I 100% agree with the previous bad review. The service and customer care here is absolutely awful. After making an appt. online to have my tires replaced I got to the store and they had the wrong size tires and had no explanation why. I left my car overnight and was told they would have my tires in @ 9am and installed promptly. I called @ 12 noon and they still haven't gotten my correct tires in and had no explanation why, again. The employees are extremely incompetent and barely spoke english at all. They seemed to have no knowledge of anything going on and did not seem to care one bit. Possibly the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I came in to get a simple regular oil change. I was hassled to get the more expensive oil change and when I said I would rather not I was told that I don't care about my car because I'm not paying for the more expensive product. Then he also bait and switched me and when I questioned the price change I was hassled again and he made me out to be someone that was trying to scam him. More like the other way around. Bought tires from tire rack and tried to have them installed here. They took the appointment and when I showed up they sent me packing without doing the work. The clerk told me that it wasn't worth their time. He also said they didn't have the equipment to do it without scratching the wheels (which sounds suspect). Do not use Tires Plus in Herndon, VA - plainly put, they are incompetent. My LR 3 low coolant message came on. I asked them to check the fluids. They inspected the car and claimed that the thermostat casing was cracked and needed to be replaced for ~$800. They did the work but could not get the air out of the system and called me to tell me the car had to be towed to a dealer who could fix what they did. When asked how this could happen, their clerk had no response, except "you have to take it to the dealer." I took in a driveable car with a small problem and when Tires Plus in Herndon VA were done working on the car, the car was undriveable and had to be towed to a dealer to fix what Tires Plus did. Never use Tires Plus in Herndon, VA. they are incompetent. read more

The valve on the "free" machine at sheetz deflated instead of inflating my tire. Fortunately I googled tire and Tire Plus was only a few minutes away. I didn't know if it was my valve or sheetz, but tire plus had me inflated and on my way in a matter of minutes. Even though they were basically closed. First class service! read more

I called and spoke with Steve who was awesome on the phone (I am a huge fan of phone etiquette) and after work I went there, they took care of me right away (luck of the draw they weren't swamped that day) and my experience was nothing short of amazing! Steve was amazing! He was super helpful over the phone when I initially called. He did what he could to help me get a new tire same day without an appointment after having a flat earlier that morning. And I was able to leave with my new tire installed earlier than anticipated! It was a great experience that I honestly didn't was possible. He and the technician that was working on my vehicle also explained to me that my sensors were bad in the back, which is something that the dealership hasn't taken the time to explain or even help me with. It was great service and overall I was impressed. I'm normally weary of trying new places, however I originally got my tires from TiresPlus annandale and I wanted to replace the old tire with the same brand tire, but I was in a different location when my tire popped and this location just happened to be near my office. I came in to have them see if they could patch a tire that had been plugged. He said yes but that it would be about an hour before he could get me in. I said that would be fine and that I'd wait. 2 hours later they let came to take my car. They looked the tire over and said they couldn't patch it. I asked why they couldn't look the tire over and tell me it couldn't be fixed before making me wait 2 hours. They said you can't know until you take the wheel off of the rim. However, they never took the tire off. At this point I realized they weren't going to help me so I left. This is my wife's car and it will need new tires soon. I will not be buying them here. My truck, needs new tires frequently and I will not be buying them here. My other car will be needing tires when it arrives from California. I will not be buying them here. My work vehicles frequently need tires. I will not be buying them here. I only moved from California about a month ago, where I was extremely loyal to my tire shop. And they have received quite a bit of business from me. This location absolutely will not. Don't get me wrong, I understand when a tire can't be repaired. But when you say it will be an hour and it's two, that's not right. And when you make someone wait for a service for two hours only to tell them that you can't complete the service, you should be apologetic. My biggest issue is the attitude of the gentleman that helped me. They didn't act like they felt at all concerned that I had spent hours out of my day waiting for something that couldn't be done. I don't tend to give top marks to businesses but this place show great customer service. Walked in asking if they could look at my tires since I know 1 of them needed to be changed. I ended up changing my two front tires and was thoroughly impressed at their thoroughness as they notified me about my brake pads needing replacement and explained why its important since I don't have a lot of knowledge about cars to begin with. We were looking to change all tires for my daughters car. After doing a lot of research, we chose Tires Plus who had the best price for a set of 4 tires including mount and balance so we decided to try them since we had never tried them before. We had an appointment at 11:00am. The car was taken in at 10:53am. The staff was very friendly. They have a "59 minute" guarantee for tire changes with an appointment; If your tires aren't changed within your 59 minutes, they will subtract $59 from your total. However, they finished in approx. 32 min. They never "pushed" any additional services and did a great job. We will definitely would return and recommend. I went to their shop to buy two tires. They told me I needed brakes and a wheel alignment. They also found I needed one brake caliper. I had the work done - some $1,200 for everything. The mechanic that worked on the brakes stated that he had to leave early. I wasn't told why. A few minutes later I was told that my car was ready. When I drove the car the brakes felt very spongy. I drove it down the road and back and easily determined that they had not done the bleeding of the breaks. (Bleeding the brakes removes the air out of the brake line). So, they had not test driven the car after the brake job. The brakes had to be pumped in order for them to work. The pedal would go almost to the floorboard on the first push but would somewhat work when the pedal was pumped. Dangerous. I took the car back and they finished bleeding the brakes. Then it was okay. Without getting myself into a lawsuit, I can only state that I suspect that all of the work they did was not that necessary. Later events showed that they made another error when they did the brake job. If you need tires, you might try them. But, I can't recommend them for any other work. read more

I have purchased a life time alignment at Tires Plus for my 2001 Chevy Prizm about two years ago. Last week I changed both front struts, lower ball joints and outer tie rods. I also checked the inner tie rod and they were in the specs.Yesterday I went to Tires Plus for the alignment, Several hours later a salesperson called me that they cannot do the alignment because I need a new right inner rod. I took the car back home and raise the the front end of the car on stands to check the purposed issue. I cannot find any issue. I even removed the outer tie rod and then pulled back and for on the inner tie to see if there is any play. It is a solid inner tie rod. I was so mad at the salesperson that I demanded an explanation why I needed a repair that I did not have to do and wasting my time. How can we trust people when they obviously are lairs read more

I've been to Tires Plus on and off for 6-8 years. I've had older used cars and a few newer used cars and it can be frustrating to have constant maintanace. This shop will recomend work if they think its necessary, but Edson the new manager I believe is a fair and honest guy. I have had him recomend things that should be ok for several more months but to keep an eye on it. I think that is fair since he doesn't know what kind of person you are. A person that waits for it to break to fix, or someone that wants their car in pristine condition so you don't leave your wife and kids stranded on the road. If you are looking for tires, they are pretty efficent and offer fair if not competive prices. Other repairs, We live in NOVA and shops aren't cheap, period. I think if you are smart and ask for a better price, compare to other shops, or use their coupons you generally will get a good price. Definetly better than some of the local competition and not as pushy and demanding that your car will die if you don't get this fixed now. My best experience is dropping the car of during the week for a whole day. I know that might not be possible for some, but often find work is always done at the end of the day or when they say it will. read more

This place is very over priced in terms of labor and parts. I brought my 40,000 mile vehicle in for an inspection and they said I needed shocks and 4 new tires, for a total of $2300. I brought my vehicle to Edwin body shop in Sterling and got quoted the same work for $1600. My treads on my tires weren't even that worn down. Do not go here!!! read more

I used this shop for a few years. I moved 3 years ago, and I have been finding out about the shoddy repairs that Tires Plus did on my car from my new shop: Tires Plus/Herndon used bathroom sealant instead of a gasket to seal oil pan, installed timing belt improperly (crank was out of synch with camshafts) and incompletely (ignored tensioner replacement), broke off oil dipstick neck (didn't fix or tell me about it). I could go on further but I won't. I strongly recommend keeping your prescious automobiles away from this shop. read more

I had great customer service here. I am always sketchy of mechanic shops. I took my car here because I had a nail in my tire. I called before to find out how much it would be to get it patched or to get it plugged thought the price was reasonable so I decided to give it a shot. I got there I confirm the price was the same as I was told over the phone and not have to wait about 30 minutes. So about 30 minutes later the guy comes back out and give me the nail that was in my tire told me that I actually did not puncture the tire. It's was a very short nail. So I lucked out the did not charge me. It's good to know that they were being honest and did not charge me. I will be going back! read more

my check engine light was on before my emissions inspection and I failed. so I brought my car to them to diagnose the problem, they said it was my PCV hose and replaced it for 125 dollars part and labor, retested the car said its good to go. 40 miles later light comes back on, bring it back in test it oh more of the pipes are cracked and replaced them. less than 20 miles later light comes back on. take it in to get tested constantly told our tech leaves at 5 or he is not here today. then given a manufacturer error code on my engine light now. after 24 hours still waiting to hear what this means. DONT EXPECT TIMELY RESPONSE or you will have to call them back repeatedly to get any info. GOING TO THE DEALER waste of my time read more

I've been here twice now, once to buy a new tire and the second time for an oil and tire rotation. Both times they were very friendly and professional. The guy who worked at the front counter (I always forget his name) is very professional. Both times I called ahead for an appointment and they fit me in the same day. I really appreciated not being hassled to buy a more expensive tire and the work was preformed quickly and everything has worked great since. I was also there last Friday for an oil change and a tire rotation. I had a coupon for a $21.99 oil change and again they were very eager to accept it and even gave me the additional tire rotation for only $10, even though I didn't ask or know to ask for the discount. I hesitated to give them a 5, because they took longer than 30 minutes for the oil change (even though that's what they say on their website), but they fit me in at the last minute and told me when I got there that they were packed and might run behind; plus they had already given me a discount on the tire rotation. I felt like that more than made up for it. I would definitely go here again. All in all I paid $37.01 for the oil change and tire rotation, which is great compared to the $150 I've had to pay at other places. read more

Just had an oil change and tire rotation done, and the work order stated as such. I should have checked before I left as it was clear as day (from the brake dust on the front wheels) that they had not done the tire rotation. I called about it and the guy gave me a BS story about them possibly not doing the rotation due to the amount of thread wear on the front versus the rear tires, essentially lying to excuse their screw-up. I am a fairly capable car fixer on easy things like oil, air filter, cabin filter, brake pads, rotors, starter, spark plugs, ignition coils, etc. I needed to have an oil change due to freezing weather and they did a great job and right on time. They recommended a number of things on top of the oil change which I opt out since I know exactly what needed to be replace from my car log. They recommended tires change which I thought was incorrect since it still has a bit of thread left, but they were right on the tire change due to the many cracks developing on my tires. The mechanic was pretty experience based on my discussion with him. The prices are very reasonable for what were quoted and much better than some that I got from other local places. I had a coupon for a synthetic oil change, which made Tires Plus the cheapest place around. Arrived for my appointment, dropped the car off, and went across the street for lunch. Although my car wasn't ready in 30 minutes, like it's advertised online (it was between 45 minutes to an hour), this was the first place I have ever had a oil change done and did not get a long list of recommended repairs. My car is two years old and has been well maintained but every time I take it in for an oil change elsewhere, I always end up with estimates for unnecessary repairs and maintenance. My experience here could have gone much better. I booked an appointment to get new tires and an oil change. My husband took my car in and picked it up, however since I was the one who made the appointment and was not available when he picked my car up, he did not realize they put the WRONG tires on my car until that night. I called the store manager, Steve Brown, and spoke to him regarding what happened. He informed me that they no longer carry the tires I had ordered online; yet for some reason they still have them on their website (Falken). I asked him, if that was the case, why did they not tell us that before they started working on my car, or at the very least, when my husband picked up the car?! Instead there was no line of communication. After speaking with Steve Brown, he said he was going to talk to his boss and get back to me on how they could resolve this problem. He said he was going to call me back the following day......a week later, I'm still waiting on a call back...........
