I got an oat milk latte and a lemon bar at TipTop in Thomas, WV. The positives: the latte was delicious, and the lemon bar was very good. The inside of the coffee shop is very cute and tidy. They have a bunch of trendy drinks like Oli-pop and kombuchas. This shop was open on a Monday, which apparently is rare in Thomas. Everything else on the strip was closed. The negatives: the food and drinks are overpriced. This is common for most trendy coffee shops, so this is not surprising but still a little annoying. read more

This place is A+ and the new location (as of fall 2022), right down the street from the previous location, is absolutely stunning. Perfectly created coffee drinks, a wildly long list of local beer, oat milk drinks bottled in house, pastries, gluten free options, sandwiches from Fish Hawk Acres, chocolate, local meats, and so much more. Made it in just before they closed. Lucky me, a jewel found. Emmitt was at the register. She was super friendly and cool. Told me I couldn't bring my furry BFF in. Totally understand the restrictions. Asked Emmitt and she informed the baked goods are all made in house... The hard part was to figure out what to order. It's harder still, when it's only me and my puppy (and she doesn't get to eat baked goods for humans). Settled on Raspberry almond shortbread, Peanut butter chocolate chip cookie and a House coffee. Shortbread was delicate raspberry almond buttery goodness. I could taste the raspberries and the almonds were a very nice subtle undertone. The shortbread almost melted in my mouth, with the black coffee as a nice counterbalance to its buttery richness. The house coffee was good. Not as strong as I prefer, but well suited for the baked goods and strong enough to power me through the rest of my long drive. read more

They have the COOLEST selection of kombucha, sparkling water, fermented drinks, and NA cocktails. Check out the fridge selection! The employees, clean. The kitchen, yep, it's clean. The coffee, just smooth and clean. This is one of the nicest coffee shops I've stepped in. And of all places in the heart of little Thomas, WV. They have a great selection of cold refrigerated beers, the absolute best pastries I've found. Seriously. Better than grandma's. The coffee and lattes are amazing. Worst coffee shop experience. I asked for a hot chocolate that was less sweet. They made it super sweet. I asked for the drink to be remade and they said I would have to pay for it. I ordered another drink and they made that extra sweet too. No apologies were offered. They refunded my second drink. If I'm ever in the area, I'm never coming here again. I ordered the chai latte and it was quite light and yummy with a nice froth on it. I say at the bar area and chatted with the barista/bartender and she was quite nice. I also purchased some whole bean coffee that they ground for me and it was delicious the next morning as I wrapped up a friends weekend in the mountains. I am a fan of this place and their products. I think each time I come here I love it a little bit more each time I come here and more. * The cappuccinos are super good * The kombucha on tap is super tasty * The beer selection is superb * The staff is super cool and a super friendly * The atmosphere is super chill I have not ate that many items they serve here but the vegan and vegetarian stuff that I have had is tip top ;) I hope to try one of those amazing vegan burgers I've heard so much about on burger night one night because the last time I was in town on that night it was jam packed and people were waiting for a seat and I had to be somewhere kind of important, kinda. My husband and I recently took a trip to the mountains of West Virginia and knew that we had to try TipTop coffee! We're both grew up in WV and moved to Kentucky a few years ago, so we've heard amazing things about this coffee shop from people we know. We decided to stop by for coffee and a small snack, before spending the day hiking. My favorite drink to get at coffee shops is a caramel latte, so we got two of those and also a pastry for breakfast. This latte was phenomenal! For sure one of the best I've ever had. I got a maple pecan pastry and my husband got a chocolate croissant. Both were absolutely delicious! The barista was very friendly too. She was easy to chat with, and also gave us some great recommendations for trails to hike. Later that day (5ish PM) we were feeling hungry and had to drive about 30 minutes to a different destination to hike. We were passing by TipTop again, so we decided to swing by and grab their canned lattes. We got a oat milk pumpkin latte and vanilla oat milk latte. These were great and hit the spot! I look forward to our next hiking/camping trip and visiting TipTop again! 10/10 would recommend! read more

A cute little coffee place! We stopped at this place at the recommendation of our airbnb host. They have a nice little view outside. It's not a full breakfast place but they enough to satiate you. I got the Smoked salmon bagel and it was very tasty. The response time was pretty quick as well. I usually drink my coffee with soy milk. They didn't have soy milk, but they had almond and oat milk. This is an adorable shop on the main strip in Thomas, WV, a cute little railroad town we ran into after a weekend camping trip. The coffee was phenomenal! However, as an out of towner trying this coffee for the first time, I expected a bit more friendliness and welcoming demeanor from the staff. The girl who took my order seemed annoyed, impatient and mildly condescending toward me after asking what her recommendations or favorite coffee were so that I could try something new. I feel strongly that the attitude of the staff makes or breaks a place--it contributes so much to the environment overall. Maybe everyone was having a bad day, or maybe they hate their jobs? My husband and I stopped here for breakfast prior to heading to Blackwater Falls. It was a 35 degree morning and we wanted something to warm us up before we went hiking. They were only letting 5 people in at a time due to Covid restrictions so we had to wait outside for about 5 minutes before entering. Once inside, I could see how this would be a cute place to come for breakfast or lunch! They had some merchandise, prepared meals and drinks in a cooler, and a table full of hard cider and wine. They had quite a few hot drink options, and a case full of pastries and baked goods. It looked like they had previously served breakfast but this was the option right now. I ended up with a Hot Tumeric Latte with a Yam Brownie. I wanted to try something different and both were so unique and quite tasty! My husband had a coffee and a toasted Asiago bagel with onion and chive cream cheese. The prices were reasonable for a cafe and the items they had to offer were different and unique.
