Needed a quick smoothie to get my day started while the smoothie was great the service was far from quick actually it was extremely slow to a point where I was like this was completely unnecessary slow for no reason. I had the option to get any of the toast items GF because it looks like they had udis bread on hand. This place checks every box except my smoked salmon came out to be about $18.70 without tip.( I got gluten free bread for $2.)So this place is a little pricey but I am hoping because they use exceptionally fresh and organic ingredients. This is one of those places that has all these artisan toasts. Avocado is expensive. They put it on toast. It also has many juices to choose from. It's about $8 for a small bottle of it. These advertise certain benefits like revitalization. Maybe if you drink them enough. These are too expensive to consume regularly though. Avocado Smash is one of the toast choices. It's about $12 for pretty much avocado on a piece of toast. There's a few toppings like tomatoes. It's very messy to eat. The smoked salmon toast was delicious. I loved the beautiful vibrant colors of our food. The green juice was great too, a little wateted down tasting. I only wish they'd ask customers if they want ice in their juice before, as I wouldn't think to even ask to have juice with out ice, as I am used to it being made fresh on spot. These are however, in a machine kept cold. I was not in the mood for anything cold, so luckily they remade my cup with out ice after I asked. The name sells them a bit short, I think; they do have a variety of fancy expensive toasts, but they're also big on smoothies and smoothie bowls. It took me a few minutes to get service as there was only one person actually working during the midafternoon hour I dropped by, while another one was clocking out and a manager was sitting working on a laptop. Not a great look for them, but I wasn't in a hurry. Most of their smoothie bowls have honey, which I'm allergic to (though I suppose they would have left it off if I'd asked), but I was motivated to try a "PB&B bowl", which was a mix of peanut butter and blueberry. The peanut butter was mixed into the smoothie as well as being a drizzle on top, which makes for one fantastic tasting smoothie. The honey-roasted nuts gave me no trouble (cooked stuff usually doesn't), and the bowl overall was exceptionally filling and flavorful, definitely top-shelf as these things go. To me it's the sort of business that probably is well-matched to the Wharf. It's an expensive indulgence, but if you're there it seems like the quality and range of choices is worthwhile. I came in midday Saturday for a casual breakfast bite. I knew sort of what I was walking into--overpriced millennial toast. I like millennial toast. I get the hype. But there is just toast and acai bowls and overpriced cold salads. Beverages are juice and smoothies or cold brew. I got the tomato burrata which is glorified caprese and the only one that appealed to me that was less than $15. My toast was fine. Extremely normal. With one scoop of burrata in the middle and exactly one basil leaf, it is definitely more aesthetic. My friend got the smoked salmon and the tiny lemon slice was not going to contribute juice lol, purely for looks. Their stuff gets plated on this branded wooden boards and the only avail utensils here are plastic and drinks only come in plastic cups. It felt sooo jarring for a place that is trying to capitalize on peak millennial vibes. Nary a metal straw in sight. To pay that much for a meal I think necessitates a more welcoming in-venue atmosphere with silverware (I mean, they already need to clean the boards). On Aug. 31 at approximately 12:40 pm, I ordered sourdough toast with butter and observed the employee use a gloved index finger to butter my toast. Before she she used her finger to scoop the butter onto my toast she touched several other objects, including other food, utensils, and cabinets, and refrigerator handles and the computer touch screen. I asked her why she did not use a knife, and she simply did not respond to me, but the employee who rang my order - redid my toast and used a knife. However, I was concerned that the same block of butter was used, after being touched by the other employee's gloved hands- that had touched the previously mentioned surfaces - that butter should have been thrown our and a fresh block should have been used. I tried the toast, and the butter tased horrible. It was not properly sealed and the odors of other foods has permeated it. I was extremely appalled with the lack of proper food handling techniques. I doubt that in the future, I will support Toastique. I hope that the management staff will train their employees on proper food handling techniques. read more

Now that I've tried more things, I can officially say that I'm a fan. Everything here really is delicious. I'm still a huge fan of the PB&B smoothie bowl because it's filling, flavorful, and not overly sweet. I also love that it's blended with peanut butter, which makes the consistency thick and creamy. I've tried other smoothie bowls too and they're also good but they don't quite seem to have as thick of a consistency as the PB&B. As far as the toasts, I've tried the PB Crunch and the Avocado Smash. The PB Crunch is basically like a bougie pb&j. Topped with peanut butter, bananas, berries, granola, and honey, it's really tasty, sweet and filling. It's also very beautiful, almost too beautiful to eat. The Avocado Smash is the fan favorite and is basically a loaded avocado toast with a ton of creamy avocado, pickled vegetables, and a few greens and radishes. It is also very filling and extremely flavorful. The staff members here are also very sweet and helpful, especially the owner, Brianna, and another woman who I assume to be the manager. The toasts are surprisingly large and filling and packed with fresh ingredients. The Avocado Smash was bursting with flavor and loaded with veggies - marinated tomatoes, watermelon radish, and greens sitting on top of a chunky avocado spread and soft multi-grain toast. The ingredients worked well together except for the extra salty hard-boiled egg that I added on. I would just skip the egg! My hubby enjoyed the fresh Smoked Salmon with poached egg, it was a bit messy though! The board was dripping with egg yolk. Aside from the mess, he relished the toast. It was difficult to cut the toast with a butterknife and a challenge trying to get all the ingredients into a compact bite. A steak knife would have done the trick! The cold-pressed juices were tasty and fresh. After sampling a few, I landed on the Orange Turmeric juice made that morning. My hubby got the berry based Superfruit smoothie. The prices are a bit toasty at $12 for the Avocado Mash and $14 for the Smoked Salmon. As the bread isn't made in-house, I would expect the toast to hover around the $10 range. On top of that, I have toddler twins and eating toasts and açaí bowls can get sooooo messy and I needed that unlimited supply of napkins and access to the sink for washing hands. Normally I get so anxious about making a huge mess and making a scene but everything went so well and the ones working even helped us out a bit. I wish I were one of those who lived above here so I can be a regular LOL. With parking, taxes, and tip, my overall bill came close to a hundred, which is not something I can do on the regular.
