That said, I not thrilled with my experience.  I used the tree grinder he recommended, and ordered a tree from the garden center he recommended, and the outcome was OK, but not amazing. Carlos did a phenomenal job removing the old tree that I was replacing, I have no criticisms there.  If you're just looking for tree removal, I can absolutely say he did great work. As far as the stump grinder he recommended (Aaron G.), I don't know if that person was less diligent than Carlos, or if the sudden heavy rain we had in the middle of the job made it difficult to do a great job, or if he did everything right.  What I do know is that the new cherry blossom tree that was replacing the old tree was planted higher up and closer to the sidewalk than the old tree it was replacing, and I can't help but wonder if Carlos had no choice but to work around the roots of the old tree. Carlos did pick up the tree from Scottsdale Farm, and installed it the same day as the old tree was removed.  While the tree looks healthy enough, Carlos brought two areas to my attention where he was concerned.   He asked if I had any roof primer (or something similar) to paint over the exposed area and protect the tree.  I said I didn't, but that I would be happy to pay him if he could swing back by and apply what he thought was most appropriate to protect the tree.  As he continued to look at the two spots on the tree, he told me he was concerned about the tree, and that if it was up to him, he would replace it.  He said Scottsdale Farm was generally good about these things, and he would take photos, speak with them, and see what they were willing to do.  He said he'd follow up with me the next day. The week that followed this install is where I felt most disappointed.  I had to repeatedly reach out to Carlos, who would generally say he'd respond later that day or the next morning, and usually did not.  I spoke with Scottsdale Farm, who said they'd speak with Carlos and look at his photos when spoke with them.  Ultimately, Carlos did call me back and say Scottsdale Farm said the tree was healthy, and they didn't see anything concerning enough to replace the tree.  I again asked if he could swing by to apply whatever he felt was most appropriate to protect the areas of the tree we were concerned about, and got a yes, but Carlos never returned. I believe Carlos was suggesting I get some bricks to put up a retaining wall near the sidewalk, but that wasn't super clear, and I was hoping to get some more clarity when he came back, and I genuinely believe he was intending to return after our post-install conversation.  That said, the follow up just wasn't there. I think this is a hardworking guy who means well, but I'm a bit disappointed in the follow up, and wish things had gone smoother both the day of the job and the days after.

He told me 4 different times that he would come by to finish the work and never showed up. Again it took Caros more than 5 weeks to come back and finish a job he was supposed to finish in one week. He lied to me because he was supposed to have purchase the grass that needed to be installed but every time he kept saying that he needed to go get the grass. Even now two weeks after he removed a stomp of weed/tress I just found a deep root so no wonder the weeds kept coming back.

The owner was professional and punctual when he came to look at the trees to give me an estimate. He ended up advising to cut a third tree down because it was right next to the creek that runs behind our house and the roots were exposed and it could come down if the ground got too wet. This is the reason we took down the other trees. He gave us a very good quote compared to the guys that came after. They arrived on time on the day of the service. They even had to take my fence down and did it seamlessly. They took care of my property as well as the plant and grass in the area. When they got finished they left my yard clean of any debris and they put my fence back up to where it looks like nothing ever happened. I have a yard full of trees and this company will definitely be my go to when I need the next tree down.

I heard horror stories of $16,000 removals and saw a swinging crane knock down my neighbor's chimney with a huge suspended log. My tree problem wasn't as big of a deal. I was lucky. That said, I called a few places and they either didn't want to be bothered by a 25 year old Leyland cypress over my sunroom, or wouldn't come out for a quote for a week, then said they'd schedule me for JANUARY (2 months later). I called Cathy in the afternoon and she booked Chris to give a quote in the morning. I hadn't had many quotes, but they were all above my comfort -- obviously there was plenty of work out there for months to come. Chris told me he could cut it safely and haul it for the lowest price. He also had a guy who would eliminate the stump and upturned roots for $100. But how long would I have to wait? "We can do it tomorrow afternoon between jobs." They brought a crew of 6 and saved my fence in the process (the tree was leaning over my fence, within two inches of the top). 4 of them hauled sections while two managed/climbed/cut. Chris came in to check and give instructions at the start and at the end of the project. He also reviewed the completion to make sure it was to my satisfaction. On the way out, at my prompting, he gave me some quotes on standing trees that I may want to take down in February when it's cheapest. Above and beyond: Since this was a neighbor's tree, Chris gave me good recommendations on what needed to happen with the remaining 15 Leylands that look at the end of their lifespan, crafted a letter for me to use as a template, and worked with me to make our 50/50 neighbor split easy. They kept in phone and text communication any time I had a question. He even wore a mask for our review without my request. Bonus: His stump grinder contact was reliable and reached out the next day without any prompting. Now it's like nothing happened! I hope to never have to call them again, but if I need some trees cut down, I'll call Cathy and Chris.

Trees too close to our home and brand new roof. We were contacted immediately and they came out, discussed our wishes and gave us recommendations. They came up with a plan and quickly executed the plan accordingly. I can't say enough about how nice this couple are, and how they worked us into a schedule as quick as they could. Their pricing was good as well! The did a great job, cleaned up afterwards, and even left choice logs for me to use for firewood upon my request. Very professional and courteous crew.
