Because I heard so many things I was super excited to come in. Yesterday on the day of my surgery I wasn't even scared! Once I was at home I was honestly amazed to see how much brighter the colors were. It made me realize that I had been looking through a cloud for quite some time. One day after my Cataract surgery with Dr. Parker I am amazed at the results. It is amazing to see and read without glasses. I surprised myself with how small I could read on the chart when they checked my vision.

I ended up calling Parkhurst to see if they could fit me in early before my cruise this July. After reading the reviews and seeing good things I came in. I am so glad that I came in because now I am seeing so good after my Cataract surgery. They let me do both eyes at the same time and that's what sold me. From the front desk, to the scheduling, nurses and even the people in the back it was amazing. By the grace of God the surgery went great and I barely realized I was even having the surgery. A day after my Cataract Surgery and I am seeing amazing. I was in shock when I read the papers at my follow up appointment. I'm so used to getting frustrated about not being able to read small print but I was able to.

Caroline is wonderful person and always answered all my questions. Dr. Rashid takes PERSONAL CARE of all his patients and I had a slight discomfort after LASIK and he took out time to see me immediately. For me this gesture was very reassuring that Dr. Rashid is available for any issues. Even if you have decided on your LASIK doctor, just take a second opinion from Dr. Rashid before making the final decision. You won't regret it!!

I went in for my free screening to see if I was a viable candidate and everyone in the office during that visit was wonderful. They answered all of my questions that I had about the various tests that they were performing and they answered them in a professional, but pleasant manner. Yesterday was my surgery day and everything went to plan. My mother drove me to the Alamo Vision Center, the surgery took about 15 mins and I was immediately able to see clearly, leafs on trees etc. I was sensitive to light immediately afterwards, which is normal, and after arriving home and taking about a 2 hour nap I could see so well I could watch tv, read, etc with no problem. The next day(today) I went in to the office for my check up and Dr. Rashid said that everything looked perfect and I could read the 20:15 line for the vision check! I absolutely recommend getting LASIK from Dr. Rashid!

He said he understood and in fact my insurance would pay all costs associated with my operation. After an examination from Dr. Starck I was led to the coordinators office and he greeted me like I was a long lost friend which was very odd as I had never seen this man before. While signing several pages of agreements and forms there was a sheet that wanted me to agree to pay $1000.00 that day for the upgraded lens the doctor wanted to use that was not discussed during the conservation with the doctor. When I questioned the coordinator and reminded him about my desire to have my insurance pay 100% of all charges to which he had agreed to, he said he had told me of the charges during our telephone conversation. I said I was happy with the standard lens which my insurance company would pay for. He then said the doctor always uses these lens and does not vary from using them. I told him that was not acceptable and then he offered to pay $750.00 using his personal credit card if I paid $250.00 that day. When I refused his offer he said I could borrow the money from a company called Care Credit and he would co-sign if necessary. This all sounded so scam like and unprofessional I left Ultra Vision and found a more professional Ophthalmology Center. Ultra Vision seems like a great place to stay away from.

I guessed it might be cataracts. I searched for "best cataract surgeon in San Antonio", which led us to San Antonio Eye Specialists. Oh. My. Goodness. What a welcome and helpful difference in doctors, and outcomes! SA Eye Specialists are in a beautiful facility that is sparkling clean and welcoming. The office staff are friendly, and efficient. The medical staff are phenomenal, from our initial screenings & testing all the way up to and including Dr. Membreno, who now has replaced both my cataracts with the Light Adjustable Lens, while my husband went with Dr. Membreno's suggestion of a Toric lens for his situation. We are both absolutely delighted! I've been through an additional, unexpected (by me) procedure after there was clouding connected to my new lenses, before we could start the light adjustments (I think the "clouding" is called YAG or something? Apparently extremely common; I was lucky mine occurred - and was corrected - prior to the adjustments to my lenses.). All was handled quickly, with everything being explained clearly and thoroughly, from beginning to end. Dr. Membreno is phenomenal, and I'd recommend him in a heartbeat, to anyone with eye concerns. What struck me the most about him initially is his knack for being present: When he's with you, he's 10000% tuned in to YOU. It's as if he has nothing else in the world to concern him aside from you. What a reassuring and comforting experience, especially regarding something as important as your eyes and vision! We now consider San Antonio Eye Specialists our one-and-only eye doctor, as we will be coming here for any & all eye issues we have that fall within their purview. As one who has worn glasses or contacts for ~60 years, saying I'm ecstatic to be able to see is an enormous understatement. Colors are vivid and clear like I don't remember seeing, ever. I'm still undergoing adjustments on the light adjustable lens and yet already I'm able to read fairly well, and crochet, without glasses. Very excited and pleased!

First off, the doctors are wonderful but i have never encountered a more horrible staff in my life…read more I had made an appointment to see Dr Marten for a second opinion consultation . After months of my doctor sending medical information and trying to contact Dr marten and no response I decided to go in person to see her. My surgery with my doctor was being delayed by weeks while waiting for a response from Dr Marten and time for my surgery was running out. After a long wait I was finally taken back to the examination area where the staff insisted on dilating my eyes and putting me through all the "new patient" protocols, I could NOT make them understand I was not a "new patient" and was there for a consultation. The male tech was such a BULLY that I was forced to get the dilation ! When I got to the exam room I was informed that DR Marten wasn't even there that day! A nice young doctor finally came in and I told him what had happened he apologized profusely , they had FINALLY found the correspondence from MY doctor!! He didn't charge me for the visit, I was left to drive home,80 miles, with my eyes dilated. I didn't know where I was as I don't live in San Antonio . I'm 70 years old and thank goodness for my cars navigation or I never would have blindly found my way to the interstate. They didn't even offer to help me down the stairs to get me to my car! I was terrified driving the long distance home. I never got the consultation. Although the doctors are lovely and seem most competent I cannot recommend this office due to the abusive staff.
