What can I say about this place?? Me and my husband were in town visiting friends here and I love Pop Figures and that kind of thing so we had to check this place out! I noticed they had some Umbrella Academy pops so I decided to try to look for Ben. Well, these two employees helped me search the wall of Pops for 45 minutes! I felt really bad because they have a couple of walls of these things so there's a lot to look through. Ultimately they discovered the Ben Pop was at their sister store More Fun Toys because it was an older model and they had mostly the newest ones there. I forgot to get the other guy's name but Manny, you're the best for helping me search! We'll definitely be back next time we're in town. This place is great! read more

Really a comic shop with a nod to board, card, and tabletop games. If you're looking for interactive games and puzzles for all ages, walk down the street to the other "More Fun" store. Large selection of comics and graphic novels, tabletop dice, collectible magic cards (bulk, not singles), etc. Board game selection was not as good as Common Ground in Dallas but also included a lot of less popular games to explore. Figurine game on-point, including discounted and clearance items. Seemed to be full of regulars. Large paint section for Warhammer and the like. Curiosities abound. Store is cramped and layout is very strange. Store is not zoned by games, figs, cards, comics but is rather a blender of nerdy goodness. Some spaces were legitimately hard to get through, and impossible to traverse if another patron is blocking the way. read more

I'm not sure how I've never been here before! Let's chalk it up to all the eye candy on the square, but we stopped in this weekend for the first time. This is definitely one of those environments that nurtures both your inner child and your inner nerd. They are located on what is arguably the coolest side of the square! They are next to Atomic Candy, a few doors down from Mad World Records and on the same side as Beth Marie's!! That's not even counting all the food. However, it's very convenient to both the inner children and nerds to hit up all those spots! There were shelves upon shelves of comics, everything was brand new and shiny. I don't read comics, so this is not my area of expertise, but I'm pretty sure that I didn't see any used/traded comics on the shelves. They had a wide variety of board games, RPGs and card games too. I don't know anything about RPGs but I saw some classics and party games too, so there were a lot of different types to choose from. I wanted to take a closer look at these, but it was fairly crowded. They caught our attention though, and we plan to return and peruse more thoroughly. There was also a huge, huge, huge selection of POP figures, action figures and there was a glass display with some old school figures and comics that seemed pretty cool. I found some novelty items throughout, like giant dice and spoof books. I saw a good array of Doctor Who and Star Wars memorabilia. My husband was completely enraptured by the Back to the Future hat- I didn't take a picture because it hurt my eyes and I wasn't sure how that would come out, lol! The entire store is really neat, but it's a bit of sensory overload. This is the kind of place that I would need to spend more time in to really gather how good the selection is, but I did see a lot of nice surprises. The problem is the layout makes it difficult to look at anything without being in someone's way. Then you feel the need to move on because there is only so much room. The back left corner is a nightmare if you are claustrophobic. The aisles are so small it is 100% impossible for two people over the age of 8 to pass each other. It also juts off and comes around, so it's set up like a maze; my husband and I nearly collided with each other coming around a corner, couldn't pass and had to go back and forth multiple times to escape because people kept blocking our various exits. The rest of the store is less of a hazard, but again, there's not a lot of room for several people to look at the same area. Since we didn't purchase anything, I cannot comment on the service. There were three people working (or perhaps two? With the maze, it's possible I was seeing the same person but by different shelves) on a Sunday afternoon and two of them (or maybe one?????) greeted us and asked us if we needed help with anything. We declined since we were just browsing, but it was nice to be asked with a smile. I wouldn't mind finding a time when it's dead in there so I could take a closer look at things, but hey, don't be shy, head over and take a peek! I am a HUGE comic, collector individual so I was so excited to head to this store as I hadn't been, and it was my birthday where I planned to buy myself a gift! Overall I give this store two stars (maybe 2.5 if Yelp! allowed it). The reasons being... 1. Due to COVID they had reduced occupancy (totally get it) but all the staff seemed to police people which created an urgency-like atmosphere to get people in and out. 2. When the staff did speak to you, although they were helpful, they didn't come across as friendly. 3. There was a great assortment of items, but their pricing was not competitive. I found things cheaper online and/or at nearby discount stores. 4. The layout of the store was not organized, and had no labeling to help you identify what genre's or sections you may find what you were looking for within. (Instead you had to rely on those rather pushy sales reps.) I had high hopes for the store as an avid adult collector, but it just didn't make the grade for me. I found myself wanting to leave rather quickly, leaving with nothing. (So sad.) read more

Pretty standard comic book store setup these days: lots of trades, lots of toys and board games and other merch, very cramped aisles that can legitimately leave you trapped for awhile if you come during a very busy period. The customer service I received was baseline friendly. Not rude or bad, but not overly welcoming, either. It's honestly not my cup of tea as far as a retail experience goes, but I'm bumping up another half star to four because I realize that comics are not 100% my scene. I'm more of a dabbler, so it's not as worth it for me to go to a real live shop with little space. They seemed to have a pretty good selection of books and merch, so I'd recommend it if you're a comic fan in the area. read more

Was here today with my brother and Dad. I had already entered the store where I was asked to wear a mask, no problem. My Dad and Brother walk up shortly after where the kid at the door said to wait to do head count. My Dad only replied saying it was stupid as really the whole mask thing is ridiculous (I was there not even a few weeks prior and not asked to wear one) In response the ignorant kid at the door said aloud "I'm not gonna let them in now". 5 people left and when my Dad and brother tried to enter they were shooed out and told not to come in, I very quickly exited and refuse to come back here again. If you're really that ignorant of a snowflake, that can't handle someone voicing their opinion then you really need to reconsider how to run a business. It also seems very apparent that they have done this to a lot of other people and seem to be screwing themselves in the long run! read more

Visiting Denton on a Sunday afternoon, I stopped into More Fun Inc., to see what they had in the way of pre-1980s back issues. I think More Fun might be owned by the same guy as Keith's Comics in Dallas. The one time I met Keith, I got the impression he was a stand-up dealer. Unfortunately, More Fun did not have what I was looking for. The store was what all comic shops have turned into -- game shops with statues in the middle displays, a few new comics on the rack and a ton of drekky back issues from the last five years, sometimes sold in bulk. This is fine for if that's what you're looking for, but it's not really what I'm into. The clerkette was nice. I found her attractive. She wore a Batman tee-shirt. (I was intrigued.) They do not have pre-1980 back issues, but the girl behind the counter was very friendly and as helpful as she could be. read more

Cute comic and game store right on Denton's Downtown Square. They only sell new bound comics (so it's not your place if you're looking for an older comic or single issues). Definitely more games/toys than comics. Their game selection is good, but you'll be paying top dollar. A lot of the store is comic-related stuff (figurines, toys), which isn't really my thing. But it's a fun store to stop in at as you walk around and explore the shops on the Downtown Square. read more

They had everything, then 2 days before Christmas my friend got a present for his brother there, Axis and Allies and they had all the different ones. The first thing we noticed when we walked in was the over-powering scent of cigarette smoke & dryer sheets, with an underlying scent of body odor. The comics selection was a little lacking. They opt to carry recent issues & TPBs, no long boxes of back issues were present. The place is definitely more games oriented. The store is tidy though, which is a challenge for comics shops. I found a couple items I was interested, but just left instead as odors over-whelmed us & lead to headaches. read more

I was so impressed with his knowledge and depth of detail he gave us about multiple different types of games! This is a cool little store and a great place to nerd out a little bit. Or a lot a bit. I'm not really a comic book guy or into RPGs (I dabbled once upon a time, but that was long ago) but even still, I found this to be a fun store. They have tons of games to look at, not just the nerdier types you are picturing but party games and the like, lots of toys and collectibles, comics and RPG paraphernalia of course, and then just some fun thingamajigs and doodads. Would be a good place to go for gifts for the right type of person. All in all, a decent and pretty comprehensive comic book store that I think any self respecting geek or nerd would appreciate but also worth a visit by anyone else who likes fun and interesting things and isn't afraid to indulge in their nerdier tendencies. I have to start out by saying I don't read comics or play board games for that matter. With that said, I absolutely love this place! Staff is always friendly and asking if you need help, which is nice. Little do they know I have no clue what I'm looking at. You have to keep in mind this is a small shop with people bumping in to each other to check out the latest comic. It might be best if you went on a weekday. I wouldn't really know if their selection is any good, but I did notice some popular card games my friends have mentioned and cool figures from shows I've watched. I do know that they try to use up every inch of space. Like I said I don't read/play games, but I like going it this place and even though it's small I can spend some time in there. I might just have to pick up that card game the next time I'm in there. read more

I usually like this place but I went in and the told me to leave if I don't put my mask over my nose. I have a breathing condition that would cause me to basically suffocate if I cover up my nose like that. We purposely went very early and on a weekday so it would not be crowded. There was only one other person in there besides me and my wife but they still wanted me to suffocate I guess. Shame. read more

Came in to the store looking for a few items for my son. The clerks are young, but they were polite and one immediately came over to answer my questions. One of the clerks overheard my discussion with another clerk, and followed me out to give me additional information about another place where I could get one of the products I was looking for that the store did not carry. Amazing shop. My lady can go in here and get whatever her heart pines for. Everything is well laid out, and there's a ton of everything. My only little gripe is that there aren't a ton of "normal" games, like Bananagrams and Cards Against Humanity. I'd much rather buy them from here rather than Walgreens or Target. Or maybe there are some, and they're always sold out. Either way, it's nothing to knock them down a star for because I can't seem to walk out of this store without spending some money (be it a new book or some little trinket) and that's a good enough excuse for 5 stars to me! read more
