Chicken Shawarma Plate
Sarah C.

Love having fresh and healthy food so close. Good size portions that taste great. Service is always friendly and quick. The restaurant is clean and I enjoyed the country music playing in the background.

Well I ordered a shawarma salad which they said comes with meat, then and I added beef kabob to it for another $4. Bought this for my two kids thought they could split it but it only came with three tiny pieces of Kabob and no other meat. No Shawarma like they said. It allows you to "add" different proteins. Called and the woman who answered said they substitute when you pay extra. But on the menu it asks what type of meat you would like to ADD to your salad... for an extra charge. Make no sense. When I did add the Kabob they asked how I wanted it cooked. I said rare because they said that was an option. I got three rock hard well done pieces of meat. Not even sure if it's beef. The service seemed okay so I thought the food might be okay. In the end after I tipped it was $17.34 for what is essentially a green salad. Basically a large side salad. Now we have to go somewhere else after bringing this home just to find food for them. They need a little bit of protein (which is what I paid for), not just lettuce. These people ask for a tip before they even serve your food. Desperately wish I could return this food or at the very least get my tip back. I have attached a copy of the receipt and the "shawarma salad". After waiting there for 30 minutes this is completely unacceptable because all they apparently do reach in a bag of lettuce and throw it on a plate. Maybe chop up a couple onions and tomatoes and done. I doubt this meat was cooked fresh. Complete waste of people's time and that's even worse than wasting people's money. In the same parking lot as this place there is an Armenian Deli which serves amazing Mediterranean food called Ararat Market. Or down Herndon and Armstrong is Ark Mediterranean. This place doesn't even compare to them. A couple others to try would be House of Kabob or The Broilers. But there is so many in this town. All of which have been better than Tofas

I had a great experience at Tofas. When I first walked in, I expected it to be really cold, but the temperature was actually perfect and super comfortable. The bathroom was clean and smelled pleasantly fresh, which I always appreciate and notice right away. The music was great and added to the overall vibe. The girl who took my order was fantastic -- friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. She made the experience even better with her positive attitude and great customer service. I ordered the chicken shawarma and it was absolutely delicious -- hands down the best I've had. Flavorful, fresh, and cooked perfectly. I'll definitely be back and highly recommend stopping in if you're in the area.

I think my visit was just okay. Below I've summarized how each part of my plate was! Chicken: This was actually the star of the show! It was tender, very flavorful, and paired nicely with everything. Rice Pilaf: I think it was a little too yellow (?) and a bit too oily for me. The flavor was also okay, but not my favorite. Salad: Too much vinegar!!! Veggies: Pretty good! Only a few pieces though. Hummus: I think it just wasn't to my taste, but it was really salty (compared to ones I've tried in the past) and a little watery. Pita bread: Perfect! Overall, I think the flavors were really strong and I was hoping for a mediterranean that was more subtle. I do think for the price, portions (especially the chicken) should've been much more. There also weren't many people dining inside, so it was a bit quiet.

Combo plate

Had their combo plate and it was fantastic! Nice modern restaurant and friendly service. Will definitely visit again...

Chicken Kebab Plate and Lamb(Shish) Kebab Plate

I got the combination plate which consisted of 3 pieces of chicken, 3 pieces of beef and 1 piece of lamb which were all dried but still edible along with 3 pieces of bell peppers and onions. For the price they charged the portion was very small! Plus we got charged $1 for the 2 cups of water. Food came out about 15 mins after placing our order. Will come back in 2 years to write another review which was how long it took me from the last time I visited.

This original location remains my recommended spot for Mediterranean food. Many Mediterranean…read morerestaurants in Fresno County are Armenian-owned, while only a small handful--like this family-run restaurant--specialize in Lebanese cuisine. Lebanese food is widely considered among the best expressions of Mediterranean cooking due to its vibrant use of fresh ingredients, particularly herbs, lemon, garlic, and olive oil, along with a strong emphasis on healthy, plant-based, and grilled dishes. It offers diverse, shareable, and nutrient-dense options such as tabbouleh, hummus, and falafel, making it both flavorful and nutritious. I always enjoy dining at Golden Grill because they exemplify Lebanese cuisine so well. Their dishes highlight fresh herbs like mint and parsley, along with garlic and lemon juice, rather than relying heavily on spices. The result is a light, refreshing, and aromatic flavor profile that feels both vibrant and balanced. The kebabs are excellent. The grilled cubes of beef, chicken, and kafta (ground beef and lamb) skewers are flavorful, tender, and juicy, topped with herbs and grilled to perfection. They carry a subtle smokiness and savory aroma, and the meats are beautifully charred with vibrant color. Their pita and saj sandwiches are also very well done. Each sandwich is warm and carefully assembled, forming a sturdy pocket filled with high-quality ingredients. They combine savory meats (or falafel and vegetables), creamy sauces, and crunchy pickles and onions into a balanced bite. The bread holds generous fillings without collapsing while still being tender enough to bite through easily. The pocket opens cleanly, creating the perfect pouch for the ingredients. For a small restaurant with limited seating that appears to receive many to-go orders, the presentation for dine-in guests is especially thoughtful. The dishes are served on clean white ceramic plates and trays, with the food carefully arranged and portions balanced. It is simple yet elegant and visually appealing. Golden Grill also captures the Lebanese mezze-style dining experience. As someone of Korean heritage, I appreciate this approach, since it is similar to how Korean meals are served with many shared dishes that provide variety in every meal. Some of the shared plates include Lebanese staples like hummus, falafel, tabbouleh, baba ghanouj, and fresh flatbread. Everything here tastes fresh and well-prepared, with distinct textures and aromatic flavors. The signature entrées come with two cold appetizers. The hummus is silky smooth, a velvety blend of garbanzo beans and tahini that almost melts in your mouth. The baba ghanouj is creamy, garlicky, and finished with olive oil. The tabbouleh is bright and balanced with lemon juice, garlic, and a generous drizzle of olive oil that ties together the citrusy and earthy flavors. The restaurant itself is clean, with tables and chairs wiped down quickly after guests leave. Service is friendly, welcoming, and helpful when placing orders. Prices are also reasonable, especially considering many competing Mediterranean restaurants do not place the same emphasis on presentation or on creating a mezze-style dining experience at no additional cost. While some may prefer other Mediterranean cuisines, I personally enjoy the fresh, light, and diverse flavors that Lebanese food offers. Golden Grill's citrus-forward dishes and extensive mezze options make it one of my favorite Mediterranean spots.

However , I felt like there was too much tahini sauce, and it overpowered the flavor of the meat. Fast forward to yesterday, and I decided to give it another try. However , this time I asked for the sauce in the side, and a few packets of hot sauce to set it off right. I'm glad I chose the sauce on the side as I was really enjoying the flavor of the beef on its own. If you are new to this type of food, this sandwich is sort of like a carne asada burrito but served in pita bread instead of a tortilla. The sandwich consist of beef, tomatoes and tahini sauce. Simple and delicious. I snuck a few bites of the rice pilaf and it was also pretty good. My rating stands at a respectable 4 stars at the moment. I felt like the staff was a little lifeless, and could have been more welcoming . I will try the chicken options to see if I can bump my rating up to 5 stars.

I personally didn't like the chicken because it was so thin cut like it reminded me of lunchmeat, the tasted OK. The pita bread was all right. I don't know it's just my personal preference overall, the chicken did have OK flavor. I didn't really get any pictures of my food because I didn't eat it. I ended up giving it away.
