Since they've gone corporate everything has changed for the worse. My favorite hygienists have left after a long tenure. You never know who you're going to get at your next appointment. I still really like Dr. Ferrara., but my family has been passed all around without notice and without good experiences. Today my husband was in for his 6 month appointment and waited over 20 mins after his cleaning to see a doctor, but the hygienist said the doctor was busy so he had to leave without being seen. When he came home afterwards he had makeup transfer on the shoulder of his dress shirt. I'm considering changing dentists after all these years and so many recommendations I've given. It's no longer the same and very disappointing.

I don't usually write negative reviews. As a business owner, I understand that people can have…read morenegative experiences sometimes and our businesses' reputations are vital to our livelihood. However, I have given this practice several days now to follow up and attempt to respond to my concerns and they have not. I went in for an initial appt and was not clearly informed that I would not have a cleaning. They told me it would be $320 out of pocket for the first appt including full xrays (they never asked if I had xrays done in the last year or if I wanted them done - looking back I would have gotten some sent from my last dentist). They gave me a tour of their many exam rooms and only one dentist - which made me question the quality of their care. The hygienist was struggling with equipment that was not working properly and after explaining that I have a phobia of vomitting and don't like feeling like I may gag, it took a solid 45 minutes of xrays to get it done. She was doing the best she could but it was a really awful circumstance and she was struggling to keep her cool. There was no problem solving or attempt to move me to a different room. The dentist was informed of the issue and seemed only minimally interested in noticing it or fixing it. Next the dentist came in and roughly pushed his fingers into my mouth attempting to put his finger down my throat despite my saying I did not like or want him to do that. He didn't explain why he needed to do so (I have never had a dentist do this before) and stated he would do it when I wasn't paying attention. He then proceeded to quiz me about anxiety and seemed to be making some judgments about what was wrong with me and handed me some information about a tedx talk but didn't share what it was about or how he felt it related to me. Later I went home and watched it and it referred to people with tongue issues, breastfeeding, posture, swallowing and snoring, which I do not relate to AT ALL. I am not sure what he felt my problem was - I asked but he seemed to have his own agenda hidden in his mind which he did not communicate to me. I also didn't ask for support with anxiety (I am a psychotherapist and am clear and comfortable with the symptoms I experience). It was clear he needed to feel intelligent but failed to get to know me before diagnosing me with issues that were out of his scope of practice. It was super judgey and condescending. The lack of clarity was confusing as well. Then they ushered me to the front and said I would come back for a cleaning. When I explained to them that I didn't have clarity that I wouldn't get a cleaning, I got some defensiveness and some apologies. I explained that I felt swindled into their "membership plan" bc I had just paid $320 and didn't even get my teeth cleaned, just a horrid experience. Financially, it would have made sense to sign up for that deal, now that I had already sunk $320 into my care there, but I didn't want to return and felt I had just wasted a bunch of time and money. I feel like you should be able to consult with a dentist first before feeling like you are committed. This dentist and system made me feel I had no choice - no voice or say. I asked to speak to the dentist or someone and by the time they finished loudly sharing my concerns in the back office and finally returned to touch base with me 10 minutes later, I was crying. I explained that I didn't have the emotional bandwidth to discuss it in the office right then and there. The dentist said he wanted to resolve it and I said I just needed to leave at that point. They didn't offer to reduce or waive my fee, just let me go ahead and pay in full and leave crying. I would have expected that if they really cared to resolve the issues, they could understand that I was too overwhelmed to talk in that moment and that they should follow up by phone or email later that day or the next day. I feel like this dentist is focused more on making money and feeling valid as an expert than he is in his integrity and care of patients as a dentist. Oh - and they use business sales tactics to gain 5 star reviews.

I actually had first went to Fox Creek Dental where I was quoted a way more expensive plan, so I decided to get a 2nd opinion from Dr. Juan Sauza. From the moment I met their tight group and Juan himself, I immediately felt more comfortable and decided to give them my business; not to mention they offered a much more reasonable price! Everyone here is funny, charismatic, incredibly knowledgable and worked with my ever-changing work schedule perfectly. I began my plan pre-pandemic and considering the amount of work that needed to be done in addition to being compliant with my insurance, I had appointments all throughout 2020 and into 2021. I felt undoubtedly safe as they took every precaution during COVID-19. Ask Juan about his "spaceman helmet" he used during some of those appointments! :) All in all, as my dental work is now completed, everyone here now just feels like family to me. I know I can call them any time if I have questions or need some type of adjustment. If I weren't moving back to California soon, I can assure you this would continue to be my permanent dentist office. Thank you Avanti!

We have been with Dr. Sauza for the last 17 years, and are nothing but thankful and grateful we have him as our dentist. I have three kids, now 17, 15, and 13, and they have all grown up with Dr. Sauza and his amazing staff and we wouldn't have it any other way. They are fabulous, caring, gentle, and detailed, and the communication is terrific. They work hard to schedule my kids consecutively so I only have to make one trip. Some years I have had to call to get a yearly summary for our expenses there, and that comes within the day via email. Their billing employee is efficient, helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable, and has been that way for the 14 years I've been a patient. When we were going back between the orthodontist and Dr. Sauza, his staff got us appointments quickly so the kids could have their wires off for cleaning and then get back to the orthodontist for service. When the kids needed a water pik and stronger fluoride options during those braces years, he had the products in the office (at the same price that Costco sold them) so that we could get taken care of right away. I saw that another reviewer did not have the same experience as I have, which is unfortunate. I have only had positive, wonderful experiences with Dr. Sauza. It's such a great place that when my kids were little, I brought one home from the dentist and she told her sister that she just came back from there and the little one came running to me and cried, "How come I didn't get to go to the dentist?" Looking…read moreback, I wish I had been old enough to speak up, because I would've said I didn't want to come here anymore. Every filling they did on me was done with cheap material and clearly not meant to last. My new dentist even told me that the fillings I had were low-quality and poorly done, which caused deeper internal cavities and more long-term damage. It honestly felt like they cared more about making money than giving patients proper, lasting treatment. I will say the front desk lady, the hygienist, and the other staff were always nice to me -- but the actual dental work was cheap, rushed, and nothing I'd ever trust again. Their kindness doesn't change the fact that the quality of care was terrible and ended up hurting me in the long run.

I was fortunate that my predecessor as well as a colleague recommended Alleman Family Dental (both of whom underwent dental procedures I might add (aside from just the annual cleanings). I find the staff in the office to be very approachable and personable. Whitney at the front desk (don't call her Brittany, she doesn't like that) is also very sweet and she is always open to chatting with me a bit when I check in. You see, I get a bit nervous at the dentist office and can be a bit more chatty than usual. The new facility is really beautiful. On bike I had a bit of a challenge finding it but I do not anticipate any problems the next time I head that way. The new waiting room is super comfy and if you prefer the great outdoors there's a table and chair there as well. Now to the good stuff. I have visited this office (and their previous office) many times for various things (night guard, cavities, mouth cancer screening checks, cleanings) and have had a pleasant experience each time (well you know aside from my typical anxiety panic when drills may be involved). Dr. Dan has always been happy to take time to answer and discuss any concerns that I have. I never feel rushed and I always feel that I am a valued and appreciated patient. These are the qualities that I look for and value in a health care provider. To note I have not had any billing concerns arise (other than a bill that didn't seem to make it's way to me via snail mail - so I received a late notice - the front desk gals were attentive and helpful to get this squared away). It is my understanding that with any medical office (primary care physician, dentist) it is my responsibility as the patient to reach out to my insurance company directly to confirm quoted/anticipated costs. Medical offices deal with many people, some insured, and some not and though they do their best to navigate the many plans I have found it best to take responsibility upon myself if I want to confirm costs in anticipation of any treatments. Finally I just want to note that headphones and free range of Netflix is available to those who are undergoing dental procedures (I found this rather exciting, though yes, I was still aware that a drill was around and in my mouth). If you need a new dental office I highly recommend this one.
