Another reason we keep on going back is not only their delicious food but they are also affordable! We have tried their Tokyo, Beef & Cha-Shu Ramens and all were very tasty. Although the Cha-Shu pork was a bit on the chewy side. We also enjoyed their chicken, shrimp & scallops hibachi. We also tried the beef but it was a bit tough. Oh wow oh wow! This was an amazing experience. I enjoyed my meal very much, as did my boss. We both built our own sushi bowls and they were very tasty. I was pleasantly surprised by how good this place is. It sits in a shopping center, and I just happened to stop in after visiting UPS next door. Have lived in Jax my entire life and this is by far my favorite sushi spot. The owner knows me by name now and always greets me so warmly! She even remembers my funny modifications when I forget to add them on my takeout. Fine in or take out, the quality of food is always perfect. Delicious food, fast and smiling service and good prices sum up our experience here in April, 2024. Located in a strip mall near a Publix, this little gem offers eat in or carry out. It was very clean and nicely decorated. We sat in a comfy booth and visited rather late in the evening (about 8 pm). Everything was freshly prepared. We enjoyed their Sashimi, sushi, a burrito with crab and hibachi with chicken and shrimp as well as shrimp fried rice. We ate in and were started with a complimentary bowl of miso soup or clear soup. They also treated us to 3! honey rolls (filling similar to crab rangoons wrapped with rice, flat fried and drizzled with honey OMG YUM). The shrimp and chicken hibachi was lightly sauced with fresh grilled veggies and fried rice. Shrimp fried rice was a big pile of fried rice topped with tons of medium sized shrimp in a tasty glaze. The burrito was delicious and the shrimp tempura roll was tasty. Prices were very reasonable. We would return here in a heartbeat. read more

Gave this place a whirl on a chilly day, and I needed to be warmed up and the only prescription for that is more ramen....ok, maybe not, but ramen seemed like a good idea. I walked in and this place is small, there's about 10 tables total in this place. They were doing a lot of take out orders. I had a seat in a booth and the hostess gave me a menu. I checked out the menu and opted to go with the chicken katsu ramen. After about ten minutes my meal came out. Maybe I didn't read the description correctly, maybe I glazed over it, but I guess I was expecting the chicken to be in the ramen bowl. It wasn't. I dug into my ramen and it was good, creamy, and full of broth and noodles. Pro tip: Make sure you stir the bowl before eating. The flavors meld together much better. The chicken was good, but reminded me more of a pounded Italian chicken breaded cutlet. The dipping sauce was nutty and flavorful. The prices were in line with most ramen places ($11.99). Friendly staff who greeted us as soon as we entered. Service was good with a short wait for food. Plenty of tables & booths. Sushi - had a couple basic rolls as we waited for our ramen orders. Pretty good @ about $5/roll. Specialty rolls are a bit more of course. On to the ramen: Cha-Shu Ramen | Pork Broth, Pork Cha-Shu, Egg - pretty flavorful broth, would order this again. I've had better broth at other establishments but also had others that fell super flat. This was a "I'm not disappointed with what I just paid." The pork itself was yummy though. Beef Ramen | Pork Broth,Suki yaki beef, egg - the mini Yelper enjoyed this as did I since I polished off her leftovers the next day. Shoyu Ramen | Shoyu Broth, Pork Cha-Shu,Egg. FYI Shoyu is a soy sauce base broth that is usually in a clear, brown color. Apparently this was pretty good because I heard a lot of slurping action across the table and my other half flat out said, "this broth is pretty good" between said slurping. Needless to say, no leftovers there. Kids' Noodles (aka plain ramen) I mistakenly thought picky kid #2 might like this since it's plain but he barely touched it. I attempted to eat his leftovers another day but I just couldn't do it, it didn't have any flavor. I tossed it which I never do because I hate to waste. Next time, I'll stick with the kids fried rice for that kiddo or order him plain noodles off the regular menu. I was not at all impressed by this place. I ordered dinner to go and it took nearly an hour to get my food....to go. When I ordered a boba, the pearls were hard and uncooked. Yuck! I even waited a long time for this boba drink. After 5 minutes of waiting, I inquired about the time and they told me "only 3 more minutes." Ten minutes later, I got the drink. Very misleading. I've never had to wait even a third of this long for a boba drink anywhere else, even when busy. I've been to other places with the same amount of customers with the same amount of staff yet never had to wait nearly this long. They nickel-and-dime you for the smallest things even the side sauces. The food itself tasted fine but wasn't particularly amazing. However, It was cold by the time we got it. Because of this and the terrible boba drink, I give the food only 2 stars. The only thing they had going for them is that the front lady was kind. I assume she was the owner. She was a kind person. I would not recommend this restaurant and I'm not returning. read more

11/3/18 Second visit - Tokyo ramen bowl. Excellent all around. Broth was hearty and flavorful and not too salty - it was perfect. This was a 4.5 star visit so adding half a star to my original review. 10/27/18 First experience was more of a 3.5 stars experience. I waited to try this place and finally visited for a poke bowl today. While the pics on Yelp from the business owner show chunks of fish in the bowls, my bowl was topped with fish you find INSIDE sushi rolls - think spicy tuna diced fine. Flavor profile was good overall but definitely didn't meet expectations of a true poke. It was more of a deconstructed sushi burrito. I'll probably come back to try their ramen and now I'll know what to expect for their "poke." The setup is counter service where the construction of your order can be watched from behind glass. For the tempura and things that need to be cooked, that's done in the kitchen. read more

Raaaaammeeeennn! Target acquired. Uh oh spaghetti-o. I haven't written a 2 star review in Jacksonville yet. But......almost......you were almost there. This shoyu broth is a category 5 catastrophe. My most common complaint with ramen broth is probably that something is too oily or rich when it's not tonkatsu. That is not the case today. Nope, today I got to experience something new. It's too sour. Naniiiii? Why is this broth so sour? Just......how? I don't know, man. Thinking about it more, the bamboo and wood ear have a suspicious texture. My best guess is that the bamboo and wood ear are pickled, and some of that juice got into the soup. But that's just a guess. It certainly doesn't help that the last ramen place I went to was 'Tokyo Ramen and Poke Bowl' up on Atlantic. As the name implies, it's very very similar to this joint, but significantly better. *sigh* Okay, let's move on. The broth could also be hotter. This egg is a hard boiled egg. I think most people prefer a soft boiled egg for ramen. Corn again, ugh, whatever. The pork belly is....not bad, I guess. I have my suspicions here too, but I liked the texture and flavor enough, so it doesn't matter. Something else green would've been nice. This takoyaki is not bad. Unfortunately, the takoyaki at 'Tokyo Ramen and Poke Bowl' are a lot better too. These are smaller, but the texture is still good I suppose. Someone really likes bonito flakes though, wow. read more
