place was cute, chairs were nice. very nice view of the beach while you eat. food was a bit overpriced except for the tacos. those were priced nicely especially for being on the boardwalk. service was slow but they were busy so i can't say too much. otherwise good!

    Chips & Guac

The food was extremely mediocre and overpriced. $13 for a tiny cup of guac. $12 for 2 street tacos... the server actually told us to order something else. The drinks were decent and the oceanfront patio was nice. I also asked for no peppers in my quesadilla and got them anyway.

9/21/25 - Our first dinner out at Ocean City... one of the first restaurants that popped up on almost all my targeted searches was a place called the Tipsy Taco. The good: It's right on the Boardwalk and if you have the right table, you can see and hear the breakers as you dine. The wait staff couldn't have been nicer and more attentive. The chips and salsa were pretty good but they do charge for this. The chips are served in a metal basket that arrives warm out of a broilers. It seems like a great spot for young folk who want to drink and have a light bite. Unfortunately, the good ends there. The bad: the music is so loud that it's a struggle to have a conversation. And if you linger, it will give you sensory overload and lead to a headache. Because the chips were so good, I had great expectations for my carne asada bowl. But I was wrong. To start, the cheese on top was cold. No, it wasn't melted either. Pet peeve of mine, if you put cold shredded cheese on any of my food and you don't melt it, it's not going to get a good review. Unless it's a salad. The asada beef was flavorful but very dry. If you didnt include some of the rice and/or other vegetables with each bite of the beef, it was unpleasant. Portion sizes: on the small side but that plays into catering to the younger, drinking crowd. Now the financial side: $9.60 Parking $54.00 Two bowls, one soda, one water and one chips and salsa, 20% tip Almost $64.00 for a couple dining out at what should inexpensive eats without alcohol is ridiculous. I am sure there are better Mexican eateries on this barrier strip and I intend to find them. This place however, is a failure. Overall Rating: D+

Stopped here on a Friday night after licking our elbows at the Poor Girls Open weighins…read more We sat upstairs and grabbed a table for 7 and spread out. Bartender Jeff Mick pulled up and took care of us. We had a couple shots (which we totally needed at that point) and I ordered two soups to try and push towards my week quota of 10 soups. The French onion was very good - good temp and the flavor was on-point. The MD crab soup was also good with the flavor and temp. Overall - was surprised by the place upstairs and how cool it was.

We ordered the veggie omelette with…read moreprovolone cheese ($14), ball buster burger challenge ($36), and refillable glass with pina colada ($10). Total out to approximately $72, not including tip. What's hot - Menu. Breakfast is available before noon, so hubby and I made certain to arrive before then, because I'm a huge fan of breakfast. Aside from breakfast options (such as breakfast burritos, omelettes, etc.), they have a good variety including sandwiches, salads, burgers, a good variety of appetizers, etc... - Quality. Delicious. My veggie omelette was very fluffy and soft. I'm not a fan of thin omelettes and this one did not disappoint. There were a good amount of veggies included. They put the cheese on top of the omelette, instead of inside with the fillings, but oh well.... My omelette came with 2 slices of cantaloupe and a strawberry, in addition to has browns, which was nice. I appreciate having fruit. The hash browns were not greasy, as well. My husband's burger challenge was enormous. The bun was very thick, which makes it difficult to eat. You definitely have to eat the burger challenge in pieces. There's a good amount of fillings, such as tomatoes, lettuce, and bacon. Their waffle fries are well-seasoned, which adds to the flavor. - Service. The staffer for our table was polite, attentive, and helpful, especially in answering any questions we had about the menu. He checked in on us regularly, which was helpful when we needed refills and/or anything extra. - Layout. Their outdoor seating area is a good layout. It does not appear outdoor tables can accommodate more than a group of 4, so be prepared depending on your group. - Price. Pretty good value for money, especially given the portions. What's not - Menu. Because I'm a huge breakfast fan, I would appreciate breakfast being available all day. That I had to pay extra for cheese in my omelette was surprising and disappointing, but it appears to be something that is becoming more common in restaurants. - Layout. There are umbrellas covering the outdoor seating, which is helpful. Towards the end of our meal, it started raining, so the large umbrella covering was helpful. However, part of the umbrella started coming apart. Rain also drips down on to your back, so just something to be aware of. Final answer Worth returning.

My first visit to Mothers Cantina. I was excited to try out the food after checking out menus, but…read morethey weren't dated and seemed maybe out of date. I was promptly greeted and seated even though it seemed quite busy. My server arrived quickly and took my drink order, and brought chips and salsa. The chips were hot and well salted and the salsa was good. I opted for the Birria Tacos listed as one of their premium tacos. The food came out quickly given how busy the place was. I think they were slightly overcooked. The tortillas seemed freshly made, and the au jus was delicious. The beef itself was okay, and there was less cheese than I expected. It was still a good dinner. As far as the restaurant itself, I was seated in the bar area, and overhead were old dished light/fan fixtures that looked pretty dirty. They might was to remove those as they just collect dust which eventually falls/drifts down. The air vents weren't looking very good either. These really kind of affect his the place could be perceived. I'll still leave 4 stars although I almost dropped to 3. There aren't half stars to give. A little attention to the facility might leave a better impression.
