Take is amazing and I could not recommend him more for hair bleaching/color/ombré/balayage. I naturally have very dark brown hair and was scared to lighten my hair but I trusted him. I showed him a picture of what I wanted and he gave great advice on the lightening (to not damage my hair too much). He made my hair look almost exactly as I had shown him in the picture -- but even better! I absolutely love the result and definitely see myself going back in the future. My hair is actually healthier than I thought it would be after all of the bleaching and the color is beautiful. I'm very happy about my hair and cannot wait to go back in the future! Take does incredibly high-quality work, very efficiently, and at a great fair price. Highly recommend!

I'm picky on choosing my hairstylist. This is so far the best hair stylist I've met. Mr. Take san is such a cute and sweet guy. Before he starts the haircut, he would first give you some Japanese and America hair style books to look and you can choose the style you would like to be cut. Then he will start washing your hair and having haircut for you. In between, he would also put different kind of serums and leave on conditoners to protect your hair. This is the most part I love because for me a hair stylist should also show a caring of your hair health in addition to the hairstyle. Take san is the best!!! For those who are looking for having an Asian haircut or truly care about both your hair style and condition, he is the person to go! **He's the only Asian hair stylist in the whole building**

So I've been coming to Take since he used to be in South Pasadena...meaning I followed him from there to Arcadia location, and now back to Pasadena. It's really hard to find good stylist who knows what you like and stay consistent. He's been great all these years, and will continue to come back! This new location is really nice to be honest - I guess they rent private rooms to private stylists, comfy & luxurious feeling. Ample street parking is available, but I think they also validate for parking structure. Thanks again Take, for years of consistency!

It's my first time at TK studio. Excellent experience. I called on a Monday - their day off, yet Take-san responded immediately and scheduled me for the next day. TK studio is one of the independent studios inside Regency Salon. The interior is clean, comfy and most importantly, private - away from the outside noise and craziness. Take-san is a real professional. He listens attentively and offers his opinions and knowledge as well. Eventually he gave me the exact change-over that I asked for - keeping the roots my natural hair color so I don't need to do touch up every so often, a smooth transition to dark brown as a base color, and a purple highlights on my existing bleached hair. This is so far the best hair salon experience I had. Not only because of the service, the environment, but also for the reasonable price you pay. Take-san is a man of great manner and skill. He will become my go-to hair stylist from now. If you're looking for a more private hair salon experience, I recommend Take-san and his studio.

I have been Take's client since 2014 and he is definitely my favorite hair stylist in Los Angeles! Ever since I got my hair done from the old location of KC Pasadena Salon with Take, I just follow him from spots to spots. TK is Pasadena's best kept secret! Not only is he the nicest person, but he also super talented. I had my hair cut and colored by Take-san and loved the way it turned out. His prices are very reasonable and the color doesn't take all day. I have naturally dark hair, but I was still done in under 2 hours. The salon is inside Regency and there is plenty of parking. HIGHLY RECOMMEND ^_^

I'm so so so glad I found TK Hair Studio! I moved from NYC earlier this year and of course needed to find new professionals for everything. I came here for a cut in August after much research (~40 hair salons Yelp & Google reviews) because I desperately needed my hair thinned out and trimmed. I've been scarred with how people can mess it up by overthinning my hair so I made sure to look at tons of photos and read reviews of places. Asian hair can be difficult to cut so I'm really picky. He is meticulous and very detailed when he was thinning my hair and trimmed it well, not too blunt or shaggy at the bottom. I am extremely particular with my hair, but I was really happy with it! I also give it a couple washes to see how I feel about it before deciding whether I'd go back or not. I'd definitely return! Also, my hairstylist in NYC who colored my hair when I visited last month said it was cut well too. If you don't believe me, believe in other hair professionals who know their stuff! Pay in cash & get a discount, tip well! There's also a punch card for returning clients which is nice. I live out in West LA but was thinking about how I probably need a cut soon and need to drive out here to come to TK! There is parking validation for the parking structure to the left right after you pass the location. Once you get to the location, you dial his suite number on the keypad to the right by looking up TK Hair Studio to get buzzed in. Lastly, there are restrooms, and there is a machine at the front to validate parking. These are individual salon suites, everything is very clean. Waited for so long I finally find a perfect place to cut my hair short!!!!!! I love my hair cut so much. Take is so professional and nice. The hair cut was fast but really good with little details. For color, he really takes time to help me to get the color I wanted while protect my hair( less damage). I know there are a lots of hair stylists will only get the color they want without caring about the customer's hair, but Take did really good job. Thank you again!!! read more

I can't sing enough praise to Take! He is the best in town, especially if you are Asian, he really knows how to deal with the special hair texture we have. I recommend you always bring some pictures for reference. Take san can make great modifications that fit your face shape and hair texture. His price is also very reasonable, and he never tries to upsell. I have had my hair cut in high end salons in Tokyo many times, and I can say Take san is even better than those posh Tokyo stylists. 10 stars :)) read more

Great for Asian hair! I have a lot of curly-ish Asian hair and Takashi did a wonderful job balancing out my layers since my previous hairstylist didn't know what she was doing. He is super swift and has a loyalty system for returning customers. Also there's a small discount if you pay in Venmo or cash. read more

I have thick Asian hair and I have a lot of it. Take knew how to thin it down and cut layers to create a nice shape. I enjoyed both the process of the cut (gentle, friendly, efficient) as well as the results, so I will be back. Also, this is the least itchy I've been after a haircut, which speaks to Take's top notch technique. read more

Take is really talented and very sweet! He was gracious and responsive when scheduling, so I showed up and then he went to town on my hair and worked a miracle! I had the worst split ends in the world, and not only did he freshen my whole 'do up, but he also did a beautiful loose beach wave look! Take's studio is clean, quiet, and best of all decorated with cute, hip antique wall decor and soothing dark wood. I would totally recommend going to Take for your next haircut! I've been going to Take for years now, starting from when he was still working at KC Salon in Little Tokyo then when he moved to KC Pasadena then KC Arcadia, and now to Pasadena with his own studio. He's meticulous and great at what he does, which is why I keep coming back to him for my hair. Often times I come in without thinking of any particular style so I would just look at magazines or ask him for advice and the result would come out great! Mind you, my hair is super thick so it's sometimes hard to find a haircut that works (it needs a lot of thinning down/layers underneath). My sister goes to him, too, for her hair and I've recommended him to my other friends as well. His new studio is quite chic, clean and in a nice place with other beauty studios so you can hop from one place to another for your hair, brows, lashes, facial, nails, etc. There's parking (entrance on Hudson St) for the salon with 2 hours free with validation. Validation is easy - just use their machine by the door and you're good to go. read more

This is my first time here but I've had Take cut my hair numerous times. He is a great stylist and quick with his skills. He gives great recommendations and how to style your hair as well! #SKILLS My mom wanted a hair perm. So... for her birthday, that's what I wanted to give her. I found Take on Yelp and based on his reviews and location, made an appointment for my mom. I requested an appointment on yelp at 10pm thinking he will respond by next day... TAKE (salon owner) RESPONDED WITHIN 30 minutes! I was super impressed. The salon is very clean, not a single hair or mess. Take was very polite and went straight to work on my moms hair. He found out exactly what my mom wanted and made sure she was happy and comfortable with what they will do. The results of her perm were exactly what my mom wanted. Second time getting my hair done with Take! I almost always have to get my hair bleached so you really have to trust your stylist to not do more damage than what's already been done. He always explains everything in detail and everything is step by step. Really helpful and I always have a pleasant time. He'll work with you on what ever you may want to do! I hadn't done anything to my hair in about 2 plus years and let my gray roots come in. My hubby is…read moreretiring soon (he's my silver haired fox) so I decided to finally embrace my gray, too. The hair that Adriana had to deal with was "virgin" hair untouched by processing but very fine. I don't know anything about balayage (and that it works from the tips to the root, not vice-versa) so she helpfully showed me a few pics of gray highlighting and we were set to go. I love the ambience there; very chillax. This happened right between Thanksgiving and Christmas and you get burnt out on all the bouncy music everywhere you go. Luckily, I picked a very quiet establishment with just soft jazzy versions of the holiday stuff. The many live plants as decor really adds to the spa vibe. Make sure you keep your voices low so as not to disturb other patrons, many of whom are fellow Asians like me. I read on their website about the "Head Spa" that they do, which is kind of a 20/40/60 minute facial but for your scalp. Those chairs are so comfy you will, if you're not careful, fall asleep. Every major service (cut and highlights for me) will include a scalp massage. They block out the overhead lights and you feel like you're floating lying down. I might come back regularly for this alone. I recommend this place for people who have stress headaches. They say they use pure jojoba and help exfoliate your scalp. The total for a long hair cut was $94 and the cost of highlights was $325. You put down $100 deposit with your credit card when you make the appointment and they don't cash it until your service is complete. Make sure you're on time or early (I suggest at least 15 mins) or you will be charged 100% penalty. Parking is limited to behind Lake Ave in "Shoppers Lane." If they run out of spots you can also park at the Trader Joe's (west side of Lake) and just buy something there so you can get validated. It was pricey but well worth it. My stylist advised that I come in every few months for toner rinse to keep the highlights bright since the gray will just come in naturally after that. Don't be afraid to do it! Ask for Adriana.

She was very kind but I don't think she asked enough questions throughout the process to know what I wanted. I know it's hard to get 100% exactly what you want unless the stylist can read your mind so I really don't mind it looking a little different. But, the photo I took as soon as I got in the car shows how she sent my bangs out the door... which... I have textured hair but I look like I got smacked by a tornado It was $120 for this :( I drove out from west LA because I really trusted this salon but I think... it's time to find a different one or try Reyka again :(
