I just picked up my Corvette after leaving it with Tony all winter. The final result is something I couldn't dream for my car. Tony and his team went above and beyond with the rebuild. I told Tony when I first dropped off my car, I need someone to just love this car. Comb through the car, find everything it needs and just replace it. To get to the end result, we have to start from the beginning. I thought I'd put in a suspension kit and have vintage air installed. After a few social media forum questions, it seemed all roads led to Tony's Corvette shop in Maryland. I live on Long Island! I call Tony and we discuss what I'd like, to be on the Belt Parkway in dead stop traffic with the A/C full blast. Tony says he needs to inspect the car. There's a cost, nothing is free in this world so I make the appointment. Once on the lift, Tony is in the zone. See this motor mount? It's incorrect, it's from a 1968 Corvette. The steering system needs to be rebuilt. The rear end suspension, all the bushings need to be replaced. It goes on and on. We go in the office and put it all on paper. Here is where you have to make a decision and put all emotions aside. If the car is worth X, how much are you willing to overspend? Tony said, I can find you a Top Flight car with no work needed that might be cheaper. And now it's my decision to make I could be a typical Long Island schmuck, buy a new red convertible and call it a day. No! This Corvette, I had before my kids! I was in Europe researching the 1982 Collector Edition Corvette and when I left the military I found the perfect one. This car has been with me for over *30* years! So yes, emotions got in the way. I want KYB shocks all around, make her bionic. I dropped my Corvette off mid September. I said to Tony, take your time with her, I am in no rush. Around March, Tony said he's nearing completion. To get back to Maryland, I had to take the LIRR JFK shuttle, fly to DC and stay overnight. I took an Uber from DC to the shop. There she was, like a bride. All refreshed and ready to come back home. The first thing I noticed was the steering. This car does not have rack and pinion steering but whatever they did, it now feels laser focused. I asked them to step up the rear end gears, I'm at the light and the car launched! I waited to write this review, it's dead heat in July and the car runs and feels very tight. Another master craftsman who like me will retire one day. They don't teach new mechanics how to work on 1982 technology. For now, all I can do is drive my Corvette knowing I gave it new life in the 21st century. read more

My decision was confirmed when I went to a local Chevy dealer Saturday morning after I had put 1,000 miles on the C5 Convertible. I asked for a simple oil change and a white-coated "technician" took charge. My cell phone rang ten minutes and I was informed that my brand new car needed to have a "brake job". I've been taking my Vette to Tony's for a little over 10 years now. The work is top notch and done at a fair price. There have been very few times (in 10 years) when I had to bring the car back, and each time Tony took car of it quickly. They stand behind their work and do it right the first time. I own 4 Corvettes, 77, 92, 02 and 2017. I would not take any of them anywhere but Tony's Corvette shop. They installed add-ons on my 02 to perfection and impeccably maintained it for me. He restored my 77 original (paint, carpet, stereo, full tune-up) and worked on my 92 for maintenance and add-ons. I brought my new Corvette to Tony shop because I wanted to do some performance updates. I was very impressed when Tony reduced my budget by telling me some of the things I wanted to do would not yield the results I was looking for. His staff all seemed very courteous and we're working hard in the shops. They got the work done before they said they would and I like how they even have an in-house dyno. Prices seem very reasonable and competitive to other performance shops. I'm definitely heading back there for service and other improvements to my car. read more

I purchased my 2007 Corvette Z06 out of my area in July 2014 and had it shipped to MD. Through intense research I deduced that Tony's Corvettes was probably my best bet to try for all things Corvette here in the DC Metro area. When I got the car, there was only one FOB given to me as the other had been lost so I had to buy an extra one. The local Chriswell Chevrolet dealership (the anti Christ of dealerships) wanted around $150 to program it. I called Tony's and the very helpful and polite Carol said we'll do it for $25 and we'd be happy to give you a tour of the premises and a quick overview of the car as well. I arrived and met Tony. He was welcoming, friendly, and possessed a knowledge and personal touch that I have never experienced. He also has every part known to man for any year Corvette it seemed....after a 45 minute tour of two giant shops (one catering to early Vettes the other to newer Vettes and a Dyno room) I was thoughly impressed. He does full off restorations, painting, and anything you can think of... The ultimate one stop shop. His passion and experience for what he does was mind boggling. Then he asked me if I knew about the issues existing with the LS7 (427) motors that have arisen with questionable valve guides/springs. Well... I didn't. He said if I wasn't going to fix it soon to be safe, It would cost much more later to replace a whole engine. We'd have to keep an eye on it, and listen to the valve train because he had seen many blown motors arising from this 'issue' over the last few years. I decided to keep this in the back of my head because I wasn't quite ready to spend 3-5k work on the heads after just buying the car. Well guess what....7 months later while simply cruising at 55mph the dreaded valve dropping 'pop' occurred and the motor was destroyed. If I'd have listened, I wouldn't have had to drop the big money. This is where Tony became a lot more than just your typical shop owner. I called him after hours on his private cell number, that he had given me to use in emergencies,(who does that?) because I was worried that I needed a particular towing service for the car as its sits very low. He recommended one and helped me get through the situation. I was pretty frazzled. He did a lot of research to get me a new motor, and completed the job with his great mechanic Eddie, in much less time than originally predicted. He was always available, helpful, and above all, a consummate professional through out the whole phase. He ALWAYS had time for me. I could never recommend anyone better for your Corvette needs (he also does high end Camaros), and I've never been so impressed with a business, or its owner, to write a review of this length. Tony is the real deal and you WANT him under your hood and being 'at one' with your Vette. I'm tough to impress and he blew me away at every turn and continues to do so every time I see him. i can't rank tony's w/enough stars. his prices are reasonable, but his expertise and integrity are such that he does fewer jobs and does them in less time than the other places i have previously taken my corvette to. thus, taking one's corvette to tony's is, based on my experience, not only a means of having a safe and working car, but of having this ultimately happen for less money than one would be likely to pay elsewhere for lesser work. but there's even more: based on tony's years of experience and expertise in diagnosing problems (he has probably seen it all) he has given advice over the phone -- at no charge -- when simple fixes are possible. thus, today, my front door would not fully shut close, and i called tony to get an appointment and was ready to hold the door tight and find bungee cords to help me do so while driving from mclean, va to tony's gaithersburg facility. the problem was mechanical, tony told me, and advised me to use a screwdriver to push the locking lash in the door upwards in order to unstick it from its locked position. i did so and, bingo, the problem was solved -- at no cost. i'm headed out of state next week and -- with a degree of confidence one seldom gets these days when dealing with people who provide service -- will leave my car with tony. on my return i know that i'll get back my beloved red corvette in as good a shape as will be possible for the old girl, and for a price that will be fair. mh mclean, virginia read more

I've been using Tony's Corvette Shop for a little over 3 years and find that he has the greatest talent in the area. He's equipped to do anything from simply changing your Vette's oil to restoring your 1958 from the frame up to modifying your Vette for competitive racing. No, he's not cheap, but he's less expensive than the dealer, better equipped, more knowledgeable, trustworthy, etc., etc., etc. I don't understand why anyone takes their Vette to anyone else! read more

I just bought my first Corvette late last fall and am lucky enough to live fairly close to Tony's shop. He did an inspection at a flat rate shortly after I bought it and he and his crew (Pat, Andrew) spent a considerable amount of time going over the car with me and giving me pointers on what to expect, what needed to be addressed, etc. Luckily, the car was basically sound and I learned a lot from Tony. I have been back and forth to the shop a number of times since to buy and exchange parts for my car for the work I'm capable of doing. Last month, I had his crew swap in an entire rear suspension and differential in addition to rebuilding the trailing arms. I was on a very tight budget and Tony worked with me every step of the way to keep me informed of where he was in the process along with what the labor and parts were adding up to. It ended up being a bit more than I budgeted but it was due to some unexpected repairs that came up. Tony called me into the shop to show me what they had found and we discussed options and repairs. Car is back and all the work paid off as it was done correctly the first time! I know other really good mechanics but these guys are specialists and work on these cars every day, so they know about all of the unusual Corvette quirks. I would bring my car back any time after my last experience. Shop rates are the same as any other repair place but the experience and wisdom are priceless. read more

Over the years I took my many vettes to TOny. Most of the time the job they did was spot on and of course always overpriced. I did not mind paying top dollar because I knew it would be fixed. The last time I took the car inere for a simple flat tire it cost me 278 and the car was worse when i got it back. I had 3 of my tire pressure moniitor sensors working just fine. The flat tire he said he could not repair without changing the sensor(130 dollars from him, under 50 after market). So he plugs the tire and that was fixed. The sensor he supposedly put in he tells me "threw off" the other sensors and now none of them work! I went from 4 sensors to no sensors and now the light flashes to tell me the tire monitor system needs servicing! 278 I got ripped off. I have sent Tony alot of business not to mention spending over 5K with him myself. I am so disappointed I will never take it to him again. He did not make it right and made alot of excuses. read more
