Came all the way from Dallas to visit by far the best comic book store in the us I definitely recommend

This isn't my forte, by any means... BUT it is my husband's. So here is an unbiased review of a place I am NOT an expert in! The staff are just wonderful. Uber friendly, patient, and full of knowledge of all things comic related. The store is very very small... a bit uncomfortable for my taste, especially when there are 3 or more people in there. But honestly, that is my only complaint. They strive to help everyone novice or expert, and they definitely have a system. Oh, they should incorporate a military/veteran discount. Many of what we buy helps veterans or deployed service members. read more

Been shopping here for years now and Keith's Comics is by far the best comic book store in the metroplex. Great selection of new and old comics and toys. The staff are really friendly and helpful to get you caught up on what you missed in ongoing comic series. Overpricing books and messy store. So I figured I'd see if this store has gotten any better and unfortunately my next experience was worse. They don't sell new comics at the cover price to regular customers like every other comic store I've been to. Unless you pay a subscription to the store you pay whatever bloated price they see fit for books that come out that week. I'm not taking back issues. These are regular books that shipped that week. I wanted a $3.99 book but they would only sell it to me for $29 because something they deem important happened in the book. Great way to alienate and piss off potential new customers. I'd avoid business with silly pricing practices likes these guys. read more

Check eBay before buying any Funko Pops from here! They are asking much much higher than the actual going cost. Do not waste money unless you are impatient & want to pay close to 5x's the actual cost. For comics this shop is reasonable & has a good selection. Just don't get collectibles. Would you like to get gouged for comics in the news? Feel free to shop here. If you don't keep looking. Back in the day as a young boy I used to go to a nice little book store where I would grab my comics. I loved it. I would save all of my money to get my favorites. No one ever said that I could get a pull list I just assumed you could buy anything anytime. Then Batman Death in the Family issue four came out, and when I went in they were charging $40 an issue for a comic that just came out. My heart was broken, I said I'll never shop there again. A loyal customer missed out on his favorite comic because someone was greedy. Let's fast forward to today. Now I'm not a loyal shopper here. I'm from out of town. I've been buying Walking Dead from issue 1. I'm caught up and know what is going on in the universe and suddenly it is announced that Walking Dead 193 is the last issue. Image had told all of the shops that it is a fully refundable comic and that they should increase their orders months ago. This is important. The sales of this issue are going to be through the roof. This is what should be bringing people into stores. Stores had a single issue policy in hopes that people wouldn't buy them all to make the issues hard to find. What do you think Keith's Comics did? They immediately decided to gouge the customers. This is not a short ordered comic, this is a comic I'm sure they have 20-30 issues of in the back of the store. They have decided that they will sell the comic at a 400% increase and you know what, if they don't sell them all at a huge increase they will just return them. No risk all reward. It's a bad policy frankly. You have squandered your opportunity to gain new fans of comics at the opportunity to make a few hundred dollars. Shame on you. Now I wouldn't have even written a review except the workers, who had an empty store, felt that they could talk down to me when I expressed my dissatisfaction in the price hike. Sure they told me that it was already going for $15 on ebay. But really the tone in their voices was so high and mighty that I was surprised. I get you want to defend your choices in being a place that strangles the direct market out of existence but you should add a little empathy to how you handle customers. The next little kid that walks in there to get his favorite comic will be heartbroken when he sees you mark up the comic out of his price range, he has been saving up for it all month and can't cut anymore grass or wash anymore cars to cover it, try to be sympathetic with his needs or better yet don't gouge with a comic you can return for full price. Side note I called my personal shop that is holding my issue for when I return home to find out what their policy was for the final issue of The Walking Dead. It was to sell it at cover price until they sell out. There are honorable shops in the world you should find them and reward them with your patronage. read more

Is Keith really Kevin Smith? Or is Kevin Smith really Keith? Whatever- both are awesome, sexical men. I discovered Keiths when my local shop told me they don't sell my favorite comic because it is too "controversial" "violent, and "twisted". WTF? Its a book. Anywho. They recommended Keiths, and boy am I thrilled because apparently Keith has no moral compass (+1!) just like me. He carries whatever the fuck he wants and that is a LOT of stuff :) You've got your typtical animenerd fare at the front, and the cute dolls and novelties so girlfriends don't blow their heads off while waiting for their boyfriend to pick out the new Capn' comic. But toward the back you have shelves covered in the most awesome comic selections ever. I get graphic novels, personally..not a fan of the thin 10 page once-a-week "comic book", but he has a plethora of them. The graphic novel selection is great and I was able to find many things I've had to special order at other stores. Best part is, Keith kicks ass. He and his staff have a vast knowledge of all things geeky. He was so good I bought the book I was orginally going in for plus like two others that I've never heard of- because hes good like that :) read more

This is my favorite comic book store ever! Honest, with out a doubt. The service is unbeatable. They have everything you could ever want or need. They have a lot of older copies that are very easy to navigate through. They also sell action figures, T-shirts and things of that nature. They carry a lot of indie material. It's in a great location, and I normally can park right in front of the shop. Downside? The place is a little tight, but most people don't complain when they see all the amazing finds they will have here. Plus, the first time I ever walked in they didn't ask me if I was shopping for someone else, or treated me as if I was lost. In fact, it was during a pretty bad rain storm when everything flooded so we all just hung out inside and talked. The guys that work here are just awesome, and so easy to get along with. read more

YAY comics! They've got the best selection of comics and toys. These guys know their stuff, and will answer an "stupid" questions with out mocking. I'm not a Marvel girl, I know more about the DC universe. But my Dad is a Marvel guy. So I wanted to get him a really awesome father's day present. I went in (wearing a Batgirl shirt) and Keith himself helped me find something in my price range that my dad loves. (His new copy of THOR sits on his desk.) If (no not if WHEN) I need new comics related stuff I go here. Some of you might not be aware, I am a geek girl, but here I'm treated equal. (some stores, like lonestar, have policies to escort girls to the hello kitty stuff, NOT AT KEITHS!!) This store carries everything, and if for some completely random reason they don't have the obscure thing you must have, ask and they can help you get it. Keith's is uber tiny and hard to find some stuff but it's wonderful to get lost in and discover new things. read more

I've been going to Keith's for about 7 or 8 years now and they have never disappointed me with their selection and knowledge of toys, movies and comics. As a pop culture junkie with a hardcore comic and toy habit, I can always count on Keith's to provide me my weekly fix. The staff is also fantastic about recommending new titles (which I always devour) and pointing out gems from writers and artists I might have missed. Even the Mrs. (who barely tolerates my massive habit) doesn't mind wandering into Keith's to check out the Ugly Dolls or some other amusing ephemera. If you read comics on a regular basis and are in the DFW area, you would be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't swing into Keith's Comics. read more

So i've been to this place a few times over the years. It's the closest comic shop to where I grew up and it's changed locations since i first found out about it. This year, I was in dallas for free comic book day so I came here to get free comic books! The selection here is great and they let us have more than one! YAY! Today was the first time I've ever been into Keith's Comics... Today is also the last time I ever go into Keith's Comics. I'm from California and am working in Dallas for a couple months. I'm not a gotta-have-em'-every-wednesday comic-junkie, but I do love my books. So today I went in search of a local comic shop to get caught up on a book or two (I'm usually a few months behind) and Keith's had great reviews, so I drove on down. After I entered, I probably looked a little lost, as I had never been in the store. The owner, while rummaging through a bin for another customer, asks me what I was looking for (while never once raising his eyes above the bin). "The past few issues of Moon Knight" I say. Seeming like he was doing his best impression of Comic-Book-Guy, he replies "Yeah... Good luck with that." Now listen. I do my best to support small business and went out of my way to go to this establishment. I asked a simple question and could have not gotten brushed off more. A proper business would have said "We don't have them, but I can try to order them for you." Great, I would have loved it and most definitely would have returned as a customer. Instead, this guys arrogance cost him a few hundred bucks. Considering Comic Books & similar merchandise are a slowly dwindling industry, you would think that an owner or worker would try to be accommodating to the customer. Maybe I just got him on a bad day.... But I will never be back, so I'll never know if that were the case. read more

Best place to get comics, collectible toys, and well...whatever Keith feels like selling! My brother and I have been going here for over a decade, and while I've been to several comic shops in the metroplex, this is by far the best. Not only is the store well stocked with such a nice variety but the staff is very friendly and helpful. Go there long enough and they'll start to remember your name plus your pull number (which I always forget heh) and will start pulling your subscriptions the minute you walk in the door. Never had a problem with them, and even when it looked like I was going to they were able to resolve it quickly and nicely. They know their stuff too, so don't be afraid to ask questions. And if they don't have a certain book in stock they will try their best to get it for you as quickly as possible. Seriously the best comic book store in Dallas hands down. read more

Still the best store in the general Dallas area for mid to high end back-issues. They have tons of toys and new issues, but I strictly collect back-issues these days. Every time I'm in town I stop by and see what they've got. The staff is helpful, every single time. The prices are actually reasonable, which can be rare for a brick and mortar store. Some stores see a comic from the 80's and think it's worth $30 because they don't have things like that in their store. Keith and the gang know better. Golden, Silver, Bronze, and Copper galore. Minor keys, major keys, available in store. They'll even look up the stock on Mega Keys in just a few seconds. Great guys, and next time I'm in Dallas I'll certainly hand them my money! read more

I love this place. It's a little hole-in-the-wall comic shop with great customer service and a selection of interesting items. I get all my weekly comics here and I almost always find something that I didn't even know I wanted. The staff are always happy to help me find something or explain how a particular book fits within the larger universe of comic-dom. Keith's also runs a lot of specials, so if you keep in touch with the store over twitter or facebook, you'll always be in the know. It's sometimes difficult to find parking at night (I don't know what is going on in that center at night), but it's worth the time. read more

My friend had it with me going to a chain comic book store, and to be honest I had too. She dragged me around town showing me all her favorites but all of them were too far, too empty, too hipster-ey. When she thought all hope was gone, we went to Keith's. Walking in the first thing I saw was the shelf dedicated to Doctor Who complete with a TARDIS scarf. I hadn't seen it anywhere else and that pretty much sealed the deal and the rest was icing on the cake. The employees are super nice and incredibly helpful. They'll help you find the latest and greatest or refer you to a classic and not only that but make sure you start at the proper place and read them the way they should be, which came in extremely handy during the new 52 Teen Titans when they threw in a crossover that would have ruined my reading experience if someone didn't tell me about it. Past the comics, and there are a lot of comics, they have an exceptional selection of toys and other merchandise (clothes, backpacks, plush toys, actions figures) There are also plenty of things to keep the kids, or the uninterested significant other, occupied while you nerd out. Who can resist the Wonder Woman hoodie? One thing that really impressed me was the manga. Most of the other stores I went to didn't have that. Whether you are just getting into comics, a diehard fan, need to give your kids something to look at while you browse, or really really need that new Totoro backpack and the hoodie that matches, Keith's has got it all. This is a friendly, well-rounded, has-something-for-everyone store and I smile every time I walk in or out. read more

Excellent comic shop for a few reasons. One, they bundle mini-series or story arcs together and sell them as a package, making it easier to collect. Two, although they have minimal back issue bins, they said they can dig through their warehouse for me if I give them a list of comics I want. Three, the staff was very friendly, gave great advice about picks, but wasn't pushing me to buy anything. Looking forward to filling the holes in my collection at this store. read more

Tonight was my first time in this amazing hidden jewel. I brought my dad in to cure a bad day, and Keith's Comics delivered! The gentleman manning the store on a late Saturday night, was incredible. He handled multiple different transactions and interactions without a hiccup. In fact, he definitely earned brownie points when he hid some purchases I was attempting to make inconspicuously. ( who doesn't need a surprise when their day was crap? ) Honestly I can even say the customers that shop there are amazing, no one was rude or snobby. Which is something I tend to run into a lot, as I mostly go to comic shops for my growing urban vinyl obsession. I just can't say enough good things about this place. The stock is delightfully arranged with a careful aplomb that only adds to the treasure hunt. I will most certainly be back, with other people who appreciate a true retail experience one can only find, in this rare Dallas storefront. read more

This place is a little hard to find because there was only a small sign that said comics but it was totally worth finding. They had a large selection of figures, statues and comics. I bought three statues and had one ordered, I can't wait to pick it up. They are very helpful and friendly. If there is something they don't have they will order it for you. They even gave me a free magazine. The only thing they need to work on is the way they organize and layout all the statues and figures, it was hard to see the selection at times because it was just all over the place in no particular order. I would like to see better organized layout of the statues and figures. But overall I was very satisfied and felt they had great customer service. I will be coming back on a monthly basis for sure. read more

I've gone in a minimum of once a month for about 5 years now, and every time I go in I'm reminded why! Small place, filled with everything you could ask for or expect to find in a comic shop, but what does it for me is being able to walk in and easily strike up a conversation with either employee or customer or, walk in make a purchase and leave without being bothered. I did a lot of shopping this weekend and I have to say I got the best service at Keith's. My daughter loves reading the Japanese graphic novels (manga). I admit I read a few too. Okay...I admit more...I'm a total manga geek. I read them all like a housewife on boxed win watching soaps. Keith had the ones on her Christmas list, and some other cute items. The store was busy but they still greeted me and helped me find what I was looking for, while happily juggling several other customers! Keith is super nice as is all the staff we encountered! Don't normally get my comics from this place, but I was in the area, and thought I would drop in. It has an appeal, the place seems a little too serious for a comic book place, as though this is the owners life (yes, I know it's his livelihood) instead of his job. Update -1 star for wasting my time. They are requiring me to not buy a second copy of an in print out today comic (they have a pile of about 30) for myself and my Girlfriend. She says I "ruin them" so she wants her copy to read/keep while I run around and do not always leave the book pristine. My solution buy 2, everyone's happy. But now they say I have to come back another day... Well I have to run off and do consulting for a children's hospital, I won't have time to come back for a while. I don't have time to waste coming back for a 2nd copy of 1 book, I show up when I can and today spent 87$ and felt slighted by not letting me get 1 additional comic. I love this store but I don't like wasting time nor can I anytime soon. And it wasn't like I tried to buy 8 copies. I wanted 2. ____________________________________________ Fun little store, part of a multi-store mini chain (3-4?) very friendly and helpful people and wall to wall stuff. I tend to bounce all over the Dallas area when looking for comics and I stop in this shop 4 or 5 times a year. The parking is tight so do not go around lunch since they share a parking lot with Jason's Deli. The store itself is tight too and gives me a bit of claustrophobia, but they have quite a few gems packed into their store and it is very interesting to look around. They have a stellar variety of action figures and statuettes, but very little gaming. The owner seems to have switched gears since the last few times I had been in and was rather pleasant. He was never rude before, just not very congenial but has been great to speak with and helpful. The little guy with the mustache is in the upper echelon of comic store employee, very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. The store is great and worth a moment to stop in. read more

I hope they get a better location one of these days. This place was impossible to find the first time I tried to go here (free comic book day) and it is a claustrophobics worst nightmare. If you get over those two things plus the occasional stereotypical comic book nerd then it is a good place. Friendly staff and although I can't find a darn thing in there on my own there is always someone there willing to help. But please please please get a bigger, better location. I don't like not even being able to get into a store without having to shuffle around this and that. read more

We went to Keiths Comics a few weeks ago after Wizards released their Dark Ascension set. So we searched around the DFW area looking for a place that still had Fat Packs available because all of our regular go-to places were sold out. So, We called up Keith's and they said they had "ONE" available. So had then hold it for us and when we walked in we asked if they had any available and they said "Oh no we don't have any available" My husband started to complain and they said well whats your name? So we gave them our name and voila! they had hour box ready for us. We were so happy that they held it for us and wound up buying a a booster box from them as well. We will be returning here for our future gaming purchases. read more

This place is awesome because of their amazing selection. The only thing I'd say needed help is the staff. When I went in I didn't get acknowledged until I was about to leave. Favorite! They're super nice. It's a little crowded and they could use some more display cases or shelving for the loads of figures and plushes they have. Just needs a little organization. While I a by no means a comic book expert, my first experience at a real comic book store with my husband satisfied every romanticized idea I had about a comic book shop. Friendly workers, guys giving commentary while watching a movie on the small tv, and cramped space chock full of comic books and paraphernalia. Even as my husband spent forever perusing various comic books, I was distracted by all the knick knacks, plus some interesting graphic novels that I didn't even realize existed out there. A fun place to spend a bit of free time. read more
