The hot pot to ramen noodles were good. It was a big portion. I ordered the Thai tea and was just mainly milk. The boil seafood was ok. A little salty to my liking. Their menu is extensive. They offer many selections.

The Vegan Chef Challenge inspired me to give this restaurant a try, and I'm so glad I did! I ordered the Healthy Veggie Pot and the Tofu Tempeh Sushi Roll. Both were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I really hope they keep these vegan options on the menu, because I'd love to come back and explore the rest. My server was incredibly kind and attentive, which made the experience even better. At the end of dinner, she gave us a coin to go play the claw machine.

We celebrated a friend birthday here recently, and got a chance to try a variety of their menu. First of all the ambience is inviting & modern. Our server was super nice & knowledgeable. Sushi rolls, chicken skewers, appetizers all are on point. Flavorful with a touch of fusion- She even brought out a birthday ice cream with a candle and sang us a birthday song, it was a pleasant surprise!

NEW FAVE!!! great food, fair prices, and the sushi is so fresh and delicious!!!! Love the ramen, love the steak and sausage skewers so much!! Although, they have been out of sausage lately, and I can only hope they can get more soon. :'( We really can't stop eating here; they have so many yummy options! (don't get the jalapeño poppers though) We haven't had a chance to try drinks yet, and soon I hope to try the seafood boil!

Came here for a lunch and wow it was so cute! The waitress was super sweet and attentive. The decor is adorable! We got yummy lavender lemonades to start. Love the presentation. I got the sweet potato roll and a spicy Hawaiian role? It was delicious. I will definitely come back.

A Mother's day treat! My littles and their grownups took me to Oola Mala for Mother day. Delicious! I had a crab boil, while my DIL had Ramen. My son tried Sushi. All was reported as fantastic! Our waitress was nice and helpful. My littles enjoyed their chicken tenders and loved that it was delivered by a robot. The place had a friendly fun feel to it. It was a good time.

Oola Mala was really good. The atmosphere is bright, playful and cute. The sushi was delicious and the servers were very pleasant to be around. Some of our items were delivered by the robot, another cute touch! Can't wait to go again for date night.

We ate dinner here last night. Loved the food, got the tempura fried stuffed jalapeños and they were very tasty. We got a few sushi rolls, the matador was amazing. Overall super happy with our experience. The server was great. The restaurant had a cute interior and comfortable chairs.

This place is a 10! It's truly a hidden gem in St. Johns/Durbin area. Modern atmosphere and the service is great. The food is absolutely delicious. Had the Crab Boil and Chicken Teriyaki dinner. Y'all need to check out this place.

I saw Oola Mala mentioned on a TikTok of the Durbin area and thought it looked fun, so I took my teenager for lunch on our day off. It's a new space and the vibe is super cute. We were seated quickly and served promptly. While they do have a bar with some really pretty cocktails, we stuck with iced tea and a blueberry soda. After all, it was lunch on a Monday. He ordered one of the ramen dishes and I had the udon noodles. Both were huge and came steaming hot. I had my noodles with just veggies which was perfect, and the ramen was loaded with pork, mushrooms, corn, and noodles. We didn't have sushi this time, but I saw several orders go by and it looks absolutely fresh and gorgeous. I can't wait to go back to try it!

This place is such a hip, cool, and entertaining place! I love how everything here is themed. From the chopsticks, to the napkins, to the takeout bag, when I say everything has the logo printed on it. I mean everything. They also have 2 claw machines in the front that are super cute too. As far as the food goes, I ordered the oola mala pot and my friend ordered the ramen. The oola mala pot had a wonderful soup base that you can tell took a lot of time to make. You get to choose how spicy the food you get too. The eggs are stewed with a little bit of your onsen egg runny middle, which could be a little less hard boiled, but the flavor is fantastic. The meatballs are all store bought and they're standard. The ramen has a lighter tasting broth and the meat is very well stewed. The service here is really good. They hire a bunch of what seems like either high school or college students and they all seem very genuine and eager. This place also does a great job of advertising on social media. Ok, well now there are some realistic reviews. The most competitive place against oola mala is the chain tasty pot off Southside. They sell very similar items, but the difference is that oola has sushi too but they don't have boba tea, but they do offer a selection of cocktails. I think this place is geared towards more western and aesthetic tastes. It's also a little more expensive here than it is a tasty pot, and Tastypot has more food and dipping sauces, whereas oola mala doesn't. I can see this place really thriving in the future when the area is built out.

We wanted to try this place. The reviews looked good, so off we went. We walked in and the place seemed relatively empty. It was a Monday night, so that wasn't a big surprise. The restaurant is actually pretty big with 3 different sections. It is decorated very nicely. When you walk in, you are seeing a few tables and the bar area. Just beyond that is the sushi bar. We were promptly escorted to a table. Sat down, received our utensils and drinks. We had some questions and those were answered. Started with a couple of appetizers. The spring rolls were okay. The spicy mussels were really good. For our entrees, we ordered the special hot pot and some sushi. We ordered the hot pot mild but it was still kind of spicy. While spicy, it did seem a little bland. The sushi was pretty good. The downside started before we received our meal. In case a family. The kids were really loud at the entrance. They continued to be quite loud throughout the balance of our meal. They were also climbing up on the furniture. Surprisingly, the staff didn't do anything to try to call the young boys down. We asked if they could do something but got a quick reply of "I wish". Atmosphere - 5 Feed - 3+ Service - 3 Overall - 3

Came for the Galaxy drink and stayed for the lamb hotpot. The Galaxy is a gorgeous shimmery tequila cocktail that tastes as good as it looks. They have a selection of hot pot combos, and I was very happy with the lamb hot pot. It was savory with a rich broth full of accompaniments that could easy become two meals. The price was reasonable and the ambiance was energetic and clean. It would make a fun date night or night out with friends.

I usually stick to only hot pot because grilling and hot pot at the same time is too much for me. My go-to broths are herbal or pork bone. The broth is always flavorful and tasty and comforting. With the sauce station, I can customize my dipping sauce as well as adding it to the soup to bring it to the spice level I like. My friend got spicy sichuan, which she can handle the spicy. It is also good but I would go with Korean seafood if I wanted medium spicy. I like the many food options they offer which even includes shrimp with or without the head and snow crab legs. The revolving veggies and noodles are so convenient and fun. I like to get in my leafy greens - they have bok choy, lettuce, napa cabbage, snow pea tips, and water cress (when they have it). It is also nice that they offer different flavors of ice cream in a cup or waffle cone for dessert. Perfect ending to a meal. They have many options to choose from in terms of different meats, greens, sushi, desserts, noodles, and more. We decided upon this place based on reviews, including from all our oldest grandchild, who said that he had been taken here and everyone enjoyed it. we knew it had previously been a Japanese/Asian grill for many years, but now it is a Korean style barbecue and hot pot.m, so we stopped in. first be aware that this is not a cheap meal, it was $37 per adult. that said, you get access to a variety of proteins and options. I will also say that my experience was quite a bit different than that of my wife. to start, you get one type of flavored broth for your hot pot in which to cook proteins or vegetables. The table also comes with a built-in grill if you choose to Cook that way. My wife selected the mushroom broth base and I chose the pork broth base. I must say, my wife added her own spices/sauces and enjoyed her broth so much that she shared with me and it greatly enhanced my experience. We enjoyed it so much so that we took the remainder home - there was a by weight up charge for taking this or anything else home. initially I felt that was a little expensive ($5) for taking home What amounted to 2 cups of broth, but we made Ramen out of the next day and it was the best Ramen I've had in a long time, so kudos to my wife for having seasoned it so well. my pork broth was not very flavorful, but I was being lazy and did not add any sauces to it, so I was disappointed, but frankly that is probably on me. In the middle of the restaurant is a very clean and well stocked protein buffet that has all types of seafood, pork, chicken, and beef offerings. I selected many of these, and went directly to the grill instead of cooking some of them in the hot pot. i ended up over cooking several of them before adding them into my hot pot, and they weren't good, but once again my disappointment is in part due to my impatience or inattentiveness. my wife enjoyed her selections very much because she didn't overcook her proteins. my favorite thing was the beef Bulgogi and Korean short ribs, which I grilled (or my wife did) and these were delicious, marinated in an excellent sauce and I frankly could've and should've probably just eaten several plates of this. they had a sushi/dessert bar with typical fare; my wife did not partake in any of this. I tried several of the sushi rolls and they were OK -- frankly this is probably not what you would gravitate to if you're going to a hot pot/Korean barbecue restaurant. their desert offerings were fine: I enjoyed the tiramisu and the Asian style donuts, which were very doughy, but I love them. My wife thought they were just meh. they were alcoholic options, but we were already going to be at $90 with tip and take home broth so we just had waters. I apologize for forgetting the servers name, but his service was excellent, due to attentiveness, explanation of the options, and making sure our drinks were consistently refilled. The ambience was nice, modern, clean. so my take away is that this would be closer to a 3.5 star review versus a four, as this was expensive and everything that I tried other than the grilled Bulgogi and what my wife shared that she had added to her broth) was just OK. However, my wife enjoyed the meal so much, that alone is worth it. Also, I should attribute some of the "disappointment" to my own laziness or overcooking of the proteins on the grill. I would go back for another special occasion, but at the price point, it would not be a weekly choice.

We visited on a Friday for lunch, and the dining room was about 40% full--comfortable, not crowded, and easy to enjoy. ** Pros ** * Atmosphere: -- The space is surprisingly nice for a buffet. Two walls feature projected moving murals, and another showcases a large mountain scene. It creates a relaxing, modern vibe. * Food Quality: -- Everything we sampled--and we sampled a lot in small portions--was consistently good. -- Temperatures were spot‑on: soups were hot, desserts were properly chilled. -- Flavors were on par with other Asian buffets in Jacksonville, and in some cases better. -- The hibachi station is on the smaller side, offering two meats and a handful of vegetables. It's possible they expand options at dinner. -- Sushi selection was solid, with all the standard rolls you'd expect. -- The pork bun was the best I've had in town. It was light and had a great taste. * Value: At around $14 per person for lunch, we felt the price matched the quality and variety offered. ** Cons ** * Limited Variety: The overall assortment isn't as large as some of the newer buffets that have opened in the past year. The side dishes were very flavorful, and I also purchased two drinks that were absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and provided good customer service throughout my visit. The only thing is that they told me that they do not clean tripe in Korea which was hard to believe. I do want to share a concern regarding the preparation of the tripe soup. After beginning the meal, I noticed that the tripe did not appear to have been cleaned. At first, I wondered if this was simply the restaurant's style of preparation, but after researching further, I learned that improperly cleaned tripe can be both unpleasant and potentially unsafe to consume because tripe comes from the stomach lining of the animal. Uncleaned tripe may still contain food residue, digestive material, parasites, worms, bacteria, and strong bile or waste odors. This can potentially lead to issues such as foul smell, unpleasant taste, food poisoning, bacterial contamination including E. coli or Salmonella, and symptoms such as stomach cramps, vomiting, or diarrhea. Proper cleaning is generally considered an essential part of preparing tripe, especially in professional restaurants where customers would quickly notice if the cleaning process was incomplete. Overall, I appreciated the kindness of the staff, the quality of the drinks, and the excellent side dishes. I am only sharing my personal experience and concern specifically regarding the preparation of the tripe soup.

Qing Shu is a first if it's kind, pay by weight hot pot in Jacksonville. It's located in the RD…read moreInternational Market food court, but has its own seating space. You can either grab a plate and pay by weight or choose one of the preset options. My 0.7 lbs of ingredients came out to about $10. I added noodles for $1 and soup for $3. You can also opt for a dry stir fry version of the ingredients and skip the $3 soup upcharge. There was a variety of classic hot pot ingredients to choose from, like beef, pork, fish balls, seaweed, and more. The sauce bar had peanut sauce, garlic, cilantro, kimchi, chili oil, soy sauce, fish sauce, black vinegar, sesame oil, hoisin sauce, and ketchup. I recommend mixing peanut sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, chili oil, and cilantro. All the ingredients and sauces were fresh and kept at the right temperature. We tried the tomato broth (delicious! It leans more towards a thick tomato soup than a light broth with tomatoes) and the herbal chicken broth (my favorite of the two, hearty chicken flavor with a hint of Chinese herbs). The soups were SO delicious. A week later, and I'm still craving them. The ingredients were fresh and perfectly cooked. This is a must try for hot pot lovers. I really like that you can experience a variety of ingredients without the pressure of "getting your money's worth" like at an all you can eat place. The staff were really welcoming, helpful, and worked quickly. I also love the look of the restaurant. It reminded me of similar eateries back in China. Be sure to stop by the next time you're in the area!
