Food was good, the atmosphere was interesting, inside a store. Service was a little slow but was super busy.

First time here & I am So Happy I tried The Donut Shop!! I told my dad I wanted donuts & we drove…read morethru here mid-morning on a weekday - there were lots of choices still available *much appreciated* So I picked 7 for The Family: Blueberry Cake (for me) - I love the density of cake donuts & this one has Great Flavor, blueberry bits, & a nice light glaze! Apple Fritter (for mom) - My mom Loved this Apple Fritter & she's very picky about her fritters! The chunks of apple & cinnamon spice were good! It was Also The Largest of the group (a solid win for my mom)! German Chocolate (for dad) - Another cake option, the chocolate was sweet & the coconut was fresh & added some crunch! Vanilla Iced w/Sprinkles (for son) - The softness of this yeast donut was just what my son likes & the sprinkles & white frosting was the perfect sugar high for my 8yr old! Boston Cream - This filled yeast donut had a lot of cream in it (perfect!!) Lemon - the filling was Super Tart, which I Loved! Peanut Butter Delight (most popular) - I was told this was the post popular donut at The Donut Shop & My Family Agrees! We split it into 4 pieces and.....ate it Immediately- lol the chocolate was gooey & the peanut butter smooth! We are in Philippi, but when we travel to Buckhannon, we will Definitely stop by *The Donut Shop* again! *Also, I have to say the Price Point is Amazing! I'm from Chicago, where 7 hand-made donuts cost anywhere from $13-19, so to have 7 for under $9 is Such a Deal!!!

We made a detour on our journey south to make sure to stop not even for donut but the pepperoni…read morerolls since they use ground pepperoni. Once we made it there and went inside, we had to get donuts as well. The honey dip and crumb were my favorite.

We recently road-tripped our way as a fam' from Buffalo NY down to WV to do some sightseeing in…read morethis area. We stayed in Bridgeport WV and ended up one afternoon passing through Weston, (about a half hour from Bridgeport), and decided to stop for the American Glass Museum. It was a lovely day, so we strolled though the cute town and came upon The Coffee House. This is literally a house that at some point was converted into a business, still with much of the general layout and charm of the original house. In the heart of the home is the order counter. The menu has all of the typical choices for barista-prepared coffee drinks. I went with a cappuccino with whole milk and a shot of sugar-free smores. My vegan daughter lucked out that The Coffee House had plant-based milk options, and chose an oatmilk cappuccino. Our son had an iced hot chocolate, and my husband a black coffee. In addition to the beverages, there were homemade baked goods in baskets by the counter. When in WV-Rome, you don't need to twist my arm to try a homemade sweet treat, haha. I tried the chocolate chip cookies and the blondie brookie, both of which were delicious, tasted like they came out of grandma's oven. Our son enthusiastically gobbled up a couple gingerbread cookies that went well with his iced hot chocolate that he also loved. There was only one person working when we stopped in, and he was fairly flatline, not overly nice, not unpleasant, just a meh' young man. I like my baristas to have a bit more bravado and charm, haha. But the drinks were well made, so certainly no major complaints with the service. We enjoyed our treats on the porch, which is enclosed with tables and couches. It was hot in there that day, as it was unseasonably warm outside with the sun pouring in, so about halfway through our goodies we moved to a shadier spot. Inside there was a parlor-like room off of the ordering room that had comfortable seating too. If you are in Weston WV and are looking for a full-service coffee house with some sweet nibblies, it is nice that cute little Weston WV has The Coffee House as an option.
