My server was super friendly and brought me water and menu. I chose the clam chowder and fish sandwich. The chowder had a good taste, lots of clams in each bite. Fish sandwich covered the bun, was super moist. Came with tartar sauce and a setup. Inside was seasonally decorated with fall/halloween theme, was very cute. Glad the food is as good as I remember it.

Parking 5/5 Arrived at 10ish. Busy lot in strip mall with shared parking. No problem finding parking. Atmosphere 5/5 Lots of Country and Patriotic splash throughout. It may take you a minute to take it all in but it's fun and comfortable here. The place was bustling with patrons and the waiting list was growing with some waiting outside. The restaurant has multiple dining rooms and larger than you might think from the outside. With the assistance of the hostess we've took the room immediately to the right to accommodate our large party of 9. . Service 5/5++ Today's we were served by Madison our ambassador for our group today. She was all smiles and provided our large group with a superb breakfast experience. Our group all selected a wide variety of breakfast items and Madison had it all timed well from the kitchen which says allot about her but also the amazing kitchen getting the groups orders out! Everyone enjoyed their breakfast. I chose their Mushroom and Swiss omelette, country style potato's, pan fried jalapeños with wheat bread toast. Cozy Corner Cafe, Madison did a great job for us today and are officially on my Yelp Radar for Breakfast! The restaurant itself gives off more of a farmhouse-y, homey vibe, as opposed to a traditional, vintage diner. All the same, it was a comfortable place to get a bite. The portions were generous and I quite enjoyed the Southern Breakfast that I ordered. The Southern Breakfast consisted of sausage patties and eggs atop a biscuit and smothered in country gravy. It was a hearty meal and also delicious. I sampled a bite of my sister's pancakes as well and they were incredibly tasty. Our server was so sweet and knowledgable on the menu. I will absolutely return here for future meals--great spot!

Serving hearty, made-to-order breakfast and lunch fare every Thursday - Sunday from 7am - 2pm, every cent earned will be used to support The Joy Bus, a local charity that's been bringing chef-inspired meals and caring conversations to cancer patients Valley-wide. I ordered a grab bag of 5 ready to go meals through the Too Good To Go App to try something new. I got beef barley stew which was a great tasty quick meal for dinner and some enchiladas for lunch today. Simple and perfect. They have a plant stand inside and plenty of seating. Busy little area.

Per my usual, I tried the chilaquiles. I forgot to request the brisket and I really feel that addition would complete the dish. The chilaquiles were crispy, dipped in a red sauce, on a small bed of beans. The egg was nicely cooked. The one thing I did not enjoy was that they were cold. I would go back and try something different. The biscuits looked amazing. Service was very friendly and professional. The morning we visited was early and was not very busy. I'm not sure if it would be a loud environment on a busy day.

We love Welcome Diner, and have been here many times. It is definitely not fancy, but it is exactly…read morewhat it should be. It feels very hipster and very retro and it just has so much personality. There is a lot of outdoor seating in what is essentially a front yard. There are tables and string lights and lots of trees and there are even a couple of playground horses. When you walk in there is a hostess desk kind of pieced together with different pieces of furniture and above it is a turning disco ball. Could there be anything better? There are booths all the way around, and there are no tables - - but you can sit at the long counter and watch your food being made. That really is the best place to sit because it is so interesting to watch them. It's amazing to me that they can keep all those balls in the air and still make all this food so delicious. There is a small bar off to one side. Make sure you go to the bathroom. The bathroom is nothing special, just a room full of graffiti and stickers, but if you look up you'll see the ceiling covered with little pinatas and a little donkey in the hallway. The menu is just what you would think for a diner menu. You can order breakfast or some sandwiches, burgers, Mac and cheese, and there is a selection of dinner entrees. Sitting at the counter we saw a plate with a steak being prepared and it looked absolutely fantastic. We were not really very hungry, and just wanted a quick small bite. Have you got that Welcome Burger, and I got the Sasha. Hubby said his Burger was good, although it was quite small. The Sasha has smoked pork and they put the pork on the grill and it becomes a crispy kind of Patty of shredded pork, then they put the crispy shredded pork patty on a noble bun with coleslaw and a fantastic horseradish sauce. My sandwich was a 10 out of 10 for sure! I kind of feel like in Phoenix there are some areas that you can go to or not, but welcome diner is a place that everybody should go to at least once. I really want to go back for breakfast which is kind of shocking because I'm not a breakfast person.

My only suggestion would be to add a couple strips of bacon or sausage on the side to balance out all the sweetness. The chicken fried steak was also really good, it tasted quality and homemade, not like something frozen and reheated. The gravy had flavor, the eggs were cooked nicely, and the biscuit was great too. Everything felt comforting and made with care.

But I can judge simply food or filet a trout or chicken and add a homemade beurre blanc sauce. I like simple red wine but relish a Camus anniversary bottle. We eat at hole in the walls and expensive places. But often we look at each other and choose between Dennys or VI, and are happy! Today, May 16th at VI on Signal Butte - rough start by a waitress who told both of us "I need to know your pie order. NOW." Resturant was not busy. Not at all. It was 4:15 maybe. Slow on a SUNDAY post-winter visitor rush on a late Spring day. Rushed. I pointed to my 3-6pm dinner choice of TURKEY. I showed her. "Just as it comes. She repeated it back to me as she typed in into her handheld computer. Chicken fried steak arrived. And a sausage looking oval patty shape of stuffing. Two long finger prints in it. I wondered if she picked up my loose stuffing as it's normally served here in America, or rather the chef did this to all who request it. I told my husband to look for spit in his food. My hubby? Nicest guy ever. But when he knows I didn't want and could not manage fried beef..but I had fasted 21 hours. I needed sliced fresh high protein meat. Wait another 15 min or eat the mess on my plate? I told her I'd eat it. Truly don't like complaining let alone confrontation with a Russian native with a sharp attitude because of a rough life. My nephew is from there so I GET the trauma. and I though I know I can usually switch my palate. But not for this plate of food. I felt sick looking at it. "Just eat the 'steak' I picked the stuffing apart - could not eat more than a thimble. Gummy gluten salty yuck was inedible. The FINGERPRINTS! 2 Fingertips past knuckles imprinted. I left it and hope someone there stopped to think "Why?" Our Waitress tried to make up by suddendly being nice when she walked behind me with a second piece of pie ...to go home. Thanked me for being agreeable or something. I nodded. I remember this saying if you l oh someone's attention the first three seconds and first three steps you'll spend the next 30 min trying to make them believe you're hiring. It's true. I was too tired this week to be extremely understanding but I'm never rude. I told my hubby let's both let this one go. And I said "But we won't return here." He nodded in agreement. Because I see people come in and sit down I see how tired they are and make quick calls to be able to turn their day around if only for a short time before they return home....to being a caregiver or to grieve a loss. Sad dinner and maybe she had a tough week too. But. But times 3 over.
