I just adopted a big 2 year old puppy and came here at the recommendation of the animal shelter. This place was amazing. The staff was so helpful with me and answered alllll my questions. Took their time. Explained things as I've never had a big dog. And they are family owned based in Austin. Tomlinson's customer service is impeccable but so is their thoughtfulness. Yesterday, I requested our delivery be adjusted because one of our 3 dogs recently passed away after his short battle with cancer. An incredible level of customer service, they bend over backwards to take care of your dog. Both of our pups are very picky eaters, they primarily eat one specific brand that became scare during the pandemic. I love this store and shop here 2-4 times a month. They tend to retain employees, and there is a very smart and helpful young man there who has lots useful information to give about their products. I don't know his name but he has long hair with beautiful blue eyes. Most recently I was looking for a tug toy for my 10 month old Catahoula dog. I was overwhelmed with the choices and asked him for the best one and he selected one I didn't even see which was stretchy with four arms and unlike all the rest and he said dogs love it. Well, my dog does love it. It is his favorite toy now, and I wouldn't have spotted it without this young man's help. Also, he remembers my dog when I bring him into the store and is always so friendly to him My wife and I love Tomlinson's. We are so glad to have them in Lakeway. She used to work at Bark 'N' Purr ages ago and knows a lot about pet food. When we are in Tomlinson's, she finds that the staff are equally if not more knowledgeable than she is about ingredients and types of foods. Great place with healthy food options for your pets. They only purchase higher end options that are mostly grain free but some that aren't. They also have great treat, premade raw and toy options. If you plan to buy your pet's food from there regularly, it makes sense to pay their $7.50 annual membership fee to get discounts on the food. All of their staff are knowledgeable if you need help on determining what food to get your 4- legged family member. They also have some adoption events on occasion so keep an eye on those if you happen to be looking for your next best friend! read more

I have never experienced such amazing customer service before. I've been ordering delivery from this company for a couple years and they are always so helpful and nice. I can't believe same day delivery is free especially for not being super close to me. I just placed another delivery order but there was a glitch in the system so it put my order as curbside pick up. 30 seconds later, I get a text from them asking if I meant for it to be delivery since that's what I normally do. I stopped into this Tomlinson's this past weekend while waiting for my Papa Murphy's Pizza a few doors down and was very impressed as always with their staff. I have shopped at this location before and was just planning on doing some window shopping since my under socialized foster dog was barking her head off in the car. The employee who greeted me asked me to bring the "barker' in since there were no other dogs in the shop. I was not planning on shopping for dog food but the awesome guy working on 2/5/11 talked me into a 43 LB bag of Honest Kitchen Keen at only $52.37 with my discount.... Got home and read the bag "All our recipes are made with 100% human grade ingredients" I will be back for sure! AND hope one of those AWESOME 149.00 Dog Pillows are in our future because I would love one for myself!!!! read more

I came in this store today looking for new dog food and doggie steps for my senior min schnauzer. She had an episode an now has trouble jumping up to go through the doggie door and also has decided she doesn't like her boring dry dog food. She loved the Candidae canned food, and I'm hoping she will get used to her doggie steps. So, after having to leave what is probably the best dog supply store in the entire world in Chicago, I didn't think I'd find anyplace that I'd be happy with in Austin. Glad to be able to say that I was wrong. I ran across this place by accident and decided to stop in because I was running low on my bebe's food of choice. I was so pleased to see that they not only carried the ultra-premium brand he eats, but that it costs less here. Tomlinson's also offers a discount card, which made sense for me based on the amount of food I buy. Now I can get my bebe's Stella and Chewy's and his Origens locally and at better prices than I was paying before. Plus, they were super nice and helpful. read more

I'm typically not a big fan of pet stores. I avoid the big name super-pet stores like PetCo and PetSmart like it's my job. I would never bring my dog to one of those super stores for sure. A neighborhood pet store is a different story though. New to the area I decided to check out Tomlinson's and was happy I did. The store is clean, well laid out and has a fantastic offering of food, treats, toys, etc. The store is clean, doesn't smell like an old cat ladies house or any overwhelming pet smell for that matter. The staff is friendly and eager to help you find what you're looking for - if you want help. They offer a membership that entitles you to a rather significant discount on food and while their food selection might not be as big as a warehouse stores or online store - it is not small by any means and they carry some of the best, cleanest brands of food. They are also dog friendly - which might sound funny but I've been to small (boutique) pet stores that don't actually allow/want you to bring her four-legged friend into the shop. If you're a pet parent and live in the area, I suggest stopping by. Amazon delivery is convenient but if you find your brand of food here you aren't likely to find a better deal online (if you have a membership) and you'll also be supporting a local business. I've shopped at Tomlinson's for a number of years, always with a mediocre experience until the store in Lakeway, TX opened it's doors. My experience began in a rather pleasant manner. I was greeted by an older blond woman and a young, trim, brunette gal. Both were very accommodating and welcomed me with smiles. As I began to make my way to the rear of the store to pick up my bag of Holistic Select dog food that I religiously buy, I noticed a heavy set woman who appeared to be the manager raising her voice with a fellow customer over what sounded like a return. I didn't think much of it until the same woman commanded one of her employees follow her to the back where she spoke in a very condescending manner regarding the above mentioned incident. I didn't want to pry, so I made my way to the front of the store where I purchased my items from the congenial young woman behind the counter. As I finished my purchase, I observed the manager pugnaciously attempt to argue with the same employee. This kind of behavior form upper-management is unacceptable and allowed me to form my current opinion on Tomlinson's in general. I will never shop at Tomlinson's again, and I will support other local businesses such as Paleface Feed and Pet in Spicewood, TX. Stay away from Lakeway Tomlinson's unless you want a Jerry Springer-like encounter. read more

Tomlinson's not only carries a variety of pet food, Lakeway's Tomlinsons's has the best customer service I've encountered in a very long time. John is friendly, always offers to help me find products and has a great deal of experience and knowledge about the products. I have cats that have kidney disease, allergies, etc. so John recommended a few, giving me information on each product. I shop at Tomlinson's regularly because of the outstanding customer service. read more

my pups are so thankful for tomlinson's! this place delivers the sort of customer service any pet owner wants. i came in to buy some new, high quality food for one of my dogs that was having skin allergies. we selected a brand and i was told that if it didn't help my dog's condition, i could bring it back and exchange it. 3 weeks later, my dogs skin was better, but he was suffering from digestive issues. not only did they exchange the half eaten bag of food for another brand that they recommended, they refunded me the difference in price. on top of that the employee (manager?) gave me a suggestion to add pumpkin to the food to aid with stomach problems (something our vet never mentioned). and it worked! you won't find customer service or a staff this knowledgeable and caring at other pet stores. tomlinson's is worth every penny. read more

I went in to Tomlinson's looking for a new food for my dog. We just found out he is allergic to chicken. I told the sales person that I need a food and some treats with NO chicken, that my dog is allergic. They said no problem and that they had several options for me. They showed me some food and I grabbed the one they recommend to be the best. When I got to the counter I was reading the ingredients and saw that the 5th ingredient was Chicken. I pointed it out to the sales person and he had no idea. He seemed confused. I don't think he had ever read the ingredient list, just assumed since the first ingredient was lamb it had to be chicken free. I looked at the other food that he had also pointed out as being Chicken free and it also had Chicken listed as the 6-7th ingredient. He had nothing to say to me when I pointed that out too. I left and went to store where the employees are actually trained and educated on the food they sell. read more
