I brought my vehicle to the Tires Plus on Lake Street to replace a tire that was covered under warranty after a bulge was identified. The repair was completed, and I left assuming everything was taken care of. The next day my tire pressure light came on. I figured it probably just needed to be reset after the service. By Monday morning, the tire was completely flat. I called the store expecting them to take responsibility and help resolve the issue, especially since the tire was under warranty and they had just serviced it. Instead, I was told I would need to tow the vehicle back in. I explained that I didn't think I should have to pay for a tow when the problem appeared to be related to the work they had just done. Rather than working toward a solution, the manager, Jonathan, became combative and argumentative. The tone was defensive and dismissive, not helpful. When I asked for the name of his manager or someone I could escalate the issue to, he refused to provide it and acted like there was no one above him. I ended up having to call the main customer service line myself to try to get this resolved. I did not create this issue. The tire was covered under warranty, I brought it in for repair, and shortly after the service the tire was completely flat. A reasonable response would have been an apology, arranging a tow, and correcting the problem. Instead, I was met with resistance and poor customer service. I've been a long-time customer of the Tires Plus location on Lake Street in Minneapolis, but my recent experience was so unprofessional that I will not be returning. I had a 10:00 a.m. appointment and arrived planning to drop off my car, which is how I've always done business at this location. The parking lot was full, but instead of being greeted or assisted, the manager, Jonathan, abruptly told me, "Ma'am, move your car to the street," with no explanation, no courtesy, and no professionalism. He was already on the phone with another customer and was extremely condescending and rude to her as well. After dismissing me, he ignored me for several minutes and then stated he would not help me at all until I moved my car. When I calmly pointed out that I had an appointment that was now behind schedule, he became aggressive and falsely claimed he had asked me multiple times to move my car--which simply was not true. It was very clear he was having a bad day and taking it out on customers. At one point, he openly told a coworker he was "pissed off," which only reinforced that his behavior had nothing to do with policy and everything to do with attitude. I left feeling disrespected and unwelcome. I escalated the issue and was told I would be contacted by Area Manager Shane H. within 48 hours. That follow-up never happened, which further confirms the lack of accountability. Poor customer service, poor management, and no follow-through. I went on a last minute road trip & wanted to get my cabin air filter changed & Issac was so helpful and able to get me in right away. My tire sensors broke and all my dash lights came on the DAY after I got my tires replaced months ago from the same location, but I got over it and just thought I'd get them fixed the next time I go in. Nope, they blamed me and I can only assume they think I'm scamming them? Also, they knew the dash lights were on but released the car back to me without saying anything? And to add from my other angry posts about this place, the guy I talked to on the phone avoided me because he didn't want to talk to me face to face. I called the Davenport store to inquire about a appt for an AC check. I spoke with Mike. He told me to come in right away , that they were slow and if I came in right now, he could get me right in. I drove in and arrived at 1:00 pm. Mike checked me in and said to me he would get me right in for an AC check! One hour later my truck was not even in the shop yet . They finally got it in and at 2:30 I told Mike I had a 3:00pm doctors appointment, he went out and checked and the system had not gotten up to pressure yet. I keeped an eye in the shop and the guy that was supposed to be working on my truck was sitting in a chair doing nothing! Then at 2:45 another guy with a long beard came out and wanted to check me out! I asked what was causing the AC leak and he said that they canceled the service because I told them too! This was not correct! Then he asked me if I was going to pay for the AC Check ! I asked if the service was completed! he said that they did not have enough time to complete the AC check! He threw me my keys and said that if I needed a future AC check to go down to Firestone! This is obviously a case of get me in quickly and wait! These two guys are very unprofessional . I am the Vice President of a Pool and Spa Company with 32 vehicles! If you think that I will have my transportation manager take our vehicles to any Tires Plus, you are mistaken! I went in to have my oil changed and 1 tire balance, the man said I needed an appointment so I made one and asked what it cost to balance a tire and was quoted $15 per tire. When I came back 2 days latrer I had the tire balance and my oil change, I am a serior citizen on a fixed budget, so I use coupons whenever I can. So to keep this short I useed the coupon for the oil change and save $17, but the man charged me an extra $20 for balancing the tire ($35). I will never go back to Tires Plus again. read more

I had my oil changed today, 6/21/2024 at the Tires Plus location on Northdale Blvd. When I was called to the counter to pay for my oil change I was told the total was $102.26. I said Omg that's high! The girl that was waiting on me told me that that is why she changes her own oil. I paid and came home and dug out my previous receipts from my oil changes at Tires Plus. THIS TIME Tires Plus took it upon themselves to put "full synthetic" oil in my vehicle without my approval. I have always had synthetic blend oil in the past and they know it because it's on record. This review begins with a birthday. My birthday. TODAY. And what precious gift did I receive today while driving on 94? An exploding tire. Crazy day, but I'm actually in high spirits. Unfortunately, Tires Plus did not contribute to those high spirits. After that fiasco on the road, I drove to Tires Plus on my baby tire and asked them to replace my busted one. My family has always bought our tires from here, so they were under warranty. The work was completed just fine, but the communication throughout the process was pretty poor. A lot of waiting and then nothing and then more waiting. I expect waiting at a car repair place, but I just wish I had known from the beginning that it would take more than 30 minutes to get an estimate when the guy at the counter said, "We'll take a look right now." I would have gone home and they could have called me. When I got the price estimate ($40 with the warranty coverage), my boyfriend picked me up so that I wouldn't have to hang out all day with the container of Coffeemate (those things are always hanging around in car repair places, I swear). Before I left, I noticed signs saying they would be closed at 6 p.m. tonight for a meeting. I made sure to ask if my car would be ready before then (was not offered an actual time estimate on the work). They said definitely and that they would call. Things were looking up. Then, no call. 6 p.m. rolled around and I realized that I still haven't heard from them, so I called hoping that someone would be there. Thankfully, someone was in the office and said that the car had been ready for a while. I said, "No call?" He said, "I called earlier and it went straight to voicemail." That would have been a good time to leave a voicemail, no? Isn't that the typical thing to do? But no voicemail. Anyway, I'm just a bit frustrated with the communication today. The actual work seems to be fine and I had an OK experience with them a few months ago when they patched a tire for me, but I think this will be my last trip to Tires Plus. read more

In my continuing quest to air up my tires, after using 2 gas stations air machines that didn't work right, I swallowed my man pride and took it this morning to a tire shop to have them do it. I came here because when I had a flat tire last year I asked them to repair it. It turned out the tire was beyond help (and I didn't buy one from them because I get my tires used), but they didn't charge me anything for checking the tire and putting on the spare! Today, when I told them I needed needed the guy replied, "we have lots of air!" And they did, or at least enough to fill my tires to 33psi. It was free! read more

The bad: took TWICE as long as they told me it would take. And.on one wheel they left tire grease on the outside...annoying. Based on previous reviews I was expecting a less than stellar experience, but I booked the appointment because I have been going to various Tires Plus locations since I got my license. I made an online appointment for new tires, alignment and an oil change (bye bye tax return). Within about 10 minutes I got a call from Joe at Tires Plus to talk to me about what tires I was looking at, he told me they didnt have those specific tires in the store and the only 4 in the Midwest were in North Dakota...I was crushed, they were on a promo and I was looking for the most budget friendly option. Joe, without hesitation, said he would have them overnight shipped without cost so I could have them for my appointment - now THAT is customer service! I showed up about 15 minutes early and Joe was at the desk and he went over the cost, what all they would be checking and gave me a time estimate. Less than 2 hours later I was called back to the store to pick up my car and it turns out I didnt even need an alignment which was a huge bonus! Never once was I pressured into purchasing extra services or told something was wrong with my car. I felt the prices were beyond fair and the quality of service was really just exceptional. If you need new tires, an oil change, etc..I would consider checking this place out. They always have coupons and promos going on and a 30 day price match guarantee. read more

I took my Honda Pilot here because I had a slow leak in my front right tire. They said they fixed it, and the very next morning my tire pressure was low again. I scheduled an appointment online to go in the next day (Sunday). After not doing there job correctly they wouldn't even get me in that day and the man at the front desk refused to resolve the situation, and had a shitty attitude. As far as I can tell, there is a rampant issue at the Uptown Tires Plus where they are lying about repairs needed on your car. And as soon as someplace starts doing this, what's to keep them from sabotaging your car? I got a "lifetime" guarantee on tires here, which has been a nightmare, because now I'm ALWAYS getting flats, which I never did before. Then I have had the opportunity to hear them telling lots of people that some crucial danger existed that had to be fixed before they could drive again. They tried this on me once, right after it had been to my mechanic. And when I brought it to my mechanic based on this, he found nothing wrong with it. There are lots of similar reviews about this behavior that Google is scraping over to their map listing, so it's obviously been going on for awhile. I was sent here when my company car got a flat tire. If I had a choice I most likely would have gone somewhere else. But that being said it was close enough that I walked him which was nice. Staff is not particularly friendly. They fixed my flat, nothing else to really comment on. The interior is kind of dark and dingy. Unethical, greedy shop go someplace else. I went there just to have a tire I already owned mounted on a wheel I already removed from my car. Their sales rep, Sulu, told me that there was no way they would mount my previously used tire for me because it would create a liability for Tires Plus. He told me this without even looking at the wheel or tire. That is a complete load of horse manure. I've had many used tires mounted at many different shops over the years. It's a common thing for a tire shop to do. They just refused the work because they weren't going to sell me a new tire for $200. So I went to All J's on Xerxes and they for fixed me right up. I have been going here since I moved to Minneapolis 3 years ago and highly recommend it. They are always patient and willing to explain repairs in detail, and if I can't afford certain things at the time they don't make you feel bad or pressure you into anything. With the Tires Plus interest free credit card I was able to get all new tires and brakes and my car drives like new(it's 9 years old). The reason I totally trust them is that they were honest when I called to explain an emergency, and with my description Pete was positive the repair needed to be done at a dealer(he was right). GO SOMEWHERE ELSE I brought my car in to Tires Plus because my power steering fluid was leaking somewhere, because I topped it off and was near empty shortly afterwards. They said they couldn't identify the leak and said they had to put a dye in the hoses to find out, which costs me $55. Then they found out it was the pressure line for my power steering, which Tires Plus replaced four years ago. They said they couldn't do it for free because the warranty is only for two years. That's kind of bull to me because I shouldn't have to replace that hose that often. Anyway, they said to replace the hose it would cost $493. My brother told me to check out T T instead and they had great reviews and said they'd charge me $300. I'm a college student working a work study job so I was like heck yeah. SERVICE WAS SO QUICK. They were friendly and when they opened the hood, they identified the leak within 5 seconds! 5 SECONDS!! He said if you know what you're doing, you'll be able to identify the leak. My car is running great again, and have had no issues. Honestly, just go somewhere else. Also, my friend Hannah had two flat tires in less than two weeks. She went into TP and got it replaced, and then another became flat a week later, so she went back to TP. It wasn't this location, it was another location but still the same chain. When she went back the second time, they tried charging her an extra $60, and she called them out and the guy was like oh, you're right, sorry. Brought my truck in for an alignment and was told they couldn't do it as the manager told me my truck was too old and rusty to work on and that he was afraid if they did some work, they would be opening a can of worms. Not only was this insulting but he didn't even go outside to look under the vehicle he just peeked at it from inside the store. Brought it to my mechanic and he had absolutely no idea what they were talking about. They lied that I needed a repair and threatened that my car had a safety issue when it is just fine. Holy crap, great customer service! Brought my car in for a new tire, because mine was thread-bare. I prefaced this by telling the guy that my car sucks and that I just need to get a tire to last me the winter before I sell the car. Or burn it. Whatever. They fit m e in super last minute too, and got it all done in 40 minutes. Joe was friendly, honest and didn't try to upsell me anything. He explained everything, showed me my tire, gave me a free alignment check and when the car needed a new alignment and I declined, he didn't push me. He just said I should check with my last alignment and see if its still under warranty. Seriously, such a great experience. Even though the initial quote was a lot lower, this was a car that I had just bought and was reconditioning. The customer service provided was excellent and my anger was diffused quickly when I realized that I was being an ass about this. They are really trying to do their job. They were on schedule and even comped me for a distributor cap they ran into troubles with while completing a full tune up. They provided a discount and ran all of the necessary tests, changed the oil, the filters, performed an engine flush and winterized my car, ran a battery test and replaced the regulator in my power window. I will be back later in the week to replace the battery and put on a whole new set of tires. Car maintenance is not fun to pay for, but it's like going to the dentist's office, you don't like going, but it's nice to have a nice smile when you feel the difference in the way the vehicle performs. The person I bought the car from wasn't fully aware of some of the minor problems that I had to fix, but whenever you buy a used car, always have a budget to take car of your investment. Ryan did a great job, communicated with me throughout the day to let me know everything that was going on throughout the day and we didn't go over budget.
