I visited Kin Sushi for lunch today because I didn't bring food to work. The plaza was something else since every store there had obsidian black signs in unison, so you couldn't even tell what was what if you were driving past by (you would've probably thought that they were all the same store/or some industrial park). Kin Sushi was absurdly connected to a Money Mart and a computer store, and it looked like they all shared the same entrance since everything was black. I'm not sure what happened there, but that was really bad (or good) marketing. If it were the plaza owner's rule, that's just really silly, and the stores should have said something about it. The interior of the sushi spot was pretty nice doe - very spacious and clean, though it still had some sushi smells. I wanted something light so I ordered the sashimi bento. Overall the fish was fresh, and the salad & the miso soup were delicious. I really liked the torched fish sashimi (which I think was hamachi?) otherwise it was a very standard sushi meal, with lots of edamame. It was not big (about 18-19 dollars, including taxes), but it was exactly what I needed. Food was ok but not comparable to the sushi places I love like Kintako. I didn't see any bento boxes on the menu, only teriyaki meal and sushi/sashimi meals separate. I got the salmon teriyaki with rice, a bed of sautéed onions and carrots, salad, and miso soup - almost $20. Family got a salmon don and California rolls. They were quick in serving but getting the receipt and then paying took more time. There were more people arriving after us and a few uber drivers picking up. It wasn't very noisy. The tea cup had tea stains all inside it. On the way to the bathroom, one of the waitresses (not our tables), told me it's for customers only, not realizing I was already in the restaurant for like an hour, and we finished and paid for our meals. This is one of my favourite sushi places (in my top 3) I generally enjoy AYCE but Kin Sushi options for A La Cart are always fresh, filling and very satisfying. I always come here after shopping so the Grocery Outlet Next store! The servers here are always incredibly friendly! Today, our server informed us that their HVAC was down so it might be colder than usual (which was fine to us) and she brought us hot green tea to make sure we were well cared for. The food is always fresh and delicious. As a vegetarian they put a lot of care into ensuring the food is not contaminated (a huge issue I have at other locations with fish eggs always making it way to my dishes) but I never have this issue here. Their lunch specials end at 3 pm and are a GREAT price and portion size! Complimentary dessert of red bean sesame balls were brought out with the bill! I came here for takeout as I was on a course near by. I ordered thru their website online system and got the beef teriyaki and tempura combo off lunch menu and added a spicy salmon roll. The beef was like steak and you can taste the way they grill the charcoal flavor was amazing. It was paired with a 5 piece tempura (shrimp, zucchini, sweet potato) it was super light and crisp and the oil tasted fresh. With the lunch combo you get some edamame, a spring roll, salad and miso soup. The spicy salmon roll was great with good rice to fish portion. read more

My Mom is visiting and staying fairly close on Sheppard so we needed a quick bite on Tuesday Night. I put the Uber Eats pick up order in and 10 minutes later we arrived. We got the Sushi and Sashmi Combo, the Roll Combo A (California, Yam and Spicy Salmon) and the Negitoro Oshi (Smoked Tuna). This came with Salad and Miso. I was pleasantly surprised at all the food. I was trying to explore new sushi choices and tried takeout from this place. The food quality was quite mediocre here and is not to my liking. Portion was quite big though. I ordered - Ebi mayo: breading was too thick. Not tasty. - Unagi avocado roll: each piece was giant, but flavour was not delicate. - Deluxe sushi: Not tasty. - Salmon oshi: Again, each piece was huge and filling. It was spicy which was different from what I expected. Tasted quite average. - Bulgogi: The beef was super hard and dry. Horrible dish. Overall, the food here is very filling, but doesn't have the delicate taste that some sushi restaurants with similar prices would offer. Checked out this sushi spot after some Bday escape room fun and it was very close by. There was 9 of us in my group. I have been here a while before and remember it being decent. This time around I did not enjoy it as much. There was 1 hand sanitizer stand as soon as you walk in but I didn't notice any others around or special signs for covid precautions, but then again, the covid restrictions are on the steady decline. First my friend tried ordering some sake from the menu and the 3 sake out of the 4 we were looking to order to share were not available, which was annoying. We settled for the house sake which wasn't great. My other friend tried to order a white wine but they didn't have the couple she was looking at so she ended ordering a beer. We told our server let us know what you have lol, which didn't leave a good impression with us. I ordered the godzillar roll to start. It Is a California/ Spicy tuna roll with some tempura crunchy bits with unagi on top and spicy mayo sauce. Roll was good and was a pretty good size. Although there was shredded crab inside instead of spicy tuna. I like shredded crab so I wasn't bothered too much over that. I did request no tobiko (flying fish roe), cause I don't like fish eggs. It ended upcoming with the tobiko which I wasn't thrilled about but still ate it anyways. Next I had the 16pc Sushi/Sashimi combo with came with a miso soup and salad. Majority of pieces was salmon and tuna. I thought there would be more of an assortment and the lack of variety made it disappointing. Salmon was ok which is too be expected as salmon is usually the most forgiving of the sushi fish. If there is something wrong with the salmon sushi at a restaurant you get up and leave lol. The Tuna was a bit mushy and lacked flavour. The other pieces of fish were average and didn't stand out either way. The service was not very good. Our server was young and probably inexperienced or not prepared for our larger 9 person group but it look like he was over whelmed a bit and not very friendly. He handed us the machine to pay and was standing right there when my friend was deciding on a tip and made for an awkward moment. We were there close to closing and the other lady servers looked annoyed that we weren't finishing up quick enough for 10pm and were giving us annoyed looks which further added to overall bad mood. Good thing about this place is that there is ample parking in the plaza. Bathroom was clean overall, but there was a table with misc items on it which was weird. Went here for lunch, pretty quiet since it's a weekday which worked out for me as I didn't need to wait. We made it in time for their lunch menu which included bento box combos for a reasonable price. The combos include miso soup, spring roll, edaname, and salad. I got the beef teriyaki bento, which included rice and 6 pieces of california roll. The food overall tasted quite delicious. Surprisingly, my favourite was their California roll. The rice was cooked perfectly, and the avocado they used was pretty ripe. The beef teriyaki was cooked to my liking, but I didn't necessarily like how they had sliced it, so it felt a bit underwhelming. I had a chance to taste their sashimi, and that was pretty good, so I would recommend getting that as a bento if you like sashimi. Overall, I enjoyed their food, and I would come back to try their sushi rolls. The atmosphere is pretty good, spacious, and clean. My co-workers and I go to this fantastic sushi restaurant for lunch and I'll get takeout on my way home from work. Really great service, fresh sushi and I think we've become regulars. I often get the lunch specials and their dinners are delicious. Generous portions so make sure you have an appetite. They include salad, edamame and soup. They have light dishes too like torch sushi. The sesame balls at the end of lunch is a sweet treat. Great friendly, casual dining with a contemporary decor. Totally recommend them! read more

My wife and I were waiting for our son while he played basketball, so we decided to look for a sushi restaurant in our area. We were fortunate to find one, and we're so glad we did! Both of us ordered sushi and sashimi, and it was fantastic. I had requested a pot of green tea but was served two cups instead. This has happened to me at another similar restaurant, so I'm wondering if they no longer offer tea in a pot; I would have appreciated being informed of that. Overall, we highly recommend this location because the fish is very fresh. We also noticed that they do a lot of takeout with Uber and Skip; we spotted about 15 delivery drivers during our visit. A note in advance: this is my second visit to the restaurant so I'm basing my review relative to my first visit in Dec 2019, when I would have rated this place a 5/5 based on food presentation, value, and quality. The first 5 photos are from my first visit. I went with a large group so we ordered a variety of specialty rolls, and as you can see everything was beautifully plated! Sashimi was fresh and the rolls were delicious! I have been missing this place ever since my first visit and finally got the chance to come by again recently. The last 3 photos showed what we ordered recently. Assorted aburi sushi - I think the chef may have given us an extra piece as it's supposed to come with 9pcs based on the menu. The fish was good but I don't think they were properly torched. I'm also not sure why the bottom of the rice was also torched and even had a slightly burnt flavour. A little disappointed with this. Rock & Roll specialty roll - basically a California roll with soft shell crab on top. The crab was quite crispy but this roll was nothing to rave about. Assorted sashimi - large thick cuts of sashimi that were quite fresh. We actually wanted to change our order from aburi sushi to oishi sushi, but it was too late, so they gave us 4pcs of specialty salmon roll on the house (last photo). That was very nice of them and uncalled for. Overall, fast and friendly service. I was a tad disappointed with the plating and quality since they set the bar really high the first time. Came here after rock climbing and it was the perfect place to grab a quick bite! They were only open for takeout. Tip: 10% off all takeout orders over $20 paid in cash! We ordered and the man serving us asked if we wanted any complimentary soft drinks, told us the wait would be less than 5 minutes. We were in disbelief but sure enough he emerged with all of our food in record speed. He directed us to his favourite picnic table to eat nearby and it was about 10 steps around the corner from the restaurant. I ordered the over the rainbow roll which features torched fish and crab. The sauce was really good and came with lots of ginger which I was very happy with. My friends ordered the chicken katsu don and chicken karaage don, both pretty large portions for the price range. Another ordered the white snow roll which also had torched fish. I tried the katsu and it was delicious - chicken was perfectly crispy and the rice was so moist underneath. Party of 5. Sat by the window for lunch. Service was friendly and the portions were fresh and huge! We ordered way too much and had to pack the leftovers. Since it was our first time, we ordered assorted rolls and standard maki which you'll see in the pics. The choices are fantastic! Our 15yo son was in heaven with his spicy tuna roll and we agreed with another Yelper that the tempura batter was heavy. We suggest sticking with sushi, sashimi and rolls. We'll definitely return next time we are in TO. Love this location with ample free parking in North York! This place opened up close to me just before quarantine happened. I was craving sushi and decided to try it out. I've been twice now and it's great. The people working there are so nice and pleasant. I walked in tonight for take out and was told that it would take 15 min. I was totally ok with that. As I was waiting one of the hostesses brought me a bottled water on the house which was not necessary at all but that makes a huge impression. The food is outstanding and some of the best sushi I've had in the GTA. I'm so happy to have a great spot within walking distance. I'll def become a regular. Def give this place a try! Great sushi with easy pickup and large portions! We had the sashimi set and the dynamite set, which was perfect for two people. We found the sashimi to be great quality, thick cut, and absolutely delicious. The dynamites it was great also, with the maki dynamite rolls being ginormous. Great little addition to the neighbourhood. They've been opened for about 3 weeks now. There's not a lot of eateries in the area, so this is a nice change for us. We had lunch here and the lunch specials were reasonable priced with large portions. Restaurant is big, bright, clean and customer service was amazing. This restaurant is owned by Korean people I think. For some reason I think Korean people really know how to do sushi. They just open not so long ago. I came here for lunch and they have lunch specials. I got the bento with tempura. Everything is so fresh and yummy. They are very flexible to changing or substituting the type of sashimi/fish. I personally love salmon sashimi and for an extra two dollars they can give you nine pieces of sashimi other than the assorted pieces with that lunch special option. It was so fresh and yummy that I came here twice in two weeks. Definitely need to make a trip here. Do you only thing about this restaurant is that it doesn't have air condition. The service was good they had about 3-5 servers coming in and out and refill your hot tea which was nice. The food was good. The rolls we had were Lion King, Jalepeno bomb, something avocado. Were all delish and excellent presentation. We ordered the Udon Seafood Noodles which was not good. very little seafood in that one lots of veggies. Also got Tofu terriyaki which was good it came with the regular soup and salad. The Sunomo Veggie noodles was good. They have limited seating inside can only accommodate about 20 guests i'd say so it was busy and line ups can be seen after 7pm. Great sushi spot if you're ever in the area! I live nearby and always used to pass by this spot on my way home from work (before COVID) but have never gotten to try it. So imagine how delighted I was to see they also offer delivery through all the major delivery apps! This is now my go to sushi spot near home. The workers here are super nice and the sushi tastes so fresh. The restaurant also does a great job ensuring it is well packed for delivery and for takeout.
