I've been craving a good bibimbap and this place did not disappoint. And their kimchi is so good! The atmosphere is definitely casual but I liked it.

My only gripe is the bathrooms, which are a bit more rundown than usual for an Asian restaurant (and I say this as an Asian). Luxurious toilet paper though. I had the kalbi and the marinade was SOoooooo delicious!!! Highly recommend. Family had beef and chicken teriyaki, salmon rolls minus the cucumber. Their food seemed okay. I'd like to come back for the Korean barbecue because I want more of that marinade flavour. The menu is huge for what I expected!

Food came out quickly & was good and full of flavor The service was amazing, they were very polite and kept checking on us throughout the time we were there. I recommend this place. I love that they have the bento box for indecisive people

This place is special. First it's a Japanese restaurant that also offers Korean barbecue. Pretty sure the owner is Vietnamese, since the lady chef that work there was shouting out orders in Vietnamese. Our server/owner is really nice and you can tell he knows his regulars as he would greet them as they enter the door. Food came out hot and fast. I order their spicy beef soup with clear noodles, a dish I had before. While my server did ask me spicy level from 1 to 5-- I don't think it mattered because my "4" was not spicy at all. My husband order his ramen a "4" too and it was not spicy at all. Lots of food to chose from if you are in the mood for ramen, noodles, sushi, or even Korean barbecue. I would like to go and try their Korean barbecue the next time I visit.

Bento Box with Chicken teriyaki and California rolls

Do not let the appearance of the building's exterior turn you away from trying this spot. The employees were pleasant. Plenty of menu options plus Korean BBQ which I did not expect. The Bento box is a great option and reasonable price for the amount of food you get. Great drink selection as well!

    Tuna roll? Where's the tuna?

The name Tokyo house really made us think that we were going to be walking into some top level Japanese restaurant with good sushi. Unfortunately, this was really not the case and the food was disappointing. First off, the floor was sticky. You can feel it and hear it with each step. It makes you wonder, did they mop and clean their restaurant last night? Was it fresh or reused soap? Next, it was unusually cold. So cold, that even the guests next to me went to go grab a jacket. Not sure what the deal was, but it was not a comfortable restaurant. The largest disappointment was in the food. We ordered the bento box with two tuna rolls. First off, there was virtually no tuna in the rolls. Just rice and a lot of cucumbers. The tuna that was there tasted very much low quality, along with their wasabi. Lastly, the rice in the tuna was over sweetened and very acidic tasting. I felt reluctant to eat each piece, but at the same time, obligated to eat it for spending that much on it. Not the type of feeling you want to have leaving a restaurant. I will leave with a positive note. These dedicated worker looked like they were working hard and giving all they could to make it happen. They're very forthright as per their culture, but obviously were concerned to make their customers happy. I'm sure there are food items on their menu that taste like 5 star perfection, but the sushi was just not it this time. And I am sure their bbq also rocks. Furthermore I'm sure their restaurant has seen cleaner days with a warmer feel, but again not in our visit.

    beef kimbap

I got this delivered to my house when I was craving some kimbap and under the weather. I also decided to get some of their miso soup! Despite the soup being a size small, the portion was generous especially considering its price. The kimbap was plump and the veggie slices were large. I feel much better now!

When they opened many years ago, there was a lot of well-deserved local buzz. From stunning decor to one of the longest sushi conveyor belts I've ever seen, it was worth a visit just for the visuals. But the food and service were inconsistent, and I ended up never going back after my first few tries. Fast forward to the other night, my daughter and I did a mini "sushi hop" and ended up here. I have to say, I was pretty darn impressed! The conveyor belt was still just as long, and the ginormous sculpture (imported from Thailand IIRC) was still looming over the place. But they seem to have settled into their groove after so many years in business here in the Ham. We enjoyed a variety of options from the belt, including a few tasty rolls, as well as some nigiri ordered off the menu. Everything was fresh, hearty, and delish. I thought the prices weren't too bad, either. I will definitely look forward to visiting here again next time I'm having a sushi craving. I do want to say something about the service, as I noticed some recent reviews have mentioned problems in this area. On our visit, our server was very responsive and the special menu items we ordered came out quickly. So, at least on this particular night, there were no issues for us. Hopefully they're working on this!
