I had a terrible experience at vision source. I went to get myself and my fathers eyes checked. I went in for the eye test, completed the basic eye exam that is required, and everything was slowly concluding. The doctor suddenly asked me how my contact lenses are doing, after my answer he left the room and gave me a pair of lenses to try. I did not ask for contact lenses fitting, and neither did I consent to it. It was very strange that he was so consistent on me trying on new contact lenses After some time the doctor returned with a pair of lenses, he was gone for some while so to be courteous I tried them on since he wanted me to try them on, even though it was specifically an eye glasses test and I never had intentions to try on contact lenses. I tried them on then he told me about the brand and I just agreed on whatever he said. It was strange because I had absolutely no interest in them and he was so pushy on the lenses and the brand. When we left the office to pick my prescription glasses that were insured by my insurance. I sat down with an office member. They charged me TWICE AS MUCH for the contact lenses fitting than the price we had to pay for my glasses and my fathers glasses combined. I never asked nor did I ever have interest in contact lenses, I was scammed into taking that test. The ridiculous thing is that, they've been famous for doing this. Vision source does this all the time to its patients, they scam them out of more money. And they've been scamming people for years. I know a few people and relatives who I told my experience too and they stated that this has also happened to them at vision source. I also spoke to a relative of mine who is an optometrist in the state of New York about my experience, she also agreed that it was very strange and unnecessary. I was also told that many clinics like vision source scam their patients and often get away with it. Due to patients either being ill informed on the charges or being unable to say that they did not consent for the charges. If you're reading this review, I strongly suggest to avoid coming to vision source. The mere fact that they push unnecessary tests and hide charges from their patients, is appalling and absolutely unprofessional. I come from a family of first generation immigrants who struggle greatly with finances. It makes me absolutely upset and angry that a company like vision source scams patients like myself and many many others. Great service! I had to go from a regular pair of glasses to progressives. At other clinics I have had bad experiences with progressives in the past and always took them back after a few weeks. Vision Source was very helpful in getting me into a pair of frames and progressive lenses that would work for me. They were very detailed in getting the lenses to fit my line of site. Dr. Trevino and his staff are great. They take time to explain the tests and procedures. They are very honest and I was given a thorough exam. I had lasik done about 10 years ago and had been told by my previous dr that I needed reading glasses as my sight was naturally getting worse. Dr. Trevino took a look and told me I didn't need glasses, I had eye allergies! He prescribed drops and I'm back to having 20/20 vision! No glasses needed! After waiting for more than 10 minutes, I gave up on waiting for someone to show me some Oakleys and told them I was leaving. I did not even get an apology from the staff. Waited two weeks for glasses. When they came in, they were worse than my readers. Paid over $600 for the glasses, so I demanded a refund. They refunded me the cost of the glasses but not the exam charge. Obviosuly, the exam was the issue. No of any other business that gets paid for getting it wrong? First my appt was towards the end just walking in their lobby was chaotic ppl everywhere and waiting for a chair then finally got a seat and waited almost an hour after my appt time . Saw the doc he was super apologetic so I said ok he acknowledge and I know stuff happens . Schedule my next follow up this time it was first appt so we were in prettyquick . Checking out was a different story . We where behind someone so they said they would call us when she's ready to check out then a lady came out to check out and she got check out before me . Waited a couple min finally I got up and said I have to return to work can you please check me out . Next waited for a week for my contacts and called and they said they forgot . Easy and quick! Dr. Trevino is honest and doesn't suggest you get anything you don't need done. Twice I've gone in for check-ups and he's told me that my script changed a little but I probably wouldn't see much difference and that it would be okay to not change. It was so refreshing to have a doctor care enough and be honest to tell you you don't have to spend the money unless you need to!! Oh and they also adjusted a pair of sunglasses I didn't even buy there and I didn't buy anything previously for free, no questions asked! That's awesome service to me!! read more

Somehow the location at 5200 Broadway is not listed on Yelp! I wish my small business weren't on Yelp but it seemed to be mandatory to be on Yelp (frown). Long story short, this location was great. They took time to find spare parts to put my glasses back together. Sadly my Armani glasses lost the temples. The lady added ill fitting temples but thus far they have been excellent even better than the originals. I was not charged one dime however duets McClain offered to take the lenses out and stick them into a two hundred dollar frame. I took my son here for an eye exam. When we arrived the store/office area was very crowded and we had to wait a decent amount of time to be seen despite having an appointment. The staff seemed nice enough but the process was very slow. The eye doctor only examined my son for about 5 minutes and seemed rushed. It didn't feel like a thorough exam. They also forgot to give us my son's prescription which is very odd and just shows the level of chaos in the office. As you can probably guess, we will not be returning to Vision Source. read more
