Madness has a wide variety of collector card sets, board games, and also modern action figure lines, with Star Wars and G.I. Joe as large focal points. Madness does carry some vintage Star Wars figures from the '70s/'80s but it really shines with the franchise toy lines that have come after that heyday, with deep inventory in the sequel trilogy figures, Power of the Force, post-prequel movie and streaming show figures, and the Retro Collection. This is also the place if you love the Pop! Funko figures (which I do not in the least) as Madness has definitely gone all in on the craze. I found the staff to be helpful with my questions during my visit and they gave me space to think about some items I was mulling over. I was looking for manga for my 10 yo daughter and the staff was really helpful in leading me to checkout a few series I otherwise would have never known about! Uber friendly, patient, and full of knowledge of all things comic related. The store is very very small... a bit uncomfortable for my taste, especially when there are 3 or more people in there. Kinokuniya is a great, authentic spot for those who love all things Japanese. If you like to collect manga and want to see a huge variety of selections, this is the place. I really like that they also have a selection of manga in Japanese! The art book aisle is awesome. It's hard to find art books in other bookstores, and even places like Barnes and Noble won't have a selection as varied as Kinokuniya. Despite the endless aisles of manga, I've surprisingly noticed that they're missing a few decently known manga. Unless I keep missing it, I've never seen The Case Study of Vanitas in their aisle, but they have the author's other work, Pandora Hearts, in there, for example. I would also say Kinokuniya is limited with their selection of anime goodies. I like that they're all very much authentic and different from your typical anime store selling pop figures and easy to find Bandai/Banpresto stuff, but their blind box selections are also becoming easy to find in other places because it's all the mainstream shows. Overall, if you're looking to expand your collection, this is the place to go.

The seats were not very comfortable to work in if that's what you're looking for. But the vinyls and vibe was impeccable, gave grunge band vibes. Would I go again? no. Did I like my one time experience? yes.
