Where do I even start? I think whenever I have car problems is one of the most inconvenient situations for my family and I. This was not the case at all. I called Discount Tire to see when I could make an appointment, they got me in right away and after 30 minutes I was out the door. All of the staff was so knowledgeable and helpful. I would trust them with any other questions or issues you have with your car tires. Their prices are very very reasonable! read more

I made an appointment online to get full new set of tires over my lunch break and had a great experience here. James (I am 90% sure I am remembering his name right) was super friendly and fast! He noticed that the tires I had selected and paid for online (using what was suggested by the discount tires website when I entered my license plate) were not the right size and found that the higher quality tires that did fit were $70 less per tire! I often feel reluctant about car related purchases because I know they will be expensive and I feel like people will often try to sales pitch you into buying something even more expensive, but that was not the case here which I really appreciated. He did present me with a few extra add ons like new windshield wipers (which I did get, $21/wiper for a VW) and a new spare tire because mine is probably 10+ years old (which I did not get). I was refunded the difference between the cheaper tires + the wipers and the original price I paid and my car was ready in 45 minutes! This location is across the street from a Wing Stop, Noodles, & a Jersey Mike's. There were plenty of seats to wait in but it was also convenient to run across the street and grab lunch while my tires were being changed. Sounded like appointments were the way to go, walk ins on a busy day could have to wait up to 90 min. Highly recommend this place! read more

The staff at this location are so polite and professional. It is refreshing in the auto repair business, espeically as a female customer. I trust this company, and will not buy tires from anyone else. I've brought 3 different vehicles to this location over the years. read more

I have a 2007 Honda Ridgeline pickup, I went in to price new tires and the guys at the counter were very nice and very good. They looked at the tire and said the front tires were bad so I said all 4 were put on at the same time. They gave me a price on all 4 , the book says it took 17" witch it was the price but there is 18" on the the truck, they gave me price on 17" but put 18" on for the same price and the tires are great . next time I need tires I will go back that's for sure. read more

I was very pleasantly surprised with my experience at Discount Tires on University (Midway location). I ordered the tires I wanted when they were out of stock at Sam's Club and other places, and the tires were reasonably priced. I was worried when I walked in the door, as there were so many people in line, but the service was quick to get to me, the person who helped me was nice and now my car feels so responsive. Very happy! read more

They were quick to fix my tire that had a nail in it and a really friendly team! No charge since I didn't end up needing a new tire.

Last Friday my son rushed his Subaru Outback to Discount Tire on University in Saint Paul--flat on one tire, super busy week. Guy says yeah, I'll check if it's fixable--give me fifteen minutes. My son stays right there in the waiting room. Fifteen minutes pass... car rolls out. All four tires brand new. No warning. Had to cough up five hundred for work he never okayed. Total scam. read more

This Discount Tires location has fantasric customer service, listens to the customer, and provides great priducts and seevice overall. I needed new tires on our single axle Airstream trailer. Airstreams are notoriously tricky to jack up without damage, and as a result, I watch everything they do so the experience doesn't end with thousands of dollars of damage. Cordellrow (sp?) was the tech and he was exceptional! High attention to detail, courteous beyond belief with a paranoid customer. He worked with every over-the-top request with a smile. Highly recommend and will definitely return!! read more

Man. They are just dumb in back which is not a good thing if you expect to drive your car safely. So this is what happens in the spring in fall. She has purchased from Discount a set of Blizzak winter tires on their own rims and she switches them out with her summer tires. This requires a separate set of lug nuts due to the rims which we keep in a baggy and are not touched until we make the switch again. So last spring, I drop the lady friend off so she can pick up her car as the cold winter months are gone. I do a quick walk around and one of the wheels is missing a lug nut. They fix it. Come fall, no issues. We drive through the winter and all is good. This spring, her car is missing a lug on each wheel. Again. Let me emphasize EACH WHEEL. How does that happen? I'm befuddled. Needless to say, she is frustrated. They try to pin the blame on her. They end up fixing it but really? Who gives customer their car saying all is good and you are missing lug nuts? It blows my mind. Maybe the tire prices are good are they that good for the poor workmanship? read more

I have been going to the Discount Tire on University Avenue in St.Paul for the last 16 years. They have never disappointed me. I am not an easy person to please but usually leave there with a smile on my face. The way they interact with their customers is a sight to behold; they are so respectful and courteous; even the way they answer the phone exudes professionalism. In my opinion, they are one of the best, if not the best, retail operation that I have ever dealt with. Thanks, Discount Tire!! read more

I blink in disbelief every time I come here for free tire rotations, balances and air top-offs. It's all free because I bought my tires from Discount three years ago in Colorado, but they still treat me like a valued, paying customer. Every staff member I've met at this location has been friendly, helpful and efficient and getting in and out is fast and hassle free. It's kind of mind-blowing. read more

I found that they had very friendly and competent people. They did a great job fixing my flat tire for no cost and right on time. Jeff was particularly helpful in getting me set up and I was very impressed with the whole operation. Nobody likes having to get their car repaired, but if I need service again this is where I would be happy to go. read more

This guys are awesome! I recently went today to discount tire to get an issue i had with my tire losing pressure from my valve stem. Immediately i got helped and i advised him what exactly what it was. They went to check right away on my valve and said something is wrong that they might over torqued it or TPMS got broken. Gave my keys and within 15mins they came back and said "thats it!" They reconstructed my TPMS and said it was free of charge. I was shocked and felt i needed to reimburse them somehow. So I'm here and my tires are working perfectly good with no leaks thanks to discount tire and the team. You earned a new customer. read more

The employees are friendly, communicate well, and are helpful. They loaded my old set of tires into my friend's truck for me. Discount tire was able to help assist me with some tire issues and even offered me competitive prices off tires & service. I think this is the location I went to. I went in solo & usually people try to sell me things I don't need or tell me there's a bunch of things wrong with my car/tires. They did not do that here, got me in and out pretty quickly, I sat and ate a snack I packed & it's probably the best service I've had. They have wifi and clean restrooms so I didn't mind waiting. I did go during a weekday during the day, so it was not as busy. I think my dad also may have taken his car to this location though and unfortunately had issues with the service with his car, as they damaged one of his rims. He called a few times to get things sorted out & finally after going in person they discounted his tires & made things right. Better service than some of their competing companies. read more

if you are reading this DRIVE TO A DIFFERENT ONE. They put the wrong name on my ticket and didn't ask for ID for anything just handed me they keys without any proof any person could have just said "that's me" and drove away. On a customer service level the guy was pretty good I could not handle that. college aged white girl comes in with a nail in her tire and wants to drive away dude says no he can't do that for safety reasons then she calls her dad who demands to talk to the guy. also guaranteed somebody is gonna be eating wingstop in there read more

My Dad sold tires for 45 years. Here's his advice, 'don't buy the cheapest but the high end tire is a ripoff.' Follow his advice and you can't go wrong here. It can be busy so plan ahead a little. Their staff are trained well and will politely try to upsell but stick with the midrange tire and you can always come back later to have the tires mounted on your car if the wait is too long. read more

Absolutely, hands down the best customer service! They go out of their way to give speedy and consistently great customer service read more

this place actually scammed me. They charged me for wiper blades and tire recycling and said they would do it cost free.

I came two weeks ago I was happy with my tire installation 4 pcs on Equinox I paid $122 Came today for my son Ford focus to install 2 new tire I came with got charged $94 I wasn't happy I will have to call before I do online appointment bad exprience when I asked the sales person his explanation was the other person made mistake crap read more

Thank Goodness for Manager Mike, He saved the day. I was treated with disrespect from the employee who checked me in. 30 minutes went to 45 to an hour. I had an appointment and the employee said my car was next then next after an appointment. I had an appointment too, employee got defensive when I questioned why I was no longer next, He didn't like being questioned and got pissy. Thats where Mike saved the day again. read more

My daughter asked me to come along and help her resolve a slow leak tire issue that she was having. We were greeted by Andrew who listened to the issue and then gave us several reasonable options. While we were waiting for the service to be completed, I observed how respectfully he treated each customer. An older woman came up and asked where she needed to go to "tighten up" something (I didn't catch it all). Andrew started to direct her to the appropriate service stall but when she seemed confused, he said "Here, let me just take care of it for you". A few minutes later, he came in with some big tool in his arms and told her she was all set! When is the last time that staff at the front end switched roles and completed a repair themselves to save the customer time? read more

Tire was flat and it was close to closing time and they got me in out quick great service

Went to order tires one week ahead, told them exactly how I wanted the tires mount onto the old and new rims. Figured all those would've been note down. A week later got the call and went to get them tires mounted , told the guy exactly what needs to be done on both rims again. Took off and came back hour and half later with the same tires on while the new tires was on the new rims. Ok, no big deal. Everyone make mistakes. It's about an hour left before they're closed. They Pulled vehicle back and redo everything, about half hours before closed. Another hour of waiting, zzz.. It was closer somewhere near 6:30-6:45 when it was done. Yay! Finally almost 3 hours! Drove off and as soon vehicle hit 30ish mph, heard this rubbing/scratching noise coming from the pass fron, got louder as speeds. WTF, great! Pulled over, couldn't tell. Can't turn back cause they're closed, drove home. Lifted truck immediately, took both front wheels off and WOW, just wow. The sticky weights was slapped across the middle of the rims instead of the edge like usual causing it rub on the calipers. You can clearly see the weights with a nice line across them. Decided not to drive to work for safety reason. After work, took vehicle to another discount location since the original one was farther out. Told them exactly what happened, and need all 8 tires to rebalance. Finally, an hour later picked vehicle, drove home and TA-DA, no more scratching/rubbing noise!!!! Damn, I still can't believe they was that much of hurry. Could've been worst! You spend something north of 1300 and this is the professional? LOL Time to shop elsewhere beside discount. Gave discount a second chance aside from different location. read more

Took only 30 minutes to change tires, customer service was TOP TIER. Fast, Easy, and Cheap! Would recommend.

I made an appointment to bring my car in for a tire repair because there was a nail in my tire. I ended up buying new windshield wipers while I was there. A week later my tire was flat again and when I filled it up I noticed the NAIL WAS STILL THERE?! I have been calling and leaving voicemails and have not received a call back. I have no idea what they were doing with my car for the hour they had it in the back, but they sure were not repairing the nail that I physically went and pointed out to them on my tire. I am further frustrated by the lack of an effort on their part to remedy the situation. read more

Amazing. Noticed tire pressure light on way home and sure enough tire was hissing. Called and they got me in at 2:15, by 2:30 they told me my car was ready and patched. They charged me nothing. 0. And they were more helpful w tire selection than my dealership that specializes in my car. 10/10. read more

I've heard this place to be crazy busy where lines have gone around the room and the wait was longer than an hour. So...I went prepared. Thankfully, there was only one other person before me when I arrived. It was during my lunch break to drop off my car. The gentleman who helped me was professional, helped me pick out my tires, told me exactly what to expect, let me go back to work in time, a couple hours later I received a text my car was ready, and all I had to do was check in the front desk for me keys to get back into my car in the parking lot. Simple, professional, and to the point. read more

Discount Tire is the place to go with any tire concerns you have. They will fix flats for free (assuming it's fixable) and if you buy a set of tires there, they will repair or even replace it for free if something happens to one of them. They will also pay you for your tires if you are upgrading and your old ones have any life left. I went in to swap out my snows on the 2nd snow of the year so they were pretty swamped. They still got it done and I was astounded with the volume of jobs they were pumping out and the relatively short wait times they were quoting folks for. It was also $40 cheaper than where I used to go-- d'oh! You can make an appointment but they leave a lot of room for walk-ins, which I suspect are the bulk of their business. The line was long but service was pleasant considering how much work they were doing. Discount Tire is the bomb. read more

I went here because I had punctured my tire on a nail at a construction site and so I looked these guys up on yelp and they had great reviews so I whipped over there to see what they could do for me and then in a jiffy they had me locked in and I was like cool so after a few minutes like maybe 15 I get a text saying that I am good to go so I go back to the counter and ask the rep what the charges are and he says no charge when you need tires come see me and then I was kinda in shock that customer service was alive and well in the USA I want to mention that I have a brand new car that won't need tires for like 45,000 more miles so they could have just as easily charged me $40.00 for the repair and I wouldn't of said anything but thanks for the help with this situation but they hooked me up with no charges read more

This location is just caty-corner to Noodles & Company and SuperTarget (both great to explore while waiting) and their waiting area is large and clean. Though usually always busy, it was a bit of a surprise that recently my children and I entered Discount Tires and no staff were present to greet us. We waited almost 11 minutes before Ben emerged from the garage and helped us with our tire concerns. The staff were all very friendly and efficient once we were greeted and only waited 15 minutes for them to check our tires and inspect the differential. If you buy the tire-warranty you can come in each time you have a concern and for FREE have your tires inspected and repaired. Living in the cities with potholes and unexpected crap on the roadside, we've had to use this almost 5x a year which is a great value. I recommend this location! read more
