My family and I have been to the other locations and this one used to be my go to due to it being so close to my house. However, lately I've noticed a decrease in the quality of food AND customer service. Every time I visit, I notice there is someone new who hasn't been properly trained due to there lack of knowledge about the menu and customer service skills. I'm assuming this has to do with new management because: 1. I've been visiting this location ever since they've opened and I've never had this issue 2. because I have witness the manger yelling at one of the employees after she accidentally spilled some food on a customer (who was totally understanding about the situation) the girl was obviously sorry and had tears in her eyes. However, the manager was completely unemphatic towards the girl and was more concerned about the "waste of product". I understood her concern for the waste of product but as a manger you have to be able to know the proper time to discuss those issues in private. Last minute dinner idea, it was really good. My only complaint was the time it takes to make but after the taste I wouldn't really say I have room to complain! My true complaint was the amount of onion I had in my half sized salad. I asked for no onion but they said they couldn't prepare that because it was pre-made this way. I overlooked that but once I got the salad I was def disappointed in the amount of onion. Way too much. The garlic sauce that accompanied the meal made up for it. Oh my gosh, it was so delicious, probably would say one of the best I've had! But it didn't stop there because the chicken on my shawarma salad was juicy and extremely tasty. Depressing, My first visit at the Clovis store was my last. Simple question can I substitute the pink pickles for garlic sauce? Manager says no, it's a different price than the garlic sauce. No problem I'll pay the difference, manager say's no, there's not a key on the register to charge you? Seriously? The good: The place was clean and the employees were friendly. Not much else good to say about this place. The bad: Even though we were the only ones in the place, our small order still took around 20-25 minutes to prepare. It was ridiculous. The prices weren't great either. I ordered a wrap, and when I opened it, the pita bread was torn and it was impossible to take a bite without it falling apart. The food itself was just OK; the wrap had way too much lettuce in it and the meat was pretty flavorless. At the end of the day, I would flatly refuse to come back here again. Order a to-go plate. When I arrived, the cashier said my order was coming out. Three people after me got their orders first. When I asked about my order the same cashier raised her voice. After a few minutes, she came back to tell me my order has gone missing. I waited about 20 minutes prior to this and they asked me to wait another 15-20. Never come here again. read more

I love Mediterranean food!! There is a gyro in Dublin, CA that I used to order 2-3 times a month. I also love house of Kabobs gyro. One of my favs is the gyros served at the Big Fresno Fair!!! I came here with a gyro on my mind and proceeded to order the entree as I was pretty hungry and wanted sides to accompany my wrap. Turns out its just meat -_- i told them I wanted an actual gyro so they took my order back and gave me the wrap only even though I paid for the entree which was 3ish dollars more. Had to go back up a second time and ask them for my sides in addition to my gyro... keep in mind they should have asked me if I wanted to be reimbursed as the new order was less OR if I wanted to keep it the same and receive my sides. On top of all of that, i did not receive the delicious sauce that comes with the pita bread even though I spoke to the young lady about it while ordering. Disappointing!!!! I tend to not eat at many Mediterranean/Middle Eastern restaurants. Being Armenian, that kind of food always seems to "be around." Either from family members cooking it, it always being in everyone's fridges, or all the times I'd help my uncle cater several events (actually, still do.) I don't really get excited over this stuff like others might. The few times I do eat at these places, I tend to know the owners or at least some member of their family, because playing to stereotype- ya, everyone knows each other. Well, here we have a chain restaurant that I can objectively review. (EDIT- After checking out their website, I found out this is the only Tofas location as of now and they plan to expand to a few local stores in the new future. Thought it was like a Chipotle- but this actually explains a lot.) I have to say I was impressed. I've only had a few things on the menu, but it was all good. Fairly Americanized, but not "bastardized" and still true to form- a nice fusion. If my old country, completely un-assimilated, no-english speaking great grandparents who never ate at a McDonald's or Denny's in their lifetime and never knew what a Honey Boo Boo or North West is tried this food, I could say with moderate confidence that they'd like it. I'd recommend the Lulu Lavash Wrap. The Juju Garlic Sauce (I specify the Juju- as they also have a regular garlic sauce) is fucking amazing. I will disgrace my ancestors and their family recipes here for a min and say this shit is probably the best form of liquid food (ok, I guess normal people call them condiments) you can consume. The food itself is good, a little light on the meat, but their secret sauce is the selling point for me. That, and the fries are bom- I'm so fucking sick of pilaf so for me it's a huge plus that they have some bom thick-cut steak fries and not those pussy shoestrings to go with your sandwich. The only other negative other than the under-meated sandwiches is that the wait time seems to be a problem. I only waited about 10 minutes, but there were several impatient people standing around waiting, saying they had been doing so in excess of thirty minutes or more. I shit you not, I saw a woman sitting at a table alone next to me for a to-go order, and her buzzer goes off. Silly her for thinking that meant her order was ready- she came back to her table empty handed and waited for a few more minutes before getting her order. WTF, right? Place wasn't understaffed, either. I saw at least four cooks in the kitchen and several other employees present. But this place is new, and that means new employees that don't know what the hell they're doing yet. So ya, a little room for improvement. Looking forward to trying more things on the menu, everything was pretty competitively priced. Very clean, casual atmosphere if that wasn't indicated by the "you pick up your own order and throw away your own shit" business model they have. Definitely try the Juju garlic sauce, good enough to buy in bulk and use as incense, body wash, and/or listerine. read more

Came in on a Thursday evening, place was clean and not too busy. I had the chicken kebab plate with a side of sweet potato fries and a small side of hummus. The pros: clean, generous portion of chicken, the cucumber water, the rice pilaf, and the Juju special sauce. The cons: poor customer service, lukewarm food, overpriced, and ridiculous portion of sweet potato fries. We placed our order to eat in but when it was called it was packaged to go. I told the girl it was for here and she frowned with an apology. She turned around to hand the bag of food to the cook who quickly asked her, "What?" with a scowl. She told him my order was for here and he replied in contest that the receipt said to go as he shot me a dirty look, as if I had changed my mind at the last minute. When the food came it was lukewarm at best and the sweet potato fries looked as if they had just thrown whatever was left in the basket onto a plate. If you've been to The Broilers, keep going there. Love their salmon salad and gyros plate! Family likes the shawarma plate and they have a cute seating area with a party room in back. One of the things I love about Tofas is they allow you to get extra veggies in place of pilaf if you're doing low carb. They have wine and coke products and always some infused water to drink. The place is clean and they have an AMAZING playlist with an excellent sound system. Its seating is nice and uncomplicated. We come here at least once a week and on the great Clovis nights, we sit outside and enjoy the weather. For non-fancy Mediterranean food that is appealing to eat and look at, I recommend this place. read more

The huge chunks of meat looked greenish when it arrived. I thought well this must be the marinade. I have no idea what it was because the meat was bland, no flavor at all, the meat was also waaaay over cooked, it was also tough & dry. Not good in a salad. The rest of the salad was also a disappointment. Huge pieces of romaine lettuce, cucumbers, tiny chucks of tomatoes, about five pieces of cilantro (yes I counted) three chunks of bell pepper and one skinny piece of carrot. Yum!!! Shawarma, rice pilaf, salad dressing, tri tip sandwich, kebab plate they are all on point!! Now, I don't know if it is 'traditional' Mediterranean, but it is delicious. All picky eaters can be satisfied at this place. And if your kiddos still cannot fathom trying anything new, they have chicken strips for your little boogers. They have iced, cucumber water sitting next to the fountain drinks. I love this. It always makes water just look appetizing. Every time we go, it has ice and looks fresh. Thank you for staying attentive to this free option and not just allowing this free water option to go stale and unappealing. I have tried to make my own chicken pitas...semi-homemade. You can buy a bowl of their juju sauce, hummus and their salad dressing! So I make the chicken, put it in the pitas from Costco, pour juju sauce over it, chop up a head of lettuce and tomato and pour 2 (tiny) portions of salad dressing over. I'm telling you, it is absolutely not the same, but, it is cheaper than taking my family of 5 out at Tofas every time we are craving Mediterranean! Parking sucks. In the past we have eaten here 2-3 times per week. Tonight we ordered a tri-tip sandwich and chicken salad. There was not enough dressing on the salad or sandwich. The cook just was stingy with it. Customer service is very bad. They also don't honor the coupons. Spoke with the lady owner and complained that a young guy was incredibly rude and arrogant and basically she did nothing. I told her that my family ate there a couple times a week. The young Hispanic kid in his early 20's was rude with service, the wrong dish and didn't want to correct the wrong. I have a feeling that he's probably the son of the owner. I told the owner that we would not be going there any longer, to which she didn't care. Tofa's juju sauce is to die for. No other restaurant's sauce has compared to it, in my opinion. The portion sizes are generous for the most part. I regularly order chicken and it is always tender, the falafels are flavorful, the veggies in the salads are always fresh, the pilaf is good too. The decor is modern and the tables are always clean. For the most part I have always had good service here. Sure, their food may not be super "authentic"or whatever, but it's delicious. read more

Decided to check out this new restaurant for a quick lunch while at a conference in Clovis, so time was limited. The environment was nice and clean and tastefully decorated. Great seating with booths, tables and high tables with bar chairs. We arrived right around noon and it was busy, but still plenty of seating. There were about 5 other people ahead of us and a worker handed us Menus to review before ordering which was very helpful. I ordered the Chicken Kebab Plate that came with salad, rice and a warm pita with juju sauce. The meal was ready promptly and it was very flavorful and healthy. I will definitely return. read more

The concept is a fast casual Mediterranean restaurant, more to the panera style where you order and they send to your table or they would give you the device where it buzzes and you get the cue to pick your meal at the counter Its not the fast casual like at chipotle where you pick as you go in the line and design your own meal like at chipotle. The menu is huge and wide but the written menu is very small on the board I wish it was larger . I want I see the menu lol . I ordered the Greek burger which was delicious in taste but could be further improve . The meat is just like a premade patty, not chunky enough you know like homemade style. It's too flat. I love the fries though. ! Nice an thick and juicy. Don't get me wrong despite the patty size looking a little skimpy the burger did taste good at 7.95 . It had a very smokey flavor and this yummy juju sauce that taste orgasmic ! The wait was quite long like 5 minutes. For fast casual that's long since I'm so use to chipotle style where I can have my meal ready as I order. I love the interior very chic looking and very modern retro, something like chipotle. Prices on the steep side, I mean rice meals can go up to 10 +. But I'm willing I pay if quality is just as good. The tabouli salad was really just oil saturated parsley with an occasional bit of tomato/bulgar. Zero flavor. Falafel dense and heavy. Hummus iscbland. Small side of chicken kebab for extra $5 was 3.5 dried pieces of chicken served in a condiment cup. I paid $23 for this lunch (including tip)- no soda. Got home and found the food simply inedible. My first bad review which makes me even sad to post. We've been to Tofas countless times and have always been happy. Though only this location once and thanks to them I am not sure I could even go back to any of the other locations. One of the worst customer services I've had and even worse... We ordered a burger. They brought us the wrong one. No big deal. We let them know. But then they were super upset saying that's what we ordered. So when we showed our receipts showing that we didn't order that one. They were so rude about being wrong. Then they brought our burgers back out... literally all they did was drowned out burgers in the white sauce. All while leaving the other sauce on it so not actually fixing the burger plus part of the meat was missing on one of them! It was one of the worst dining experience I've ever had. read more

With this coronavirus going around we are trusting in getting QUALITY food when we order take out or even delivery, and Tofas falls VERY SHORT in that especially with their Ridiculous prices. I paid almost $17 for a kids meal, super small side salad, an extra pita w/juju, and fountain drink. My husband picked it up and we literally live across the road and the salad was soggy from it being mixed in already and the food was cold, the kids meal didn't even have its grapes. For as much as they charge you would think they would actually put some pride into their food and give better portions or LOWER the prices!!! Ok, I cant help it I love this place. It has a total chain restraunt feel like Chipotle, but IT IS SO GOOD. The prices is appropriate for Mediterranean food, but the portions are a little smaller then you would get at a mom and pop shop. The restaurant is clean, well maintained and the staff is friendly. I would give this location a ZERO star rating if I could. We ordered the meat trio plate, the same one we've ordered many, many times before. The cashier gave us the trio of sides instead. When we called back to ask for a refund, Skyler, the cashier, was very very very rude. She said we couldn't speak to a manager, an owner, and even said there was no corporate number we could call. I said we wanted to return our entire 50+$ order and she said NO, we weren't allowed to do that. She also said she was too busy to even deal with our order problem. She's awful. I've had Tofas for take out so many times, but tonight, my husband and I ordered 2 chicken schwarma plates and took home a very measly meal, one of which being the wrong order. Portion sizes have drastically changed within the past month. We probably won't return as we've found both better service at Broilers for better food and a better price. We were extremely disappointed with our meal, the way we were spoken to with the hostess/cashier, and will likely not return.
