The atmosphere was more exceptional than Thomas due to the decor it looks amazing! The Dirty Chai was delicious as well!

I frequently visit tip top as it's a quiet place to study and the coffee is and scones are high quality. A little over priced but still very tasty. However there are some things that are off about this place. Firstly whenever I order a coffee they'll give it to me in a random cup. Sometimes a mug, others a paper cup and even a glass cup. Not necessarily bad just odd. What is odd though is the employees reaction to not getting tips. They will give you nasty looks and lower quality service for not tipping on a 5 dollar coffee. I have one friend who was even made fun of. They will go as far as making fun of him for being gay when he isn't just for not tipping. I like supporting small businesses but the customer service needs work here. read more

Coffee was served lukewarm. It's a coffee shop. Don't fucking do that. I had a chocolate croissant. It was chewy. And gross. In probably three or four days old. The seats are oak planks. It's like something the Amish would put in their church to keep people awake. They must want you to leave five minutes after you sit down. I would give this place zero stars if I could. My family and I ordered an americano, a strawberry smoothie, and an iced chai. Unfortunately, all three drinks were disappointing. Our experience started off poorly, as we weren't greeted or acknowledged for several minutes and were only helped after we asked what we wanted. Another worker even came in and made herself a drink before we were helped then left. The iced chai was very watered down and mostly tasted like ice and water. The smoothie didn't seem to have real fruit or milk blended in and had more of an icy, pre-made texture. The americano was also underwhelming and tasted quite watered down as well. Overall, the quality was disgusting, and we ended up throwing the drinks away after trying them in the trash outside. read more

I stopped in recently on an early Sunday morning to grab a latte and a pastry before going a day long hiking trip to Spruce Knob and the Sinks Of Gandy with friends. I've been here several times and I actually like this Tip Top better than the Thomas one and I never thought I'd say that. The whole layout of this place is epic! The patrons are always smiling and friendly. The baristas are great and they are always provide friendly service and are great to chat with too. Thank you! Elkins has came a long way over the years and to have this wonderful establishment in its town is a plus for everyone including the college kids. Also, the PB&J bar is stupid good and their iced dirty chai lattes with almond milk are stupendous!!! Two must haves when visiting. Go enjoy it as much as I always do when I am in town. read more

Popped in for a quick caffeinated pick me up. Husband and I both got the salted caramel nitro brews. WOW, we were so impressed! It was smooth, lightly sweet, and came with a little candy on top. I wish I had taken a photo of them but we inhaled them, they were so good. The inside of the space is super cute and looks like there are conference rooms for work groups. Lots of local art covered the walls and the barista was fast and efficient balancing our order along with another guest. We can't wait to come back! read more

Nice, cool, interesting place. Very unique and fun place to visit. They have little spaces where you can rent if you need a place to work. There were a few people in there with their laptops working. Pretty much the only coffee shop in Elkins. I love it. Great location. Easy parking. Their service sucks but it is like 18 year old from a small town. The coffee is really good. I like their chai tea latte. They also won't kick you out if you stay there for an extended period of time because your parents have shit internet in Beverly. Which is why I give more stars. You can also rent work space, which I have not done. But totally plan to. read more

Music is perfect for this place, not too distracting so if you're working it's easy to focus. The baristas are really sweet and like to answer questions. The coffee is a little pricey but good. The chai and hot chocolate are my favorites. They offer free wifi and don't mind if you stay for a while and work (I'd say buy something first though). read more

I usually love Tip Top but we had the worst experience there on 9/29/2022 @ 10:45 AM. My fiancé and I walked in, the only ones in the shop. I was reading a couple menus and asked what beetroot was / the affects (is it calming like turmeric lattes, etc?). The barista replied it's root from a beet. Like a smart ass. My fiancé, sniffing with allergies, proceeds to ask him if he knows what a medicine ball is from Starbucks and asks if he could make something similar. The barista replied by saying that he hated Starbucks and was dismissive to even accommodate finding a similar tea. If we weren't in such desperate need of caffeine, we would have left. He honestly treated us as if he didn't want to serve us. He was a true asshole, for absolutely no reason. I would definitely be changing this employees role or firing him all together if I knew that's the way he was handling customers if he worked for my small business. We love love love Tip Top usually, especially the Thomas location. Heck, we even had some engagement photos taken in front of the shop. So I truly hate leaving such a bad review. I've only been here twice & I have to say, it's not my favorite by any means. I always judge a coffee shop based off of their iced latte with almond milk. First time I tried it, I immediately didn't love the roast. It was fruity & burnt tasting. & It also left an almost papery film in my mouth, but I just thought those were the paper straws. I did have an awesome muffin though. Was a little pricey, but it's a small business. I still decided to come back a second time, & I decided to switch things up and get an iced matcha latte with almond milk. The barista was very informed when I asked her questions, which I always appreciate. The matcha latte was a lot better, but not worth the $6. I still got a papery film in my mouth & I didn't use a paper straw so it must be their almond milk. However, the atmosphere is great & im willing to give it a third try. Just like the Thomas shop, this is a top notch coffee shop. With a rotating selection of single origin and blends, there is a coffee for every taste. The espresso drinks are perfectly poured and they have a great selection food to compliment the coffee. Couple that with great staff and a cool environment and you've got a great place to hang out. read more

We had never been, had a couple of questions, which clearly bothered the staff. I was able to visit Tip Top a couple of weeks ago while visiting my parents. The aesthetic of the place is enough to make you want to check it out, but the coffee is what will keep me coming back. I ordered a pour over (can't remember the exact name but it was a zip code) and it was the best coffee I've ever gotten at a coffee shop. I was so excited because my favorite coffee shop in the area closed lately which was somewhere I always stopped when I came in. Such a cool atmosphere, amazing coffee, nice staff, and family friendly! Will definitely be picking up some coffee to take home with me next time I'm in. read more
