The hibachi was good but honestly I think I am crazy for staying to try the food. Immediately upon walking in the floor looked like it had never met a broom and the walls looked like they were painted with grease alone. The women's restroom was atrocious and the air was sticky. The salad dressing was separated so I didn't try it. The hibachi meat was good and soup was fine. The veggies were cut very uneven so some were crisp and others were super thin and mushy...which I can get past but I can't get past the cleanliness of the restaurant. It wasn't busy when we went so I am not sure why no one felt the need to clean. I don't think I will be back because of that alone. read more

We have done take out, but it has always been excellent. They also do Hibachi Great place with excellent service.

Service was good but the food was not the protein was burnt and way overcooked we can't get habachi because the "1:30hour" wait and then someone else walked in and sat right down and the noodles were also overcooked read more

Came during the early dinner hour. Service was average and food was average. Definitely had better. It's a one and done for us.

I would not come here again. The beef is grey, the chicken pink and the shrimp is popcorn as if out of a can. It would've helped if theree was flavor too the food. Nt a good choice. read more

Tokyo Samurai - Popcorn shrimp in the fried rice. - Sushi Bars Near Me - Bartonville, Texas

I will not EVER, EVER go here again. One and done. Went with a friend to get take out during covid19. They put zero vegetables in chicken fried and the shrimp fried rice. They forgot to make my friend's spicy and took it to the back and poured sriracha sauce in it. We got it back and tried it and called to have them remake both. My friend asked to talk to a manager on the phone and they said there wasn't one there that night. .(We found out later the owner was!i) They swore there were vegetables. I asked them to show me when they got there. They said we could'n't see them because they were chopped so microscopic. We also couldn't see the egg because it was chopped too fine to see. WHAT??????????????????????? INVISIBLE VEGETABLES. The guy who told me he made it was searching my rice for evidence of a vegetable - not kidding. At one point, they even tried saying that when we ordered, we ordered mine without vegetables. Really? Really. The man my friend was talking to started screaming at her saying he was the owner and he didn't care if we came back. They argued on the phone, in person and screamed at her because they made horrible food. $30 for two orders and IT WAS AWFUL... BOTH TIMES. THE VEGETABLES ARE TOO CHOPPED TO SEE. HAHAHAHHA OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOKAY. BYE, FELICIA! read more

Told the person who greeted us we'd just order takeout and have a drink at the bar. She got us a drink and had us wait 20 min and never took our order. In fact, she never came back to check on us. We ended up leaving given the poor service. read more

The chicken fried rice had hardly any vegetables. Every so often you'd see teeny tiny bits of a carrot, or some green vegetable and a little onion. Not much flavor without adding soy sauce. The miso soup was just so so and my house salad was just lettuce with a small slice of cucumber with some very runny dressing. Won't be going back. read more

The service is the worst. No one available to seat you. Standing at the desk over 10 minutes and no one seated us. The place was no where near full. Will never go back there. read more

Great food and service!! We had hibachi and sushi and liked both. Steak and shrimp was great.

I think this is a chain restaurant. I had the Edamame in a spicy sauce as an appetizer. They were very tough and "stringy". The spicy sauce had a kick to it and was good. Vegetable tempura was a little greasy. I had the sirloin steak with teriyaki sauce on a bed of mixed vegetables. I ordered without rice so they gave me more vegetables. The steak and sauce was ok. The mixed vegetables were delicious. Service was excellent. I was disappointed that they did not have panko battered pork chops. It's a national dish in Japan. Will probably not return. read more

I am so excited to find this place and it's double exciting it is right by my home! I came in to kill a little time and sat at the bar as I wasn't wanting dinner. I ordered a lemon drop and an order of spicy edamame. It was pleasant sitting at the bar with a tv and I would do this again. The edamame may be the best I ever had! It is spicy but I couldn't get enough of this hose flavors! Absolutely amazing! I asked for the lemon drop on the sour side and he was able to deliver as requested perfectly. As I finished my edamame, he brought me a glass of ice water without me asking. Way to go barkeep!! The service was great and the people made good eye contact with smiles. I can't wait to go back and enjoy the hibachi!! I will def update my review when I do! read more

I will never go here again. I ordered a side of steak for $11, picked it up and walked back to my work near their building to look inside and find about 8 small cubes of steak. I proceeded to walk back and explain my frustration for paying $11 for a spoonful of steak and the lady working the front told me that's just how they do it. She made no effort to give me more food after I expressed my frustration with the situation, she had an attitude, and she proceeded to take my food from me and refund my card. This business does not put their customers first and they are money hungry, petty thieves. This is just my story. My coworkers have experienced this as well and have even called and asked for refunds and they stated they won't refund their meals because they have already refunded mine. This place is a joke and needs some training on proper customer service. The picture below is a $22 hibachi steak with overcooked steak and 2 pieces of shrimp... total BS read more

Food was sooo damn good I forgot to take a picture. The service was awesome! I will be back! On hood!

Hibachi Chef was great, service so/so.... Hibachi chef was talkative, great conversation from the hibachi chef but here is what got a little sloppy. There six of us in our group and the neighboring table had six individuals too. We were told that we had to pay gratuity and they weren't. In fact, they didn't get charged gratuity on their bill and I did. Hmmm. Most average to above average places are somewhat decent at proactively refilling drinks and bringing side items. Had to request everything at this place. It was a funny first and last time. read more

My family went here to celebrate my daughter's birthday, everyone enjoyed the hibachi. Can't wait to go back!

We absolutely love Tokyo Samurai and regulars. The food is terrific! Brian is one of the best sushi chefs, and I know sushi. Def best in this region. The servers... they are just ok, but owner is great. We have had the Habachi too, always good. read more

My wife and I went here after moving to the area. The interior was tasteful and small. Was semi busy, but the noise inside was very low. We ordered soup and sushi, can't remember which rolls but it was amazing. Very fresh, very great flavor, the choices were amazing. The staff was friendly and greeted us when we came in and all said bye when we left. I often grab sushi on the home and now have a go to spot. Can't wait to take my kids to the hibachi. read more

We love Tokyo Samurai. My 9yo said we need to leave a 5 review. He stop by at least once a week.

The service was excellent. I tried to actually hire our waiter. The food was lack luster. It was ok but too sweet for Japanese steak house hibachi. The rice was good and I like the ambience. read more

The best hibachi we have had in ages! Steak and shrimp was great. Service was excellent!

My Wife and I love this place. It was obvious when it changed hands. It used to be mediocre sushi with zero service. Now its a different place, the second time you go there they recognize you and make you feel like your part of their family. (and everyone that work there may be related) This is definitely not a chain. The food is unbelievable. I'm a real Sushi snob, I don't like grocery store sushi. Tonight I'm eating 2nd day old Sushi from Tokyo Samurai, (OK, so I over ordered last time.) The food still tastes fresh and full of flavor. When you get around to try this place I highly recommend the Tuna Dumpling, but I highly recommend anything there. This is one of those places that always bring their A game. read more

Food is fine. The service is TERRIBLE. We arrived and waited at the hostess area. Waited some more as a couple ahead of us left b/c they had been waiting to be greeted and nobody said a word to them. Nobody said a word to us. Finally a gentleman waiting asked if someone could help us. A waitress came over and was irritated that we needed helped, shaking her head. We absolutely will not be back. Take care of your people. If you have a wait that is fine, but at least acknowledge people waiting to be greeted instead of ignoring them for 20 min and acting like they are a huge inconvenience. read more

The place is packed but their are few employees. Long wait. This place usually is a little disorganized but this is over the top. However, the food is always good read more

Great Sushi! The workers there are super nice and the place has such a comfortable vibe.

This used to be our favorite place that we frequently visited for dinner spending around $150 each time. The last two times we are their the chefs burnt our food. The good chefs that used to work there are no longer there. We are super bummed because Tokyo Samurai is very close to our house. The second time we ended up with burnt food and a lemon drop that tasted like turpentine we brought it to the attention of the owner who was counting money at one of the tables in the dinning room. She didn't seem to care much and said she would give us a future discount instead of offering to make our food right. Well; there will be no next time. We have had enough burnt food and under drinkable lemon drops. We wish they would hire good chefs again because we would be willing to try again. read more

We came as a family to celebrate my kids birthday. He wanted hibachi and some of like sushi... you can get both here. Which is good enough. For a Japanese restaurant that does recognize a birthday person, they should have done a happy birthday action in Japanese. Maybe a drummer or kimono wearing person saying Otanjōbiomedetōgozaimasu... or even Naruto bringing a cake surprise! Adding sparkcelebration will bring in more groups. Otherwise we enjoyed the food and that's what we went for. Food was good but more pizzazz for birthday would be cool- just saying! read more

Our meal was very good. We had the filet and lobster teppanyaki and my son ordered the chicken teppanyaki. The only issue we had when the check arrived is we used a coupon expecting that my wife's meal would be 50% off, but they took 50% off my son's kids meal instead which is much cheaper. Just watch out if you use a coupon. Otherwise this place is good. read more

We didn't sit in the hibachi section but I ordered a hibachi steak meal , the meat was tough and bland . Very good sushi place, hibachi also is very good! It's hard to find good sushi place in flower mound. But this little place in lantana is better than any one in flower mound. Volcano roll and shrimp tempura road is my favorite roll and I like the filet migon! Nice atmosphere with great staff. read more

This place is incredible! The staff is attentive, knows our family and order by heart, and is even up for the challenge to create custom rolls. We eat here several times a month and there aren't many places our family frequents like we do here. Some of our favorites are the lettuce wraps, tempura green beans, agedashi tofu, miso soup, spicy garlic edamame, panic roll, firecracker roll, "Lisa's roll" (that's on the hidden menu!), anything hibachi, and the green tea! Being Asian and growing up in SoCal, I feel like I've been super spoiled with quality. After trying nearly 10 different sushi joints and being mildly to extremely disappointed, I found my home here. There are a ton of places popping up in the Flower Mound/Lantana area. Don't waste your time or money! This place does not disappoint. read more
