's hard to find a good seamstress. She did a very good job! She was very quick and very nice too :). She had the gown on the promised dated and did a phenomenal job. Highly recommend! She is cash only. read more

I feel I need to state again how great this shop is. Delphy always does a great job, the price is very reasonable, and she always has my things ready when promised. The shop is also kept clean and organized. I highly recommend this seamstress/shop! read more

I needed new slacks hemmed for a wedding. They did wonderful work at a great price! Highly recommend them. read more

They did an amazing job with my pants. And very quick turnaround, it was done in a couple of days. I also appreciated the attention to detail and having my pants on hangers. Highly recommend!!! read more

A continued five stars. Great work and fast too. Price feels fair and they do things the right way.

Work was fast and well done. She turned around my old wool coat, (which is ancient and another person might have just tossed, but I'm attached) in 48 hours. I had worn this coat to death, after inheriting it from my father; the back seam had split open down the sleeve, and the inside lining was separated or torn in many places. This wool trench is at least 50 years old and now she's given me many more years with it! I will come here again for sure. It's cash only and I like supporting small businesses. read more

This place should not stay in business. I was disappointed to find out that they could not work on my dress 2 weeks after I dropped it off. They claimed that they had called me to tell me that they could not work on the dress but they did not. They lied, held my dress for 2 weeks, and I had to go to the shop for my planned fitting to find out this news. No one should ever trust this awful place. read more

DO NOT COME HERE! I got scammed. When I first came here to get my pants trimmed and hemmed, the lady asked for $20 for both pants. Came back to pick up and she said $20 dollars EACH. I even double checked and asked before I left the first time I came in. If you do wish to come here, pay first and get the "PAID" stamp, otherwise that lady will con you. Never coming here again. read more

Quality repair work, fast delivery and very honest folks at this shop. I brought an early 40 years old custom-made Z-Leather motorcycle suit for a replacement zipper. The repair was completed two days earlier than promised and workmanship seems better than one well known specialized motorcycle repair shop by orange county. (The main tailor quit, dispute with owner and the assistant worked there for years did a terrible job on my Alpinestars Atem V3 suit.) The couple at this shop are very honest people, friendly, very helpful and reasonable pricing on their services. They even looked for a zipper in their stock pile so I don't need to order another zipper online. I hope they will be around for years as I missed my trusted tailor who retired during the Covid period. This shop is bookmarked for my go to tailor shop for future services. read more

Excellent, fast, and friendly service. Came in needing to get a last minute suit adjustment and these lovely ladies got me in and out for a very reasonable price. read more

The owner is super nice very friendly and welcoming, I came few times and brought few Jeans to make it shorter they were perfectly done!

I've been looking for a good tailor and I've found one. I had to get a shirt loosened and Jennifer told me to bring it in for her to look at. She helped me on the spot and didn't even charge me because she said it was an easy fix! The shirt is great and they now have me as a loyal customer!!! read more

Cash only. I needed some alterations on my lab coat and I saw this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. I came on a Tuesday and the owner told me that she would have it ready on a Thursday. My lab coat only needed sleeves to be hemmed and total was less than $10. The lady who works there is very friendly. Parking is easy. There's plenty of mirrors for you to try on your clothing so she can place pins in to measure where to alter, and I recommend you try it on when you come pick up your clothes too. Will definitely come here again if I need anything else hemmed. read more

I love Mike's. They are so kind and always do a tip top job!! Always very reliable. I've been going there for at least 20 years when they were next to the kid's uniform shop. read more

I have had such good success getting several things altered at this shop. The lady working there is very respectful and easy to work with. Prices very reasonable. HIGHLY recommend! Tailoring is everything when it comes to making clothes work/look good on your body. 5 big stars for Mike's Tailor Shop! read more

Mikes did my wedding dress and most of my bridesmaids 10/10 extremely fast and reliable

I came a year ago and needed my suit from Express tailored for my best friends wedding. When I came to pick it up and try it on, this was the result of it. She went way too high! I told her this and she thought it looked normal. I told her I wanted my money back and she offered to try and fix it but no guarantees but for an additional charge. I told her no, that I wanted a full refund and then she offered half price. I walked out. I will never recommend this place or go back here again. I had to go to Maceys I think it was and find a blazer within the hour because my best friend from my block was going to get married within the hour. I had to spend a$100 for the new blazer. The only reason why I came here was by accident. Apparently there are two Mike tailor shops, the one I was recommend to go too, is in downtown LA. Not the same owner. read more

Had a rush order to make and Elfa obliged! Sure there was a price increase for the time crunch, but it was worth it when you just HAVE to have it done and ready. Either you have an important event or a flight to catch the next day or a million other things that just put you in a stressful situation. I needed a pair of pants to be hemmed and when Elfa asked me what type of cuff and started naming a couple... I was like ummm ??? I don't know anything about men's suits and cuff styles, I just know the length to get it at. So I just let her decide for me since she obviously has more experience and she said she could have it done in two hours! WOW, I was expecting to come back early next morning to pick it up but she delivered! Very happy with the quality and speed of work, Elfa is like the Disney fairy godmother. Would recommend this place to anyone that needs some alterations to be done, hemming especially! read more

Always meeting expectations. I trust that my suits and jeans are done correctly. Been coming here for years. Great attention to detail!

This review is long over do. I've been coming here for many years. I recently moved to Northern California but visit my mom and sisters here in Arcadia. I brought 5 things to be altered by Elfa at Mikes strictly because I wanted it done right. She knows exactly how I want it and where I want it to hit me without me telling her. Prices have gone up over the years but this woman works hard and does beautiful work that's worth being acknowledged. It's Cash only so be aware! read more

First trip to Mikes Tailor Shop. Shirts, pullover sweater, pants and sport coat recut. Two shirts with collars replaced. Excellent friendly customer service at a great price and delivered on time. New sport coat and slacks will be delivered directly to Mike's instead of store tailors. Great find in Arcadia. Like finding a great dentist and a great barber, just made life easier. read more

Arcadia's best kept secret. Turn around time as I needed, as quickly as I need it. Sweetest, kindest ladies in the world at extremely reasonable prices! Every piece i've brought in has been beautifully altered to my height and taken in as needed. Note that they are cash only. Were willing to make more alternations as needed upon receiving my items post hemming/alteration. Cannot recommend enough!!! read more

Great little gem. Been getting rid of most of my clothes, donating and what not while finding stuff I've never worn before that needs alterations and have been coming here a lot recently. I dropped of a pair of jeans one of my first times coming here and Elfa found about $40 bucks in one of my pockets and returned it to me when I came to pick it up. I knew it was only that much too when I remembered leaving that money there a few days prior. Elfa is a very kind lady and I'll be coming here anytime I need something tailored. read more

Their customer service is good. However I came here to get my germents (faja) sewn and was not all the way satisfied.... It's been 3 months and item has started to become unsown. I have been using it everyday literally so there's that. ‍ read more

I bring all my suits here for alteration! 1. Very friendly service. Super nice and very patient. I always feel welcome here. 2. Reasonable prices. Plus, if she can't do it, she will tell you so that you don't waste any time or money. I recently lost a lot of weight and my old suits are way too large, but she let me know up front versus charging me for an attempt that doesn't work. 3. Special requests. Once I needed an invisible zipper repaired/replaced and the work was well done. 4. The time frame is reasonable, but once I needed the work done within a day or two, and they made an exception for me by coming in early the next day just to help with my request. read more

Took a beanbag in to get the zipper completely replaced. The lady quoted $15, was polite, and got the work done on time. Appreciate the ease by which everything was taken care of. Will definitely go back there for future tailoring needs. read more

They are quick and have low prices, but they really need to learn how do a better "original hem". I'd rather pay the $22 at Nordstrom, than the $9 they charge at Mike's. Money saved, but the detail just isn't there. I have not tried any of their other services, but I was not satisfied with their "original hem". Hope this helps read more

This place was horrible. I came in to ask her to fix my prom dress because it was too big on the bottom and top and the top I wanted her to add in metal clasps so it would be more sturdy. She told me to come in a week to pick up. Which would be 3 days before prom so I was like ok good enough. A week later I come in she completely forgot to tailor it. Then tells me to come back 2 hours later and it will be done. I come back and the alterations looked so poorly done and she did not even add in the metal clasp that we agreed on and kept pushing me not to do them when I really wanted them otherwise my top dress part could fall off. Finally I come back the next day and it's done however right before my prom one metal clasp she put in broke off bc she tied it very loosely..... So for prom I was depending on a safety pin which actually did a Better job than the $40 I paid her. read more

Brought in a casual dress shirt to get the sleeves & length of the shirt shortened couple of weeks ago. I requested the shape of the bottom of the shirt remain the same, curved on the sides. Also brought in 3 work dress shirts to have the sleeves shortened only. Came in on a Monday morning, they said it would be ready by Saturday 2pm. 2:30pm Saturday I get a call that they are behind & won't be ready until 3:30pm. I said I'll just pick it up on Monday, no rush. Came in Monday, little buttons are not sewn in & it should take 10 min while I waited. I'm a little irked but the sleeves on all shirts were fine. But the casual shirt bottom was straight with only a very slight curve, it didn't retain the normal dress shirt curve like I asked. Also once buttoned, the two sides on the bottom wasn't flush. I asked them to fix both issues & they said it will be ready by Saturday. I come on Saturday & the buttons weren't sewn in again? But worse yet the curve is now too high so the front & back look very pointy. And two sides on the bottom were still not flush. Disappointed & no longer did I want them to work on it anymore I just took my shirt & left. I already paid $15 for the sleeves (price went up) & $12 for the hem. Sigh. I will look for another shop to fix the mistakes on the shirt. read more
