We were greeted promptly and seated. Their menu is a great selection of sandwiches, salads, burgers. My husband had the Salmon salad 2.0, I had a grilled vegie sandwich on focaccia bread. Got the food fast. We were shocked at the size of the salad! It was plated beautifully! My sandwich was delicious. Only tiny complaint.. I wish there were more vegies on it. Perfect family friendly breakfast spot. We got the chilaquiles and chicken fried steak. Both were really good! The chilaquiles actually had a hint of spice which we really liked and the gravy on the chicken fried steak was so good. We also got their pumpkin bread on the side which was made in-house. We went here a few times during our visit to Merced. The first visit was for breakfast which was really good. I was very pleased that they were able to make me an iced latte. And the selection of pastries was mouth watering. I highly recommend the pumpkin bread. Not sure if they offer it as a side for breakfast all year but when they offer it, just get it. So gooood! Second visit was for lunch. The burger was decent. Not the best burger I have had but it did the job. Their sandwiches looked amazing. If I had to do lunch over again I would get one of the sandwiches. And of course I got the pumpkin bread on the side for lunch as well lol. Our friend that recommended this place mentioned that the courtyard is super cute. It was not great weather during our visit so we didn't get to experience that. Maybe next time! read more

All I have to say is OMG!!! The pastries and breakfast here are amazing. I basically love anything churro related, so when I saw a churro cheesecake bar.....um yes please!!!! I also love eggs Benedict, which did not disappoint. It was raining the day of our visit, but they have a wonderful little courtyard to sit outside in. I was in town visiting and wanted to get brunch. I found Toni's through a Yelp search with great reviews. Was seated outside since it was nice and the restaurant was pretty busy. Got the Mediterranean chicken sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries and blackberry iced tea. My friend ordered the breakfast burrito. It was hard to choose since all the items on the menu looked really good. Our waitress also let us know that the size of the dishes are fairly large and if we wanted, some items keep well to the next day if we couldn't finish. I was amazed by how large our plates were. I don't regret my decision for the Mediterranean chicken sandwich. It has feta, chicken, pesto, sun dried tomatoes and spinach on a focaccia bread. Also got ranch and a sweet chili dipping sauce to go with my fries. The chili sauce was an interesting combo to dip with the fries but I'm a sucker for ranch, and appreciated the waitress for providing me with dipping options! The fries were large and crispy which is nice as some places make them mushy even after they have been sitting for awhile on the plate. They definitely held up as I was finishing my sandwich. My friend's breakfast burrito was pretty large and filling as well. She enjoyed her meal and didn't have any complaints. I can see why so many love this place. Great selections of food options for brunch and lunch which includes light, medium and heavier fares. I forgot to note down the name of our waitress but she was attentive, knowledgeable and didn't make us feel rushed to eat & pay. The atmosphere was just nice, inviting and relaxing for Sunday. I am so glad I was finally able to give Toni's a try! I went on a Saturday afternoon and even though it was a little busy, I was not disappointed. There are plenty of seats inside and outside. We decided to sit outside and it was beautiful. There is plenty of shade so you do not feel the heat at all. The breakfast burrito was bomb! I got it with both chorizo and sausage, but I liked the chorizo more. The cheese crust on the outside makes it different from other burritos. Toni's has been Merced staple for years. IMO, the only thing that would make it better is if you could enjoy a libation with your brunch. They are always busy and whether you're sitting inside or outside, both are equally enjoyable. The wrap and veggie burger are a favorite, as well as the quiches. Perfection! My family and I enjoyed a weekend brunch here when we came to Merced to helped my niece return college and moving in dorm. I had the chorizo special, pumpkin bread, and sweet tea. I wish I had ordered the blueberry lemonade, as that was homemade and fresh squeezed! I got dispenser sweet tea, not homemade. The fresh, homemade pumpkin bread was very moist and yummy! I did not love their chorizo dish. It was all potatoes. There was hardly any chorizo on the plate! I literally had to dig and look for any chorizo remnants under the pile of potatoes and feta. It was literally a plate of breakfast potatoes and feta cheese, with a side of avocado. The special came with eggs, but I do not eat eggs (allergic) so requested a substitution of spinach. I appreciate that the staff was willing to make the substitution. It was the complete lack of chorizo, what should have been the main ingredient in the dish, that made this dish such a disappointment. read more

I understand Toni has her rules about when they stop serving breakfast but it was disappointing to be refused breakfast at 11:30am when they stop at "11ish" per their menu. I had my parents who are in their mid 80s with me and it was challenging for them to make their way out of the car and to the table only to be told breakfast was no longer possible. You have the ingredients, you have the cooks and you have the staff and it was dead so I don't see why a couple orders of chicken fried steak couldn't have been accommodated. But if policy is more important than customer service then so be it. I ended up taking my parents to Granny's Pantry in Atwater. They were happy to serve breakfast when we arrived. Portions were good - definitely to share! Loved that they make their own bread, fresh and soft. Tritip was really good too- probably more meat would have been better; mediteranean chicken was also good , but not as much as the tender tri tip. Best fries ever though!!! My son really liked the chicken fried steak, and his friends enjoyed the giant juicy burgers. Service was prompt and friendly too. I can see why they are one of Merced's best. Wishing they had a soup selection though! We also tried the chocolate eclair- usually I do not like too much custard, but this one was really nice and not too sweet. I found the lemon bars a tad too sweet than tart though, the portion was good. Considering their food quality, hopefully they can offer heartier meals for lunch or early dinner eventually. Like something with rice ;-) will definitely eat here again the next time we are in merced! read more

BRUNCHFEST of the GODS! Or well in my HUMBLE opinion j love this place. They have this amazing bleu cheeseburger w/real thick crumbling cheese and delicious patties! Yum, yum, yum! But you have to add BACON or its nots even worth it. Yes it is but I just like being particular, plus their sweet potato fries are good but sometimes just fun with a salad or some tea. PRETTY sure they have cappuccino maker and different teas, they are always changing their stuff, but it's always phenomenal. read more

First off; i ordered my food/coffee to-go, so I can't fully comment on dine-in experiences. I ordered the Eggs Benedict. The staff (likely owner/manager based off of a convo.) took extra care not to overcook the poached egg by placing the hollandaise sauce on the side. Then she gave me the coffee right away, & asked if I take it w/ cream. She told me where to find the lids, etc. but hand-delivered the cream when handing me my coffee. Toni's courtyard is a hidden gem, my go to menu item is and forever will be the Mediterranean Chicken sandwich! The softness in the bread the flavor in the spread the tenderness of the chicken the touch of spinach is all a flavorful masterpiece. Paying the additional $2 for the sweet potato fries in my opinion is worth the upgrade. I personally like this sandwich so much that I have yet to challenge myself to try a different one at Tonis. 10/10 recommend! read more

I came here shortly before closing and asked if it was okay to come in and order. I was greeted by a lovely lady who led me to a table. I ordered a salad with salmon and it was very, very good. I got a free cookie (thanks Yelp!) and left thinking that I'd never come back again. The next day, my husband and I met my sister here and we had breakfast. I ordered another salad (I don't do eggs and can't do gluten), my husband ordered the steak and eggs and my sister got a collection of sides. It was a Sunday and they weren't on that menu, but my sister was able to order them. We also had some coffee. Again, the meal was quite good and tasty and the people there were really, really, nice. Seriously great tasting food! Been here twice with my bf, we've tried many food items and will continue to do so! We usually come on Sat/Sun mornings and surprisingly there has never been a wait, the customer service is good, their efficient with taking down your order, it's always looking clean, there is somewhat plenty of seating, the place is relatively small but the chairs are removable and would be ADA accessible in some areas of the restaurant. We've never been outside to the courtyard area since it's usually always on the cooler side but the photos look pretty nice! We've ordered the Eggs Benedict w/country potatoes, the banana pancakes, and regular short stack, we've also tried out the iced lattes and hot coffee, but our fav plate has to be the eggs Benedict, they are always cooked to perfection! A hidden local gem of Merced and my favorite place to grab a weekday brunch! It's no wonder this place has been voted for multiple years as the best Local Breakfast/Lunch spot! The restaurant/bakery is very quaint and cute. There's a lovely outdoor patio to enjoy and also comes with outdoor heaters for chilly days. They have a bunch of great breakfast dishes but hands down, they have one of the best Breakfast Burritos around! The sausages, hash browns, country potatoes, and eggs are all top notch!
