We've been going to this place for at least 30+ years! Best pizza ever, especially the pepperoni and mushroom (and you can ask them to make the pepperoni toasted). Delicious! Every time we have out of town guests we bring them here and they've all loved the pizza, too! We've traveled to Europe (Italy), Asia and other parts of the USA and this remains to be our favorite place for pizza. We rarely order anything else except pizza here, but we occasionally have had their grinders, which are also good. We usually get their Greek salad, too, and they don't skimp on the ingredients, esp. the olives and feta cheese. YUM! read more

We in the area for NCAA Baseball Regionals,and ordered 20 pies during a game. Everyone working was extremely helpful. Delivery time was spot on with the end of the game. They even called to make sure it wasn't going into extra innings. The baseball team raved abut the it. I would highly recommend this place! read more

Had a BLT grinder. Very good. Very generous with the bacon. Toasted properly, just the right amount of mayonnaise. Waitress was very busy. Only one waitress for the entire restaurant. Growing up we lived in Willimantic while my dad took his PhD at UConn. He would come home at 2 a.m. after working on his dissertation, he would stop by Tony's pick up a large pizza wake us all up (even on a school night) and we would give up sleep for this pizza. That was many many many years ago. I worked in NYC for over 25 years and there is still no pizza better than Tony's. TONY'S ROCKS!!! We will drive 2 hours to have Tony's. "An awesomely gooey pie" is what comes to mind, that is if you grew up on Ton'y pizza. It's one of those comfort foods you would crave halfway around the world The gooey cheeze and crispy crust, is the epitome of good CT pizza. Loved the pizza and the service was awesome! My good friend and I met up for lunch last week, and we ordered a large pepperoni we heard it was legendary and we're obsessed with pepperoni. The waitress delivered our food but it ended up coming out a small pizza and she then realized that it was supposed to be a large. She said no worries I'll put an order for a large pizza in right away and let us keep the small to start on, we were happy. After we were stuffed with so much pizza she gave us boxes without even asking and the check which she only charged us for the small for her mistake, super nice of her! Most places would not do that. I have been eating Tony's pizza since I was little. It is family owned and operated. Mama comes out and checks on the customers. Makes you feel like your part of the family. When I go to FL to visit they always request I bring Tony's pizza with me. They half cook it, freeze it. I bring it on the plane. I finish cooking when I get there. Everyone is full and happy. My favorite place by far. (I have them cook it extra crispy). YUM! read more

Food is good. Tends to be on the greasy side. But the service to me sucks. Seems to be only one waitress waiting on tables. I got wings and a grinder and I was there over an hour. You never see the waitress, she doesn't come back at all. I had to ask for my check, only got one drink the entire time I was there. I don't think they know how to smile either. To anyone that has a single negative thing to say bad about Tony's all I can say is wow. I spent the first 18 years of my life in Connecticut and there is an incredible fact, you almost cannot get a bad pizza. Willington Pizza 1&2, Midway, Stafford House of Pizza etc. Tony's was always my families favorite. Incredible pizza as is everything else on their menu. I urge you to travel and just try a pizza in a different state like I have and you will truly appreciate how lucky you are. What I wouldn't give to have a piece of their amazing pizza. Nothing compares period just count your blessings you could be eating the garbage they serve here in Louisiana, where the best place is a cheap horrible chain that sells the $5 hot and nasty. read more

I am with Rob M. on this one. But after all, when you go to Tony's, it is really the food that we're all there for. The Pizza is the best in this area and the prices are fair. The cheese pizza is classic, its really the only thing to get on the menu....... None of the ingredients are fresh, canned mushrooms, canned tomato sauce, who cares, it works... Just watch out for the townies, they are uncultured at best.... read more

Having family from the area, I've been going to Tony's for years. They make (in my opinion) the best grinders to be found in Willimantic (aka Windham). If you've never had a grinder, it's essentially a sub sandwich, however, you can have the entire thing baked and that's what a true grinder is all about. I'm warning you now, don't have a grinder outside of New England and think you're in the know, you're not. This is a sandwich specific to the region and I've yet to find a grinder that compares outside the New England region. Now, when ordering a grinder you're going to have many options as there are many varieties. For the sake of this review I'm going to focus of just two types, the two I think are best. If you're a purist, the true traditional grinder would be the Genoa. Start here if you've never had a grinder. Tony's has perfected it. Also, don't be shy, order the large, ~ALWAYS~ order the large. If you're feeling a bit more adventurous or have tried the Genoa already, go for the pastrami. It's not as traditional as the Genoa, but it's a devilishly delicious heart attack of a sandwich. Simply put, you can't go wrong with either of these grinders and you can't go wrong with Tony's. read more

Wow. Ordered based on all the great reviews here, just. WOW. Took over an hour for the pizza to get delivered, and I live about 8 minutes away. On a Wednesday. not even a weekend. Phone service was an iota above rude. Oh, and the prices on the online menu? Those are more a "suggestion". 2 dollars more than what I was expecting. Pizza was terrible, maybe not the worst I've ever had, but in the top 3. Also the pizza was cut in a party cut. For 2 people. Really? Who does that? Cheese was plasticky, and sauce was clearly from a jar. Next time I'll just make my own. WILL NOT BE GOING HERE AGAIN, and I highly recommend anyone with tastebuds stay away as well. read more

Wanted a thick crust pizza and this place had the best reviews. Ordered a large with a bunch of toppings for take out and it was still warm when we got it home to eat. The taste was decent but it was literally swimming in grease! Under the crust was so greasy and the top had pools of liquid. The crust become so soggy from sitting in the grease, mind you for a relatively short time, that it sagged down when you picked up a piece to eat it with the grease drip, drip, dripping as you raised it to your mouth. They cut it in squares which does make it slightly more manageable but all that grease is disgusting. The place itself is old, worn, tired, and pretty nasty. It probably opened sometime in the '70's and it looks like that was the last time it was thoroughly cleaned. Tony's needs a thorough cleaning and DE-GREASING! read more

First time there today. Ordered a great pizza and some wings. The sauce for wings was outstanding. The wings were also perfectly crispy. They stayed crispy even after I arrived home, 35 mins later. Tony's. I don't know that it competes with New Bedford pizza, but that's mostly due to style. Tony's is fresh crust everyday, thickish crust pizza. The sauce on the pizza was excellent, very hearty tomato. The place isn't the ritz, but the folks there are very accomodating, the draft beer was excellent and the pizza was one of the best thicker crust styles I've had. I had a pepperoni pie. The pizza here is thick crust, and fine ( in the three-star sense). Five star reviews here baffle me a bit, even taking the atmosphere into account, which is very generic. The quantity and quality of pizza are about right for the price, but its just too greasy and the crust has a weak crumb reminiscent of frozen pizza, but I think the dough is just old. For a thick pie, go with Willington pizza, which gets an extra star in my book. read more
