Out of all the discount retailers TJ Maxx is my favorite that in HomeGoods. Second to that would be Marshalls and at the bottom would be Ross. This is the first TJ Maxx. I walked into that reminded me of Ross. Don't get me wrong. The store was incredibly cleaned the employees very nice. However, the quality of the products they sold are pretty sub. Usually TJ Maxx is a smattering of nicer end clothes and then those license brands that fill the shelves. This store had the cheapest selection of clothing I've ever seen. In fact I'm a little bit of an overachiever in the shopping department and I've never left a TJ Maxx without buying a shirt or something else I was able to walk out of this store Sans any purchases Not sure what's up with this store, but they don't carry or don't appear to carry the normal collection of clothing items that most of the other TJ Maxx is manages. I definitely gravitate towards this TJ Maxx over the other ones in the area. The sales floor is typically pretty clean, and decently staffed. They have a good variety of items out and more regularly being stocked. One major complaint though would be the bathrooms, typically they are not cleaned very well. read more

Nothing irritates me and all the others in line waiting to be checked out than to have a checker fart around with socks behind the counter fiddling around with putting them in a little plastic container and then keep her head down (with pigtails) Saturday night Nov 15, 2025 around 6pm and then walking off really slowly while leaving her light on to go fiddle around with a shelf while 16 people waited in line! Visiting family in Colfax & Roseville my sister and I stopped in to this shopping center that has really been built up since my last visit. This is a spectacular TJ MAXX. Firstly it is brand newish! They certainly don't look like this where I live! Clean well lit store that rivals higher end stores for sure... 4/4/2019: I've been searching for more industrial-designed, burnished steel storage for my bathroom via the Internet and physically shopping at all household retailers throughout Sacramento, Placer, El Dorado, Alameda, Napa, Solano, San Francisco, Contra Costa, Santa Clara Counties scouring EVERYWHERE the items I need! Nada, zippo, zilch, nyet, and NO~Waaaah! I searched all the retailers and all I could find was the three-tiered shelving on wheels I bought at TJ Maxx-WOT? Why aren't there furniture designers creating home furnishings with my designs I have in my head? Surely, there must be a furniture designer who designs stuff nobody creates, right? I'm still searching for two stainless steel side tables with two drawers for storage on caster wheels installed at the bottom of each leg support. WAAAAAH~I guess I must design my own furniture?! The store is clean, and well laid out, however it is impossible to get sales help on the sales floor! For example, they have signs everywhere in the purse department to "push the red button" for help. Alas - NO RED BUTTONS anywhere! I hunted around a while for these buttons, and then I finally went to the other side of the store and asked for help. A salesperson finally appeared in purses and I asked her about these missing "red buttons". She also was frazzled, as she could not find them herself! She then removed several of the signs (since they led one to NOWHERE) and she helped me with a purse I liked. (Unlatched it and put it at the front desk). Then I found some items in the jewelry department that I wanted to see. Argh! Again, no salesperson in or near the jewelry department. I waited a while, but still no one appeared. I then went over and waited in the (then) empty fitting room area. Finally an employee appeared in the fitting room area. I asked her for help in jewelry. She picked up the phone and made a call. About five minutes later an employee appeared in jewelry and she promptly started helping someone ELSE, who started waiting long after I had! Ugh! Please, TJ Maxx, have your salespeople ask "Who's next?!" The store seems so nice, but the General Manager needs to GET ON THEIR GAME with Customer Servíce! Good grief! This store is located in the Walmart shopping center across from Studio Movie Grill. It is quite large with their Home Goods store opening up right next to it with a sign "coming soon". I walk in and within 5 mins I am greeted and asked if I need help. By the time my short 20 min visit was over, I was approached by 2 different employees to help me. Now for those of you who don't know, this is a discount retail store and customer service like this is not the norm mostly because that is where they find the savings for you by not having to staff so much. However I have noticed this moreso in the recent years and wonder if they decided to go this route instead of hiring undercover loss prevention? or security up front like ROSS does. Anyway, being brand new, the store is beautiful and wide open. It is a wide rectangle. Racks are filled a little light but imagine that will change over time. The fitting room from the outside is very nice for men on the left and women on the right. Selection and prices are always good here. I really love the health and beauty section. I didn't have time to shop more than 20 mins but I will be back. I worked for TJ Maxx from 1993 to 2003. With that said, I might be a little biased so they will always have a special place in my heart :) read more

Do not shop at this store! They are not following OSHA or CDC guidelines. They are allowing customers to return products, and they are putting them back on the shelves without properly cleaning them. My boyfriend bought this for me as a Christmas gift, and when I opened it on Christmas morning to our surprise we had found that it had already been used. Not only has it been used by one person but there appears to be blonde and black hair. Both of us do not have the matching hair colors for that, and this is absolutely disgusting. Which also implies that they are allowing people to return other products without sanitizing them before reselling them to the public. We are going today to return it. I would be extremely cautious when shopping at the store, because if they allow other human hair to be left in a product. The possibilities are endless of what other things they are allowing to stay on their products have been returned. I'm really hoping that nobody gets Covid from the store considering they do not seem to be following the guidelines. Never in my life have I had this disgusting of a gift, my boyfriend felt absolutely horrible. However it was not his fault considering we weren't able to open it until Christmas morning. I hope the manager of this location takes a real strong look at this picture, and checks in with their staff to make sure that the OSHA and CDC guidelines are being followed. I will be contacting corporate about this incident, I already spoke to the manager who assured me that all their returns are isolated for 72 hours before being put back on the shelves. However despite whether it was put in isolation for 72 hours that doesn't really make a difference when you're allowing other peoples DNA such as hair to be left on other products. Imagine the fear in my families eyes on Christmas morning as I am opening this gift when they realized that it already been used and that was definitely not my hair. I have multiple members in my family who are very high risk of getting COVID-19. And after opening my gift they also realized that that means that all other products from TJ Maxx most likely are not sanitized. This is a very dangerous incident, and I hope that it happens to nobody else. I advise everybody who buys products from the store to triple check before you leave the store with that item. Even if it is boxed you can buy it and open it in the parking lot and then return it. read more

Profiled at the Rocklin store in California. Today my full shopping cart was taken from me twice while shopping at the rocklin store. When I tried to find my cart, the associate who took my cart, Selena or Selma I believe, pretended not to know what I was talking about. The second time was at jewelry. I placed my cart right behind me after it was taken the first time. After ten minutes of waiting to see one pair of earrings, I turn around and my cart is gone. I had to hunt it down again and the front coordinator, Shawn or Shawnee (older woman with brown hair) had it. I tried to call the store and talk to Shawn (whatever her name is) but she hung up on me. I worked at TJ Maxx when I was in college. I know all of the signs of a D14: shopping without paying attention to sizes or prices, small groups breaking up, empty bags that fill up, stroller no baby, etc. I exhibited none of those behaviors that would make me suspicious towards staff. Therefore, I can only assume I was profiled. This happened to me last week at the Marconi store while trying to return a blouse. This treatment is becoming reoccurring. Terrible discriminatory customer service. I spend a lot of money at TJ Maxx and Home Goods, but I will not continue when I am treated like garbage. I always try to be so kind to staff as I know how shitty people can be. It's extra infuriating given how much I try to be a low maintenance shopper. read more

This tjmaxx is very beautiful they have a lot of items to choose from they have baby stuff pet stuff make up plus size clothes wallets and purses and they have name brand wallets like Jessica Simpson they have a really cute home selection here to they already have Halloween items in stock lol we are still in summer wait until after September they have a lot of cute house hold items they Evan have a clearance area that has frames pictures and much more they have dog treats and dog harness and leashes and puppy bags I highly recommend this location to anyone who loves a great deal they have lots of affordable items I will definitely be coming back here very soon very clean atmosphere very clean establishment very friendly and helpful staff very clean store very great deals you can't ask for more read more

DRESSING ROOMS CLOSED: 30 mins of shopping and carefully selecting items to try on only to find out...you can't. There are a half dozen signs on the door telling us what we can and can't do, but no warning that the dressing rooms are closed. If you want horrible customer service and snide remarks this is the place for you. I show up in the check out line to two women with their backs turned to their registers and paying no mind to the fact that someone might want to check out. So rather than wait for them to notice me I go to an open register. Two minutes later Gail turns around to help check out. NO "hello" or " how's your day?" First words out of her mouth to me are "you can't do that yet" because I had my credit card out waiting to put it in the chip reader. No shit, Sherlock. I wasn't born yesterday and I'm sorry I was prepared to pay while I waited for your geriatric ass to figure out how to log into your register. I keep quiet even though I was annoyed with the poor service and her comment to me JUST before she hands me my bag is "well you're about the brightest customer I've ever had" I said "what?" And she just looked back at me. TJ Maxx, I wasn't aware it was the customers job to BRIGHTEN the day of your employees. The only positive employee in the building was back in the dressing room. Maybe you should switch her with your employee GAIL because Gail could use a little time in b*tch work therapy doing go backs. I waited so long for this tjmaxx to open only to be disappointed with the customer service!! I'm a regular at the Douglas location and needed to make a return so I decided to check this one out since it's brand new! The entrance is huge and the layout of the store is so cute as well. The stock is good!! They are fully stocked with different items as any other tjmaxx but they lack a few areas in which I'm hoping the homegoods next door will fulfill when it opens. I'm content with the stock and whatnot and that's my two stars for this review. The service on the other hand is a wreck. I'm not sure if all employees are completely new and they were all trained to scope out the thieves or assume everyone is a thief but this is absurd. I walked in with my return item in a bag and the minute i walked in an associate greeted me and she was on my tail around the store for half my visit. But it wasn't just her, it was every associate i ran into on the floor. Their eyes were attacking me more than their "are you finding everything okay" tone. I was so uncomfortable I wanted to leave but then I figured I would buy an item and actually call corporate about it instead. This is ridiculous! It wasn't just me though. When I came to the register, the ladies behind the counter were stereotyping a man who had just come in to shop. This is absurd I tell you!!! Gail was it?? SHE WAS EYING HIM DOWN WITH HER EYES!! and I wasn't the only one who noticed it, the customer behind me was giggling as if it was a joke? This was just validation that I wasn't crazy for thinking the associates were eying me down. They're eying anyone who can be a suspect down!! The customer service they give to their SHOPPERS is NOT okay. Scope out your thieves in a professional manner. You do not need to automatically assume that a young person walking in with a bag is going to do your store bad or someone wearing baggy pants and a cap. The selection is awful and very disorganized, but that's nothing compared to the customer service. We didn't feel welcome there, and the general atmosphere of the store felt chaotic. Also, when I was in the dressing room trying on some clothes, the transwoman who attends it was barely polite even though I tried chatting with her, and it made me uncomfortable that she was allowed to walk around where women were changing. Also, she was rude to my mom just because she called her, "Sir." My mom is in her eighties, this individual presented as a man despite the flowered sweater and long hair (she had male voice and five o'clock shadow at one PM), and it's on her to be polite to guests. Snapping, "I'm not a 'sir,'" at an eighty-two year old woman for engaging in routine courtesy is not providing good customer service. This has nothing to do with transphobia. We're talking about a woman in her eighties, and there's just no excuse for that person's conduct. Will not be shopping there again. read more

Well...I decided to check this store out because I really like the one on Douglas...Surprisingly one review I read on Yelp discusses how one of the cashiers was rude. I wasn't even thinking about it, but I went to return some pillows. To my surprise, my receipt wasn't in the bag. The cashier kind of made a big deal out of this, almost as if I was trying to pull something over on her. She asked for my driver's license (and asked me if that was really me in the picture). I felt that she was being a bit rude about my return, kind of questioning me and I said 'I'm not the kind of person who is going to do anything sketchy' and she apologized. I really like this TJ Maxx. It has a lot of great merchandise that other stores do not and it is typically clean and well organized. The young ladies that make the displays do a wonderful job. There is not as much selection for men here though and it is mainly catering to women (great purses, home goods, makeup, fragrances, shoes...) so I have to shop for things for the guys in my life elsewhere. The clearance items are good and the holiday merchandise (every holiday!) selection is vast. The only problem is that customers do not follow the rules , like you can't open fragrances or use the items etc., and the employees let them return them minutes after buying them. So they take it to their car, open the sealed packaging use it and if they don't like the scent return it. Corporate should tally returns so there is not abuse here. Was and still am a fan of this store. Sort of now. But beware when paying for your items at the register on the way out. Was dangled 10% off if I applied for a credit card and I declined. Three times I declined and then just gave in on the fourth time around. I'll cut up the credit card when it comes in the mail. But still felt a little badgered about the whole deal. Why is there hardly any men's clothes? I really could do a lot of other buying there if I had more men's clothes to shop for.

I am glad to have another TJ Maxx in the area. If the Douglas Blvd. TJ Maxx doesn't have things in my size or the color I want for clothes, pajamas shoes or purses, this location will have other options. The inventory is similar to the other locations, but sometimes they have more inventory at this location. Many of the purses are all looped together with cords attached to alarms so the purses are messy and twisted because the alarm cords are so tight. It makes it hard to find purses. I have bought many purses, beach totes, and work bags here that are name brands I find cheaper here than full price at Macys or Nordstrom. They have nice gift bags for all occasions here. They have so many kitchen supplies here. read more

This low rating is for the manager Julie. As I was standing in line to pay, she approached two employees who were helping out a customer at the register. As she walks up to them she yelled "YOU'RE STILL ON THE SAME TRANSACTION?!?!" The two employees fell silent. It was awkard. You could see in their faces they felt embarrassed. My dear Julie, as a manager if you have an issue with how your employees are performing, you pull them to the side or take them to the back and discuss that with him in private not in front of all the customers. Nice location. Jewelry selection was pretty good on the day I went in. The only issue I had was with the cashier. There was only one and it was a weekend. They totally needed more registers open. The cashier was VERY slow and chatted way longer than necessary with each customer. Everyone in line was shifting their feet and sighing. When it was my turn she tried chatting with me and I just tried to keep it short and sweet as I wanted out of there--I was getting a migraine from waiting so long. I went into the Rocklin store today to return some items I purchased about a week ago. I was told by an employee that I could return the items as long as I had the receipt. Well I got to the register and the cashier named Gail told me I couldn't return the items without tags even if I had the receipt. Her tone of voice was very rude and abrupt. Instead of seeing what else they could do for me I quickly put the items back in the bag and returned only the items that had tags. Lesson learned. Always have the tags! I went to return a jacket I bought for my daughter for Christmas but didn't have the receipt or the "tag" but I did have the card I bought it on. The zipper was broken on the jacket which she found out the first day she wore it. The manager and store clerk refused to give me a refund or store credit because I didn't have their tag or receipt. Who knew their merchandise would be inferior. So I am out that money. Customer service sucks Thanks Farah.......went in to Tj Maxx to return a few items I realized I didn't need never used. I was not treated with a smile but instead talked down to with a demeaning tone, the items were insignificant in price I just simply didn't need them. I'm only providing stars here because of the merchandise. Customer service for the "member morning" was terrible from the time My friend and I first walked in. An older employee with short blonde hair (didn't catch her name) was pretty rude as my friend and I walked in. She asked if we were members and I said that I was showing my credit card as we both put our names in for a drawing they were having. She then snapped at my friend asking if she was a member and I said "no, she isn't, but your invite said members were able to bring a friend." She then Rudely stated that while my friend could shop she couldn't put her name into the drawing. Ok. We pulled her name Out of the drawing. Then the lady proceeded to push my friend to sign up for a credit card. My friend politely said no thanks, and the lady continued with her sales pitch. My friend said no at least once more and the other employee standing next to the rude employee even looked uncomfortable. No means no, plain and simple. We both felt uncomfortable even grabbing the breakfast items (1 little Debbie pastry each, and don't even get me started on how disappointing that was what they offered for "breakfast."). Then as another customer came up to put their name in for the drawing the same rude employee asked her if she was a member, then the lady said yes, and then the employee demanded rather abruptly to see her credit card. And the customer had to stop what she was doing to dig for her credit card. Just overall very unwelcoming and rude right when you walk into the store. After we left TJ Maxx we went right next door to Home Goods and received a much better reception/greeting and even a better/classier looking breakfast selection (again taking one small pastry each). My mom and I went to this store in rocklin yesterday to return something I had purchased at another TJ maxx. We love all their stores and have spent a lot of time and money there. We were looking through the makeup section and the clearance areas when all of the sudden this worker comes up and acts like we knocked the clearance items on the floor. She also decided to aggressively shake her head at us. Soon after we realized we were being followed throughout the store. The old grey haired worker was shaking her head at us several times. Wherever we were there she was. We went to the shoe area and she was there, we went to the home decor and she was there, then we went to the kids clothes area and there she was! So we finally decided to just buy what we had and returned my item so we could leave. However, while we were at the check out counter, the manager came up and asked the checker if everything was ok. (Nothing was out of the ordinary with this purchase or return). We finally walked out and were extreamly upset with this incident. So I decided to walked back in and complain to the manager....well that was no help he was not apologetic at all! So needless to say we will not be returning to this store and will be letting plenty of people know about what occurred. WORST SHOPPING EXPERIENCE! read more
