I saw on Yelp's Instagram page last week that they shared a photo from the Toasted Mallow and I pretty much knew right then and there that I'd have to go. I ate a light breakfast and rode my bike this morning in preparation of the sugar coma I was about to experience. I live in Peoria and after working from home for so long, my wife and I really wanted (and needed) to get out of the house today. We made the 46-mile trek out to Toasted Mallow and let me fricken tell you... it was worth it. Read on, friends! They're located in Gilbert on Gilbert Road. Since I live in the West Valley, I really can't comment on the location itself, but it seems to be fairly centrally located as far as Gilbert is concerned. It appears that Gilbert Road is a main road in the city. They're located in a little strip mall. Plenty of parking spaces and room to maneuver. Their entrance is incredibly clean, in fact, the whole shop is incredibly meticulous. And the smell. Oh my God. It smells fricken amazzzzzzzzing because let's fact it, you love marshmallows. Yes, you do. I know you do. But enough about my hypnotizing statements, so you walk in and there's a wall of gooey s'mores that you can order. If you don't wanna order a gooey s'more, they've got plenty of drinks and milkshakes and coffee and other tasty treats. Due to COVID-19, it appears they've eliminated indoor seating for the time being which is perfectly understandable. My wife ordered the frozen chai drink topped with marshmallow fluff and I went with the cookies 'n cream milkshake also chock full of marshmallow. My wife raved about her chai drink and my milkshake was so thick, fresh and utterly delicious. It was the perfect treat for a hot summer Arizona day! In addition to our drinks for the long ride back, I got a free marshmallow pop due to a coupon I got on Yelp for checking in AND I went with this enormous cookie. You know the old skool whoopie pies? It's kinda like that. It's a gigantic cookie with a bunch of marshmallow layered in the middle of it. I intend to eat the marshmallow pop and the cookie after dinner tonight to help keep my sugar coma up. I can't remember the name of the girl who helped us but she was so incredibly friendly and welcoming and waited patiently for us to decide what we wanted to order. She explained everything that needed to be explained and was overall, incredibly helpful. Let's face it. It's summer in Arizona and you aren't doing anything. Get in your car, crank up the radio, crank up the air conditioning and head out to Gilbert to the Toasted Mallow! Get a tasty treat... or four! Support an awesome local business because they need our help right now! You love dessert. You love marshmallows. Went here three different times. First time was okay- got some attention from workers because they were having a business meeting in the front. Second time I went I got side eyed from a teenage girl who worked there instead of getting greeted. Stood there for a few minutes before I was helped. Third time was the same. Stood around for a bit before I was helped. Received attitude from the older woman who helped me. Was hesitant to post a review since the owner has attacked people for leaving negative reviews in the past. I tell all of my friends that this place is overhyped and not worth the visit, despite it being advertised all over social media. read more

Found out about this place through Instagram and had to visit when I was in AZ. It is a cute little shop that offers so many different types of marshmallow desserts and they all look cute and delicious! They also had many options of desserts you could take to go. The staff was very nice and friendly. I like how you can watch them toast the marshmallow and add toppings and they had more on their menu than I would expect​. I enjoyed the s'more I ordered, however, I wish the graham cracker bowl was easier to eat. I decided to order a mallow pie to go and that was delicious, so I will definitely be coming back when I'm in the area. read more

Toasted Mallow is my all time favorite dessert spot! They are LGBTQIA+ friendly and support the local communities within various events that they attend! As an AZ resident, I appreciate that the owners are involved in women's legislation and supporting planned parenthood along with other small businesses. The owner Tricia is absolutely amazing and has come up front to say hi on multiple occasions when I come in! Their team is friendly and always willing to work with me in regard to catering orders. Stopped by unexpectedly after seeing the sign from the roadway. Thought that it was a great find. Upon walking in the blonde working greated us with "hi first time coming in?" Where we responded "yes it is". She then asked "do you need any help with the store?" I responded "I'm not sure yet" with a giggle. My partner asked "do you make the smores to order? Her response was "DO YOU NEED ANY HELP WOTH THE STORE?" (Accompanied by a bunch of little eye lid flutters. (Terrible attitude, assuming she had a bad day) we both turned around and left. First time here and we fell in love on the first bite. We ordered a gourmet s'more and a milkshake. You can order your s'more with their graham cracker or any type of cookies and then you can choose your preference as to how toasty you want your mallow! They do light toasted which is not "not gooey", traditional which is "campfire gooey" and they do dark toasted which is "extra gooey". I opted for the traditional and it was perfect. The salted caramel was the one I opted for, as pictured, and it was amazing. I finished it in record time and wanted another one! The unbirthday cake milkshake was awesome. Not over the top sweet but was a nice treat, it was a well made milkshake, one you can enjoy without feeling sick! We will be back for more in the future, I'm excited to try the many other flavor options! Side note.. they have coffee and ice cream options and a shop where you can take your own mallows home with you. This is a pretty nice store that specializes in marshmallow stuff. They have a ton of things to choose from including s'mores, themed snacks, and drinks topped with marshmallow rather than whipped cream. During my visit I opted to get a birthday cake and banana split themed marshmallow. I also got a s'more an iced hot chocolate drink that was topped with marshmallow fluff. It's quite expensive for what you get. However this is a specialty store, so it's worth the price for the novelty and especially if you like marshmallows. read more

Great place for a gourmet s'more, I do miss the s'mores bowls but the traditional squares are still good too. My son and I love all the marshmallow treats and fancy drinks. The only thing I've had here I wasn't crazy about were the cupcakes. I ended up getting throwing out majority of them after sampling.They are super adorable but all the frostings were incredibly sweet, even the cream cheese was much sweeter than expected. They all seem to be traditional American buttercream, not for me but I'm sure some people love it. I will still come back for the s'mores and drinks. read more

I walked in and there were a variety of items that were pre-made or you could customize. I got a graham cracker bowl with coconut marshmallows and peanut butter sauce w/ brownie bits and more peanut butter candy. I used the Yelp check in offer to get a free marshmallow pop bar. The total was $6.41, which is quite pricey... i also finished the dessert in maybe 3minutes because it wasn't a lot. However, I thought it was delicious. Toasted Mallow (aka the shop formerly known as Fluff It) specializes in all things marshy and mallowy. --Pop Quiz-- Marshmallows are?: A. Fluffy B. Squishy C. Ooey Gooey D. All of the above If you said D, you'd be correct! And should stop by Toasted Mallow soon! I have tried Fluff It/Toasted Mallow's marshmallows a few times at other locations around The Valley. To name a few: Fatty Daddy's in Scottsdale, Smitholator Cookie Shop in Mesa, and a YEE at Skywater Apartments in Tempe. So, I was familiar with these puffy little clouds but had yet to dropped by the shop to try their s'mores and other various treats. We found ourselves stopping in on a Friday afternoon for dessert after having dinner around the area. While there we found out that, no, they did not change their name because of the Adult Store nearby, in case you were wondering. We were informed it actually had something to do with the marshmallow fluff copyright. Anyway, based on the store employee's recommendations, we got a Banana Split S'more Bowl and Samoa S'more Bowl for our late afternoon delights. The desserts' bases start with bowls made out of graham cracker crust that are filled with vanilla bean marshmallow squares. You have a choice of 3 different options for the brûlée: lightly toasted (not gooey), medium toasted (campfire gooey), or dark toasted (extra gooey). We went with medium toasted for our marshmallows because it seemed the most classic. Once you select your choice, an employee torches the marshmallows up right in front of you! The now toasty pillows have a few seconds to cool off before getting topped. Both of our bowls were drizzled with chocolate ganache. The Samoa was then topped with caramel and toasted coconut flakes, very reminiscent of the Girl Scout cookie. The Banana Split bowl toppings continued with banana slices, strawberry sauce, whipped cream and, of course, sprinkles! Sadly, I've found the whole bowl (let alone two) to be a little difficult to eat and almost immediately regretted the overindulgent choice. Also, in general, I would prefer having s'more (see what I did there???) real fruit toppings as opposed to strawberry sauce or pie fillings options. Gimme fresh berries any day! Unfortunately, I think I learned I just don't like marshmallows THAT much. However, even though their products aren't my thing, all of the staff behind the counter treated us fantastic and we couldn't help but enjoy the stellar customer service they dished out that evening. After our visit, I was stay-pufted (tubby soft-squeezied) out so I gifted my free check-in marshmallow pop to my mom. I turned my back for a second to check something and when I turned back around that pop was gone! She devoured it. We showed up about 10 minutes before closing time hoping to still be served. The two guys working that night's shift were very pleasant and did not mind at all making us some marshmallow magic. It was so cool to watch the process and also see all the additional amazing yummy treats the store sales while waiting for our desserts. Toasted Mallow popped up on a Facebook ad about a year ago and several of the gals in my group have been waiting about as long to finally try this unique sweet treat destination. We had so much fun giggling, oogling and drooling over all the different combinations; graham cracker bowl or cookie sandwich, sprinkles, cookie dough, caramel drizzle, chocolate ganache and the list goes on. Thankfully the shop was completely empty when my group of 5 entered, the gal at the counter answered all our questions, let us each sample the different mallow flavors (all made in house) and hand crafted each of our orders with care. We each snagged the yelp checkin offer of a free mallow pop and while we were checking out the owner Tricia appeared with a brand new drink concoction that she let us try for free. I had just eaten way to much for lunch and probably wasn't super ready for any treats, but I like to push the stomach as far as it can go. I was warmly greeted by everyone there pretty much, I was informed I was lucky and it was $2 Tuesday where you can get Coffee drinks and a bunch of other stuff for only $2 which was a winner for me! I got the Smores Frozen Coffee drink and it was rather wonderful! It was super tasty and made me want to drive back for another when it was gone in the car! 10 stars for the friendly employees!! We had our first experience here last night, and it was quite fun! When you walk in, you are hit with the smell of toasted marshmallows (duh) which immediately sparked the nostalgia of summer campfires and 4th of July s'mores while growing up. The employees seemed to really enjoy their jobs. They were friendly, upbeat, and helpful. My husband ordered a chocolate chip cookie sandwich with marshmallow whip and chocolate ganache in the middle. I got the "Bam Bam" fruity pebbles shake. I honestly do not enjoy rich, sickeningly sweet desserts, but I thought the shake was a little bland. From the looks of it, I expected it to be a sugar overload, but there wasn't a ton of flavor and it was very icy - more like a slushee than a milkshake. So that was a little disappointing. But, I still loved the fruity pebbles and the "end of the bowl milk" flavor! My husband loved his cookie sandwich and said it was SO rich, which he enjoys! I think this would be a great place to bring friends or visitors from out of town, because the novelty and crazy combinations are very fun! read more

I saw this place on Unique Eats and with my recent visit back to Phoenix I was excited to stop in. I called my order ahead of time. By the time I got there I had an order to add. When I got in I saw they offered a lot more than what was on the website so I was a little taken aback. An associate kept asking what I wanted so I felt pressured to make a decision and hurry up and order. As I asked for recommendations from the associate, another customer in the store bombarded her way in front of me with her item to pay saying she was all set and the associate that was helping me actually addressed this customer and took her payment. At that moment I became enraged and completely disregarded. As a person of color I immediately went into defense mode as it was clear to me that my dollar didn't matter there. But I didn't mention anything out and just walked away until they were finished serving their more "appreciated" customer. Once they were able to finally help me again I asked for a regular s'more and it seemed like I asked for a lot as the associate asked another associate who was working with someone else to make it like she couldn't be bothered. There was no one else waiting. Anyway the associate finally made the s'more and charged me. Then I noticed that the drink I ordered was not dairy free as I requested on the phone. The associate went and remade it and brought back a basic drink that didn't have anything that they mentioned was in their coffee drink. Chocolate and Graham crackers does not have dairy. Buy they weren't in the drink. But at that point I was over it. I had already spent way too much time and money in there. I would not recommend this place as their customer service is off putting and it seemed clear to me that they appreciate specific people's dollars over others. I was so enraged and disrespected. Ruined my night. *** in response to the owner I had a lot of patience tonight. If you saw what happened "as the owner" why didn't you say anything If you knew I was upset?? Why didn't you clarify what was asked for the drink if she said I wanted "non dairy"? Don't tell me how to feel when I'm the one having the experience. What kind of business owner are you to sit back and let this happen and then blame me for not asking to speak to a manger. You just made my point.
