I stopped by House Rules Games with my brother last weekend when I was visiting Dallas and we were exploring Bishop Arts. The store isn't large (and has a mildew-y smell that suggested the might need a dehumidifier?) but it was very well stocked with an incredible array of board games of all kinds! We had happened upon House Rules Games (we saw their sign and wandered around the corner to check it out), but we left with two board games, some Magic: The Gathering cards and some Pokemon cards (most of what we bought were gifts). The customer service was great also - very friendly and helpful. A great little shop that is well worth a visit if you're interested in board games! read more

But the most amazing thing about this store are the prices. Everything here was cheaper than I could possibly get from like Amazon and even my local game store. This is a wonderful game shop in Bishop Arts District. I love browsing through the array of games they have. Mentally storing ideas of gifts for family and friends. Depending of who's managing the store, different perspectives I've received of games. A lot of times finding something fun and new for my regular party game nights at home. I've been in here twice in the last month or two and the man running the store was both personable and knowledgeable about all of the games we asked about (both party games and more dense strategy games). While we were in the store, another couple came in asking about a game he was unfamiliar with and he made note of it to research and test out so he could consider stocking it. This is the ONLY game store you need. Stephen curates a great mix of games. Gateway and party games up front, TCGs, euros then mid-heavy games towards the back. A tight selection of D&D and other RPGS and even some Warhammer/40K merch. Aaand, Stephen backs and retails Kickstarters. Everything is cheaper (seriously everything) than it would be on the big name websites, they provide fantastic shopping advice for players of all experience levels, and have an incredible selection of often very difficult to find kickstarter games, not to mention nice DND, TCG, and classics collections. As someone that loves the hobby and has a decent collection at this point, I really wish I would've found this place sooner. It's become a go-to spot for my wife and I to pick up a new game to try out. We've gotten everything from three hour long, massive tabletop games to simple crowd-pleasing party games here. Searched online and locally for Cyberpunk Red but no joy. Found House Rules Games and they had it in stock. Easy to find, cool locale and an awesome array of product. Boardgames, some miniature games and pretty much all the latest RPGs. Some of which I wasn't even aware of and I review games on youtube. Cool store, good vibe, good music...oh and it smells good in there...a game store...that smells really good. Kudos.
