Good Chinese eat in and take-out is a rarity in Wayne, but Tommy Cheng's is one of the few exceptions. Tucked away in a little strip mall near Kohl's on Route 23, the interior is dated but cozy, table service is fast, and everything is prepared & served quickly. Beef, chicken & pork dishes are always delicious and small plate appetizers very tasty. Really good food & reasonable prices make this a real gem when you need to satisfy your Chinese food cravings.

Delivery was super fast. BEST crab rangoon I have ever had ! Egg roll was also delicious. General Tso chicken, amazing, so why only 4 stars ? The fried rice... Yellow rice w bean sprouts IS NOT fried rice, and I am a huge fried rice fan, so that was disappointing.. But overall, pretty darn good food

What a nice surprise...Checking my morning emails, I saw a Groupon for this Asian BYOB, located right near evening shopping and errands. I checked out some reviews and decided it was worth giving a try...So glad we did :) It's warm contemporary decor was nice, and at 6:30, better than half the restaurant was seated...It holds about 20 tables or so. It took a few minutes to be seated, since the hostess took the take out orders and helped clear tables, and there were only two waitresses working the floor...which meant service was a little rough, but totally tolerable. We shared some hand rolls to start and collectively gave them a "B"...the nori it was wrapped with was a little dry and chewy. For our meals, we figured a standard general's chicken is always a good gauge of this sort of restaurant and it's my 9 yr old's favorite. Love that we could request white meat only...Between that, the preparation and an awesome sauce, it was a winner :) We had it with brown rice for the extra charge and got a side of lo mien, which was also cooked perfectly, and not greasy at all. My husband ordered the beef and scallops in a brown sauce, and thoroughly enjoyed himself as well. I tasted it, and was impressed with the balanced flavors of the sauce, and the tenderness of the beef. We skipped on dessert because there wasn't much to choose from, and close to home, we have a hard time making sense of paying $4.50 for a couple of scoops of ice cream ;) By the time we left there was a wait about 4 tables deep. It's worth checking out if you're local, for sure. It's decor and quality is nice, but it may be a little too loud for a date. Note to Business: Dimming the lights a bit and putting some votives out would be a good add, because it helps to soften the ambiance when the place has that much volume... :)

Pan fried noodles with chicken, beef and shrimp

Bought a groupon to try this place out. Small inside, waitresses didn't speak much English but food was decent. We tried the shrimp tempura which only came with 2 pieces and 3 tempura veggies. Would have liked to have a couple more shrimp. We had to ask for noodles and duck sauce, guess they are just not brought to the table. For our entrees I had the pan fried noodles with chicken, shrimp and beef. It was very tasty. Also came with a side of white rice. My husband got the steak and chicken hibachi dinner which came with soup, salad and white rice. He said it was average. As an Fyi they do not give you free refills on drinks. Also there was a yelp check in offer so we will be back to try some other menu items and use the discount.

    Singapore Mei Fun. Terrific!

What struck us first, is the clean, modern, almost minimalist lines of what seems to be a "hole in the wall" type eatery. It's spacious, with shades of gray, nice tile, and comfortable seating. I began with a two roll sushi platter $8.75, the lunch special. I even had the Singapore Mei fun, which was absolutely delicious. It was just spicy enough, and there were hardly any traces of oil left on the plate. The noodles were perfectly done, and there was plenty of shrimp to enjoy. I recommend this place, for lunch or dinner, and they also present a nice variety of Japanese and Thai foods. The only draw back, is that their service is a little bit under par, but in this case, because the food is so good, I can let it slide.

I've ordered mostly take out here and love the pineapple 5 Hai rice with brown and purple rice cashews and veggies. It's full of wholesome goodness and flavor. I also dined in and will say the service isn't so speedy, but the food is great! It's my go to local take spot. I'd recommend it to everyone!

my mom and her shrimp pad thai and almost done lobster sushi

Delicious pad Thai (I ordered beef for delivery the day before and my mom had the shrimp when we went there) me, my mom, and the kids enjoyed dining here. It wasn't packed and the place was big. We started off with the lobster sushi then my son ordered the fried chicken wings and he finish the whole plate with steamed rice. Big servings (we didn't finish everything except for the sushi and chicken) and they were all good. The crew were nice and friendly.

    Sashimi Regular

Pretty decent food! My friends and I were visiting from out of town, and this was one of the restaurants near our hotel. The restaurant is small, but very quiet and not crowded. Our table of 5 was seated comfortably at a round booth in the corner. I ordered a Spicy Tuna Roll and the Sashimi Regular [which came with soup and salad]. All of the food was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. My friend ordered a "Sushi Sandwich" appetizer, which I wish I ordered. The flavor combinations were great, and the dish was unlike anything I could get at home. It was kind of like a flat sushi roll cut into quarters. Sounds weird, but the layers of fish, veggies, and sauce made it delicious. My sashimi and spicy tuna were great, I have no complaints. I noticed that there are Chinese and Thai entrees along with the Japanese entrees; I can't speak for those, but I had a great experience with my sushi entrees. Overall, good food, nice staff, would definitely visit again if I came back through town.

Food is ok. They have a large variety of Chinese, and Japanese including sushi. In my experience the Japanese is better than the Chinese.

Reasonably priced Chinese food. Not bad either. They deliver and make the food quickly. They have coupons on the menus. Use them.

One of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had…read more Let me start by saying this is no longer a BYOB restaurant, despite giving every impression that it still is. There is no clear notice that they now have a liquor license, yet they charge a $10 corkage fee per bottle--or require one drink per person to waive the fee. This feels misleading from the start. After a long and frustrating discussion with our waitress--who couldn't clearly explain the policy--a man (who never identified himself as a manager or in any official role) came over. Even after more back-and-forth, the policy remained unclear until we were told definitively: one drink per person to waive the cork fee. By that point, we had already purchased a drink. We decided to stay, as we've dined here many times before without issues. Unfortunately, things only got worse. We specifically asked for our appetizers and entrees to be timed separately. Instead, our main courses arrived while we were still halfway through our appetizers. Then came the biggest issue: the beef teriyaki. The meat was inedible--extremely undercooked, with a bloody taste and raw interior. We immediately stopped eating and called the waitress over. She told us, quite confidently, that it was filet mignon. It absolutely was not. We asked to speak again with the same gentleman. When questioned, he immediately contradicted her and said it was not filet mignon--but then admitted he didn't know what cut of meat it actually was. He went to the kitchen and came back still unable to identify it, only saying it was "beef." At that point, offering us ice cream as compensation felt almost insulting. We asked for the dish to be removed from the bill. Instead, the waitress returned with three cups of vanilla ice cream--and the charge for the dish was still on the bill. We paid and left, including a 20% tip for the waitress, as the issues seemed more systemic than entirely her fault. Be advised: this is not a BYOB restaurant anymore, and based on this experience, I would strongly recommend proceeding with caution.

We were very excited to discover Malay nearby in Morristown, and we had to check it out. We ordered the Malay Prawn Mee, Chicken Sambal, and the Roti Canai. Roti Canai is one of my favorite Malaysian dishes, but this didn't quite hit the spot. The roti wasn't soft and dip-able. It was kind of flaky and kept falling apart every time I tried to use it to scoop up some curry. The curry was a little watery and not all that flavorful, and I defintiely would've appreciated more than just one or two chunks of potato and chicken. The chicken sambal and soup were additionally a bit disappointing. The chicken sambal was just okay for me, and the flavor didn't really blow me out of the water. It almost felt like something I could make at home. The soup similarly did not have a particularly rich or flavorful broth, and left me a little dissapointed. Another thing that really influences my review is how cold it was inside. It got even colder when people opened and closed the door. It was so cold that our food didn't seem hot. I think the cold air cooled it off instantly and we were left eating room temperature chicken and soup.
