TIRE PLUS is a NIGHTMARE!!!!! My SUV has been at TP since Sept 1st get my FAN repaired. I was quoted by my Mechanic that it should be $200-$400 if it included any assembly to the Fan. Well, today is the 5th time this month that my FAN has QUIT working within 24hrs after I get it back from TP on Atlanta Hwy. PLEASE! PLEASE! DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLES TO TIRE PLUS. They ONLY WANT to SELL YOU TIRES & NEW PARTS. YET, they Cannot REPAIR or FIX YOUR CAR!!! So, I am out over $400 & my car cannot be driven with NO WORKING FAN. I Still have the same problem that they had on Sept 1st.... Also, CORPORATE has not gotten back to me in over 2wks either.... SAVE UR MONEY & GO ELSEWHERE!!!!! read more

Certain service reps are nice, but don't waste your time here. My car sat there for four days, they kept telling me someone would look at it and it never happened. Their tech "called out" three days in a row I guess. Wont be going back there and wont recommend it to anyone who needs car work done. read more

1 star because it literally can't be a zero. While on an out of town trip my car began to overheat while my girlfriend was driving it. I had it limped here since it is right down the street from my apartment and that was a pivotal decision I came to regret. My radiator had a leak in it and the pressure test the shop performed confirmed my suspicion that it went bad. The crew here tried to take full advantage of my girlfriend since she dropped it off and attempted to extort us for a $2,000 repair bill. Including a quote for $500 for hoses that passed the pressure test! Why replace them if they are good you may ask? Because they were "squishy". Duh. They. Are. Hoses... When I opted to have the vehicle towed they drained my car of transmission fluid and had a temper tantrum on the phone with me. Saying my car was pay to play and that it would be expensive anywhere because of the car. After paying them for the work they did ($300), getting the vehicle towed from them ($80), buying the radiator elsewhere ($140), getting it installed elsewhere ($150), and doing a transmission flush ($250). I still spent about half of their initial quote. This place is a scam, a rip off, and shouldn't have the privilege to serve the Athens community. read more

Took my car to get the AC serviced and the person up front tell me yeah I spoke to my technician. He says you just need to get a recharge at the end of everything ended up paying $275 and my AC still doesn't work. I will not recommend this place, they're not honest !!!! read more

Hear me out , these people are literally scammers, and unresponsive, and they will charge 8x the amount of cash if not more what a , regular shop would like Wilson's would (for repairs) . There's was a mix up when I recently had an appointment for an oil change scheduled. I've always had really great experiences here, so I called Ewart and he handled the situation promptly. My car was serviced and ready in 3 hours the next day. These guys stay consistently busy (for good reason!) so I understand how things can slip through the cracks, but everything has been resolved and I will definitely be back!! read more

Ewart has taken great care of my cars for the last two plus years. When he moved from Epps Bridge I followed him. I trust that he will take care of my cTs at a fair price. I took my Volvo XC-90 to another tires plus location I in Atlanta for an oil change. They could not get the filter off for some reason but they still wanted to try to charge me 40.00 for the synthetic oil that they had put into my car and expected me to take car of the filter on my own. I called Ewart and apologized for going elsewhere and he told me not to pay the other location and to bring.the suv to him where he replaced the filter for free! read more

I had my car towed to Tired Plus. The front end staff was very polite. However, they told me I was going to need a new transmission and it would be around $10,000. I am driving that car now. Same transmission. The cable that connects the battery to the engine was corroded and needed replacing. They didn't see that. Thankfully the dealer caught it. That was less than $400. They told me I needed a new transmission and it was going to be $10,000+ . Get a second opinion and don't let it be this place. read more

By far the best comprehensive car service in the Athens area ( I tried at least three other places in the last few years and was disappointed ) . I didn't know until recently they are a part the firestone corporation and that's a big plus, they can order any tires of your liking. The guys there are very friendly and knowledgeable . Richard the manager and Ricky in 2 different occasions helped me , they explained everything to me In great details and not in a rush. They are not trying to sell you anything that you don't need !!! so you don't have to worry about that. Waiting room is very accommodative. I made the appointment the same day without difficulty. Very reasonable price for what you get , no more membership club tires and waiting for long hours to rotate and balance and you end up saving nothing but wasting time. The lifetime alignment is a fantastic deal. Even driving from downtown Athens it's well worth it read more

I've been coming to this Tires Plus for over 13 years, and had great experiences, until recently... My most recent experience: I had an oil change appointment - and show up 5 minutes early. The person at the desk is bent over his computer and tells me it will be a few minutes. 10 minutes later I interrupt his "computer staring" and tell him I have an appointment for an oil change and ask if I will be out in an hour. He says: "Oh no, it will talk an hour and a half or two hours". I asked about their 30 minutes guarantee and he said they never offered that. It always takes at least an hour and a half. When I made the appointment- I told them I needed to be out in an hour, and they never said it wouldn't work. I've always waited on my oil changes before and never took more than an hour. I see on the website that they no longer guarantee the half hour oil change. - my 10 year old nephew could change my oil in an hour and a half... I will be taking my business elsewhere. I drive a lot and get my oil changed about every 6 weeks. No way I can spend this much time waiting on a simple oil change. I used to recommend this location. Not any more read more

I have been a customer of this tires plus location for many years. I have not had any problems with their work on my car. The only complaint (if any) is, that I do usually wait an hour for a tire rotation and oil change but they do check all the fluids as well. It seems that no days the amount of time they need to do this work is the norm. Unless you want to go to one of those "jiffy" places. I am happy here. read more

Took my daughter's car in for an oil change at this location. When she picked her car up, she noticed a few things were missing along with her sunglasses that were hidden under the passenger car seat! Someone had to be looking for things in order to have found those sunglasses. I spoke to the manager, Gary, who said he spoke to the person that changed the oil in her car, and, he said he remembers seeing some sunglasses but he doesn't know what might have happened to them! Gary proceeds to tell me we are not responsible for things left in your car! I guess we should be grateful the spare tire is still in the trunk. I usually go to the tires plus on Epps Bridge but on Friday they didn't have any appointments. This location did so I got a basic oil change that shouldn't have gone wrong. Keep in mind my car has given me no problems in the past whatsoever! I drove home and I could already tell a negative difference right away in the way it was driving. The brake was harder to push and it just seemed off. The next day it drove terribly. When I got to a stop it would jump forward, endangering me of hitting another car. Also, right when I let off the brake it shoots me forward. The engine also sounds like it's about to explode it's so loud. I drove home and didn't drive it again until today and it's doing the same thing mentioned above and the check engine light just came on. I called and they said it was a coincidence. Like I said previously, my car has had no trouble for the past 3 years I've had it. It is not a coincidence that I got my oil changed Friday and the next day I drive it, it messes up and my check engine light comes on. I will not be bringing my car to this location ever again because they can't seem to even manage a simple oil change service. read more

I dropped my Subaru off for an oil change and 4 new tires two Fridays ago. It was a quick turnaround and the cost was fair. 7 days later, the following Friday, on my way to work my car started smoking from the hood, making an extremely loud knocking sound and would not accelerate over 30mph. I drove it immediately back to tires plus. In this time period (one week) I had driven it a grand total of 30 miles. They kept my car to check it out and see what was wrong. 3 hours later I had not heard anything so I called them. They told me the oil filter had cracked and all of the oil had leaked out, that was the reason for the smoke and knocking sound. The assured me they cleaned it up and refilled it with oil and sent me on my way. I drove directly to the Subaru dealership and asked them to check it out. I wanted reassurance that tires plus had indeed fixed the problem. Subaru put it up on a lift and immediately called me to let me know that my car was undriveable as it was a fire risk. While tires plus had attempted to clean the oil from under the hood, they had not checked under the car and it was covered in oil thus making it a fire risk. I have 2 young children, sending me down the road in a car covered in oil is appalling, I shudder to think what could have possibly happened. Subaru cleaned the undercarriage of my car, drained it of the oil tires plus hastily put in, did a full oil change and washed my vehicle. I returned to Tires plus and asked to be reimbursed for the amount I paid at Subaru. They apologized, and credited me that amount. Over the next few days my Subaru started making a loud squealing sound from the hood, it would not accelerate and it did not drive smoothly at all. Today I took it back to the dealership where they did another diagnostics test and found that my drive train belt needed to be replaced because it was covered in oil from the tires plus oil leak. I returned to tires plus and they reimbursed me the amount to replace the belt with Subaru. While I am appreciative of their quickness to reimburse me the amount I have had to pay to fix their errors I am still frustrated by the issues I have had and the amount of time I have had to take off work to repair what was previously not broken. I will not be going back to Tires Plus, and I would urge anyone I meet not to use them for car service either. read more
