Miso soup and green salad that comes with combo sushi sashimi set.
    Lisa T.

We came here for a birthday gathering and they were able to accommodate a large group of us on a Friday night (about 12 people). There is mandatory 18% gratuity on top of your bill for large parties. The service was standard - not too slow but nothing amazing for 5 stars. The restaurant food itself is not the best sushi in town but also not too bad! A lot of us ordered the combo sets and a couple of my friends ordered their sushi boat. They also have a variety of vegetarian options for my vegetarian friends and other menu items for those who don't eat sushi. I ordered the salmon sushi and sashimi set that comes with 7 pieces of sushi, 6 piece salmon roll and 5 pieces salmon sashimi ($27). It didn't taste the most fresh or flavourful but it was still decent. They also provide miso soup and green salad on the side with combo sets which is a nice addition. My partner ordered a similar combo but with tuna ($29). The tuna was okay and didn't have much flavor either. Although not the best sushi, it still tasted okay to satisfy sushi craving. They also add jalapeño and spring onion or chives on top of sushi pieces which I don't find it necessary. The sushi pieces had a good rice to fish ratio but I've had better sushi downtown Toronto. I think the quality is similar to the monkey sushi chain in Toronto but monkey sushi price point is cheaper for similar menu items we ordered. Overall, I much prefer to visit other sushi joints in downtown over To-Ne, but only came here for a friends birthday gathering. They can accommodate large groups and sushi is good with large menu selection, but quality is just decent - nothing amazing.

A friend of mine suggested to visit here; and I was glad I did. Cloudy Autumn evening, stopped by for a sushi dinner. Place was rather empty as there were only a few customers inside. However, phone kept ringing as lots of take-out / delivery orders coming as it seemed. Single waitress was handling everything by herself on the floor and take-out orders. Anyway, order needed to be placed from mobile phone after scanning QR code on tables. ...did not know this and wasted quite time just waiting for being served. Ordered UME Sushi set - came with a small salad, miso soup, and Sushi plate. I don't have much to say about Salad and miso soup except that salad dressing was too sweet for my taste. Sushi plate, however, came out nicely...honestly, did not expect that quality and amount. For the price, it was really a good deal, I thought. Only two wishes I have - real Wasabi and all sushi pieces were of different fish. As seen in a pic, Tuna and Salmon came two pieces each. Overall, sushi was good choice and highly recommended.

What I had: Chirashi (sliched fish) sashimi bowl $21 Taste: 4/5 The sashimi was pretty fresh! The portion looked small but it was pretty filling. Vibe: 4/5 The wooden dividers and warm dim lights gave a calming and cozy Japanese vibe. It was a really nice dinner place. Service: 4.5/5 The servers were all nice, polite and friendly.

I wanted to love this place but I am not sure I'd endorse it. It was the only option open in the area for sushi at 4 pm. Sushi was just ok, fish tasted not spoiled but not super fresh either. My main complaint is absolute lack of service: very not hospitable waitress, who never checked up on me at any point. Ordered from a QR code, she brought the food out. I had to get up myself to request a water refill, which at this point should just be self serve if you aren't checking up on your customers (and I was the only one, so it wasn't even busy). I would not be going back.

Always love a good bento box, and this one was very tasty. Tempura was crisp, sushi was fresh, and the variety is just as I was looking for. Service was friendly. I find that it's sometimes harder to find bento boxes come dinner time so this is a great option.

At its price range, To-Ne Sushi has some of the best service in the city. The team are friendly and attentive but never too much. The sushi menu is excellent (though if you're looking for sushi that is usually MP on most menus, this isn't the place to order it.) Decor is clean and simple, and tables are nicely spaced out so you're never too close to your neighbours. The sushi is plated nicely with some flowers too! ------------------ For more food and travel, follow me on Instagram @yamisohungry!

2 orders of avocado salmon sushi with brown rice.
    Signe L.

I ordered avocado and salmon roll with brown rice, which was listed as gluten free. I also got the seafood salad and specified "no tempura bits". I made a coconut aminos, coconut vinegar and umeboshi plum sauce for the wasabi as I prefer to eat soy-free. The sushi was good. The salad was beautiful and plentiful but the fish on top was dry, though fresh. It was great to have avocado and thinly sliced cucumber in it. The ginger offering was too small. Overall good, but not the best. I'd get it again on foodora since I now know they have brown rice, which is super hard to find.

Salmon sashimi, mixed sushi and California roll

If you're looking for a good, high quality sushi at a reasonable price then check this place out...I stopped in for lunch, and got you the spicy roll special - 6 spicy salmon, 6 spicy tuna and 6 spicy crab rolls with miso soup and salad - all for $14.50! What a steal! My buddy ordered Salmon sashimi (5), mixed sushi (5) and 6 piece California rolls, with miso soup and salad - all for $14.50! We ate family style and could barely finish everything...to top it off free green tea! The sashimi was ok, but the sushi was excellent and maki was phenomenal! I don't know about you, but I like my spicy rolls with a bit of crunch and this is exactly what they were! The California roll was really good too - melt in your mouth avocado...mmm..I can still taste it If you're in the area and are looking for a place for a quick bite, this is the place to go! I'll definitely be back!

Every table was occupied when I arrived, and I was happy to chill out by the bar and look over the cocktail menu. Cool that they had a drink called Shanghai 75 since my friend was from there, bonus! The menu selections were expertly picked, of course, and gave a good sense of the theme of this Asian fusion food and how the chef thinks. Take a look at my pictures and set your sights on another 'Licious coming up for one of these fun events. Think of 'Licious as much more bold and light hearted way to enjoy some of Toronto's finest restaurants and see how well they work under pressure, which make these so popular and so much fun!

Every review I read about the place raved about the flavors so I came in with high expectations. We ordered 5 dishes and although there were a variety of textures and layers to each dish, everything seemed to have the same flavour or garnish. After a while everything started to taste very similar to the dish brought out just before. Crispy garlic and chili oil seemed to be the lingering taste in each dish. The only item that didnt contain these were the tacos which werent anything special. The tofu dish wasthe most enjoyable for me but again was topped with a lot of that chili oil that took over after a while. Truffe fried rice had a beautiful aroma but the truffe flavor wasnt as strong. Just missed the mark with me on this one but truly had high hopes for it. Great ambiance. Friendly service. Two levels. It wasn't that they charged $20-30 per entree, no... because if other cuisines and restaurants can get away with that price point, there's no reason why Caribbean can't be elevated enough to as well. It's that they charged $5 for the most piddling amount of ox tail gravy.. the nickel and diming felt greedy and left me with a bad taste. Popcorn shrimp fried rice: Was very excited to try this one and it had a really rich umami flavour. The tobiko eggs added a nice crunch and sweetness.
