The sunoco at Elden St herndon,va. I have been there every year to do the emissions and inspection of my car for over the past 9 years. I always have a good experience with them and never had any problem with the guys that take care of the emissions and inspection. Well, today, for the first time, I got this Spanish guy who decided that he would not let me stand outside in front of the garage door for me to see what he was doing. He came to me to tell me with a lot of attitude that I need to go away and not stay there watching him because he was not going to do anything to my car. I said to him I have come here every year for many years and I've never had anyone say to me you can't be there and watch. You are the first person who's said that I me. I said to him, "I am not even inside the area you are working in." He said if you dont go away, I won't see your car after I waited for 2 hours! Unfortunately, the manager of the store was not there. Yes, I am going to be honest about everything. I did scream and yell at him because of the way he pulled my car out of the garage very recklessly & to wait for so long only to be told in 5min no I won't see you , was too much. They did not care about the customer and the business that I have been provided for many years to this establishment. Well, I will not care to damage their reputation when they treat women like crap. The rest of the customers that were doing their emissions and inspection were all men. I realized that after the way he treated me, he clearly does not respect women. I will never go back to this gas station in Herndon,Va. Every customer should not be made to feel that they can't watch what they are doing to their car. If he has nothing to hide, he shouldn't feel that way. BTW, they even have a sign outside the bay that states, " enter at your own risk," so what was the problem? read more

Without question, the best car repair in Herndon. We have lived in Herndon for over 30 years and have seen good repair shops come and go. The Sunoco, however, might just be the best shop we have seen. Daniel will fix your car correctly, and honestly, the first time and at a fair price. He really knows how to treat his customers. WARNING! I went to this Sunoco on Elden Street in Herndon, VA for a simple vehicle inspection, and it turned into a complete scam. The mechanic, Daniel, told me my car wouldn't pass inspection because the headlights were misaligned. I told him I was fine taking my car home and getting it fixed elsewhere. That's when he told me the car was already "connected to the machine" and I couldn't drive it -- that I had to get it fixed there. At that point, I felt pressured and cornered. They charged me nearly $5 for supplies, another $5 in "environmental fees", and a whopping $80 in labor -- for a headlight adjustment that literally just needed a screwdriver. A total rip-off. This place is an absolute scam. The mechanic Daniel was completely dishonest and took advantage of the situation. He should not be working there, period. read more

brought my car in for an inspection. It failed due to a bad drive belt. i was told it could be fixed for $280. When shown the belt, I could see no problem. I took the car for reinspection at a large regional tire and repair shop that does my normal maintenance work. They had just done work on the car a week or two before. I was first told that belts are not part of the inspection process. I was then told that the belts are fine in any case showing no wear or damage. The car passed inspection. I will. ever go back to the Sunoco. I caution those who do and flick inspection to be weary. read more

Rudeness to the max. Went there to get inspection done and someone at the front desk told me to talk to the mechanics in the back. So I stepped into the working area expecting to get some help or at least some sort of guidance. There were two mechanics working at the time, one in the front and one in the back. And they clearly saw me standing there, but wouldn't say word, wouldn't even look at me. Just absolute rudeness...Then someone stepped in-i assume the manager- I asked him politely that I was there to get an inspection done.He responded, again in a rude aggressive manner, you need to wait out there in that line blah, blah, blah... So I just went to the other shop which is a minute away. I won't recommend anyone to deal with these guys, unless you want to be treated with rudeness. read more

I was stuck with a wheel problem one block away from this place, and had to walk to see what car services were around. One place offered to leave my car until tomorrow, but I decided to walk another block. The manager of Sunoco at Elden street (Daniel, if I'm not mistaken) offered to look at it right away despite the fact that mechanics were busy. On 11/25/2024, I brought my 2016 CRV to Sunoco 640 Elden St for a VA Inspection. I have taken my vehicles here for over ten years. The gas station inspector A. Sahraei (#56739) did the inspection. After a while another Sunoco employee told me my vehicle failed inspection and needed a Brake Caliper adjustment and Headlight alignment. I told that person just return my vehicle and Sahraie gave me my key with the failed State Inspection form stating "Front Brakes: LF outer pad was less than specs". The form had NO mention of headlights needing to be adjusted, nor did it mention that brake calipers needed to be adjusted. I contacted the people who oversee the VA state inspection and they eventually determined that my brakes were within specifications and on 12/1/2024 another inspector at the Sunoco immediately changed it to a valid sticker. In conclusion, my vehicle had NO issues when I originally took it for inspection even though they failed my vehicle and told me they had to do repairs that subsequently were determined to be unnecessary and NOT even listed on the inspection forms. My suggestion is that if you take your vehicle to this shop and get a rejection sticker, and you are unsure that it really failed, then take the vehicle somewhere else for repairs or a second opinion. I will never return to this shop, or to any of the three other shops owned by the same person. read more

Easiest experience receiving a state inspection. Called ahead to make sure they had availability to get my car in, brought it in 30 minutes later and it was done within the hour. Everyone was very pleasant and nice. Additionally, I mentioned to the mechanic my low tire pressure light had just come on and that I could fill it up after, he offered to do it for me during my inspection. I came into get my tires rotated. And I can't express how pleased I am with the honesty of this service center. First I dropped in around 12 in the afternoon. The said it as gonna be an hour and a half. I asked if I could come back later. Abdul said come back at 4:30. I came back at 4 he took my car next. I was only going to have my tires rotated front to back. They got it up and doesn't take my money like most mechanics would. They said " I wouldn't recommend doing the rotation. I have been going to this Sunoco for years. I went by today to have someone show me how to check my tire pressure because. I ask the manger can someone assist me with this. He said in 15 or 20 minutes. I thought to myself that's a long time, but I sat in my car and set my timer for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes I went in and the manager says when one of the mechanics are available they will see you. I said to him that's not what you told me. I've been sitting in my car for 20 minutes. He was so rude. I went outside and could see the mechanics eating lunch. The cashier came out and said they are eating lunch. Then why the hell you tell me to wait for 15 minutes and not tell me they were on lunch. They have no respect for peoples time and act like I did something to them. Not going there again. I have dealt with this station for gas, tires and mechanical service for several years and have found them to be honest, capable and fairly priced. I stopped in today to see if it was possible to have a turn signal bulb replaced on my pickup truck on a while you wait basis. They were very busy, but Daniel, the Service Manager came out to take a look. Ford buried the bulb access behind the wheel well liner making it look as though it would require more time to fix than you would have thought. Never the less, Daniel went inside, came back and puled it apart enough to get to the light. Turned out to be just that the plug was loose. He got it plugged in tightly, put it all back together and working fine. When I went in to pay, he said "no charge". I am very appreciative and highly recommend them to anyone who asks where to find a good reasonable repair shop. read more

When I relocated to the DC area, I was in need of a good mechanic to support our transportation needs. Sunoco also known as Elden Street Sunoco was the right place to go. We have five children. The purpose of our first trip was to provide support for our 18-year-old daughter. She had been to another shop who quoted her $1200 to fix her engine. Since I had already gone to Sunoco with my car for other service needs, I pointed our young driver this direction. She arrived, innocent, not sure what to expect and eager to get her car fixed and quickly learned that the cost was $250. The mechanic explained what needed to be done and the timeline. Our daughter accepted that path. Her car continued to run without issues for two additional years before she traded it in. My hat goes off to Elden Street Sunoco!
