These are the most authentic tacos I've had in the state. Had the carne asada, delicious meat, perfect cheese, great tortillas. Had rice and beans as well, both good. Wow, I love authentic Mexican and Tony is doing it right. My wife had the enchilada plate, it came with rice, beans, and a salad. Generous servings and the enchilada sauce did not come from a can. I had three tacos, pastor, chorizo, and carne. They came with a lime, and dressed with onions and cilantro. Chips and two table sauces came complimentary, verde and a warmer chipotle sauce, they both were excellent. I think Jesus is doing a great job and staying true to his objective, fresh and authentic Mexican. I will be a regular and have several other items I want to try, maybe I will start with at breakfast for their chilaquiles. read more

I am so happy that they opened an amazing Mexican restaurant near my apartment and close to campus. Since all of the previous businesses located here (sits on the same property as a bp) usually went belly-up in a short period of time, I expected the same from this place, especially since the name "Tony's Tacos" just seems a bit generic and goofy. Wow, was I ever wrong. The food is superb. Much better than the typical americanized mexican restuarants you can find in every town in the U.S. The tortas, fajitas, and chips are all good. The tacos are excellent, especially the chorizo tacos. You can't go wrong with them. The atmosphere inside isn't ideal for families if that's what you're looking for, but it's a taco place 50 feet from ISU's campus so that's probably not what you should expect. Every time I go, there are several customers and often times it is busy. Fingers crossed that it stays that way. read more

I just walked from my apartment to Tony's tacos to pick up my $20 order, and I did not receive my chips or the right tacos. I called to ask if I could get the chips that I ordered my queso for and I was dismissed on the phone. I have ordered food from Tony's frequently for the past 4 years but I will no longer go here after how I was treated on the phone. Had a very bad experience here. Food was okay. But the card machine wasn't working. But he put my card in the reader three times. And still on his end didn't read. So I sat down and ate and started to leave because the manager said it was okay and go eat after the meal came. Which i thought my meal was on the house. But I guess not as they came running after me saying that I didn't pay. ($5.67). So I just paid with another card and left. Turned out they charged my card 3 times and the bill ended up being $15 instead of the $5. So I had to call my credit card company and had to go back to Tony's to work it out. Never was I apologized to or offered a free drink or something for the inconvenience!! I'll never be back in fear that my card will be charged wrong. But the food was okay. More of a college joint than a locals eatery. Customer service was very bad, food was mediocre. read more

Amazing quality. The homemade salsa are flavorful and fresh. We've tried the steak tacos and chorizo tacos and both were so tender and tasty. Steak fajitas also were so tender and delicious and came with rice, beans, salad and corn tortillas. Homemade chips and the guac is amazing! Very clean seating area and bathrooms. Was Told by a co worker there was some good food here . Went in this afternoon with my Wife, She ordered Steak Tacos , I ordered the Milanesa, they informed me they weren't making the milanesa today, Its a thin Steak that's breaded for those who don't know, not anything real difficult, It bothers me when menu items are out of stock. Tacos were OK at best the asada was fatty, I ended up going with a burrito , I asked if sour cream was on it when ordering and I was told yes. There was none, and the burrito was cut in half for me in a diagonal fashion Leaving 2/3 of the meat on one half, and it was rather small. Agree with the above Nachos were sparse, "Salsa" came out with them in ketchup bottles, No queso dip was available. Needless to say we will not be visiting again. read more
