3.5 stars we made reservations but weren't asked to confirm them, and got seated right away. we ordered everything from a QR code so our actual service was super limited. they had a lot of take out orders so they sushi bar was really backed up and many tables around us were waiting a long time. the actual food was pretty good. we ordered miso soup, tempura shrimp, and few different sushis. all yummy and fresh. it's definitely not bad but i do think there are better places. i was really missing the service.

What I had: Chirashi (sliched fish) sashimi bowl $21 Taste: 4/5 The sashimi was pretty fresh! The portion looked small but it was pretty filling. Vibe: 4/5 The wooden dividers and warm dim lights gave a calming and cozy Japanese vibe. It was a really nice dinner place. Service: 4.5/5 The servers were all nice, polite and friendly.

    UME Sushi set

A friend of mine suggested to visit here; and I was glad I did. Cloudy Autumn evening, stopped by for a sushi dinner. Place was rather empty as there were only a few customers inside. However, phone kept ringing as lots of take-out / delivery orders coming as it seemed. Single waitress was handling everything by herself on the floor and take-out orders. Anyway, order needed to be placed from mobile phone after scanning QR code on tables. ...did not know this and wasted quite time just waiting for being served. Ordered UME Sushi set - came with a small salad, miso soup, and Sushi plate. I don't have much to say about Salad and miso soup except that salad dressing was too sweet for my taste. Sushi plate, however, came out nicely...honestly, did not expect that quality and amount. For the price, it was really a good deal, I thought. Only two wishes I have - real Wasabi and all sushi pieces were of different fish. As seen in a pic, Tuna and Salmon came two pieces each. Overall, sushi was good choice and highly recommended.

I wanted to love this place but I am not sure I'd endorse it. It was the only option open in the area for sushi at 4 pm. Sushi was just ok, fish tasted not spoiled but not super fresh either. My main complaint is absolute lack of service: very not hospitable waitress, who never checked up on me at any point. Ordered from a QR code, she brought the food out. I had to get up myself to request a water refill, which at this point should just be self serve if you aren't checking up on your customers (and I was the only one, so it wasn't even busy). I would not be going back.

Always love a good bento box, and this one was very tasty. Tempura was crisp, sushi was fresh, and the variety is just as I was looking for. Service was friendly. I find that it's sometimes harder to find bento boxes come dinner time so this is a great option.

At its price range, To-Ne Sushi has some of the best service in the city. The team are friendly and attentive but never too much. The sushi menu is excellent (though if you're looking for sushi that is usually MP on most menus, this isn't the place to order it.) Decor is clean and simple, and tables are nicely spaced out so you're never too close to your neighbours. The sushi is plated nicely with some flowers too! ------------------ For more food and travel, follow me on Instagram @yamisohungry!

2 orders of avocado salmon sushi with brown rice.
    Signe L.

I ordered avocado and salmon roll with brown rice, which was listed as gluten free. I also got the seafood salad and specified "no tempura bits". I made a coconut aminos, coconut vinegar and umeboshi plum sauce for the wasabi as I prefer to eat soy-free. The sushi was good. The salad was beautiful and plentiful but the fish on top was dry, though fresh. It was great to have avocado and thinly sliced cucumber in it. The ginger offering was too small. Overall good, but not the best. I'd get it again on foodora since I now know they have brown rice, which is super hard to find.

If you're looking for a good, high quality sushi at a reasonable price then check this place out...I stopped in for lunch, and got you the spicy roll special - 6 spicy salmon, 6 spicy tuna and 6 spicy crab rolls with miso soup and salad - all for $14.50! What a steal! My buddy ordered Salmon sashimi (5), mixed sushi (5) and 6 piece California rolls, with miso soup and salad - all for $14.50! We ate family style and could barely finish everything...to top it off free green tea! The sashimi was ok, but the sushi was excellent and maki was phenomenal! I don't know about you, but I like my spicy rolls with a bit of crunch and this is exactly what they were! The California roll was really good too - melt in your mouth avocado...mmm..I can still taste it If you're in the area and are looking for a place for a quick bite, this is the place to go! I'll definitely be back!

Great service, affordable, beautiful presentation of food (who decorates with real flowers? To-ne does!), free miso ramen soup, and fresh fish. They have a huge selection of different roll set combos - which are great for sharing and trying new flavours. Though, size of the rolls have become smaller than what they used to be.

Lee is the one restaurant I look forward to every Summerlicious…read more One reason is that every year they create a completely new menu instead of reusing dishes from their regular menu. As an Asian fusion restaurant, I always come curious to see what new ideas the chef has come up with. The last two Summerlicious menus disappointed me a little--they felt a bit uninspired, with dishes like the vegetable curry and croquette. This year, however, the creativity is back, and I'd happily recommend Lee's Summerlicious menu again. Fried Wild Cod The crispy cod is served in an edible crispy rice basket, making it feel like sharing bread at the start of the meal. The fish is fried perfectly with a crisp exterior and moist, flaky interior. Paired with Thai sweet chili sauce, it's light, flavorful, and great for sharing. Gazpacho Picante A refreshing take on gazpacho. The avocado gives it a smoother texture, while the hint of spice adds another layer without overpowering the chilled tomato soup. Refreshing and a great appetizer. BBQ Jerk Pork Ribs Three generous ribs--almost a main course on their own. The meat is tender while still retaining a bit of bite, similar to the texture of slow-cooked jerk chicken. The jerk seasoning is excellent, coating every bite with rich, aromatic spices. Pan Roasted Salmon The salmon is beautifully cooked with a nicely caramelized exterior while remaining juicy inside. Each accompaniment brings something different: the olive tapenade is deeply savory, the parsnip purée is smooth and slightly sweet, the lima bean adds a creamy, nutty richness, and the lemon-tomato-pepper vinaigrette brightens everything with acidity and a gentle kick. Lima Bean Succotash Probably the prettiest dish on the menu--and also the most unusual. The lima beans and peas are cooked until tender without becoming mushy. The flavors are layered, but there's a subtle bitterness throughout. After asking the chef, we learned it's the natural flavor of lima beans and was intentionally preserved as part of the dish. Fried Organic Chicken The fried chicken is juicy and tender, reminding me of Japanese karaage. It comes with two fun sauces: one is rich and spicy with a hint of coconut, while the other is a sweet pineapple-lime mayo that pairs surprisingly well with the chicken. The pandan rice, however, was fairly ordinary. The desserts are still classic Lee--beautifully plated, but the flavors are more restrained. We tried the Rhubarb Almond Frangipane Tart, Lemon Mousse Panna Cotta (our favorite), and Strawberry Raspberry Monkey Bread. This year's Summerlicious reminded me why I fell in love with Lee in the first place.

I also highly recommend the wine paring they suggest having with the salad :) Everything else on the menu was done really well. The cheeseburger spring roll was quite unique, Indo think there could've been more texturally inside the actual spring roll, it was all mush in there. Very nice ambiance, service were very attentive, I had a great time and will be back to try more items :)

While I often find the tasting menu at these types of restaurants don't provide enough food for the price, this restaurant was the exception. The meal was filling and balanced, and I left feeling it was money well spent. I strongly recommend getting the fixed menu. Every review I read about the place raved about the flavors so I came in with high expectations. We ordered 5 dishes and although there were a variety of textures and layers to each dish, everything seemed to have the same flavour or garnish. After a while everything started to taste very similar to the dish brought out just before. Crispy garlic and chili oil seemed to be the lingering taste in each dish. The only item that didnt contain these were the tacos which werent anything special. The tofu dish wasthe most enjoyable for me but again was topped with a lot of that chili oil that took over after a while. Truffe fried rice had a beautiful aroma but the truffe flavor wasnt as strong. Just missed the mark with me on this one but truly had high hopes for it. Great ambiance. Friendly service. Two levels. With prices of an upscale dining restaurant, the service didn't feel like it matched up; it was fairly mediocre. Food was a bit of a hit or miss for us too.. Shrimp toast: fun, good texture, could taste the oiliness stronger than I expected. Paired well with the emulsion. Fun guo: super tasty, quite greasy though. I typically don't order fun guo but the texture was a delight to eat. Pork & crab siu mai: this felt like it lacked identity, not really sure I saw the vision. It just felt like curry on a siu mai lol Iberico cha siu: beautiful cut, perfectly tender, good savouriness, no complaints. R&D fried rice: my biggest letdown. Maybe my expectations were set to high. For a house special, I would expect a solid crowd-pleaser. Having each bite feeling mostly like 'crunch' is not what I think of as fried rice nor a favourite for most people. My ideal fried rice focuses on the grains of rice, with substantial bite and flavour in each spoonful. The flavour was most definitely there, don't get me wrong but it was extremely hard to eat more than a bowl. The redeeming qualities were in the flavour and cute little mushroom garden concept. If they had maybe 2x the amount of rice for the ratio of toppings and crunch, I would say this is a delicious and near perfect fried rice. Not bad, but a hefty price tag for a meal that I had really high hopes for.
