If I could give a 0, I would. I signed up for a teeth cleaning appointment. Called ahead and let them know I'd be a few minutes late due to traffic on Mopac and they said it was no problem and they'd see me when I got there. Drove an hour and 15 min through traffic to get there and I arrive 13 minutes after my appointment time and they said they already left for the day. What a poor way to treat customers. read more

This new Tomlinson's location is on average with the others.... They sell super premium pet food and you get a discount if you buy into their discounted membership but I will not pay a $5 fee per year when I can purchase the same dog food for cheaper else where in Austin.... I feed my large breed dogs Orijen Regional Fish formula and at 74.64 per bag at Tomlinson's that = about 200.00 more per year than what I would pay where I purchase their Orijen. They also sell bulk bin smoked/dried beef ribs.... any bone that is not RAW is a huge potential choking/intestinal blockage Dog Parent nightmare - why they sell these bones is beyond my comprehension..... They do have 4 freezers with quality Raw! They have some very nice leather collars that are currently discounted 50%! Worth a visit if you live in the area.... read more

We've owned some cats that developed very particular tastes for food, and thanks to the extensive selection of canned cat food at Tomlinson's, we were able to keep those cats fed for many years. They have a discount club that costs $7 per year. If you shop there even just a few times, you'll easily save that through the 10% discount applied to each purchase. Since I moved out here to the 'burbs about ten years ago, I've had to schedule periodic trips into town to buy the high quality, grain-free dog food my rescue dogs deserve. Tomlinson's opening in the Four Points HEB shopping center has relieved me of this tedious task, along with eliminating the carbon emissions that such a trip would produce. Winning! I found out years ago that preventing animal health problems starts with a healthy diet, which is cheaper than vet bills in the long run. Tomlinson's carries a wide range of quality dry and canned dog and cat foods, along with a selection of raw foods, treats and useful pet paraphernalia. I find the prices pretty comparable to Petco and PetSmart, but the food quality is superior. They also run monthly specials and will put you on their emailing list to alert you. They have a customer appreciation discount card available for $5/year that gives you 10% off each purchase. If you're going to be a regular, this is well worth it. The friendly young people who work there are clearly animal lovers and are quick to help customers with their food and other wares. I found a new, locally produced line of dry dog food (Nulo) that my dog loves. This is an Austin company with roots that reach back to 1946. So if you're close to the Four Points area, check them out. read more

We (the pup and I) absolutely LOVE coming to this location! We are welcomed with greetings and support as soon as we step in the store! The staff are extremely knowledgeable of their products and always provide me with the best information pertaining to my pup :) My pup absolutely loves coming here. The team at the Four Points store is amazing! I came in completely frazzled because we were on the 5 brand of food that my Doodles were refusing to eat. I should have started at Tomlinson's instead of ending at Tomlinson's. I would have save a lot of money and spared myself the endless hours of cooking chicken and rice for my crazy Doods. Thank you for the recommendation. You listened to what was going on and made suggestions based on what I told you. I like Tomlinson's - I really do The only thing that is a HUGE turnoff is being followed around in the store and constantly being given unsolicited advice - if I ASK for advice then yes - please - fire away - but if I have told you "no I don't need help" and you follow me and I tell you "no I am not interested in XYZ product you are trying to sell to me" - this means go away. There is no need for the upsell, people - we are there because you offer excellent quality products - I have literally speed walked away from one of their sales people who followed me down 2 aisles pestering me about products and sales and trying to ask what my pets eat. I feel bad because now I am brisk and downright rude when I go in just so I will be left alone - On that note there is a fine line to be walked between recommending a product to someone and outright playing veterinarian and diagnosing an issue - Tomlinson's is a wonderful store with selections that sell themselves - let the customer be themselves and stop giving unsolicited advice and do not play doctor. read more

Great service!! I really enjoy going to this location to get my puppy food/treats. The staff is very pet friendly obviously, very knowledgeable regarding their products. They always have something special to offer whether its a new product, donation, or fundraiser for the not so fortunate animals. My last visit they had raised over 85,000lbs. of food in a fundraiser benefiting local non-profit rescues and shelters!! Always appreciated!! read more

I am very disappointed that this store has gone so far downhill. The staff turnover in the past year has led to its decline. Two of the salespeople, Roselle and Lila, have given me incorrect product information and seemed extremely stressed. There is an unpleasant atmosphere, stemming from dissension among the staff. If I am paying extra for excellent customer service/knowledge, then the company should measure up. Unfortunately, they don't. I won't be returning. read more

I have never written a Yelp review, or any review before, but I was at this Tomlinson's today to buy some dog food and have been reading so much about peas/legumes in dog foods and the Taurine deficiency which could possibly be causing cancer in our Golden Retrievers, and I had the absolute pleasure of talking to Chris Siebert, who is a relatively new employee there, and his helpfulness was off the charts! I want to commend him for his amazing customer service, knowledge, and kindness. I hope Tomlinson's will read this and give him the accolades he is so deserving of. I agree with another reviewer that the prices can be quite high. However, the location is perfect for me, the customer service really good and I love the quality of the products - especially the food. Origens is a great product along with Stella and Chewy's which my dog loves. They do promote sales and the opportunity to save a lot. There is a large selection of toys and other accessories as well. I will definitely continue to go back to Tomlinson's! read more

They carry a lot of high quality natural, raw, healthy foods and products that you can't find in your regular pet store (or grocery store). I don't find their prices unreasonable and I have found that some of their products were actually cheaper than shopping online. The store is convenient for me and I love to support local businesses. One of my favorite places to go to get information and great stuff for my furry friends. The staff here is amazing they're all super informed about the products that they sell as well as information about how to best care for your pets. My sweet furry baby is a 15-year-old Lhasa and she require some special care in regard to a special diet as well as supplements for her overall health the staff here and helped us find so many amazing products that you're not gonna find in the big chain stores like target and Walmart, great products from companies that care about pets. Also the staff has been amazing on several occasions when we needed help, we found an injured bird and I couldn't leave it to perish in the Texas heat. We called the store and their staff was so kind they gave us a couple of numbers of places that could take the bird as well as preparing a box with newspaper in it for us so that we could transport the feathered one they were so kind and calling them for help was not something that they were going to turn down. Everybody who works here really cares about animals which is why this is one of our favorite places to go for our baby. Also I would totally give them five stars but I think when you give five for some reason your review doesn't get posted so I give four but should totally be five. read more

Very helpful staff! My dog has been having some stomach issues lately so my husband and I went in to find a new food for her to try. The person that helped us was great! She talked to us about what kind of issues our pup is having and broke down the ingredients in different brands and why some dogs react poorly to them. She gave us advice on how to switch her over and gave us a variety of price options. We learned more from her than our vet. These folks know their industry so don't be shy about telling them what you are looking for. read more
