John wanted to try this place despite the fact that it's located in one of the busiest shopping centers in the area. Luckily it's on the outskirts so we were in and out of the parking lot pretty quickly and easily. The restaurant is quite beautiful inside. Great decor and very clean. We had the place to ourselves. We ordered ourselves on the self-serve touchscreen device. The girl in the front of the counter (who was very nice) seemed to be doing all of the work. There were two guys in the back and I'm not sure what they were doing except walking around and chatting to one another. She prepared the salads, put the meals together and got the drinks. Everything took a bit longer than it should have but a customer kept asking her questions and distracting her. The food came out and everything tasted good. I got the savory noodle salad. John got a mango lassi which he said seemed a bit thin. Everything is served on disposable dishes--even wooden utensils. I'm glad they are not using plastic but it's disappointing to see so many restaurants using disposables when people are dining in. We would definitely come back again.
Very fresh and flavorful + refreshing food that doesn't make you feel greased out after eating. My boyfriend I got the triple plate with burmese shrimp, mint jalapeño chicken, and basil beef. These three were probably our favorite 3 entrees that we got. Each was so flavorful but unique and didn't all taste the same. Also got the single plate with just the string bean beef and pineapple fried rice. This was solid too but not as much of a pun h as the other proteins. We tried their signature tea leaf salad along with the burmese chicken salad. I really enjoyed the sweat and sour flavor of the burmese chicken salad, and the tea leaf salad was super crunchy and nutty. I am not the biggest fan of nuts so that one wasn't my favorite. For drinks, we got the mango lassi and burmese milk tea. The mango lassi was super strong on the yogurt which I wasn't used to but it grew on me. Burmese milk tea was delish; reminds me of HK milk tea. It's a "fast food" concept like panda express but the food is a lot more fresh. They are constantly cooking it to refill. All the workers were so nice :) The place was nicely lit up and super clean. Will be back! Overall: 4.1/5
*** USP: Burmese panda express. They also have the popular Burmese tea leaf salad. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food. But one should expect some of the items to be sitting around for some time. ***AMBIANCE: bright, high ceiling, clean. Self service kiosks are available. They have displays showing the order status as well. ***FOOD: quality of the food is way better than panda express without being overly expensive. We tried the pineapple fried rice, Burmese noodles, mint jalapeno chicken and pepper chicken. The chicken had a delicate cut and was tender without being overly cooked. The flavors are on the milder side. Quantities are generous. Overall this is going to get on my monthly rotation given its proximity to our regular Costco location. On a side note the one plate entree was served in a plastic container while the two plate entree came in a paper container. I wish they offer greener alternatives for all options on the menu.
When I think about Burmese food, fish chowder came to my mind immediately, but this place does not have it. They offer low-cost fast food like Panda Express, with a slight Burmese element. So 3 star for food, 4 star for restroom and the clean ambiance, also a 3 star for the service. This place is just bad at inventory management, probably with a heavy stress on cost savings. Came at 6:45 and it took forever to get to a kiosk to order even they have 3 out there. I noticed there's a cashier station but no staff offered to come take our orders. After you place the order on the kiosk, make sure you remember your order number as that's what they call you upon. Best value item is their milk tea, only $3.5 and taste good. No boba inside but has the right amount of tea flavor and not overly sweet. After placing the order, I wandered to their food display area and was quite shocked to see most items were already out or at the bottom of the tray. We ordered 2 items, one with 3 mains and one with 2 mains. We waited a good 20-25 minutes for them to pack up our order because they had to cook a new batch of Burmese shrimp. If I came at 8:30, I understand that all is left are probably scraps. But at prime dinner time of 7, how could most items be out? The tofu eggplant was horribly oily, we also ordered mango chicken (not bad), black pepper beef (couldn't tell it's beef), sesame chicken (average, nothing to write home about), Burmese shrimp (the most flavorful item we ordered), pineapple rice and Burmese noodles. I tasted sweetness in the noodle while my kid complained it was spicy. They have a loyalty system, each dollar of spending is worth a point. After earning 1000 points, you can redeem a garlic noodle with costs 10 bucks if you buy.
The inside is so cute, clean, and modern! There's plenty of seating, and they have an open food line so you can watch them make the salads or build your bowl. The staff is super friendly and helpful. When I asked about vegan food options, they mentioned that only the salads are vegan and recommended the tea leaf salad, so I went with that. The tea leaf salad was delicious! I appreciate when a non-vegan restaurant offers vegan options, but I wish they offered a vegan protein, like grilled tofu, to make the salad more of a complete meal. Or maybe even something in the hot food section.
Great food, but a few small hiccups with the service and wait. I'll give them benefit of the doubt since they just opened and are working out the kinks. We stopped by Tleaf Green in and took our order to go. It has a very nicely lit, modern, and lively atmosphere. You order at the counter and they prepare it for you. Like Panda Express style. Our dish was a Kitchen Plate with Burmese Noodles, Pineapple Fried Rice, and Black Pepper Chicken: Loved it! The flavor was great, though the portion size wasn't the biggest, but still decent for a meal. I tried to substitute lettuce for one of the starches, but they declined. Go figure. The staff was super friendly, but it did take about 10 minutes to get my order. That felt like a bit of a long wait considering it is a Panda Express style counter ordering setup. But like I said, it's brand new. If you are in the area and looking for some Burmese food with good flavor, it is worth trying out.
My family and I had a great time dining here for a late lunch! It was pretty empty when we arrived on a Saturday around 4 pm. You can either order with their self service kiosks or order at the front! My mom was hesitant since she never tried Burmese food before. The wait was about 10 minutes since they cook the food fresh. We got: - Burmese Fried Chicken + half fried rice + half noodles single plate = great chicken! Crunchy with lots of other items like pineapple, mango, and cucumber! So much fresh flavor. - Sesame Chicken + noodles single plate = the sesame chicken is soooo good! Crunchy and crispy and great coating. - garlic noodles = savory and smooth noodles with a great garlic taste that wasn't overpowering whatsoever. Great dining experience and my family would definitely come here again!
Quite disappointed with our food experience here. The food is cold, portions are not consistent, from some pictures the portions are more but with our orders tonight, portions were small. We ate in so we expected the food to be warm and not cold! The Burmese shrimps were tasty, the eggplant with tofu were dry. The noodles and the pineapple rice need more flavor. The beef with string beans was also tasty. The mango chicken had mostly onions and less chicken pieces. Overall, consistency in portions, and food temperature should be maintained. The food warmers don't look like they were turned on. Looks like food will be warm if they just got done cooking. Our food evidently has been sitting in their cold food trays. The place was clean and nice! This is fast food Burmese Chinese food.
This was my very first time checking out TLeafGreen, and I wish I discovered it sooner! The entire space is super modern, pristine, and clean. I love that they let you sample dishes before deciding what to order! They offer a huge variety on the menu, ranging from fresh salads to hot favorites like basil dried chili beef, honey walnut shrimp, and sesame chicken. The Bay Area really needs more healthy, fast-casual spots serving fresh food like this. I got the Burmese Chicken Salad, which was packed with unique, vibrant flavor. The crunch in every single bite made it so satisfying to eat! The staff members were extremely sweet and welcoming throughout my visit. The only tiny hitch was that my name was not taken during the order, so I had to walk back up to the counter to check on my food after waiting a bit, but the team resolved it quickly. I will definitely be back with friends to try more of their dishes!
We had been happy with satisfying our Burmese food cravings at TleafGreen a couple times since it opened and never had any problems until this month. We ordered the family meal and normally ordered one each of the garlic and Burmese noodles but this time, the cashier said garlic noodles were no longer included. Sign posted above clearly still showed it was an option but he refused saying the change was just made. They need to fix their signs. The next issue was the amount of food they placed inside the large family meal containers. It varied quite a bit this time. The eggplant and tofu dish was the worst example that was barely half filled and you could see the bottom of the container. Next time we'll need to monitor the packing. The last issue was the inconsistency in taste. The Burmese noodles were quite bland this time like there was a lack of seasoning. In contrast, we also ordered the tea leaf for the first time and their version was generously packed with dressing and crunchy toppings we mixed together on our own. Hopefully this was just a one off event.
*Vegetarian Foodie Review* I took my family and friends to this restaurant. It's fairly new. Here's what we ordered: 1) Golden Mango Salad: 5/5: Must try! The best mango salad I have ever had at any Asian or Burmese restaurants. It was made fresh and the portion size was quite good. 2) Double Plate Entree: 5/5: For the base I did Burmese noodles, and my two entrees were Kabocha tofu curry and Eggplant & tofu garlic. So flavorful and fresh -- hands down the best combination ever. 3) Little Greens Plate: 5/5: for my 5 year old. Ordered one side as Burmese noodles and the entree as Kabocha tofu curry. For the drink that comes with the dish, my kid chose the mango lassi and it was heavenly. She finished all her food. My only note is that I wish the veggies in the tofu curry were cut a little smaller as they were too big to eat in one go, so I had to cut them into smaller bites for her. The ambiance was very casual and had a nice cozy set up. You could call it a Panda Express type of setup, but its basically Burmese fast food. They have another branch in Fremont, Burma Bay Cafe, which bas been popular for a while. I have been to that one before which is family style. I am loving this newer spot with the fast-food kind of vibe, which is super casual and basically a subset of the Burma Bay Cafe menu. Service was fast -- only the salad took a while, but that made sense since they were making it fresh. Definitely coming back to try other dishes, especially the huge variety of salad items on the menu.
Outstanding in every single way: food, service, ambiance. Food was a good portion but still high quality's black pepper chicken and mango chicken delish, as was the curry. My toddlers and husband enjoyed this place. Seating was comfortable. Place is spacious and clean. Service was friendly and generous, as they offered us a sample! I would definitely come here again, especially since it's right by Costco! I can't think of a better fast casual place in the area.
I visited TleafGreen for the first time, and I was genuinely impressed! The menu has so many options to choose from that it was hard to decide because everything looked so tempting. It's one of those places where you'll definitely want to come back just by looking the menu. If you're a fan of salads- this is the place!! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Overall, it was a wonderful first visit, and I'm so glad I stopped by. It is a bit far from my place but if I'm around the area- i definitely want to try Burmese salad next. !! This time I had Eggplant tofu and Burmese noodles which was delicious.

The combo is a great deal. Food taste is good value for what you pay for. However do not order the la carte. I ordered a large size entree and a small one and I was charged almost $5 more. Please see the size for comparison. The large is the one on the right and small on the left. It's a scam!!!!! read more

Final Thoughts: 4.20/5 This place appears comparable to foods that you would find at perhaps a Panda Express. Slight differences to some of the foods and place, however. Note that they provide Burmese bowls/plates/foods. It is giving slightly less casual given the environment itself. It's a full restaurant. With the two experiences I've had so far, definitely will be a 4 stars for me. Food: I've gotten the single plate and double plate here. Bases that I have gotten are: 1) Brown rice 2) Pineapple fried rice 3) Burmese noodles Entrees that I have gotten are: 1) Sesame Chicken: 4.0/5 This is their chicken that is lightly fried and then coated in sauce (soy sauce, vinegar, honey) and the topped with sesame seeds. Nicely sweet, salty, and umami. Sesame adds a nuttiness and some depth. I love the sticky sauce that it's coated in. Chicken is very tender, as well. Personal preference is orange chicken, but this works for me too. 2) Veggie Tofu Curry: 3.5/5 One of their vegetarian dishes that has kabocha squash, coconut milk, evaporated milk, curry power, broccoli, carrots, onion, garlic, and ginger. Hmm...nothing too special about this one, but I like the curry. Veggies are quite soft for me and may be slightly overdone. Good veggie option for me. The tofu is a nice alternative for a protein for me. Some contrast added to my dish. 3) Teriyaki Chicken: 4.0/5 This is their marinated chicken thigh with teriyaki sauce, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, honey, and pineapple juice. The chicken is super tender. Good protein for me. It's very straightforward and perhaps a dish that usually doesn't fail me. The sauce is super sticky and coats the chicken very well. 4) Honey Walnut Shrimp: 4.0/5 Friend's entrée that I took a piece of. Pretty standard item. This item does come with an upcharge, so just a note. The shrimps are quite pump. Sauce is good. I like that it's not drowning in the sauce and not super greasy from the mayo. Balance of sweetness saltiness is good for me. Walnuts are candied and adds that additional texture and sweetness to the whole dish. 5) Basil Dried Chili Beef: 3.0/5 This one is alright. Again, another one that I tried from my friend. It's a soft and fairly tender piece of beef. For the seasoning, it feels like a dry rub, which, I'm not too fond of. It is well seasoned though, so perhaps others will like it overall. Not my personal favorite though. --------- Quality: Fair Their quality is quite good. Honestly, it can be comparable to place like Panda Express, but their foods are really good. Very flavorful. A lot of it is simple foods like teriyaki chicken or veggie tofu curry. I've tried a few of their entrees already and they have all been fairly good. Price: Affordable It really does give fast food vibes. The food and meals itself are super affordable. For perspective: 1) Single plate: ~$12 + tax 2) Double plate: ~$15 + tax 3) Triple plate: ~$17 + tax They sell plates (entrees+bases), salads, bowls, single portions, etc.). The ranges will be around $12 to $17 + tax, which appears to be fairly priced for what we get. The portions are nice too and would be a nice place for a quick and simple meal. Service: Limited, but always sweet interactions There are 3 kiosks in the front where you can order. They will also help you and you can order from them if you need. Our interactions have always been limited because we just order and then get our foods, but they have been really sweet to us when we get the foods. They will also come around and occasionally check on us, which is really nice. I've been here twice now and I haven't had an issue yet. I see their interactions with other customers as well and this seems to be them at baseline. Ambiance: Casual Dining This place isn't your average fast food place, but it is more casual of a dining experience. We order first, get our foods, grab the water and utensils on the side and then go sit down and eat. If you want a simple dining spot or just a quick meal to-go, this could be a good option for you. Location/Parking: Large Space The plaza itself is fairly large. There's a TJ Maxx in this plaza and other food places, shops, restaurants, etc. I can't see parking being an issue given the size of this area. We've been able to get a spot near the restaurant too for each of the times we've been here, so doesn't seem to be a concern. read more

Skip Panda Express and go here instead. For just a dollar more you're getting food with way higher quality and way better flavors. I'm in love with this Burmese takeout concept, it's so unique for the area. Burmese food is usually on the pricier side, but here you get all the good flavors for a genuinely fair price. The place was really clean and the food looked Panda Express level fresh. If you've noticed the difference between panda and a smaller takeout spot in a grocery store, you know exactly what I mean. Everything looked freshly made and every dish's flavor was on point. You can tell they're doing small, frequent batches so customers always get the freshest food. The sesame chicken was so crispy and the flavor was on point. I eat Burmese food pretty often and the flavors here hold up. The basil dried chili beef was soooo juicy and tender. Quick note since I've had people ask me this at other Burmese spots too: "dried chili" refers to the chili used, not the texture of the beef. This wasn't jerky-like at all. It had so much depth and the basil comes through really well. I also got the mint jalapeno chicken, tender and juicy too. Both were delicious, but I couldn't stop thinking about this one in particular. The flavor was unlike a lot of chicken stir fries I've had. All of it was better than a lot of the sit down Burmese restaurants I've been to. My main negative feedback is the noodles. The side I got had the texture of Italian linguine rather than the chewy wheat egg noodle you'd expect at a Burmese spot. It was off putting and way too soft for a stir fry. I'm just getting rice instead next time. Service was so friendly. This is something I know I'll be craving again. Half my family lives in the South Bay so I'm definitely telling them all about it. Visited Tleaf Green for the first time and left impressed! This new Burmese spot in Almaden Plaza is clean, spacious, and has a welcoming ambiance with plenty of seating. We started with the tea leaf salad, and I definitely recommend having them mix it for you cuz it brought all the flavors together perfectly. My husband ordered the triple plate with Burmese noodles, beef basil, eggplant with tofu, and fried chicken, which was a great way to sample several dishes. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. Drinks are self-serve, the restroom was spotless with cute wall décor. We enjoyed the World Cup Finals showing on their widescreen TV while eating lunch. This was a great first visit, and I'm already looking forward to coming back to try more of the menu. Burmese food is like a blend of Thai and Chinese food! So if you're craving that with a little bit of a difference, you're in luck here! I liked the Burmese milk tea a lot! The mango lassi is a thinner here than the Indian kind, so keep that in mind! Maybe a little less sweet than Indian mango lassi as well but still good. I also had the lemonade and it was fundementally good, but I don't like lemonade so it was eh for me. The noodles are like chow mein but softer and more tangy! I really enjoyed it. I had food poisoning here. I had the tealeaf salad, honey walnut shrimp and samosa. I was so nauseous, dizzy and started vomiting throughout the night. The next day i called to speak with the manager just to let them know that maybe they should throw the batch of shrimp away because that's what the majority of food I was projecting. The guy said they'll call me back but never did. I was not going to ask for my money back or complain. I just wanted to let them know for future costumers safety. My friend had a different kind of shrimp and she was ok. The workers were very pleasant and friendly. Besides the food poisoning, the food was ok, the flavor was lacking. Since I didnt get a call back, I hope this review reaches the manager so they can fully inspect their food. read more

I came here around the time of their grand opening and i'm so excited that I tried this place! The food style feels like Panda Express where you can choose your entree + sides but there are way more options and the food feels a lot healthier. The service is quick so you can stop by if you don't have much time to pick up food too. There's plenty of seating inside as well and it is really clean. My favorite dish was the lychee salad. It is not something i would've ordered based on the name but my friend that came with me really wanted to try it. And surprisingly it is REALLY GOOD. I would come back just for that salad again. Of course you can't go wrong with the tea leaf salad. Definitely come here when you want a quick and healthy meal. read more

Had a great time trying TleafGreen which is kind of like a Burmese style Panda Express. We ended up ordering on Uber Eats and picking up the food. The ambiance here is very nice and thankfully the order was ready when we got there. For the food we tried: * Sesame chicken - this is crispy pieces of chicken that was on the sweeter side. We got a BOGO deal on this one which was very nice * 3 food plate - we got this 1/2 with pineapple fried rice and 1/2 Burmese noodles. The noodles were really yummy and flavorful while the fried rice was quite lackluster. For our sides we got the mint jalapeño chicken (so delicious and flavorful), black pepper chicken (tender and yummy) & Burmese fried chicken (sweet, crispy & came with chunks of pineapple)! Overall the food was great and the portions were very nice. Would definitely recommend to give this place a shot. read more
Haven't tried Burmese food before? You're in luck because they offer samples! Head past the kiosks and sample a few items before placing your order. I sampled the sesame chicken, fried chicken, basil beef, Burmese shrimp and a few others. Ultimately I landed on ordering the "triple plate" with half Burmese noodle and half pineapple fried rice. The kiosk is great and gives you option to choose two carbs! For the proteins I ordered sesame chicken, Burmese chicken. I opted for the triple plate because I also wanted a side of veggies (they call it super broccoli carrot) . We also ordered the tea leaf salad. The salad is fresh and crisp which really complimented our meal. It was a great way of cutting through other flavors. The food overall was flavorful without being overly salty. The Burmese shrimp was snappy and the sesame chicken was very well sauced without getting soggy. Once your order is ready, they call out your order number. I love Burmese food and i especially love this place. It's a bit of a distance from me but definitely worth a trip. We met up with friends who live the opposite direction so this was a nice middle of the road meet up and they were so happy to have tried this place! I've been here before and what's nice is that they let you taste any of the dishes they have out - it's like cafeteria style building out what you want. You order at the kiosk but you can wander over to where they have the dishes and try anything. We decided to get the double plate with their garlic noodles as the base and then added the sesame chicken (my choice) and the mango chicken (hubby choice). We also got the Burmese Chicken Salad which was super tasty - BUT I didn't enjoy it as much because I noted on my order that I didn't want them to toss it but they did. SO unfortunately for me - the salad was WAY over dressed for me. Which is why I like to toss my own. But because we were with friends I didn't make a fuss but I didn't enjoy it very much. They should just ask if you want dressing on the side vs if you want them to toss it for you. The sesame chicken and noodles were delicious and on point. They give you so much that we definitely had leftovers for another meal the next day. AND we also ordered the Palata (forgot to take a pic). It was delicious. Think a heavy crepe or a thin pancake with condensed milk topping - it was VERY GOOD - a great way to end our meal. The service was friendly - it's self serve for getting your utensils, straws, napkins, drinks... I don't usually update a review so soon, but I have to say that Tleaf Green is really bringing me up to a full four-star review! They took down the "soft opening" sign and are really in business. Problems I noticed when I first went (inconsistent temperatures of the items I ordered) have been fixed. Everything came out at the same temperature. I was also really pleased that they added a veggie side option to their two-item combo. I have been back a few times, trying different dishes, and really enjoyed everything I tried. The spicier options are just spicy enough. My partner has loved the salads he has tried. They added an option to add tofu to salads, so you can add extra vegan protein if you choose! They make it easy to enjoy a quick, healthy meal. read more

I've been meaning to write a review for this new spot in the Almaden Plaza and near Blossom Hill Rd. Fun fact: the owners own Burma Bay Cafe in Fremont in case you have been there. A few weeks ago, I attended their grand opening celebration and had the chance to try several of their delicious dishes. I also received a cute tote bag and a rose, which was a nice touch. The food was fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. Their tea leaf salad is massive, and they don't skimp on the tea leaf dressing. I'm especially a fan of the beef with string beans and the walnut shrimp. I've already gone back a few times and still have more menu items I want to try. One thing I noticed during the grand opening was that there were no signs labeling the food items. I suggested to a few staff members that signs would be helpful so they wouldn't have to keep repeating the same information to guests. When I returned on my second visit, I noticed signs had been added, so it seems my suggestion may have been passed along. If you're thinking about what to drink, I would suggest their Burmese Milk Tea. Can't wait to go back again. read more

Ordered dinner via DoorDash on a Saturday evening. A friend highly recommended this restaurant, so I was eager to try it. I ordered the Burmese Chicken Salad and was not disappointed. The chicken had a nice flavor and there was a ton of it! The veggies were fresh and plentiful. My one tiny complaint is the dressing was too spicy, but I mitigated that by dipping each bite in to just a little bit of it. Looking forward to trying their other dishes. read more

Burmese cuisine is my favorite ethnic cuisine and in fact, it was Burmese cuisine that got me started on Yelp. For my 1000th review, I want to say, I love TleafGreen and cannot wait to keep coming back for more and more. I first saw the coming soon sign many weeks ago and have been waiting eagerly for it. Once I found out it opened, I drove straight there and my jaw dropped when I walked in. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful and the colors just pop and feel comfortable in there. Trust me, eat inside and you'll feel it too. TleafGreen is trying to be like the Panda Express of Burmese cuisine but better, fresher and more flavor. I went all out on my 1st visit and ordered pineapple fried rice with Burmese shrimp, mango chicken, platha, noodle salad and Burmese milk tea. Everything had so much flavor and definitely is a good break from eating normal salads and sandwiches during the week. The dressing for the noodle salad is quite spicy so, I'll ask for a non-spicy dressing next time. It reminds me of a simpler rainbow salad which is a signature salad at several Bay Area Burmese restaurants. In fact, the owners also own Burma Bay Cafe in Fremont and Burma Burma in Dublin. They also plan to open another TleafGreen location in Mountain View later on. When it comes to Burmese cuisine, they have it locked down already. The Burmese shrimp and mango chicken gave me that same feeling when I first tried Burmese food over 20 years ago. It was heavenly and because of Burmese cuisine, I joined Yelp just to write reviews about Burmese food and my favorite spots. The ordering process is quite easy, as you can order on the kiosk tablets or online and I think you can order by pointing as well. The Burmese milk tea is good but it is strong. The pricing is so good and I cannot wait to take many people here to try it out. I can already feel that they will become a hot place and possibly go national one day. Tleaf Green is where it's at! Operating as a fast casual restaurant, I love that you can get a tasty and healthy meal quickly or enjoy it at their restaurant. Upon entry, you are greeted by 4 kiosks and a counter with a large menu of salads, hot bar food items, sides, drinks, and a dessert. You can see the counter with their food options and ask for samples if you truly are unsure of what to get. The interior is also so clean and you can tell a lot of thought went into creating the space. The prices are very fair for what they offer and for the portions! Everything I've had so far tastes so fresh. I've ordered the Burmese chicken salad, which was delicious. I loved the dressing there and the yellow bean powder was so interesting although it's not my favorite, personally. I really like their double plate option (or any of their hot plates) since you can choose 2 bases including their fried rice and noodles!! I loved the mint jalapeño chicken and the Burmese fried chicken options- they taste familiar but different enough and both paired so well with both the noodles and rice. I also tried the Tea leaf salad, which was a standout. Everything in the salad pairs so well, I wonder if their tea leaf dressing is made in house? It didn't taste too oily and the flavors marry together so well! They also had jalapeño pieces inside but were careful to remove the seeds so it didn't overpower the salad. I also had the chicken kebat and enjoyed it as well (curry like flavor with tomato and mint). I ordered this as a small side and it was a great price for the amount! Most, if not all, of their utensils and serving ware are also compostable so kudos for being environmentally conscious- we love an intentional business! I'm looking forward to trying more of their salads and hot plate items, as well as their drinks and the shwe gyi (Burmese sponge cake)! Clean interiors,brand new and a sterile environment. Place looks nice and I guess would be good for non vegetarians. I was disappointed as a veg eater. Ordered a single plate with fried rice and kabocha tofu-it was seriously lacking in tofu tho. The wait was extremely long when it was more or less empty coz the person preparing the orders didnt hear the cashier calling out the order to him:). Today is TleafGreen's soft opening. I have been looking forward to coming here as they were getting ready to open their business. They are located in the Almaden Plaza next to Boudin SF. The spot they are in used to be Blaze Pizza. Their website states that they offer Burmese-inspired bowls made with fresh produce and house-made dressings--ready for dine-in, pickup, delivery, and catering. I decided to have lunch here today. Upon entering the restaurant I was warmly greeted. Since it's there first day, they were running a bit late. An employee told me they would be ready at 11:30am. She let me take pictures of their menu and of the inside. It's really lovely and bright inside. I loved what they did with the inside remodeling. When I returned at 11:30am, I was helped by an employee named Song. She was polite and excited for their soft opening. She explained how to order from the kiosks at the front and then you go to the counter and watch them build it. You can also customize you order at that point. I ordered the Burmese chicken salad for dine in and I ordered the golden mango salad to take home. Also ordered a build your on single plate. I chose Burmese noodles, pineapple fried rice and Burmese shrimp and two samosas. The Burmese chicken salad was so flavorful with their house made dressing. The combination of all the ingredients were so delicious. The dressing has a little quick of heat, which I loved. The Burmese shrimp was my favorite. The sauce on the shrimp is savory and goes perfectly with the Burmese noodles. The pineapple fried rice was also very good. Everything was so fresh. The samosas were also delicious. Perfectly crispy and the filling was so good. I also liked the dipping sauce it came with. The portion sizes are good. They are generous with their proteins. All the ingredients were fresh. They freshly chop all of their produce and cook the other items freshly daily. They also offer Halal, gluten free and vegan bowls/salads and dishes. I spoke with the manager, Brad. He is really friendly. I wish him and the owners all the success with their restaurant. It's so nice to have this new restaurant in Almaden plaza. Salads are great and bowls are definitely not the same as Panda Express with what they have to offer! TLeafGreen recently replaced the sadly closed down Blaze Pizza here and is a new competitor to Panda Express with a Burmese twist. Even though this was at the time of the explosive diarrhea rumoring around (can't believe those words are coming out of my mouth), I accidentally ordered a salad here and was pleasantly surprised at how good, not getting sick, and amazed at the portion size at this place! The bowl alone could easily be split with 2 people and the portion of meats, sides, and salad was evenly distributed & didn't feel short. Interior of the place was very clean and although it was slightly empty at the time because people fearing salad or off hour, the place was well kept. I've been here another time already and ordered 2 plates with a variety of chicken and beef with their Burmese noodles and Pineapple Fried rice, and they were all really good! Nothing close to what Panda Express serves and totally different & good flavors to choose from. Although I wish this place has more visitors at the moment, I was satisfied with my visit here and I'll definitely be back here for more quick meals here.
