You won't find a better tree service than Tomahawk Tree Service! Let me tell you about our experience. We live on a really steep wooded hill. Some of our trees are hundreds of feet tall. At the top of the hill only yards from our our was a beautiful red oak. This tree was soooo huge that it provided a canopy for our entire house. Then one day last summer we noticed brown leaves at the top of one of the branches. We prayed that it would flush out the next spring. It didn't! After a 2 week vacation we returned to find that part of the tree that was green when we left was now brown. We knew we needed to act since this tree was leaning toward our neighbor's house below. We called at least 7 tree services. Two services actually came to give us a bid. One service was very casual and spit out a verbal estimate. We never heard from them again. I think the other tree services came a looked at the tree and turned around and left without even so much as a phone call. Then John from Tomahawk came and looked and gave us a written estimate which much less that the other service. I'm talking $1500 less. We scheduled a time to have the tree removed. When Edwardo, their climber saw the tree he said we can't do this job today. It presents too much danger to the homeowners and the house below. It was decided that a crane would have to be used and access the tree from the street. Bob went to work finding the right crane company and operator after being told that this job could not be done. Well, today I arrived home early to see this crew in action. It was UNBELIEVABLE to watch them work. Edwardo is a master climber. Glen, the crane operator with Phoenix Crane worked with such precision I was mesmerized! It took several weeks to get everything coordinated, but it was worth the wait. Bob worked diligently to keep the costs down and our final cost was very close to the original estimate, considering the cost of the crane. We will rest a lot easier and I know our neighbors will also knowing that this very dangerous tree is gone. Thanks, Tomahawk for a job well done. read more

Given the reviews on this page I was unsure about contracting with these guys. I have used them before for general tree trimming and had a very positive experience so recently I contracted with them for removal and stumping of several large trees. I compared prices with several vendors and chose Tomahawk. Due to the warnings in other reviews I made sure I was present during their work. They did everything I asked for quickly and professionally. They did not damage anything and were very communicative during the process. They offered to leave wood chips if I wanted them (i did) and they cleaned up after the job. The bobcat driver removed large logs from my backyard without damaging the lawn ( even though it was soggy) and cleaned up my driveway afterwards----their fee was slightly less than others . I would use these people again but I would be present when they did the work for a safeguard. The trees I had removed were on the property line and close to structures. They removed them without any mishaps. read more

So I was surprised to find a lot of negative reviews here, but I can only share my experience and it was great. I had a huge red oak come down and take a bunch of trees with it and his crew did solid work on a difficult and somewhat dangerous job. The tree was suspended over a fence and though they tried their best, a portion of the trunk came down and crushed two sections. i pretty much assumed this would happen because the whole thing was basically a seven ton jenga set that was ready to drop. Bob the owner is a very reasonable guy and agreed to fix the crushed sections of fence no questions asked. In fact I came home to find him personally supervising the fix. His crew also took down a very tall and very dead tree between my house and the neighbor's fence. From my house to the fence is 32' - they brought it down vertically with no issues. Overall his crew also did a bit more than they probably had to, and at a price that was very competitive. bottom line - I will be using Tomahawk going forward. read more

Great company!! Great People!!! I had a very complex tree issue. One that I thought could not be taken care of without destroying my yard and possibly my home. I called Tomahawk and Bob came out to take a look at the trees. He informed me that the job would be complicated but nothing that they couldn't handle. Bob sent his crew out and I was highly impressed with the way the approached the job. The climber Zack knew exactly what he was doing. I watched as they removed the trees that I thought were going to destroy my home. I could not have been happier with the service and the respect that this company showed me and my family. I would recommend Tomahawk to all of my friends!!! GREAT JOB TOMAHAWK!!! Thanks Bob for all the help!!! read more

We were getting quotes to have a very large sweet gum tree cut down. I obtained 7 quotes, 4 doing it the manual way and 3 using a crane. The sales rep for Tomahawk was by far the most punctual and observant of the tree location and property layout. . After checking BB,Yelp & Google, we went with Tomahawk. Before schedule, the owner came out to double check difficulty of tree (as it was very large & close to neighbor's house) Could not have asked or wanted better service. The crew were very dedicated workers. From start to finish it was amazing at how well everyone teamed together and done, clean up & all within 4 hours. My neighbors even commented on what good clean up they did. Glenda D. Marietta Ga read more

My experience with Tomahawk has been a very positive one. They removed a large tree exactly as they said they would, for the competitive price they quoted, and were professional and timely throughout the entire process - from initial quote to billing. The tree was in a tight location with a two-story garage below it. There was no damage whatsoever and Tomahawk was careful to place the wood in an out-of-the way area until they could remove it a day or two later. Moreover, I found Bob, the owner, to be considerate, practical, and helpful with other unrelated landscaping considerations. I am currently evaluating having two other trees removed - and will use Tomahawk. read more

I was referred to Tomahawk by a neighbor down the street. I looked them up on Facebook and saw that they had been around for over 25 years. I went ahead and scheduled an estimate the same week I called which was great. I thought the price was reasonable but I called around to get some other quotes too. After reviewing everything Tomahawk had the best price so I went with them . I was really pleased that they were able to remove one fallen bradford pear and pruned a few more in the back! They came out and removed the pieces and the crew was quick and organized. I would recommend them to a friend looking for great service and price! read more

I needed two trees removed from my yard along with pruning of a tree in the back yard that is coming toward the house. I received several quotes and even though Tomahawk was not the lowest I was most impressed with the knowledge of the salesman. I had the work scheduled and the crew showed in the morning of the day and immediately got to work. They worked quickly and efficiently while taking care of other trees and plants. I certainly will not hesitate to use Tomahawk again and recommend them to others. read more

We had a tree fall on a Friday evening and was leaning against our house. After calling another company, with no return call, we called Tomahawk on Saturday. Happened to be the only day we've had snow all year. Had someone out within the hour to make sure all was ok and there was no damage to our house. Came back first thing Monday morning and took care of everything. Stayed in touch, did great work, cleaned up nicely. Will definitely use them if needed again. read more

We had several dead trees and 80-90 ft pines in our backyard. We had excellent customer service and the crew was top notch. We back up to a daycare and the entire job was very high risk. Nothing was damaged and the crew cleaned up before leaving. I will use them again for the front yard and will recommend them to all my friends and family. No complaints from us. I have used Bob and his crew at Tomahawk for nearly 5 years and recently used CheapScapes (his landscape division) as well. I have nothing but praise for the work that was done and the price that was charged. I have recommended Tomahawk to friends and neighbors and everyone has been more than satisfied. Sorry to hear that others were dissatisfied but I was not among them. Amy S. read more

The owner Bob is the worst business person I have come in contact to date!!!! Tries to be nice up front, low qoute etc.... but LOOK OUT!!! You could do better by calling Craigslist, picking up some day labor on the street or lighting some cash on fire! Also think he knows it all! STAY FAR AWAY!!! read more
