Great food, great service! Love their salsa and lime bar too, I always like to get more limes!

Came here today for the first ( and last ) time ( 11/22/ 25. I ordered the enchilada meal.... When I took a bite of the enchilada, it was COLD, and the exact same thing with the refried beans. To say that I was disgusted is an understatement. When I brought this to the attention of the staff, they enquired if I wanted another meal, to which I refused. I then asked for a refund, to which they flatly declined. I now have some sort of stomach virus, and will most likely miss work tomorrow. I also spoke with another patron, and they reported the same exact issue. When I informed them that I was going to file a complaint with the health department, they literally stated that they did not care. Well, we'll see how "much they don't care " when a health inspector gives them a THOROUGH inspection !!! read more

Far exceeded my expectations! I've driven by Tony's Tacos dozens of times when visiting Normal but tonight was my first time trying it. I had a "quesadilla taco" (a corn shell with ground beef, chihuahua cheese, and sour cream) and a "Mexican-style" tostado (steak grilled with tomatoes and jalapeños), beans & rice, and chips & salsa. I also sampled several of the homemade salsas from their salsa bar. Everything deserves five stars (for perfect seasoning and great quality ingredients) but my favorite was the tostado. The menu at Tony's is pretty extensive so I look forward to going back soon to try other items like burritos and tamales. The price was pretty good too- especially since I have plenty of chips and salsa left over for another meal. read more

So the recommended tacos were great, the steak on corn tortillas, onions and cilantro of course topped with fresh tomatillo salsa and the fish taco in flour tortilla with just a squeeze of lime! What I am reviewing is the service, when I asked to add an extra tip so I could 2.00 in quarters for emergency night laundry during a business trip, the cashier was nice enough to take 2.00 from her own person and convert to quarters. First time here. One side of the restaurant is located within a gas station... So not the best curb appeal. The inside was spacious. Approximately 10 four top tables. 4 two top tables. 4 booths. You order and pay at a counter. They will give you a number and bring your food out to you. We ordered streak, fish and birria tacos. We also ordered a burrito and horchata. All the food was delicious. The tacos consisted of 2 layered corn tortillas, the protein of choice, onions and cilantro. There is salsa and other condiments available in a side bar. This was a plus. Room for improvement: 1. The horchata was grainy. Needs to be blended more? 2. Need to sell bottled water or have a filtered water dispenser accessible to patrons. read more

Delicious! We were in the mood for tacos, just tacos. These were nice traditional Mexican tacos. They had a lot to choose from. I went for the steak and chicken tinga, with sour cream and queso fresco on the side. 2 tacos is plenty of food, I thought they were good sized and had a lot of meat. They have a salsa bar so don't leave without grabbing some for your tacos. The guacamole was really good! I would definitely go back and try some more. read more

My mom and I came here after my daughter had a performance at the stadium across the street. The food here is excellent! We had the chips and guacamole and the Birria Tacos. This was my first time having birria tacos and they were so flavorful. They were stuffed with meat and came with the pan juices to dip the tacos in. I also have to give the staff some props. The restaurant was packed with parents and they did not skip a beat. We didn't have to wait long at all for our food. Give them a try! read more

Had this place the other day for carry-out. Let's do a review. Service. Good, at least for how busy they were. 15 minute wait. Food. I had the chorizo and birria tacos. The chorizo taco tasted kind of... Bland? It was just this kind of nondescript crumbly meat; not the hot, punchy, bold flavor I'm accustomed to from chorizo. The birria tacos were decent though - the outer tacos had a nice kind of chewy crisp to them. The beef also wasn't particularly well-seasoned, but the consommé made up for it. Texture-wise the meat was a little too tough for my taste but it wasn't too offensive. Now for the score. Most people are giving Tony's 4 & 5 star reviews. But I can't say the same for what I ate - the spicy, hearty flavor I expect from Mexican food just wasn't there. Maybe I just ordered the wrong items on the menu, or stopped by on too busy of a night. I don't know. 5.5/10 read more

I have been all over the country as a prior military veteran. Tacos are my favorite cuisine and when I try something new especially tacos my attentiveness to quality is very high. When you see this building on the side of a gas station do not let it fool you! This is top 5 for me tacos all time. I've had them everywhere. Leave this place for those of us who don't care for Americanized Mexican food that's slathered in cheese and/or ranchero sauce. Although it's a tad small, Tony has been there taking the orders every time I've visited - he has a passion for serving quality food and the patience to help you select something new if your willing to reach out a beyond tacos and burritos. Delicious tacos. My daughter attends ISU and said I needed to come with her and try this amazing Mexican place. Its just down the road from her apartment. Tasty, tasty tacos and delicious sauces. We make it a point to have tacos there whenever I'm in town. They are active on social media and always appreciate the input about their food and service. If you are in the Bloomington-Normal area I highly recommend you seek them out and have some delicious freshly made street tacos. The meat tasted like it belonged in a Chinese food dish. I am from Texas and have not found the Tex-Mex that fits my taste expectation.

Tony's share the building/parking lot with the Circle K gas station. Don't let that stop you from dining there. Very clean, simple family run establishment. Order at the counter and they bring your food to you. Nothing fancy but the best authentic Mexican cuisine. Menu has a verity of choices. Food is served hot and plentiful.
