She also made a very delicious recommendation off the menu item called the steak Chicharrones with guacamole which were so yummy! I don't eat pork so I was very happy to enjoy chicharrones for the first time since they're beef. If you like spicy the green aguachile has a perfect level of spice. We arrived about 30 minutes before closing, so we understood that the restaurant was getting ready to close. However, we felt extremely rushed. While we were looking over the menu, the waiter kept coming back approximately every five minutes asking if we were ready to order because they were about to close. At that point, we decided we weren't going to order food. We simply had one alcoholic drink and left. We were there before closing, and we didn't expect to be rushed out the door. Stopped by earlier to finally give this place a try. We were the only ones there but it's also the day after Christmas. Instead of the tortilla chips and salsa, they give you the pinwheel chips with some Valentina sauce. I like it! It's different. We ordered the Frida y Diego and Steak/Chicken Fajitas. Both plates came with rice, beans, and a small salad. Frida y Diego - 5/5 Crispy chicken and then the shrimp cooked with a limy garlic butter sauce. It was just so so good! Highly recommend. Steak/Chicken Fajitas - 5/5 Came out sizzling and had lots of flavor too. Also can't go wrong with this option. Service was good. The place was decorated well and had nice music. Our mitchi's weren't that great very watered down... the tacos made up for it though they were so delicious and packed full of meat that by the time I got to the third on I was ready to call it quits! This place is super cute in terms of ambiance and space. You would never know until you step on in. I love the decor and the service is wonderful. They have a special on Thursdays - buy one sushi / get one free. It's actually a great fusion menu item. They have several to choose from and you can mix and match your order for the sushi on Thursdays. The other items on their menu are also very tasty and worth the trip and experience. We finally decided to try Frida's after seeing months of hype all over TikTok and social media. My wife had been wanting to go for a while, so we went on a Saturday around 6 PM with pretty high expectations. First impression walking in: a very strong Clorox/bleach smell. On the bright side, it definitely gave the impression that the place is clean, but it wasn't exactly appetizing. I would much rather smell food than cleaning chemicals while dining. Our waitress was genuinely very kind and did her best, but it was clear the staff was stretched thin. From what I could tell, there were only two employees covering around 11 tables/groups while also handling seating, drinks, bar service, food running, and general customer service. Because of that, service was understandably slower than expected. For food: I ordered buffalo wings as an appetizer (yes, at a Mexican restaurant--I wanted to try them). The fries that came with them were actually really good, but the wings came out as BBQ instead of buffalo. When I mentioned it, the waitress apologized and explained they were out of buffalo sauce. Not the end of the world, but a little disappointing. I also ordered a cantarito, which tasted good, but honestly felt like it had little to no alcohol in it. My wife ordered the aguachile and actually enjoyed it. She said the flavor was good--more lime-forward than spicy--but wished the shrimp tails had been removed beforehand. I had the chipotle chicken, which tasted good, but the portion of chicken itself felt pretty small. Pricing wasn't unreasonable, and the food wasn't bad. But with how hyped this place has been, expectations were definitely higher. The restaurant industry is tough, and I understand margins can be tight, but I think adding a little more staff support would make a noticeable difference in the overall experience. Overall: 3 stars. Not terrible, not amazing--just kind of mid. I probably wouldn't go back unless family or friends specifically wanted to. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. I really hate to leave a negative review for what seems like a family owned business, but my experience was extremely disappointing. We waited over an hour for our sushi plate. When one of the staff members came to check on us and asked if we needed anything, I politely mentioned we were still waiting for one plate. She responded with an attitude and said, "I know, we're behind," even though she was the one who approached us. When the plate finally arrived, it was intolerably spicy far beyond what was described or expected. I tried to send it back, but she refused and told me, "That's how the plate comes," without offering any solution or replacement. At a minimum, a restaurant should offer an alternative dish, especially when something is inedible. Overall, the long wait, poor service, and refusal to replace a plate I could not eat made this a very disappointing experience. I hope they improve their customer service going forward. read more

Everything was excellent! I had the Queso Fundido with chorizo and a side of beans. They offer corn or flour tortillas, made in house. All was delicious. My cousin had the chilaquiles verdes, which she deemed, also delicious. The service could not have been better. Our server, Sandra, was very attentive and what she did not know, she would find out. The restaurant is decorated in the fashion of Frida & Diego. Don't miss the decor in the restroom! I plan on returning soon and I highly recommend. We got the sushi without cream cheese and it tasted amazing! Will have to come back soon to try other dishes. Our 1st time. Anniversary dinner, thought we would try something new. Casa Frida has a good, welcoming vibe. Started with a holiday drink Mrs. Claus. Wish I would have taken pics. We went for a work team luncheon and a co-worker who is very limited on what she can eat wanted to order from kids menu and was told she couldn't. Service was sucks! We were the only ones there (6 of us) and still took long bringing food out. Not once did they come check on us to see if we needed anything. We had to get up ourselves to ask for refills.
