In my humble opinion, Toast has gone downhill. They used to have clear vegan options. Now, there's not even oatmeal on the menu. The only non-dairy milk is almond milk. All of this to say that this place is no longer a great option for vegans. I ended up making a vegan exception and eating the Parisian omelette. It was not good at all. The eggs were over cooked and the fillings were not so much filling, but cooked into the eggs which were just folded over into the shape of an omelette. In between the folded omelette-shaped, overcooked, scrambled egg, there was some flavorless goat cheese. Did I mention greasy? The grits, potatoes, and my husband's spicy cali omelette were all greasy too. The coffee was horrid. The cinnamon roll was tasty but definitely not healthy and decidedly not vegan. . . . I was clearly sliding down the slippery slope at this point. But, even if I wanted to make an exception this is not the place I would come. If it's going to be less than healthy, it should at least be totally worthy. All this for $50+ including tip. read more

Food was good. I liked the fried tomatoes and the coffee spiked drink.

I was disappointed in this place. We'd seen it for years and finally decided to try it. First, I'm not a fan of places that give you cans of pop to drink. That means no refills. The cinnamon roll was not soft and wasn't even warm. I would have preferred they throw it in the microwave for 20 seconds rather than eating a cold cinnamon roll. The chicken and waffles was just okay. A basic waffle and 2 tender size pieces of fried chicken. I guess for the price I just expected a little more. My youngest got the pound cake french toast and he liked it. My other son got the mushroom omelet with a side of the fried rice and he said it was fine. My hubby got a very small, expensive bellini with his breakfast. I think it was the only time I've seen him only get one drink with a meal. This place is toward the bottom of my list of breakfast choices. I don't mind a more expensive place, as long as the food justifies it. I did not feel that the food we got was worth the price we paid. Oh, and a side note, they automatically put gratuity on your bill. So be careful you don't accidently give a double tip. read more

Was fine for two, very good if you like banana; I enjoyed. - Salmon Benedict over House Biscuit: I'm not sure what went wrong, but this was poorly executed. Starting with the base the house biscuit is giant, probably like 3" by 5" beast cut in half. It was extremely dry and dense. I compared it to hardtack eaten on seafaring ships of the 1400's to my dining companion. The spinach was spinach, salmon was cooked decently and flaked nicely, the poached eggs was semi-runny. The tomato was unnecessary and added no flavor, it was a semi ripe unappealing in both taste and look; very subway. Is subway now an adjective? I ended up taking the half home and I ate the top half separate from the biscuit. I tried to warm and moisten the biscuit with some hot butter but things were too far gone. It was absolutely inedible after having dried out further on the car ride home, no butter could penetrate. - Loaded Potatoes: My companions were what you would expect, mine were extremely dried out and the small ones were overly done to the point the skin was similar to shoe leather. Only the largest chunks were appetizing, they had a nice seasoning to them. They are a roasted/broasted style. I had tried to come here a few times over the years and it never worked out. Disappointed by the service. The restaurant was not busy for lunch today, but they wouldn't give my father-in-law a seat without me there. I guess it's policy and he was early, so that's fine. When I got there, we stood at the door for almost 10 minutes and no one greeted or acknowledged us, although they made eye contact a few times. The food was amazing but the service was horrible. Not only were my group and I rushed after only 30 minutes of being there, and 10 minutes since the food came out, the waitress was rude and it clearly showed how unhappy she was with our arrival. I'm sure she is stressed and all but the different between her services and the table next to us waiter was astonishing. Well The table next to us received checks up, water was always filled,and the waiter bagged their meal. We were given our check without notice, and was asked many times if we wanted them to take our plates away even though we were still eating it. Came here for lunch with some coworkers on a Friday. We had a party of 4 and arrived around 1:15pm. There were options for both indoor and outdoor seating. Three people in our party got the same thing, Caprese grilled cheese, tomato basil soup, and french fries. The sandwich itself has roasted tomato, basil, and havarti on asiago toast. I'm usually not a fan of tomato chunks on things, but the roasted tomatoes inside the sandwich were delicious! They were seasoned to perfection, and I'm super glad I didn't ask for them to be taken off. The tomato soup was very creamy, no chunks at all, and topped with a bit of cheese. It had an odd taste to it, and everyone at the table agreed it tasted a bit off. Their french fries were delicious. The food was definitely a 5/5 rating. As for the service, I can't say the same. We came during our lunch break, which is an hour. After we were done eating and our waiter cleared our table, he disappeared for a good 20 minutes. We had to go up to the bar and tell him that we needed to cash out and get back to work. He proceeds to come over to our table and tell us the computers are down and he is restarting them. Totally fine, I understand that is out of his control. But then he disappears again for another 15 minutes. At this point we are all getting very frustrated because our lunch break is now over. He returns back to our table, with no checks in hand, and says it will be a few more minutes. We reminded him that we have been sitting here for quite some time now and need to get going. He eventually comes back with checks and we all have our payments ready. The computers never came back up while we were there, and we had to do the old school credit card forms, which is no problem with me at all. What isn't fine is that he left us sitting for almost 40 minutes after we were done eating and did not fill us in on what was going on. So overall, yes I would be back for the food, but I would not come during a lunch break, or any other time that I am in a rush! read more

Good service, great food. Came here an hour before closing on a Friday and the experience was good! Staff is nice and friendly and the decor is old fashioned yet cute. I ordered the watermelon mojito and it had a nice kick. I ordered the Corn Beef Hash and it was delicious. Pairs great with ketchup and Chalula's hot sauce. We got patio seating on a beautiful Saturday morning. SCORE! I have never seen nor tasted a Hennessey Champagne Sunrise, and thought, what the heck, why not. It was almost too beautiful to drink. Huge punch in flavor and you can definitely taste the Henney. No complaints here! Onto the food. My friend had the chicken and waffles. I'm slightly biased, I've found the perfect chicken and waffles (Le Andos Cafe) and I can't find anything that can compete. The biggest issue I had with these were that the waffles were drenched in gravy and lost the firm crisp consistency that a waffle should have. It was on the edge of soggy. I had the Huevos Rancheros. At first, it was lacking in flavor for me. But then I found the hidden refried brands underneath. And I realize, you literally have to mix a bit of everything into a single bite to get the full flavor. There is a generous dollop of guacamole. That guacamole...I still have dreams about it. This dish did not disappoint. And I am not one to order a fish with no meat in it. But this vegetarian friendly dish (less the eggs) is such a memorable plate. The service is very friendly...from the hostess who seats you to the waiter that told us he'd "take us on an adventure." They are doing things right here. We (table of two) placed our order 15 minutes before two other tables of two sat down, but did not receive our meals until after them. I really enjoyed this place for breakfast. We arrived at the crack of dawn and were the first customers of the day. We loved the ambiance and the place - it was really cool inside. The service was great and the food was fantastic. I had a custom omelette with Green peppers and mushrooms. My partner had the "farmers only dot omelette." She absolutely loved it.
