Title says cards and Comics. I came for the cards and drive 30 mins only to find out they only deal in comics. They haven't sold MTG or Pokemon for close to 2 decades says the other/manager. Really disappointed... Need to move the card from their title... read more

Terrible service all around. They go back on their pricing, taking your books up to the counter and then check eBay prices and upcharge you an arm and a leg. Whey even price them? They have a section that sells "sets" but they aren't even complete and then don't sell them to you because they "don't want to break them up". Save time, gas, and money and go to Titan Comics. read more

Hidden gems waiting to be discovered...if you can find them. This small shop is wall-to-wall full of books! If you love hunting for comic gems this place is great! And on my visit there was a sale going on. Books are organized by Published and the Era the books where printed. There were several key issues I was able to find at a reasonable price and keys from a half price box. That was great! However the attempt of organization leaves much to be desired. Not sure why it's not all just in alphabetical order by series name. Which is annoying but more annoying was most of the books were not priced. I was pulling a lot of books from different boxes. So it was a mystery how much I had pulled and the owner wasn't sure either when I got to the register. This led to an uncomfortable mix up at the counter. I would of bought more but didn't feel comfortable with the price changes made at the register. Be careful if you pull a lot of books. I might come back but will be more careful. Lots crammed into tiny space, treasure hunting, deals to be found, Poor Organization, most books not priced, read more

I've been a subscriber at Awesome for about four years now, and it is simply the best. I completely agree with Scott; if you want just comics, this is the place to go. They can special order, if you need other things like action figures, statues, etc. And it doesn't hurt that Uncle Wok is next door. read more

Jake and the bunch at Awesome Comics take care of their regular customers. I'm reading a couple of reviews of people who have had bad experiences, but i've always been treated very kindly and have always felt welcome. The prices are great (especially for subscribers who get 20% off), and they take care of their books. They also have a large selection of back issues as well as a section in back of the store for dollar comics, that gets updated quite often. I've found many gems in the dollar boxes. Unfortunately, due to an office relocation, I won't be going here as often, but they will see my face from time to time. read more

It's a small place, but they have quite a few back issues and all of the new stuff that stores get on a weekly basis. The gentlemen working had great attitudes, and seemed like they'd be willing to help if needed. The glass case has a variety of CGC and mid range raw key issues. It's definitely worth a look for serious collectors. The prices were fairly reasonable for a brick & mortar. The only reason I didn't give them the full five stars isn't entirely their fault. The store isn't large, and that means there's a lot of stuff everywhere. It was difficult to shop the high end stuff. I couldn't even see the top shelf of the glass case. If there's another customer looking at the same thing, forget about it. Just come back later. As any comic shopper knows, some of us are chatty-Cathy's, and some of us treat it like a solemn, quiet church. If the former is in your way at this place, and isn't cognizant (or just doesn't care) about other shoppers, then you probably won't spend much money here because they won't get out of the way. Were the store a hair larger, and a little less cluttered, this probably wouldn't be a problem. Dear fellow high end shoppers and collectors: let's talk about bargaining. There's no need to openly pull up GPA, eBay, etc. at the store and show them. They know how much they have into the book, they know how much they're willing to come down. Look, negotiate, and either buy or move on. Dear store operators: managing a chatty-Cathy is part of the business and has been for decades. It's the second most difficult part of the business, next to finding the most profitable order points. Managing them takes finesse, but if you allow them to gab too long and soak up all of your time, you'll miss potential sales from the rest of us. read more

Finally, a comic dealer with integrity that knows fairness and honesty are the best ways to keep a customer's business for the long term. The store may be small, and not as fancy as some others, but they keep having what I need, and if not, finding it quick. read more

Pros: Cheaper, better/wider selection than Keith's. Pure comic store. Friendly dude inside. Next door to Uncle Wok. Cons: A little disorganized, no computerized stock listings. They'll help you look for anything but might not know for sure until they look. I think I like Awesome a little better than Keith's, but it's pretty close. read more

Good little hidden Comic Book Place. It's spot if your looking some back issues on Comic Books. The selection is about the same as anyone else. I would recommend shopping cause you never know what you want might find here. Cool thing is they give you a little discount if buy a little more than one item. read more

First of all, I'm not a regular customer.. but the customer service I received made me feel like family. That is reason why I'll be coming back to this awesome store time and time again. Lots of new and back issues at amazing prices. They also have a lot of collectibles that my wife would probably disown me if I spent our 401k here. Great place, great staff. 5 stars all the way! read more

A good sized collection of back issues. Owner was extremely helpful, even dug through some newer unsorted acquisitions once he knew what I was shopping for. Some higher-dollar books in the case and behind the counter. read more

This is by far my favorite comic store in the metroplex. Jake and his crew take care of their regulars and they are super accommodating with their subscription service. I've had a lot of luck here finding back issues and interesting collectible comics. If you dig comics, you have to check out this place. read more

This is what a comic shop should be. He has comics...that's all, nothing else. He has new comics, back issues, trade paperbacks, and a few statues, figures, etc available. He offers a typical subscription service, and awesome deals on variant covers and back issues. If you like comics, go check out this store. The only problem with this store is that it's hidden away in the shopping center, and the address is correct, but it is showing way north on the map. It is really located near the intersection of Royal and Abrams. read more

I have been a customer for more than 20 years and could not suggest a better shop! A good variety of comics, from graded books to a LARGE section of $1 books, lots of toys and statues and there are awesome sales often. Jake and the gang are some of the best folks that look out for your needs. I could not suggest them more! read more

Hands down, he greatest comic shop in Texas. Possibly the universe. Multi-verse even, maybe. Jake and Richie always take care of their customers, allowing great discounts on subscription services with frequent clearance sales. The have a fantastic selection if back issues, including some excellent prices on rare collectibles. They know their customers, to it's kind of the Cheers of comic shops. Highly recommend. read more

Jake and the crew are legit. Up front and honest, and work with you on books you want. Great selection and they actually care about comics. If I lived closer they would be my main shop. Nothing but good experiences here! read more

Good comic book shop, a neatly organized new issue rack and well-preserved back issue section. It's a little rare these days to find a comic book store that doesn't skew heavily towards card games. This reminds me more of the old Lone Star and Keith's Comics layout--a little bit of everything for everybody, but still mostly about the comix! Friendly and knowledgeable, if slightly distracted, service--staff was watching anime while we browsed. My man and I were pleased to find some gems in their back-issue area and some good deals on variant titles. Probably a good comic book resource if you live in the area. read more

Was in town for the day, showed up at the posted opening time (11am). Didn't open on time. Sucks for them, I went to another store down the street instead. read more

Best comic shop I've been to! Mike High is snooty and impersonal, Midtown is the same. Friendly service and the guys always work with me on deals. Plus the discount is very helpful!! I always take my business here! read more

Best customer service in Dallas and best subscription deal in town. Great store! Great staff! Always willing to order anything I missed.

I was in town for a day and stopped in to look for back issues of a couple series. The clerk greeted me right away and asked if he could help with anything. I say "no, just looking". No problem, that's good customer service. Three minutes later, he asks again. That's a little annoying. I don't find anything and decide to leave. The clerk was at the back of the store helping someone else at the time. He decides to walk out the front door and stare me down while I am getting in my car, without saying anything. I look at him and ask "What's up?"... He asked one more time if he could help me find anything. The next time I am in Dallas and feel like being the target of someone's paranoid unfounded suspicion, I might come back to this place. Otherwise, I am staying far away. read more

Amazing store. I have been collecting for almost 20 years now and this is by far the best shop I've ever been to. It is an actual comic store geared towards actual comic books and not card and RPG games. The staff is so laid back and outgoing. And the bargain boxes are full of hidden little gems. High valued comics in great condition for $2.oo and under. I will definitely become a regular at this store. It is well worth the 30 minute drive. read more

I needed a new store when my old one just got too into card games and less into comics. Found this place through another comic fanatic and I hate going anywhere else. Great subscriber discount, employees are helpful and friendly, and a discount on just about everything else, plus there are bargain bins. Girls sometimes have a hard time getting help or fitting in at some comic stores, but not here. read more

I do not like this store at all. I went in to look for some old 1980s back issues of a series I like. I didn't find what I was looking for, so decided to leave. The clerk stopped what they were doing, and rushed to the front of the store, then followed me out. He stayed by the front door, but proceeded to stare me down with an enraged look on his face. Before I got all the way in my car, the clerk was still staring at me all red-faced, so I looked right at him and asked what's up. He just asked "did you find everything alright?", but had his cell phone out like he was trying to take pictures. I found it insulting to be treated like a shoplifter, when I was just trying to find a book. I understand if small businesses have to look out for themselves, but this guy went in to full creep mode. read more
