    Sashimi Lunch
    T H.

I am a sashimi lover and need to get my fix once in a while. I saw this restaurant with great reviews on Yelp, so I was very excited to try the lunch sashimi today. I was hoping to find a new good sushi place to take my sons there. I didn't want to eat there by myself, so I ordered to take home. The staff was very nice and tentative. The restaurant was about 1/3 full round 1 pm, understandable since it passed lunchtime. Within 5 minutes, I got what I ordered and happily walked out the door. I was a bit disappointed when I opened the lunch box when I got home. The sashimi pieces were so thin and small. They tasted good, but after finishing the whole lunch, I was still very hungry. I will not take my sons there for sure.

So when I came here for a Saturday lunch, was the only customer they had. I'm assuming I was probably their first for the day since I went right around 12. Having to order from their menu, I didn't know the lunch menu was at supposedly the very back of the original menu since I wasn't sure if they had a lunch menu on weekends perhaps. I came here upon Yelp reviews of the cheaper sushi yet also good quality. The price is good - 11.50 for a 6 pc sushi and 6 pc California roll so it's not bad in pricing. Bang for buck - this is probably the dish that gets the most items for what you pay for in comparison to the menu. That being said, there isn't much to complain about for what you're paying for I suppose. Small environment / business, the good thing about the sushi is that they give torched butterfish (I think it was torched) so it was different from the other sushi places that you'd go to. Miso soup isn't as salty as some other restaurants can really make theirs so if you like soup - this one wasn't bad. I give it a 3/5 just because I have a feeling they could do better overall with explaining the menu a little and actually suggesting any specials of the day (or maybe they didn't) but I think there is probably other better places too. Parking here is very cramped. So..would suggest to be careful when parking in the lot. And yes - there is parking in it's small plaza it's in

My family and I came here as a last minute dinner situation and found this place through yelp. Upon arrival, parking is difficult. They have a shared lot but it was quite crowded from other stores. They have minimal seating and it seemed like there were more people coming here for takeout. We ended up ordering the four person set which came with loads of sushi/sashimi, a tempura platter, and soups and salads for four people. Sushi and sashimi were pretty good and was presented very well (came out on a mini lazy susan). Service was on point as well, as our waitress checked up on us frequently and kept out water cups full.

Dynamite combo which comes with 16 pieces. Delicious and fresh.

Went to Koji Sushi from reading all the reviews left by everyone. Decided to give it a go, the interior decor is very appealing for being in the symington/DuPont area. The waitress and chef behind the sushi bar are very kind and friendly. The food we order are 2 donburi fish and the dynamite combo. Simply delicious, will be coming back to this establishment.

Koji is good! Finally a sushi place out west to cater to the Emerson junction triangle! The fish was fresh and their portions are perfect. I had the lunch sashimi combo and shared the salmon sushi pizza. I will definitely go back as it is the nearest to me and it is also a nice little place to catch up with friends too. The staff was friendly and they were great with service. This place is relatively new so decor is still coming in. All in all I liked the food and the price was also decent.

This is our neighbourhood go-to sushi place. They are always so nice and the sushi is quite good. The platter for 2 great and could probably feed 3! The chef is very creative and made us a special sushi plate. Highly recommend A+

Currently eating here. Ordered the Chicken Katsu Don Buri. Chicken is well cooked and moist yet still crunchy with the bread crumbs. Sauce tastes great with the rice too. Wife had the chicken teriyaki. Not dry at all. Wasn't bad but the Katsu Don is preferred over the teriyaki. Decent portions too. The place is clean, service is great. They are very friendly here. Highly recommend this place for folks looking for some decent quality Japanese. I believe the place is run my Korean folks so though no 100% authentic Japanese, it's as good as it gets. This place could use more business! Don't let the ghetto Portuguese vibes throw you off!

White Dragon Roll. My absolute favourite. The butter fish is lightly torched and is amazing!!

We have lived in the area for a couple of years and until recently had never been to Koji. In the past 2 weeks we've now gone twice! We don't go out for food often so it says a LOT that we've been there so often in minimal time. My boyfriend and I love it there. It's the only place in Toronto where the sushi is actually interesting and has many different taste experiences. The chef is so creative and we were thoroughly wowed by our dishes that we ordered The service is very friendly and warm. We went back the second time with my boyfriends sisters who also absolutely loved it! We will be back!

Sushi Bento Box. Sashimi and Spicy Tuna which I requested for and they gladly catered to.

Really great service. Servers were very kind and even the prep staff said goodbye and thank you when we left. Awesome lunch menu and a beautiful set up.

    Delicious.

I love Koji Sushi (uploaded some pics). That being said, I ended up bringing a couple of friends here from out of town (they loved it too). They offer fresh, and delicious sushi... and they present it very nice too! Lovely staff and space.

It's my go-to spot to get my don fix - I love the wide variety of dons (rice bowls) that they offer with various fish and seafood combinations. There are also unique appetizers in the menu, such as Purple Yam Croquettes, Crab Crackers, Braised Bamboo Shoots with Shirasu (immature whitebait fish), and Takowasa (marinated raw octopus pieces, to be eaten with or wrapped in nori / seaweed). Although the dons are the main highlight of their menu (hence the restaurant name), they also offer traditional sushi, sashimi, sushi rolls and sets (similar to other Japanese sushi restaurants). Miso Aburi Scallops were very flavourful - nicely torched, giving the scallops a nice grill / char taste. They came with red and green seaweed, and a bit of fish roe. Large Premium Hana Don contained a good amount of fish and seafood, including a whole abalone, uni, shrimp in the shell, aburi salmon, ikura (salmon roe), salmon sashimi, tuna sashimi, yellowtail sashimi, other various fish sashimi, tamago (egg), and a few slices of cucumber on a generous bed of rice. I liked that the rice was a mix of white rice and some type of dark-coloured grains. Unatama Don came with a big piece of unagi and tamago (egg) that were both excellent. The sashimi were all fresh. Okonomiyaki was disappointing but it was sort of expected... for only $9, it was about 99% just flour pan-fried in a patty, without any substantial fillings (unlike real okonomiyaki, which usually contains protein / seafood, cabbage, eggs, and other ingredients). Location is super convenient near Bay & Dundas, ambiance is very casual, and service is quick.

The aburi-style salmon sushi was one of the highlights for me.. lightly seared, with a soft texture and just enough flavor on top without being overwhelming. The tuna tataki was also fresh and clean, simple but well done. The menu is set up to where you pick the entree and then what type of protein you want out of pork loin, chicken, fish, cheese, and sweet potato cheese. I settled on the sweet chili katsu. I ate a couple of pieces and the crisp texture and flavor was wonderful. I had a bite of rice and when I got to the cabbage to my dismay I found a long piece of hair in it. I immediately lost my appetite and all I could think about was how great the two bites of chicken was. I gave up the plate and showed the staff what I found. They offered another plate a couple of times and after I declined a refund was issued. Katsuya. sucks for serving me one of the best pieces of breaded chicken in my life with hair in the food. I'm struggling to hold back the tears now as I write. I did get to try the parmesan fries which were ok. I also tasted the udon which is not one of their stronger dishes. This probably would have been five stars had it not been for the hair. I know this happens on the rare occasion but probably shouldn't if hair nets are worn.
