The best shop I've found in these parts that caters to the die-hard comic book collector. Excellent newsstand organization makes it easy snapping up your current issues in one pass. They also have a robust back issue section with late Bronze and Modern age comix--with a few exceptions: check out some of the rarities they have under glass. Sizeable trade and collectibles makes spending time at Titan Comics at least a half-day affair. Layaway options too for some of those cool looking figures that will make you the envy of every collector on your block (can I has Batmobile). Family run business with friendly and knowledgeable customer service. We quizzed the staff, including the owner on some back-into-collecting advice and loved his suggestions. We've come back ever since and even opened a subscription box. If you have a hard-to-find collectible, the staff will make every effort to find you. Wonderful shop. The selection is massive with shelves upon shelves upon shelves of graphic novels. The staff is knowledgeable in comics, particularly the owner Jeremy Shorr, who's an encyclopedia of comics knowledge. The store also boasts a pretty amazing rotating collection of original comic book art. Paul Pope, Dave Simm, David Petersen and dozens and dozens more decorate the walls. They also support a stunning collection of statues if you're down with 3dimensional art. Hundreds of good ones. But the real joy is the books. Artists should ask about the art book shelf. Lots of rare find sketchbook and coffee table art books on there. A great place to dive into your love if the art of comics. Family owned, the real deal. I feel good about putting my dollars here. Tons of back issues, all available on the floor for your perusal. The cabinet system they have to organize everything is ingenious. If you're going to find that "hot" back issue, I'd recommend getting there as soon as possible. This store is obviously a prime hunting ground for investors/speculators. Went to Titan for the first time today and I was so happy I did. I've been collecting since the 80's, and this place has my old comic shop hangouts beat by a mile. I thought the last comic store I went to was my favorite but now I have a new favorite! This place is a collectors dream store, not only do they have tons of comics but they have a HUGE selection of collectible figures and statues. I will definitely be coming back on a monthly basis. This store was very well organized and everything was clearly marked which made shopping a lot easier. The staff was friendly and helpful. I bought four statues and they gave me a discount. The widest selection of trades I've ever seen. They have a ton of back issues, if you're into single issues. I wandered between stores for a long time before I found Titan. I've been going there since. I've been buying my books from Titan for nearly twenty years now. Stopped into Titan Comics at their new location, hoping to capture some of that nostalgia from 15 yrs ago. Well suffice to say, it was a sad day indeed. What use to be a comic book lovers dream with a back issue stock that rivaled Koch, Mile High, St Marks or Lobe Star back I. The day has now been reduced to the Diamond Comics top 200. Huge amounts of overstock of DC and Marvel GNs that they will never sell (I mean in the age of Amazon would even try to carry GNs at this point) and so many statues I thought I was in a museum rather than a comic book shop. While I give owner Jeremy a few points for understanding that today's comic book audience has many more options than shops (Kickstarter being one), his utter reliance on being a paid shill for Diamond Comics distributors and not returning the store to being the comic book haven it once was is why the industry is in the state that it is in. The modest 15% off sale was laughable, the dearth or Diamond product was embarrassing, and I feel mostly sorry for the loss of what was at one time, one of the hallmarks of the comic collecting hobby. Well first off I lost most my major comic collection and what I did have was behind the new times with signatures and stuff. Jeremy the owner set me straight THANK GOD so now I have an account with him and I'm basically rebuilding my comic collection. I'm having certain comics sealed and graded and Jeremy is helping me keep my variant cover collection. Second and what is amazing I got in two bad car accidents and Jeremy has let me catch up on my account which is amazing. He doesn't have to do that but he's awesome. He also understands I live far away and I get off work after he closes so I try and come on Saturdays but it's hard to get into town when I drive 4 days a week and spend a lot on gas. Jeremy is awesome as is his daughter. I've spent most my life I comic book stores and got close to most owners. Most are awesome but there are shady ones out there that try and screw you over. Jeremy isn't one of those people. He's a good person and an awesome comic book store owner. I'm proud to say Titan Comics is MY comic book store. So go to those comic stores that have the same name or go to the ONE and ONLY Titan Comics and see why so many love it. read more

What a cool store! The place was well kept and I had great help trying to find what I was looking for. They had a TON of back issues so if you've got holes you need to fill in your collection, this is the store for you. Another great thing about the store is that the grading which is very conservative so you know you are probably getting a better grade than is listed. The owner told me he prefers it that way so that you're happy with what you're buying. I wish all comic book stores graded that way. The gentleman running the shop was quite excellent and they had a great selection of both new and back issues. However, I found that the pricing for a lot of the back issues were very inflated compared to other shops I have visited. Without a discount, I would recommend that people shop around for back issues before making the purchase. read more

How do I begin? The problem is, the good and the bad swing WAY out to their respective limits on the spectrum. On the one hand, this is one of the best collections of back issue comic books I have ever seen. I am a long time collector and have been many places in the country. I have to say, it's impressive. Now for the opposite pendulum swing. The service tends to be awful. I have been there and had pleasant conversations with the owner, but for the most part, I am in agreement with similar reviews. The owner (Jeremy, as I understand) has a great deal of knowledge, but he comes across as arrogant and condescending about it. As stated in other reviews, I have heard his rant on his card machine, complaints about customers to others and his tendency to camp behind the register counter. Therein lies the reason this review has three stars. Placing it right in the middle of 5 stars for selection (if not a bit on the pricey side) and 1 star for the service. It's disappointing that recognition and respect for the community of nerds is faltering in what could potentially be one of the best Comic Book Stores in the country. read more

I've been going here for a couple of years now ... and they're usually pretty good. But, the thing is - the customer service isn't that great. I've heard Jeremy (the owner) talk about how he doesn't like kids coming in after school, how he doesn't like people who "touch everythign three times, and don't buy anything", and doesn't appreciate poeple browsing for too long. As a customer, employees (especially the owner!) shouldn't be telling me that kind of thing! But, the biggest customer service issue to me is that they have one of those signs that says they require a minimum purchase to use a card. Beginning in 2010, that's legal to do for *credit* cards ... but, it's not legal to do for *debit* cards! Jeremy (the owner) has made an issue of it a couple of times, and I usually don't have a problem with it, and he's even waived it a few times. But, day before yesterday, I made a $22 purchase but forgot to get polybags. When I went to make a $1.75 purchase, he told me that I needed to meet his "minimum purchase". Needless to say, I walked out. I was frustrated and upset, because it's not like I can show him anything that will change his mind right there on the spot, and I don't understand why he'd treat a loyal customer that way, but ... still he needs to learn about credit law, and not just put up a sign because he's stingy and doesn't want to pay the 1% (and/or 10 cents) transaction fee from credit card companies, and wants his customers to have to soak up that money. Overall, good products and "subscription box" service at Titan ... but, the customer service is lacking, and Jeremy could learn a little about not pushing customers away. Titan is my favorite comic shop! I've never been in such a spacious and well organized shop. Everyone is very helpful and knowledgeable. They always have everything I'm looking for (and MORE!) plus they'll order anything you could ever possibly want, although I've never had to do that. Definitely worth the trip! read more

Sorry to say that sometimes we need to enter this establishment for things we don't want to back order at our favorite shop. The manager is rude, loud and abrasive. He refuses to leave his place behind the counter - so when a customer asked for something - would SHOUT to his employees at the back of the store to retrieve it. Heard of walkie-talkies? The employees are about 50/50, some walking around eager to help, some hiding behind counters. There was a huge lack of comic store etiquette - for example: Handing loose boards and bags to customers instead of putting them together. I witnessed a customer asking for a book that had recently gone up in price. The customer said "Oh man - I just had that in my hands at half price for $1, guess i should have gotten it". To which the manager said "Yep, Guess you should have." No help for this customer? Just rude? Okay then. Much rather shop at Keith's or Zeus or Awesome comics. read more

I hate when staff try to push things on you and suggest books you might like without being asked but here they kept there distance but we're very helpful and knowledgable when asked. Bigger than your average comic book store. I got everything I need there.

This store is what's up. They don't waste floor space with games or cards or toys, which is my complaint about a lot of funny book stores these days -- tho they do have some statues and figurines, most of the place is dedicated to an awesome selection of trades and great rows of accurately priced back issues - not just 80s and 90s dreck but good silver and bronze too! (Accurately priced is a key on those pre-80s books - a lot of places, if they do have pre-1980 back issues at all, have them priced way over guide, I guess not wanting to sell them, or only wanting to sell to rubes). Of course Titan has new comics if that's your thing. I've been in a few times and everyone has always been quite pleasant. I want to go back every day! read more

Titan is one of those stores that seems to have everything and feels like you could get lost in it. When I am in the area I stop by to see what new bits of collectibles they have-and they have lots. An immense back issues section as well as new comics. Good parking, including reserved spaces in front. With the construction on I-635 getting there can be an issue, but taking Forrest or Webb Chapel instead will save you some grey hairs. What don't I like? The layout can be confusing, new issues are all the way in the back instead of the front of the store (which is a marketing thing but still...) and the prices on back stock are a bit dear. read more

I've been to comic book stores in California, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Washington DC and Virginia and I can sat honestly that Titan Comics is the single most impressive and organized comic store I've ever seen. Beyond great organization and lay out, the staff was very friendly and accommodating without feeling pushy. I live about twenty five miles away and the drive is totally worth it. The only downside, is that everything is correctly priced so no cheap one dollar back issues here but that's okay. read more

I have been to all the comic shops in Dallas for over last 35 years. There is no comparison. Titan Comics is the beats them all hands down! Consider: - The best back issue selection in the Metroplex - bar none (unless perhaps Heritage has a good auction going on)! Can you find anything and everything? No - but I defy you to find another shop with a better stock. - The best current issue selection in the Metroplex - three or four most recent issues of each title. It boggles the mind how he does it! - The best graphic novel selection (again!) in the Metroplex - a number of the other shops will come close, but no one else seems to stock to the depth of Titan. - The best subscription service in the Metroplex - In the last 15 years with Titan, I can count the number of times I did not receive an issue of one of my titles on ONE hand! The last shop I was with could not go three months without missing an issue of something, so this particular point is VERY important to me! - The best special request service that I am aware of anywhere. Jeremy can check on anything I ask for and usually have an answer within 5 minutes - yes, he can get it and when, or sorry no, can't get it (usually because the distributor no longer carries it or the item is out of print. In reference to some of the comments regarding the personality of the owner, people who are wondering should try the store to judge for themselves! The owner wins my loyalty by not demanding it - he has told me on more than one occasion, that if I find thing elsewhere at better prices than his, I should buy them. You don't have to buy from him! But for crying out loud, this shop has been winning Best of the year awards from D Magazine for YEARS! The store is decent, but the owner is awful. Every time I have gone he ruins the experience. Usually just the way he says things, being rude in general, or the fact you can hear him talk throughout the whole store because he doesn't have an inside voice. I called once looking for a comic I couldn't find, he had it, I asked him if he could hold it. He gives me attitude saying he can't hold it a week, and then proceeding to ask me how long I want to hold it. I never said anything about holding it for more than a day. I go... I'll be there in a few minutes. He then starts telling me that other people have asked him to hold stuff for weeks and don't show up. Then last week we were driving by, and we both just kind of looked at each other... going... do we really want to go in there? ...Sadly we did. We are looking through some back issues and the phone rings. The employee doesn't pick it up, and the owner starts yelling at him. The employee was all I'll pick it up, but I don't know what to say. The owner goes "No that's okay I'll get it." Being very rude and demeaning. He says he's never answered the phone before, so he's obviously new. There are two other employees not really doing much either. Yet he's treating him like crap. I'm just mad listening to the way he's talking to him, and give him a look. I put back the stuff I pulled to buy, we finish looking around more than fifteen minutes later. My boyfriend was being friendly saying thanks and bye (he comes there a lot more and buys from there more than me), and the owner doesn't look our way, doesn't say thanks for coming, just sits there for a moment and goes "...yeah" Only reason to really go is for the variant covers (they do have a pretty good selection of them), and the back issues, but you can typically get them online cheaper. So there is no reason to go to titan comics unless you really want to be talked down to, and get attitude from someone that sounds like he's always annoyed with everyone. read more
