It's hard to find a new place to work on your car. And it's difficult to know if you can trust people especially if you're not mechanically inclined but at Troy's - I could just tell that I would be taken care of. It's a small shop with minimal waiting room so if your car is going to take more than 45 minutes - you might consider waiting at a coffee shop or something. I had an appointment that I arranged via email. They were prompt with bringing my car back for the oil change and I was out within half an hour. During my wait - I had a lovely chat with the guy behind the front desk, he talked to me about the history of the shop and the experience Troy has. Another patron brought them fudge while they worked on her car and a second patron tipped them for pumping gas - in this economy?! To me those were clear signs that these people take care of their customers and the customers keep coming back! I'm glad I found this place for all my future car maintenance read more

Troy and his staffs are awesome people. He truly cares about you and wants the best for you and your car. Honest opinions and examinations. Fair and reasonable pricing. Big subaru dealership I used to go to quoted me with 5k and barely explained reason why so I took my car to Troy. He looked and showed everywhere and said no big problem noted. He's usually booked out so I recommend making an appointment. read more

Troy's is solid and fairly priced. I've done everything from the standard oil change to brake work getting done. My 4 Runner has over $150k in miles. Things I've thought were bad, he says they are fine. When something needed to be done that he couldn't handle(axle repack), he referred me to a reputable shop. Let's what else: - Gas is fairly priced. - They have non-oxy gas. - He lets the fine people of el Rancherito park and serve up food. - Free air. - Other vendors occasionally selling stuff (Scandanavian Cakes???) - Activities for kids around Halloween & Christmas. Overall, Troy and his partner are just an all-round solid team who care about the people in the neighborhood they serve. read more

It's rare to find an auto care shop where you immediately feel like more than just another customer, and this is one of those places. The owner truly cares. Not just about doing quality work, but about people. You can see it in the way he treats his customers, the pride he takes in his work, and the respect he shows his employees. There's a level of integrity here that's hard to come by. No pressure, no upselling, just honest explanations and work done the right way. You can tell this is a business built on trust, not shortcuts. The team is knowledgeable, professional, and clearly supported by leadership that values them, which says a lot about the culture behind the scenes. If you're looking for an auto care shop that operates with honesty, heart, and real craftsmanship, this is it. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone. read more

Troy and his crew are the absolute best in the twin cities. Honest people and honest prices, don't take your vehicle anywhere else but here and they support the community heavily. I would rate this place 10 stars if I could, definitely coming back in the future, thanks! read more

Responded quickly with an estimate on yelp, great price (30% less than the closest quote), courteous. Going here from now for everything except oil changes. read more

Moved to MSP from out of state, needed brakes and got a quote of about $1100; then went to Troy and got a quote of about $700! Duh! Got free water while waiting and enjoyed his quaintly decorated waiting area with nostalgia items. Loved his wife's seasonal exterior scenes and Troy's collection of old pickups. Where else does one get to have grandkids mingle with live reindeer at Xmas time. All my work is now done there and gas prices are only beat by Costco. read more

About 15 months ago I needed new tires and got a quote from a couple different places that seemed high. So, after passing this place thousands of times I decided to head in and get a third quote from them. Troy was super helpful and had an option that was a full $200 cheaper than the other two quotes I received. My car has hard to find specialty tires which are pricier than other cars I've owned and so this was greatly appreciated! Then, about 2 months ago I went back again. I had forgotten to rotate properly and so the front two were REALLY worn out while the back two were largely just fine. I drive a ton of miles and so this made sense. Troy recommended two new ones but told me the back ones were just fine. When he looked up the same tires the price had increased as prices are going up on everything. He told me he would give me the tires for what I had bought them for one year previous! You shamefully don't find many reputable places like this for your car anymore. Highly recommended! read more

Hard working, fair, quality service you can trust! And the owner is committed to his customers and his community!

Excellent customer service! Troy was able to get me in at 7:00 am for an oil change so that I would not be late for work! They are good natured, which is SUCH a plus. Will definitely be back for future appointments. Thank you! read more

My exposure to Dave's began by their unique displays in front of their location, which routinely changed out. My family always loved seeing them, and being local, I began purchasing gas from this location. After a little while I started to almost exclusively buy gas from this location. When I recently needed work done to my vehicle, I went to Dave's for quotes. They were competitively priced, honest and knowledgeable. When it came time to do the work they were efficient and friendly. When coming back a few weeks later with a question, they remembered my vehicle just by seeing me. It's great to find a shop with so much integrity and I will be using Dave's for any auto repair moving forward - they're great! read more

I called after they had closed and they responded to me right away in the morning; and took my car in on short notice! I went for a oil change originally and also had asked if they had time to do a rotation. With only one mechanic in they were able to do all the above, plus found a nail and repaired my tire without me having to ask. I've never experienced better care. Thank you guys for your friendly, fast, and amazing service. read more

I needed some wheels & tires changed out. I have run flat tires on my car and they weren't equipped to handle the job. Troy was very pleasant to talk with and gave me recommendations on what businesses to check with. read more

Highly recommended! I have a classic car and needed several repairs done and had been looking for a place that had the expertise on older cars. Dave's exceeded all those needs. They are knowledgeable, friendly, honest and fair. It's a nicely kept shop with a nice atmosphere/decor. All the staff there are super nice and that's somewhat difficult to find nowadays. I will be back. They also sell non-ethanol gasoline. read more

Best service around!! I love that they are local and treat customers like family! They always decorate for all the major & smaller holidays which is so fun to see when I drive by almost every day. I also love that when they are open during business hours they come out & fill up your vehicle. It's great to experience this in a generation where I didn't grow up in gas getting filled for you. Highly recommend this place to anyone... read more

Honest and Trustworthy! Dealership told me I needed new brake pads. Went to Dave's to get it replaced since they were local and have really good reviews. They inspected them before completing the job and told me it was not needed. Got my trust and future business. Didn't even charge me and should get at least another year out of the pads. Then had my wife's car tire fixed the same day. Quick and thoroughly explained what they found. read more

Hands down best mechanics at best value anywhere. Friendly and honest, and they get the work done quickly. Very fair pricing, half what the dealership wanted. Don't hesitate to take your car/truck to these guys, they will not let you down. read more

The best place in the entire world. So much joy around, nicest workers ever, good deals.

We originally brought our car into Village Auto on Fairview just North of County road C, last fall and they quoted us about $1200 to get our car back in good working condition. We had a catalytic converter and a flex issue on our muffler. We decided that it was too expensive for us at the moment, and that we'd to hold off for awhile. Fast forward to a week ago, we brought it to Dave's in Roseville. After giving us a free inspection, they told me it would be $670 for them to fix it because they would have to replace the catalytic converter and the flex pipe. They told me that I should try the Wonderful Muffler Man on Rice street, as they do repairs on mufflers and can fix it for much cheaper than they could. I thanked them for their help and brought the car to the Wonderful Muffler Man, who quoted and fixed it same day for $175! I have to say that we were extremely happy with the honesty and integrity of both Dave's in Roseville, and The Wonderful Muffler Man on Rice Street, and would highly recommend either one for your auto repairs. I know that I will be a return customer any time we have vehicle problems. read more

Staff are super friendly & honest. Quick to find the problem! High quality service, been coming here for a year and will keep coming back for more years to come. Never will I find another place that has better service than Dave's! read more

Fantastic service! Respectful, reasonably priced, friendly. In and out with an oil change in around 30 minutes. Also, love they have full-serve gas option. I can't recommend this place highly enough. read more

These guys were great, super friendly, fair prices and went above and beyond. They fixed up my car and noticed a few bolts were missing from my skid plate (that I knew about and was holding together with zip tips) and they replaced them for free and without me even asking for it. They also explained everything very clearly along with prices - they've earned a lifetime customer! read more

Great quality service, friendly. They've always taken good care of our cars without unnecessary added expense.

Prompt and great price. I didn't have a million things wrong w my car like I have at other shops which either could be because I don't or other shops ripped me off. Guys are nice and have you in and out for an oil change in 30 min or less! read more

I had an appointment here to get a second opinion on some repairs that were recommended to me by another auto shop in Minneapolis. Some of my family members in the Twin Cities have been coming here for years, so I thought I would give it a shot. I was completely blown away by the customer service and prompt diagnosis. There is NOTHING wrong with my car! Thanks for saving me $400+ and providing me peace of mind!!! Rich was so thorough and explained things in a way that was easy for me to understand. They didn't even charge me for the check, which is crazy- but don't worry, I will be back for any further work on my car! THANK YOU! read more

This place was so helpful! My car wouldn't start, and I knew it wasn't a dead battery. After doing some research, I figured out that the problem was with my starter. I called Dave's, and they sent a tow truck within ten minutes. They towed it to the shop and fixed it within a day. Instead of completely replacing the starter, they cleaned it off and it was good as new. This saved me about $150! Great company! read more

GO HERE! These guys are friendly, helpful, kind and knowledgeable. They assisted me with a small project but treated me like I was their only customer and went above and beyond to help me out. Good prices and good work!!! Kristin read more

I do not know much about cars but I know these guys are legit and genuinely do a good job and care about giving you good service. Recently went to Dave's for some repair work and I couldn't be happier. They listened to my concerns, my needs, and my monetary limitations. I had a diagnosis and repair estimate within 2 hours. The whole job was completed that afternoon at a reasonable price. Of the many mechanics I've had in the past, this is the only place I would recommend. Rich the mechanic was super friendly, knowledgeable, and repaired my vehicle to the best running condition its been in for a long time. If you want to be treated well, have a professional repair done right, and pay a reasonable, average price - then this is the place to go!! read more

Quick ,and good ,very fair prices just had a starter done , erythromycin good bunch of mechanics.

I really love this place. The people are friendly and honest. I was told by another shop that I needed to have at least $800 dollars of work done on my car. I took my car to Dave's for a second opinion (because a number of friends told me about their excellent service), and it turned out that I only needed about a fraction of the work done! They saved me tons of money and gave me real, honest advice about how to care for my car. GO TO DAVE'S and get great service while supporting a local Mom-and-Pop shop. read more
