I was gifted a birthday pedicure and gel polish with designs at Toi Spa in Davie, and it was such a lovely experience from start to finish. Although Toi Spa has two locations, my nail artist Favi works out of this Davie location and she was absolutely amazing. Favi is incredibly talented and patient. I had a specific design in mind, and even though she didn't have the exact color I was looking for, she was determined to make it happen. She took her time, mixed and adjusted until the design came together perfectly. That level of care and creativity truly sets her apart. The salon itself is beautiful .Very aesthetic, clean, and relaxing. Toi Spa is more than just a nail salon; it's a full beauty spa. They offer everything from massages and facials to brows and lashes, making it a true one stop shop for self care. I also loved that they offer an express manicure option, which immediately caught my attention for future quick visits. I left feeling pampered, relaxed, and so happy with my nails. I'm already planning to come back to try out other services. Making an appointment is definitely recommended, especially if you want to book with Favi. My experience started off decently here, the receptionist was nice. Steven (the nail tech) called my name to guide me to the nail station and as soon as I looked up at him he seemed disappointed. His face quite literally dropped. Maybe he didn't like my shirt who knows; that should've been my first warning sign to leave. I came to do a Russian mani/e-file pedi and was the first appointment of the day. The drills were incredibly dusty as if they weren't cleaned/sanitized the day before (probably why they ensure you sign a liability waiver before you come--in case you get an infection from their poor hygiene). Steven reluctantly asked about my weekend and we had an awkward thirty second conversation; the rest of the appt spent in silence. Midway through filing my nails he walked off saying absolutely nothing. After a while I decided to look around and saw him getting coffee and walking into the break room. He obviously thought I had nowhere to be so why not waste my time. He finally came back and finished my nails which I thought came out pretty good until I got home and saw small craters in the builder gel of several nails. Now let's get to the nightmare of the appointment--the pedicure. I've been getting Russian mani/pedis for years and it started off ok, but no one has ever spent less than 5min efiling. I was so shocked when he started filing the soles of my feet. I asked him to cut the nails short and he somehow cut both of my big toe nails leaning downwards. How do you mess that up?? It's two clicks in a straight line with a nail clip, I have fairly small toes. I asked him to do French tips and wanted a darker base for the pink. He walked off annoyed and brought back two very different shades like night and day, one almost the same shade already on my toes and the other one was practically hot pink. He proceeded to add two coats of the base to my nails; I looked down and realized you could still see my actual toe nail. I politely pointed it out to him asking if he could see it and he irritatingly asked if I wanted another coat to which I agreed. Right before he put the white tips on I realized the polish on my big toes looked like it was running down. It's gel polish so it quite literally dried looking like there was a small lump of polish gathering near my skin. At this point I just wanted to go home already planning to bear the few weeks until I find another salon. Oh did I mention it was my first time here??? Lmao. No wait there's more! After he finished my toes, I noticed there was a small cuticle sticking out of my right big toe and asked if he could clip that out. At this point it was obvious that he was pissed and he said "IM NOT DONE" so I sat back and stopped talking. There was no point in arguing, it was my fault for staying when his body language obviously did not want to do the appointment in the first place. When he was taking the bag out of the water bowl he angrily muttered, basically threw my slippers on my feet and walked away never to be seen again. Sad that I paid in cash but it is what it is. Hopefully this helps someone or at the very least informs them on who absolutely not to work with. read more

Worst nail salon ever! I should have known something was wrong when I felt burning on my nails, but the tech laughed it off, so I thought it was normal. I have rings of fire and my nails are in so much pain. She also cut my cuticle and I started bleeding. Do not come here unless you want your nail beds to be ruined. I was looking for a new nail salon and I saw an add for this one on my phone of course. When I saw that they offered a really early time I was so excited because ideally I would've loved to get my nails done before work. Linh did my builder gel fill and pedicure and when I tell you she was amazing. Not only was she transparent in her communication but she knew just what type of style I wanted and did them so well. I booked a quick last-minute appointment here on a Sunday. It's been challenging. I've been desperately trying to find my new go-to nail salon. I booked an eyebrow wax and dip nail appointment for 4:15 PM. I arrived on time and was immediately whisked off to the station, where I saw Lily. She wrapped my previous dip nails and then took me off to wax my eyebrows. I will admit that she did a fantastic job on the eyebrow wax. They came out looking very clean and tidy. She then brought me back to her workstation to begin removing the old dip nails. I first noticed that she was using an old dirty washcloth as her mat station. The whole workstation seemed dirty. The next thing that was concerning was the steps she took to do the dip nails. She did not use that white power; they always dip your nails into it as a base before applying the color. (It's almost been a week now with her dip nails she's completed, so we'll have to see how long these last.) Anyway, she immediately started dipping my nails into the color. Finally, the last thing I found strange was that while my nails were being done, the receptionist came over and wanted me to pay for my services while my hands were preoccupied. I have never been to a nail salon demanding I pay while in service. That was really odd, and it was awkward trying to get my credit card out of my purse with half-done nails. My finished nails looked fine, but there was nothing to write home about. The vibe of this nail salon is interesting...I'm not sure how I feel about this salon, though. read more

I came regularly to Toi in Davie when they first opened and I've been away for awhile after Covid. I treated my friend and I to a gel mani and regular polish pedicure last week. Mine came out really nice. The service was a bit rushed, though it wasn't very busy. However, upon going out in the sun the next day my friend noticed her pedicure was a total different color than her manicure. On top of that, her toes were all chipped within 48 hours. She was only in town for a short time so we could not return to fix them. Lesson learned. The salon itself used to have a much more cleaner, well kept appearance. Now it's definitely messy in the corners and not as pristine as it once was. If you go, please keep in mind to bring cash for tips. They also have a screen with most of the staffs Venmo info on it, but that proved to be a bit disorganized for us at least. read more

Generally, I dread getting my nails done especially if there's a chance of knowing (and/or understanding) my given nail tech(s) is/are speaking not-so-kindly about fellow customers (I know it occurs more often than not and it's probably why I get my nails done as little as I can or become very picky on locations). But I digress, I just wanted to get my nails done before heading to Orlando yet it slipped my mind before my flight back to FL. Desperately, I spent an entire night researching on Yelp while my family slept soundly in their hotels beds before our drive to Orlando. I came across Toi Spa and scavenged through a few reviews and decided this was it. I stumbled on in about an hour after opening without an appointment on a Monday morning. Luckily, Toi Spa was able to squeeze me in. The receptionist apologized and said my nail tech is running a little late but it didn't matter to me as I was a random walk-in so I couldn't complain one bit. It was nice and clean with great ventilation (the smell of acetone makes me nauseous!). My nail artist's name was Johnny Nguyen. He was a bit quiet at first but slowly warmed up and we chatted most of our time together. At first, he did seem a tad unsure if he was able to create the design I found on Pinterest but I assured him he'd do great or can do whatever he's most comfortable with as an artist shouldn't have any limits. I admit to smudging my nails a few times. Yet, he swiftly fixed them without any verbal complaints. The results were beautiful. Perfect for spring! And now that I'm back home in Colorado... I am deeply saddened to not be able to have Johnny perform his magic on my nails again. However, I do truly appreciate and admire him for making my nail experience one of thee best ones to date.
