A cozy sushi place downtown Bellingham. Owners were very nice. We had the large sashimi combo, classic tuna roll and classic salmon roll, and curry ramen. Everything was fresh and delicious. My husband and kid both said it was their favorite thing they'd eaten on the trip so far. read more

Always the absolute best! The octopus is amazing, and the salmon cuts are perfect! So many rolls to choose from!

There were very few Japanese restaurants in Bellingham so I decided to try this place out. Small local spot with indoor seating and lots of natural light. One person was taking the orders and preparing them so there was a bit of a wait once we ordered our food. Nigiri was basic but good taste. Could have gone without the salad, odd dressing. read more

Jun Sushi and Bento - Jin's Nigiri Sushi Bento Box - Japanese Near Me - Bellingham, Washington

This place is LEGIT. Tiny spot, small crew, EXCEPTIONAL sashimi. I got the 20 piece and it's definitely the best assortment in town. Had 6 different types on one platter. Very simple, and well-presented. Because it's a small space with a small crew, be prepared for the reality that comes with that: you'll have to not be impatient. Come when you are not in a hurry to "get food." One man (I presume Jun) makes all the food and it's made to order so it takes some time. But it's worth the wait! Definitely found my new favorite sashimi spot. read more

Came in on an excellent busy Saturday night. We were instantly sat upon arrival and got waters relatively quick as well. While busy, the atmosphere was to die for. The miso soup was by far a fan favorite. Have been to lots of Asian cuisine and by far the best miso soup I've had to date. Customer service was friendly and receptive. I will be gladly returning. read more

Service is often very slow but the staff are kind. The sushi is affordable and yummy! I really hope they do a little remodeling or at least spruce up the decors because it is looking rough in there. Although the look doesn't matter all that much when the price is right! read more

This shop is run by Jun himself and only one other person, and it is slow at times but he gives a lot for his customers to have a great experience. He has given me and others miso soup for inconvenience in the past and it's very obvious he truly cares about his service and food. It's a great little shop with a great atmosphere, and it's not often you find a restaurant run entirely by the owner himself. Food is a 10/10: Jun is a great host! read more

I just experienced one of the worst dining experiences of my life and I'm 74 years old! The table was dirty. The service was horrendous. The Sushi Deluxe, was the polar opposite of fresh. And I've put together more creative presentations for stray cats! For $29.00, I, probably should've just sent it back. But,at my age and in this day and age, I opted to write this. If it makes a single reader stay away, it'll be worth it. read more

Jun Sushi and Bento - Honeymoon Roll - Japanese Near Me - Bellingham, Washington

The pictures here made the place look majestic and maybe it's my outlook of life but the place is very small with around 4 tables and a bar set across the place with bar stools. We didn't mind that since we were hungry and their prices were justified. The service was good. When we walked in, it was just one man running the show and it seemed liked whatever was ordered ahead of you got made first instead of all the sushi's together or however else restaurants would do it. So you pretty much have to wait until the table ahead of you receives all their food. There was someone else who worked there that walked in later so it went by a bit faster. We tried 2 sushi rolls, and an appetizer. Pictures posted and as you can see, the presentation was uncalled for. Didn't realized we were in for a treat visually as well. Once I saw the place, I didn't have high hopes for presentation and taste but I was proved wrong and delightfully so. If I'm ever in town again, I will be going back! read more

Mmm sushi is one of my favorite foods! I was excited to try this place after so many recommendations from friends. We went on a very busy night, but the staff was kind and offered us free miso on the house for the long wait. I was very pleased with bento box and the Boulevard Roll was excellent!!! Salmon is one of my favorite fish for a sushi roll and the smoked salmon in the middle and regular salmon on top paired perfectly together. Not the best place for a sit down meal. Limited space for seating and unfortunately the table we sat at had a VERY sticky surface (my paper napkin stuck on the table). Not sure if it was the cleaner or if it was dirty before we sat down. A little pricey meal overall, but the quality is definitely there. I recommend this place as a perfect option for take-out. read more

I'll keep it short and sweet. This spot is the best sushi place in Bellingham. I eat here once a week, the Bellingham roll is the best roll in both price and quality you will get around town--fresh salmon with lots of crunchy veggies surrounding it. As far as service Jun is super friendly and the only one who makes the rolls so there is great quality control... the space is admittedly a little small but it gives it a warm intimate ambiance... read more

Jun Sushi and Bento - Bellingham Roll - Japanese Near Me - Bellingham, Washington

Best sushi in Bellingham. The food is always fresh and the owner is always kind and welcoming.

I've been coming to Jun for years because of the Bento boxes though I've tried a bunch of their sushi rolls as well. It's pretty small inside so not great for huge groups but the owners are really nice and often will be taking your order, cooking and serving, especially these days with Covid. Prices are good for what you get. Again I love the bento boxes, but the sushi rolls are also fantastic. In the spring and summer you can sit outside and enjoy Bellingham life going by and a little sun which really makes this a wonderful spot for lunch or an early dinner. Overall I just love this little spot, well worth at least trying it out if you're looking for a new Sushi or Bento place. read more

Great sushi! Was a perfect choice for a daddy daughter date night. Especially enjoyed the Salmon nigri, and the Bellingham roll was fun.

Quaint, small, quiet little place. The sushi and sashimi were reasonably priced based on other sushi restaurants and the current price. The flavors were excellent. Service was reasonable except for a miss on my wife ordering tea. We had to ask a second time and we waited for it to be prepared. It was very hot and a rather large cup so it wasn't until the end of the meal she was able to drink about half of it. However, also at the end of the meal, after the check arrived, we were offered miso soup, and we graciously accepted since it was cold outside. We will come back and try it again. There was only one other table with two guests besides us which half filled the seating area inside--two cold to sit outside. And one person came in to pick up an order. The two gentleman running the restaurant are very nice and provide good quality sushi prepared well. read more

I have been coming to juns sushi since I became a student at western and for the 3 years I've been a student I've tried every single sushi place in Bellingham and I have to say Jun's takes the cake every time. He's super kind and the food is spectacular, always served on the most beautiful plating. Even the eel is great and that's hard to find here. Truly perfect. Ignore the 1 star reviews, they are Karens who don't understand what real good sushi is. read more

Not too many places to eat up in Northern Washington area that I found myself in Bellingham searching for Ramen. We found Jun Sushi and Bento that offered Ramen. The location is easy to find and I'm glad they offered other dishes for my party. They enjoyed their sushi's however I was not pleased with my ramen. TIP: I would not recommend ramen here. Find an authentic Japanese restaurant that specializes in ramen. Our server, who seemed to be party of the management crew along with the Sushi Chef were absolutely nice people The restaurant is not large at all. So about my ramen, it was more like top ramen from a package. It's unfortunate as I'm not a ramen connoisseur but I've had a lot of different japanese ramen. This was more like Korean ramen to me. I might be wrong but I've dined at some Korean restaurants that served this type of noodles as a fried noodle dish. The noodles were definitely dried and not fresh noodles. I wish I had the udon instead. :( At least the sushi was good. read more

My friend P and I were on our way to border shopping and needed a place to have lunch so we went here around 1 ish. Upon arrival waitress walked out to greet us and we were seated quickly. Waitress, the Korean lady, was friendly and chatty I talked to her in Korean about our drive to the border and etc. She was chatting with my buddy P as well and we enjoyed the company with her. Service was fast. We ordered 10 pc combo (tuna, salmon and yellow tail), chicken katsu combo and BBQ chicken combo. Our bento box combo was big and filling and shouldn't have ordered 10 pc combo in the first place. Everything was freshly made and they were all delicious. We were both surprised at first that tuna sushi was pink NOT white. Must be a different type of sushi and I should've asked the waitress. I ended up taking leftover from chicken katsu combo I ate. Couldn't finish all after 10 pc combo. My buddy was already full from eating that too. Waitress waved at us even when we left and she was very nice. read more

So much care put into the rolls. Owner is always there to ensure you will get the best quality service. You may read that it is slow but that is only when they are busy. The owner is the only person who crafts these gorgeous rolls and can only make so many at a time. 2 specialty and a classic is the the perfect amount of food. Absolutely worth the wait! I was very pleased with out waitress! She was on pointed, answered all my questions and really made the experience welcoming! The owner was taking the food out to the tables and asked us how our food was! I decided the get the ramen and to be honest the price was right and the deep fried shrimp was only an extra dollar! I was content! I got that and my friend and I shared a Seattle roll and woahhhh that was delightful! The flavors were great! We actually drove through Bellingham to go to this spot and never had been! It was cute to see the kids and families come in, you knew it was a family spot and the kids LOVED the avocado and rice sushi! It was a huge deal for them! I was very happy watching all of them get sooo excited about sushi! My heart was happy and my belly was full! If I lived close I would be back! They have ice cold beers and cups which was perfect for my sushi! YUMMMM read more

TL;DR: Our go-to! Full disclosure- I didn't eat here but the group I was with did. Every time we/ they are in the area, this is a must! (I'm not a sushi fan in general.) The menu is HUGE, so there are plenty of options for all the sushi lovers out there. We drove all the way from Oregon and this was a must the second we arrived. We got take-out from here for dinner on a week night. The service was fine and COVID compliant. The group all loved their sushi! Their words: Fresh, tastes amazing, filling, perfect for the price, huge. I imagine we will be back again and again! read more

Don't order from here they ignore any kind of request even if it is because you have a food allergy. When i called to get a refund they told me DURING A PANDEMIC to bring the food back so they could eat it. What a disgusting prospect for a restaurant. As an edit this isn't the first time they have done something like this. My wife can't eat mayo (eggs) and i have had to return things multiple times after requesting and stressing no mayo. read more
