I have been a patron of Tonys since i was a child. I always looked forward to Friday nights because dad would bring home the pizza in town. Is it trendy? Not really. Is it modern? Finally got a chance to try a Tony's pizza. If you like thick crust and mild pepperoni then Tony's is for you. Personally this style is not my favorite but very good for what it is. Tony's has been in business my entire life, and their pizza making wisdom shows! Hands down the best pizza in Akron. Good pizza and even better wings in the tiny sleepy town of Akron. Fantastic. This place was opened by Mssrs Danza, Curtis, Romo, Bennett and Soprano. Danza gave up his stake when he became an actor. Soprano gave up his steak when he spilled a bottle of vinegar on it. I don't rate on the service, I rate on the food. I went in here 10 minutes before closing without realizing how late it was, and asked if they could make anything or if they were closing. Yes, they had an attitude and acted like it was the end of the world, but they also insisted on making me my wings. And they were damn good wings. The pizza is really good too, it's probably a 4. Wings are 4.5. The wings are excellent and they made them for me (single order) when they could have easily said the grill was off. Buffalo actually has the best Pizza in the world - it's not quite like New York's, and not quite like Chicago's, it's an entity unto itself and it's the best I've ever had. This place isn't really a good example of just how good it can be. Instead, I recommend trying one of the big 8: Bozanna's (Clarence), Avenue (Broadway & Bailey, East Buffalo), Bob's Poplar (Cheektowaga), Blasdell (southtowns), Imperial (South Buffalo), Zip's (North Buffalo), Francos (Eggert location in Amherst), and Yogi's (Akron). The last one is more Brick-Oven style than typical Buffalo style, but all 8 are better-than-sex slices. Great wings, really good pizza. Cute little place in town. They got our pizza to us in good time on the very busy night before Thanksgiving. Tip: They cut their pizzas party cut (square) which I actually love, but will do triangle slices if you ask. read more

This pizza place has been around as long as I can remember and I hadn't been there in years so I thought we'd try it again. We ordered a couple pizzas and wings to go for dinner last night. When we go there the place was empty and the staff was indifferent and borderline rude... no one seemed to enjoy what they were doing. When we tried the food at home we were impressed with the wings but extremely disappointed in the pizza. The dough was thick with no distinction and the sauce tasted like plain tomato paste. The toppings were okay with the exception of the sausage. It looked like dog kibble was sprinkled all over the pizza, and like the crust, had almost no flavor. Delicious pizza and wings. They use fresh mushrooms on their pizza, which is a big thing for me; I HATE canned mushrooms on pizza. The only downside is that they cut their pies in squares, rather than triangular slices, which some people don't like (but I personally don't mind). Their fried dough is good too. read more

The place was hot and it was colder outside than it was inside. There was a living bug on the pizza. The water was yellow and salty. They also didn't wear gloves and was eating while they were taking out the pizza. The blue cheese was extra moldy and extra runny and didn't stick to the pizza it was almost the texture of gelatin. He also dug out ice from a crusty old bucket from Home Depot and dug it out with his dirty hands. They had no menus and had to go print off new ones after we already ordered. The potato's were not ripe enough so they fries were green. We had to even salt are own fries because they are against salt because of the "health conditions". The guy that was cooking the food had chest hair and a beard and had food in his beard. My pizza was saggy the cheese didn't stay on the pizza and the dough was half cooked so much that it stuck to my teeth while I chewed. Disgusting. read more

New in town, literally moved in that day, was unpacking boxes and called to have a pizza delivered and he asked where I was in accordance to a road I lived. I'm new in town, I have no clue. As a delivery service Don't you own a gps or an iPhone? I told him I am 4 miles from the the shop. The man said they didn't deliver that far. I am 4 miles from their shop? My sister and brother-in-law live in Akron, NY so I stopped by to pick up a pizza on the way to their home. Large cheese, pepperoni and mushroom pizza was made fresh with excellent ingredients. The pizza was excellent and with the sauce having a very fresh taste and the crust was outstanding. They use real pepperoni, real mozzarella cheese and fresh cut mushrooms. Nothing wrong with this pizzeria since it has been a tradition in Akron, NY since 1957. Note: How many pizzeria's really last that long considering there are two other pizzeria's within walking distance of each other. I highly recommend this establishment. read more

Akron should be ashamed that Tonys pizza is on the main road..worst customer service I have ever encountered..it is 2016..all businesses should accept bank cards..they do not inform you over the phone that it is a cash only place and blamed me for not asking them..i had to run over to the bank and accept the fees..when I returned to the pizzaria to pay they informed me they did not like my attitude (i did not swear or raise mt voice)and would not give me the food..the place smelled of mold and was filthy dirty..i went down the road to a new pizzaria..when I spoke of my encounter 5 different people spoke up and agreed to how rude tonys is and proclaimed they will never order from there again..beware..it is very dirty..if you get sick the owner will probably blame you..NYS inspectors should go through that place and condem the building..if i could put 0 stars I would have read more

This place is totally bad. They overcharged me by $6-8 and told me their prices had changed when I called after paying and driving home when I realized the prices advertised could not have added up to the $42 they charged. When I called in my order with an out of state phone # they never quoted the price or informed me their internet menu was not the correct price. The pizza was about a 5 out of ten. The wing sauce was surgery and I've never had buffalo wing sauce with sugar it stunk. They charged me for extra pizza sauce but did not provide it. I rate this five a minus 5. read more

I was in Tony's Pizza when this Jackie S. came in swearing like a trooper. It was then pointed out to her that they don't take credit cards where she proceeded to "aks how do you expect me to F'ing pay for this??" "we have an ATM on the premises" was the plain response . She then berated the staff and had the audacity to ask if they'd pay the ATM fee! To my surprise she leaves to go the bank ATM which is what... .50 cents less than the on site ATM fee?? Then of course she returns from the bank and threatens to write a bad review here. REALLY? As soon as she said that, the proprietors took the pizza away and threw it in the garbage with the advise to go ahead and write a really really bad review! Which of course she did like any other Democrat supporter. She claimed to go to the pizza shop nearby but I know they don't take credit either!! This douche bag is one of those rabble rousers who thinks everybody should cater to them hand and foot. You go girl! Straight to hell. Please! read more
